Romantic sharing!
I was looking for a romantic interactive experience, and Stable fit the bill. Service was strong, friendly, and efficient, and the owner was ever present making fun anecdotes and keeping the energy high. Food is basic but fresh and well presented; but you go for the fondue, and it was delicious! Rugged yet intimate, the interior finishing was fun and welcoming. The only thing I would negatively critique is the paper napkins. C'mon guys. Will most definitely be back!

Delicious, delicious, delicious! Great menu for meat lovers and vegetarians. Excellent quality ingredients, thoughtful menu, and welcoming professional service. Great for breakfast, brunch, and dinner. Scrumptious baked goods .

Great spot for breakfast, the croissants were pretty good. Definitely love the vibes here, sat all the way in the back, very private. Service was a little slow, took forever to get our food

I wouldn't pretend that my wife and I are having anything like traditional fondue when we buy a pouch of pre-made fondue cheese at the grocery store and heat it in the microwave. The things we usually dip include bread, nd apple but also small pieces of ham and pepperoni. Still, we like it enough to have been intrigued by Stable. The cheese was good and there was plenty of it. The apple slices were good, the bread was a little disappointing (grainy and crumbly vs. the baguete we use at home). I liked the pickles better than I expected. We were a bit disappointed that there was no meat to dip but perhaps that's traditional. My riesling was excellent and others enjoyed their drinks, too. The creme brulee was a nice finish. All in all, an excellent evening, even if it wasn't quite what I expected.

We ate outside under the canopy area. Somehow they were able to set up this area in the streets. At least 6 tables . Street side closed off so u don’t see the the traffic. Great food and wait staff. Good variety of Shareables, drinks, and entrees. Reservations needed

Delicious Swissfood like Fondue, Raclette, Rösti and good Swiss Desserts like Vermicelles. Really friendly staff! I can recomend it.

Went there with friends for a late lunch/snack and was pleased overall. Ordered a bratwurst and buerli. The brat was quite good but the bread was outstanding. The Aperol spritz was well made. Would def consider going there to try their fondue at lunch or dinner. Staff was friendly. Surroundings pleasant

We really enjoyed our dinner here. The staff is incredibly friendly, and the indoor chalet felt truly personal. I had the vol-au-vent, and it was excellent.
Be the first to ReplyFondu is good, Staff is nice
Had lunch here on a Saturday in a party of four. We had a reservation and I'd say reservations definitely required.
Fondu was good, as was the small sausage appetizer. I'd like if there were meat options as part of the main fondu dish. Many fresh pastries and bread available and they looked delicious, though I cannot comment on the taste as we didn't try one.
Staff was courteous and attentive. Tables inside and outside. Prices a little high.
Recommended.
Even better than last time
New Years Eve, table outdoors, under big-umbrella cover during the rain, with Swiss army blankets and a private heater for warmth, party of 4, two fondue pots, and all the sides we could possibly order (potatoes, gerkins, apples, and salad, plus bread): This was an amazing, fun night with excellent food (appetizers, salads, soups, drinks, desserts), excellent service [especially given NYE and the pandemic]. The fondue is a pretty penny, but I'd come back again for a special occasion. (Plus I could hardly even touch the large, fabulous drink menu.)

Craving authentic Swiss fondue or raclette? Stable is the place
Looking for a cozy place for casual cocktails and charcuterie ? Stable is the place
Celebrating a special occasion? Stable is the place!!
Stable has so much soul and flavor that you keep coming up with reasons to stop by. The friendly attention from the owners and their staff is always inviting. While Swiss fondue and raclette are definitely must try options, Stable also offers freshly baked breads and dazzling cocktails (please try the Swiss Cartel!).
During the summer months, we stopped by in the morning to grab a Schnitzel Sandwich prepared by David and a beer or cocktail from their beer/cocktail/wine market to fuel up energy for the weekend bike ride –once Silvan recommended us to try one beer that was absolutely tasty.
We also snagged a spot and tried their pop-up patio at Pier 1354 as this provided an open summer-inspired space to enjoy delicious mussels (spicy good!!) and shrimp cooked in garlic, butter and special spices (chef's secret!). Everything that comes out of that kitchen is simply exquisite.
Now that they have opened their pop-up fondue Little Stable, we couldn't be happier. The space is dreamy, with adorable string lights, cozy blankets and a couple of heaters, you don't need to look further as we endure the transition to winter.
Just a week ago, the team at Stable gave us the precious gift of helping us host a lovely fondue dinner on our wedding day. With our parents stuck in lockdowns in Argentina and Mexico, we didn’t have any other choice than to celebrate our marriage through zoom at home, which was nice given the circumstances, but we still wanted to celebrate this joyful moment with our closest friends in DC. Silvan and David worked with us patiently and followed all the guidelines from CDC and the Restaurant Association in DC to make our special dinner not only delightful but also very safe. All our friends complimented the organization and the service. The food, the presentation and the attention from all the team was absolutely outstanding. For us, to see everyone happily sharing all this together made our day even more special.
Thank you for sharing your love for Swiss flavors and for bringing an authentic proposal to the DC dining scene!
Superb Swiss Abendessen
Since we have no Swiss [nor even German] restaurant near home, we seek them out. So I had high hopes for Stable; our expectations were exceeded! Never have we seen Tete a Moine sp? cheese served outside of a privat home in Switzerland. This delectible cheese was beautifully arranged as flowers. It was also a treat to be able to observe the preparation of our meal. Visit was actually May 24, 2019.

My husband and I have been to Stable twice in the last two months. If you like traditional Swiss food, Stable is the place to go. The food is delicious, and the atmosphere is delightful. We really liked the 'rustique' decor. It is also fun to watch your food being prepared if you are sitting in the front of the restaurant.

I just popped in here before a play of Mosaic Theater’s in the Atlas Performance Center across H Street. I had a great pear schnapps based cocktail and some very tasty wings, finished with an excellent glass of Austrian Gruener Veltliner. It was all lovely. Beautifully presented, with most welcoming, friendly and efficient service, and the diningspace at the back was cosy without being claustrophobic. A definite recommendation if you are going to a play across the street, or you just want some Swiss (Austrian) cuisine. The fondue looked great!

It was well worth our trip from the 'burbs to check out Stable. The meal cannot be separated from the quality of the experience. The host and owners (one of whom was at work in the open view kitchen) frequently came by to chat. This did not seem intrusive or pushy. They were very genuine, like sincere new neighbors, there to answer questions you might have(not rush you or upsell). Their love of Swiss food is evident in their extensive knowledge as well as the unbelievable level of detail and care put into every course. I highly recommend the spaetzli appetizer. We ate at the Chef's table, which allows you to see your dinner come right off the pan. It does get a bit warm there...so dress in layers for comfort. Prices are not cheap, but very very fair given the level of attention afforded each dish. Make an evening of visiting this place. You won't be sorry.

This was our second visit to Stable. On this evening, we were able to get a large table in a corner of the back room. It was perfect for our group of 6 adults and 3 and 5 year old children. We shared appetizers of cheese fondue and racketeering with cheese - everyone was happy (and fairly full) but we continued on... entrees of Veal Zurich and Vol au Vent were very good, and we liked the Rosti potatoes that came with entrees. We shared a couple bottles of a very pleasant Gruner Veltiner with our meals. It was a lovely meal. Service was excellent and a good time was had by all!

Stable has a warm, friendly feeling, with an open kitchen. The owners are usually on site to make sure you have a good experience. We usually get the cheese board to start. A wedge of cheese, pickles, and home-made bread has never disappointed. The cheese selection changes, so it's always fun to try a new cheese. The menu is small, but there is enough to choose from. I tell myself I'm going to try something new, and then I go back to the venison loin, cooked perfectly medium rare and so tender you can cut it with your fork. We have not gotten the fondue or the raclette, traditional Swiss dishes, but I understand that they are good as well. This is one of my favorite places on H Street, and I certainly plan to go back.
