Delicious sushi! I always order the specials and everything
Delicious sushi! I always order the specials and everything is so good! I wish they offered red wine here, but I'm happy with hot green tea or white wine, too. Something about the way they prepare the nigeri that makes it noticeably better than other restaurants. They also offer delivery via Postmates.
Be the first to ReplyThere is no place like sugarfish.
It's unmatched. I hadn't been here in 8 years, and it was like the first time all over again. Decided to skip trendy avra and came here to the tried and true instead. It was a wonderful choice. The food is fresh and came out perfectly. Service was prompt and polite. Food came out quickly and was so good!!! Always has a chill vibe that matches the food. Even my hard to impress hubby was in love.
Be the first to ReplyGiving 2 stars because the food is good but this Sugarfish
Giving 2 stars because the food is good but this Sugarfish is surprisingly the lowest grade version of the franchise and it's in Beverly Hills. I think they need a revamp at this location. The restaurant space is too dark and not in a sexy, intimate ambiance way. The space feels like a hole in a wall, humid dungeon but fine. The bathrooms are always dirty and the funky smell follows into the hall space. The service is typically bad and everyone seems not to want to happily greet patrons. The fish quality is also not as fresh at this location as it it is at other. Poorly managed.

Always packed and generally consistently good sushi Sugarfish is loved by Angelenos. They will sub things if you have an allergy- allergic to crab, you can get a different roll. However if you have a gluten allergy, don't bother, they will not accommodate you or your party. I took a friend who was visiting from out of town for a sushi lunch. She has a gluten allergy, our friendly waiter (he was actually great) advised us that they could accommodate. We wanted to share a Trust Me Nozawa, the big one, and would add a few items. One would think, ok sauces on the side and Tamari for her. NOPE. You get no sauces and they don't have Tamari. What sushi spot in LA is incapable of accommodating a gluten allergy!!!!!! They wouldn't give me sauces on the side claiming they didn't have them. Wait a sec, I've ordered Sugarfish to go plenty of times, it comes in a pretty box with all of the sauces conveniently packaged in little cups and labeled! So I know you have the sauces but you are refusing to give them to me????? And you don't have Tamarind?!?!?!?! Come on! We ate our sauce less sushi, did not order more and then left hungry. Very very disappointing.
Be the first to ReplyThis spot is one of my favorites amongst all locations.
It's vibey, intimate and just layed out quite nicely. Service was great, friendly and attentive. Always making sure we had enough in our bellies. Fish was delicious as always. Parking is easily available in nearby garages and decently priced as well (less than $10). Overall, perfect for a solo dinner, dinner date or just whenever you're in the mood for some bomb sushi.
Be the first to ReplyGreat authentic sushi.
Service was good and I enjoyed the cold saki and great vibes. First time trying and I will definitely come back!

Love this place! They are always consistent, attentive, and friendly. The food is delicious and the staff knows how to provide quality service. Wayyyyy better than the MDR location, which was very disappointing. I will only go to the BH location from here on. There are public parking lots, as well as street meters, in the area. Easy to find and not too expensive. No validations offered.
Be the first to ReplySugarfish used to be great a decade ago.
Since then, it has gone completely downhill- filled with people who think they are sushi connoisseurs because they've had the spicy tuna sandwich a few times at Erewhon. The cuts of fish are completely mediocre. Sugarfish should be Sugarrice. It's a rice restaurant. The fish is secondary.

Indulge in Sugarfish Beverly Hills' Nozawa Trust Me--an exquisite culinary journey featuring a selection of tantalizing sushi delights. From the freshness of Tuna Sashimi to the Toro Hand Roll and the delicate taste of Yellowtail Sushi, each plate is unique in flavor. The ambiance was inviting and elegant. The service was fantastic, with attentive staff guiding us through each dish. Kevin is amazing and embodies excellence in hospitality. The level of care and dedication to the restaurant truly enhances the overall dining experience.

We went a little earlier than dinner time without reservation and there was no wait time. The staff was friendly and professional. The sushi were very fresh and delicious. It's a cute little place.
Be the first to ReplyI've been here a few times.
They don't take reservations-- it's first come first serve. The sushi is very fresh. I normally order the "Trust me." I love everything it comes with, but the crab hand roll you receive at the end has got to be my favorite item. Their food is so good! As an fyi, it's a no tipping establishment-- the tip is already included in the bill, which is classy imo. No one hovers over you at the end of your meal with a charge machine, expecting a 30% tip like they do now in the US. All the servers cover each other and worth together. I wish all restaurants operated this way. I've been for lunch but prefer the ambiance at night.

Simply delicious! Was super pleased by trying a bit off everything with the Trust Me Lite course. The sashimi melted in my mouth The restaurant itself felt communal which elevated the experience. Can't wait to come back next LA excursion.

...sorry but That's the most accurate description that comes to my mind. The food is bland and flavorless, the service was awkward and the ambiance was uncomfortable. My friend is now banned from choosing any more restaurants as his choices are officially suspect. In his defense we only went here because the amazing sushi restaurant that we wanted to go to was not open for another hour. I'm the restaurant's defense they tout themselves as being an "authentic" sushi experience... not offering any sauces or additions to the cuisine. I love sashimi and sushi (meaning Im not one of those people who just orders rolls) but this was just super boring and unsatisfying. Another more personal gripe is they don't have anything spicy. No jalapeรฑos, no saracha no sauce at all.

sugarfish is so worth the hype !! everything was absolutely delicious and so fresh. service was friendly and efficient. i really like the ambiance of this place; a little dim and not too loud. i had the largest omakase set, "don't think just eat". it came with a sashimi course, 14 pieces of nigiri, and two hand rolls. i also got some scallops a la carte. i thoroughly enjoyed everything especially the toro and hand rolls. the handrolls have perfect crispy seaweed and warm rice. i'm definitely coming here again next time i'm in los angeles
Be the first to ReplyMan was I impressed by my experience at Sugarfish.
The menu is quite small, you can order a la carte, or from the chef tasting menu. I ordered the nozawa trust me. The meal started with a marinaded tuna sashimi that was so fresh and tasty! The next courses consisted of various nigiris and hand rolls. I liked that this place was on the more traditional side, meaning no Americanized rolls with a bunch of sauces. I was left satisfied and energized with the amount of food I got, the price matches the quality in my opinion!!The service was quick and timed beautifully. We all received our course at the same time. The inside of the restaurant was very modern my decorated, with a dark luxurious vibe. I would definitely come back!!

Sugarfish doesn't take reservations, so it had been on my list to check out for a while and I just hadn't gotten to it. I went around 2pm thinking we'd get a table, and was met with a 30 minute wait. It is a small, minimalist restaurant, but I'd heard enough good things we decided it was worth the wait. The menu is small and doesn't allow for additions or substitutions for the most part. There are 3 tasting menus that are highly recommended, so we each went for one. I went for the $30 Trust Me menu, and it was perfect. They bring out the dishes as they're ready, and despite it being crowded move pretty quickly. Each one was so incredible, my favorite probably being the Tuna Sashimi that came first. But the toro hand roll, crab hand roll, yellowtail sushi, and everything else were amazing as well. The fish is just so fresh and delicious, and it all matches the minimalist design inside. And for $30, it was really not a crazy price like some of the other fancier sushi places around. If you have the time to wait, I'd recommend checking this sushi spot out.

Service was horrible, it wasn't crowded, the waiters were standing around pretending to not see me waving them down. This place has horrible service, very limited menu, no specials, and very over priced. My date ordered a bowl of rice and they told her it was only on the "kids menu!" (Basically fuck you I don't feel like serving that to you) I was on a date and we were both very disappointed in this place with lack of service. We were never asked, "how is it? , can I get you anything else" 2 pieces of smaller than average sized sushi for $6.50! What am I paying for? Their shitty service and lack of menu???. Furthermore they served my date first and not me so I had to wait and watch her eat it unable to enjoy our dinner together. Id expect a lot more for any restaurant in Beverly Hills. Emamami was $3.00 and we only got 18 luke warm pieces. Everywhere else you get a large over flowing bowl of hot salted.
Be the first to ReplyNot enough options for me personally.
The lobster roll and the crab roll tasted exactly the same, I could've just got multiple crab rolls. The service was good however.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent sushi.
I think it's the best sugarfish in town. Great service as well. Would definitely going back.
Be the first to ReplyI've since come back to this location and happy to report
I've since come back to this location and happy to report that service was 100% better this time around. Ordered the yellowtail roll, the ikura, salmon sashimi, scallop with yuzu and a toro roll along with a green tea. If you're looking for the freshest sushi, sugarfish doesn't disappoint. Although my previous experience at this location had some disappointing elements, I'm happy to report it was probably a one-off occurrence. The manager reached out via Yelp and I could tell they really care about their customer's feedback and use it to better training and staff. Happy to return here when I'm in the area - parking can be a bit tricky, but plenty of street meters around - just might require a little bit of circling if you're not willing to shell out the $$ for garage parking.

I've been to Sugarfish many times before in the Hollywood and SaMo locations. My first time at this Bev Hills location is a bit smaller like the SaMo version and a darker vibe Vs Hollywood locale. But the food and service is top quality per usual. Got the usually Trust Me set menu and it was delicious and served on a good pace. I heard there's a special back room for omakase and need to learn more about that next time! I heard hard to book. It's good enough for another G as well. A 5 time NBA champion coach was sitting nearby.
Be the first to ReplyI enjoy Trust Me.
It's always good. I also like Santa Barbara uni when it's available. Sweet shrimp is also quite good.

One of my favorite spots to go to for lunch every time I'm in LA. The fish is always fresh and everything is really good! The trust me is a great go to, but it's also nice to switch it up and just try different nigiris or hand and cut rolls on the menu. The service is always great and everyone is always smiling.
