Came with my friends, seat at the bar, ordered smoked salmon and 2 French fries . Half hours waiting I received 4 small plane smoked salmon. When i asked- can i have at-list some bread? Waiter said one second, 30 min later he came back and said, sorry no bread, what??? Why are you bringing half of my order that impossible to eat? Well after 1:30 they brought some old tosted 3 small pc of bread. Wow really? French fries was very-very small and cost like $12-$15 each. Overall its ok place if you eat at home before you come. After waiting 1:30 min for my meal, i left hungry

The "Seated App" brought me and husband here for a date night. When you make a reservation with the " Seated App" and upload the receipt, you get a percentage back. I am assuming most or all of you already know this. Getting back to this review, the restaurant is close to Penn station and Madison Square Garden. On the days with events, I am assuming the place is packed with people. When we walked in and we were seated immediately. We were early for our reservation, but they took us. To be honest the place was a bit empty and not too busy. However, the place looks new and empty. The restaurant is extremely spacious. It's perfect for large groups. It has the friendly sports bar kind of theme. Of course, I don't remember if they have tv's but I think they do. The bar is extremely long. Like I said before, the restaurant has sports bar kind of theme. We were seated close to a group of friends having a night out, so it was bit too loud for a date night. This is not a place you bring a first date if you want to have a conversation. We didn't know this but you can't really hold the restaurant at fault for the noise from people. The service was great from the start to the end. From the host to the waiter, everyone was welcoming and friendly. Every now and than someone would come and make sure that we had everything we needed. When you check in with Yelp, you are able to get the Happy Hour prices but it's only between 3-7 PM. The deal is $6 for draft beer and $8 for selected wines. Truthfully, those are the prices for Happy Hour. With very reasonable price points, $20 for lobster and $20 for steak, this was a great deal. We didn't order any appetizers. But our entree came with a salads. I must say the salads came out quickly. We were delightfully surprised. It was a pretty standard salad, nothing special. For entrees, I ordered the Sumo Lobster. It was pretty epic. The lobster was worth every penny. I loved this food. My husband ordered the New york strip steak. He complained to me, that the steak was over done. He was not impressed. I am not a beef eater so I take his word for it. He said he had better and he was to return he will get the burger. That's why I took off one star. But I will go back. Thank When also a split a curly fries and we loved it. We I go back, I getting the curly fries with my lobster.

Our first time at this trendy-looking restaurant was fine, and that's why we came back. Our second visit was very disappointing. The place had customers but wasn't super busy-- quite a number of empty tables, around 8:30pm on a Saturday night. I ordered a NY Strip Steak ($32) (well done) and my wife ordered the New England Lobster Roll ($21). The server debated the choice with my wife, suggesting she should order the other spicier lobster roll, and she said she preferred to receive for what she had originally ordered. When the food arrived, the lobster roll did look lovely, but the taste was surprisingly average and it was mostly bread with a described filling of 'apple, cucumber and celery over arugula". It was supposed to be over a brioche roll (it wasn't--it was white bread) with a shockingly small quantity of lobster. I tried two forkfuls of what was in the lobster roll and literally had zero findable lobster in either forkful. It was definitely not worth the $21 at all, considering the other lobster roll options in New York (we expected far more from them given the word "lobster" in the restaurant name). My steak was admittedly sizable, but came to me rare with a gelatinous center. I asked for it to be re-fired. And cooked to well done as requested. Another server took it back to kitchen, since our server had apparently gone on break. She came back and said our server had mistakenly entered the steak to be done as "medium well" instead of "well" as requested. I had waited so long for the steak, my wife was already completely done with her dinner and the table was cleared. Still nothing. I asked for the manager, and requested that they just cancel the order and to receive the check so we could leave--I wasn't interested in the steak any more. The fill-in server went to check on the steak. As we were speaking with the manager, the steak arrived again, cooked to well done. To his credit, the manager offered to comp the steak (we didn't ask him to), and allow us to take it home if we wanted (we appreciated that). I decided to stay and eat it (unfortunately as my wife sat there, twiddling her thumbs). Sadly, the steak while tasty was greasy, and 1/4 to 1/3 of it was fat or gristle, and was a bit tough. I have eaten well done steak t a number of steak houses in New York and have always been pleased. Again, it was very disappointing steak for a place with "steak" in its name. The original server came over and apologized, and told us that he had entered the medium well temperature purposefully, thinking it would really be what I wanted (it wasn't). (Note that this still doesn't explain why it came back rare.) Also, he said the menu is new, and the chef is French and there are communication issues in the kitchen and the chef is doing things in a unique way. He offered my wife a dessert while she was sitting there watching me eat (she politely declined) and insisted we do not leave a tip for him, as he claimed he didn't deserve one (we did leave one though). Overall, we experienced a mediocre lobster roll, that should have been great based on the menu description, a quite underwhelming steak, generally poor service and several excuses. We also appreciated the efforts to rescue the situation after the fact. Sadly, despite comping the steak, we do not plan to return after this.
Be the first to ReplyI have mixed feelings for this place.
The Lobster Bisque was fantasticThe Lobster Roll was the worse I've ever had.For the price it's a hard pass.
Be the first to ReplyGoing to NYC is a treat for us.
The hubs & I went for a weekend in December. We tend to like our big-ish meal at lunch time. We were casually dressed so couldn't do anything to posh. This restaurant was perfect! The food was delicious, the atmosphere comfortable and the staff very friendly. We would go back during our next trip to the big city.

We went to dinner on Valentine's Day and was a bit disappointed. This place has lots potential - spacious, attractive. Lovely tables with rose petals and candles. Live music was awesome. While lots of wait staff assisting, our waitress tended to forget us. Also found holiday menu very limiting, no salad option, and felt over priced for what we got. The steak was cooked perfectly but I choked on the saltiness. Three desserts were available. Our favorite was the mango dish - it was the highlight of the meal. Chocolate mousse was disappointing - very dense and heavy.

Decided to come to this restaurant for Valentine's Day with my date. I'm glad that I did, the service was great as was the food. I ordered the lobster and my date had the steak. The lobster was delicious and the garlic butter was a great addition to the lobster. My date had the steak and raved about it. We also ordered the truffle fries and shared it. Lastly, we ordered some wine and enjoyed the live band that was playing. Overall I am happy with my experience.

I've been to this restaurant over the summer and had a pleasant experience. The food was good but nothing special. I loved the service so I decided to come here with a few friends. I dont know what they changed since then but the food was phenomenal! The steak salad I asked for rare came out so. I previously ordered that on my last visit and the presentation was a complete 180. Portions were great. The service was still exemplary. I would definitely recommend steak n lobster especially after a game at MSG (which is a few blocks away).
Be the first to ReplySmall portions, limited choices.
The menu did not indicate that the spicy lobster roll has apple and celery. Was not a fan of the celery in my lobster roll. The roll didn't have much lobster and the bun was not warm. Cool looking bar.
