Spinners Rooftop Grille Gulfport Reviews from The Last Year
Upscale fine dining with the best view and underwhelming food.
The menu is subpar for the high pricing and choices of dishes. There are only 4 appetizers to choose from and none of them were appetizing enough to order one. And you have to ask for bread service. I ordered the $64 sea bass for my entree with the Oscar style crab cake add on. I don’t the think the fish was actually sea bass and the crab cake tasted fishy. Not fresh at all. The ambiance of the restaurant is upscale and beautiful but the menu does not reflect that. I have eaten at this restaurant several times over the years and the menu seems to change every time I go. They still haven’t figured it out yet… the best thing I have ordered repeatedly is the chocolate torte. Spinners is supposed to be the best restaurant in St Pete but I assure you they are lacking majorly when it comes to the food and you’re ultimately paying for the view.
Breathtaking views
We had drinks on the rooftop. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our experience. The views from the bar were breathtakingly beautiful.
Great for views if you don’t mind crappy service & subpar overpriced food
Amazing view, but service & food below average. Visited on a Monday evening with friend. Spectacular view is only positive. Service was very slow and sub par. I even had to get my own water when I couldn’t get attention of any wait staff. Food only average and fish was quite overcooked. Certainly not worth the money. Very disappointed. Service should be stellar at this price point.
Excellent views and service !
Excellent food and service was breathtaking 360°! Waiter was very kind, friendly, and super helpful. The food portions were perfect. Decent sizes menu and drink menu. Gluten free options available! Everyone was very friendly.
You are most certainly paying for the view, so if anyone
You are most certainly paying for the view, so if anyone believes otherwise you are fooling yourself. Yes, the prices are high, but I would not take back the view for anything. We ordered the filet and grouper with a crab cake and rice. The filet was prepared to order with good flavor. The grouper was good, but I wished it was cooked just a little longer. The rice was a perfect complement to the grouper. The crab cake was not good and lacked crab. Our server was pleasant and helpful in selecting my dinner as I was tossing between two items.
Excellent Scenic Fine Dining
We had an amazing dining experience on a Wednesday night. Our reservation was for 7:30 pm. so we had great views before sunset at 7:56pm. The restaurant turns 360 degrees, and provides nice scenic views of the ocean and surrounding area since it is on the 12th floor of the building. We ate inside by one of the windows. Our server Matthew was excellent. Very friendly, efficient, attentive and accommodating. He made sure we got our dishes just the way we wanted. Service was like clockwork--everything spaced out perfectly, but we never felt rushed. The house salad was very tasty, and the grilled grouper with crab cake special was wonderful. The fish was perfectly prepared and tasted delicious. The Florida orange cake for dessert was incredible. The wine list is not extensive, but we did have a nice pinot Grigio and malbec. The only thing we missed was hot espresso for dessert. The restaurant only had cold espresso that they used in martinis. But that did not detract from our wonderful dinner. The restaurant is not inexpensive, but we felt we got good value--expertly prepared food, nice ambience, terrific service, and beautiful views. Definitely recommend this restaurant for scenic waterfront fine dining.
Came here with my fiancé for dinner Friday night.
We sat at the bar for dinner. The decor is outdated and some is just missing from where it was hanging, instead showing the hardware sticking out of the wall with no picture on it. The bar selection was not good. Limited liquors and their cocktail menu was boring and basic. We ordered the butternut squash appetizer that ended up tasking more like a desert. We decided to get the Seafood puff Pastry. It came out cold, the shrimp and scallops were low quality and over done. A random guy sitting next to us ordered the lobster Mac and Cheese. He asked if he could get a half portion because he didn't really want it as his whole meal and they told him no. When his Mac came out it was cold too. Next, a waiter brought someone's half eaten food on their plate with their used fork next to my fiancé and pushed it into a togo box right next to him. He then left the dirty plate and fork on the bar right next to where my fiancé was eating. We couldn't eat the $44 seafood pastry meal because it was so gross. We paid our bill and went to another restaurant down the road and had a MUCH better experience. Never again. Stop portraying yourself as a high-end restaurant and charge higher prices for crappy food, dated decor and limited menu. The only good part was the view. I recommend going to the outside bar for a drink and the sunset, then going to a real restaurant for dinner.
The quality of the food does not match the price .
The view is amazing . have a drink and not a sit down meal . disappointing dinner .
Great view
You go here for the view it is spectacular. The food is marginal. The menu has changed in the last couple years and not for the better. I had the Grouper which included a crab cake. We enjoy seafood all over Florida in the winter and this was the worst grouper that I’ve had. My wife had a seafood patisserie which she enjoyed. The service was excellent. We will be back because of the view but I’ll have a salad.
I headed to Spinners on a Friday night with my boyfriend
I headed to Spinners on a Friday night with my boyfriend for drinks and sunset vibes, and boy, was it a treat! It was his first time there, and we dove into an old-fashioned, espresso martini, and mai tai. The drinks were not only delish but packed a punch. The views? Absolutely stunning, with the sky showing off its best colors. The service was top-notch, speedy, and super friendly. Spinners definitely knows how to mix up a good time with great drinks, gorgeous scenery, and quick, smiley service. Perfect combo for a memorable evening!
Food was good but service experience was poor.
Was really excited to try this place as we heard many positive reviews and was excited to have a nice dinner out on our vacation. The hostess was quite nice, the food was good but the service was not very good. No refills on water, askrd my daughter if she wanted another drink but completely forgot to bring it. Asked if we’d like yo see the desert menu, but neglected or forgot to bring it. Then printed the bill right in front of us and brought it and says you didn’t want desert right? Unfortunately this made the experience poor and we will choose other establishments in the future.
Food was delicious, very flavorful! Now the view.
. that was a beautiful view, made the date romantic. Will definitely dine here again!
View was excellent.
Food was great. Highly recommend the Lobster Mac and Cheese! Only reason I couldn't give 5 stars is our server wasn't very friendly.
Bellwether rings the bell!
Spectacular view and sunsets on 12th floor deck! Libations available at 4 P M. Inside restaurant area slowly affords panoramic views of St Petersburg back bays as well as the Gulf. At ground level is Bongos beach bar offering food, drink and usually music. Bellwether hotel pool adjacent overlooks the sandy beach. Parking in front of hotel. A good stop if looking for sights & sounds!
A great experience and the view is spectacular, you do
A great experience and the view is spectacular, you do however pay for that experience. Market fish ran me $67 for a pan seared grouper with rice and asparagus + a crab cake on the side (was included). It was delicious. I'd recommend if you are ready to spend.
Great sunset
Kelsy, our server was one of the best servers we have had, Food was excellent, views fantastic. Saw a beautiful sunset. Chef came out to meet us, which I enjoyed. Only reason for not giving 5 stars is that it needed a little sprucing up. Paint, repairs, etc. For the price paid, all should be perfect
The food was good and they were very accommodating and
The food was good and they were very accommodating and patient with our group. We didn't realize reservations were required and they still seated us. We drove an hour an appreciated the accommodation. Bri our server was such a pleasure. She was very patient with my grandson with special needs and handled him like a pro. Would definitely return.
Spinners is hands down one of the best restaurants for
Spinners is hands down one of the best restaurants for views in the area, thanks to its rooftop location. The panoramic vistas are simply breathtaking and make dining here a truly memorable experience. While the food is pretty good, it's the cool spot for the views that steals the show. I celebrated my birthday at Spinners last year, and it was a fantastic choice. Our waitress went above and beyond to make my birthday special. She surprised me with three complimentary desserts, all of which were absolutely delicious and added an extra touch of sweetness to the evening. The culinary experience at Spinners is also commendable. Both the salmon and steak dishes were cooked to perfection, showcasing the chef's expertise in preparing delectable meals. As if the food and service weren't enough, watching the sunset from Spinners' rooftop was truly mesmerizing. I can't wait to come back to Spinners and relive the wonderful memories. Whether it's for the stunning views, the great food, or the exceptional service, Spinners has definitely earned its place as one of my favorite dining spots in the area.
The view and atmosphere were beautiful.
My husband ordered an $88 steak and asked for it medium rare. It came out well done. We sent it back and the second steak came out medium well. They offered us dessert to apologize but after being there for over two hours with no dinner for my husband we were ready to leave. This is my third time at spinners. They do other things well but have a very hard time getting temps right on steaks. Needless to say we won't be going back. It is too expensive for that type of service.
This was the best Lobster Mac & Cheese I've ever had! We
This was the best Lobster Mac & Cheese I've ever had! We also got a coastal cake w a MAI TAI! The drink was very strong and tasty! That was my Partner's favorite crab cake she has ever had. The lobster Mac was unreal and creamy.
It was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I was
It was my first time visiting this restaurant, and I was excited to celebrate my friend's birthday in what seemed like a promising venue. Live and you learn I guess. The panoramic vistas from this restaurant are absolutely breathtaking, making it an ideal spot for a romantic dinner or special occasion. However, while the food was undeniably delicious, it came at a steep price for the a la carte options. Unfortunately, the drinks left much to be desired; they were disappointingly weak and lacking in flavor. Additionally, the bread served was subpar, a surprising misstep considering the high standards set by the rest of the menu. Moreover, the initial wait times for a greeting, bread service, and cocktails were unreasonably long, detracting from the overall dining experience. Our server, although friendly, seemed to struggle with the basics of her job, especially considering the low volume of the restaurant. Given the hefty bill and the numerous disappointments throughout the evening, I left feeling dissatisfied and unlikely to return. Considering the steep prices for both food and drink, I expected nothing short of exceptional service, which unfortunately was not the case. As such, I don't foresee returning unless significant improvements are made across the board. This place is honestly only worth it for the view. I would say the food was worth while if it wasn't so ridiculously overpriced. If you like a nice view, good service, cocktails, and reasonably priced quality food then go Teak at the St. Pete pier. $36 for 3 bacon wrapped scallops $60 lamb shank $72 dollar filet $12 sides Everything comes a la carte and only few thing come with an included side. :(
Went here for my birthday dinner.
The food and the service were really good. The view was AMAZING! Great ambiance at sunset.
Ambiance is not fancy.
Draw is that it is at the top of a hotel and it gently spins varying the views. The menu is limited, make sure you look at it before you go. Expensive. Service was terrible (non-existent). Seemed like it was the last place she wanted to be. Won't ever go back.
The menu was limited and pricey.
We were a party of 3 and only 1 of us thought their meal was good (Grilled Octopus). Other 2 dinners came out warm, not hot. Chicken dish was not tender. Waitress, Cheryl, was not friendly or attentive. Guess all the hype is on the spinning floor, but at night you can't see the view anyway. Their are better restaurants around with more quality meals at reasonable prices and friendlier staff, like Snappers
I typically do not give bad reviews.
We've come here before and thought the food was very good, but this time the food wasn't worth the money. The food was dry, and had no taste. The view is great. The cleanliness is not what you should or would expect from a restaurant that charges what they charge. If you're considering coming here, my suggestion would be to rethink it. Go for drinks just below the restaurant (10th floor) to catch the view, then go somewhere else for dinner.
Tables squeezed loud place for a 5 stars rest. 5 margaritas all different Sea bass way too salty but sorry NO
Tables are too squeezed , 5 margaritas all tasted different , very loud place for a supposedly 5 stars restaurant. Tuna tartar was good but ( sea bass …. ) and all the rest were honestly terrible just like eating salt , BUT WE DID GET A SIMPLE SORRY .
Don’t try the steak.
The view, drinks, and appetizers were great! Worst steak we have ever had. We ordered medium rare and received medium to medium well. Ordered the bone-in NY @ $88.00. Have had much better at Longhorn. We were expecting something along the lines of a Ruth Chris or Fleming’s. Sadly disappointed.
Handled our party of 20 very well - Amazing concept
Was here with our business group and had a great time. We were 20 people and they were ready for us and started things off immediately. Waiting for food and drink was a bit longer than normal but that is expected with a larger party. Drinks were delicious and food was enjoyed by all. My lamb shank was tender and good but the sauce was a bit sweeter than I would have preferred. Those that had steak and seafood were pleased. The view is hindered by darkness but you can still see a beautiful array of activity and city lights on the coast side. The decor seemed a tad dated to me. The rotation is really cool. Most would really love the novelty of that. We would return.
Stunning Views
Great selection on both the food and drink menu. Fantastic views. Our server gave great recommendations for menu items.
Spinners is NOT worth your time or money
What a disappointment. We were there to celebrate my mother's 83rd birthday. This was a particularly important birthday as we just lost our dad a few months earlier. Although our waitress was friendly and semi-attentive (I suspect they may have been understaffed), there is nothing about this restaurant that feels special, other than the view. It is tired, limited and WAY over-priced. Her NY Strip was $98 and came out overcooked. She didn't receive her replacement steak until the rest of us were done with our meal. To their credit, they did comp her the cost of the steak. The vegetables were cold - refrigerator cold. They had limited bar choices. We had to ask for simple things like a glass for a beer or a bowl to put empty shells. The $14 coconut creme cake was dry and tasteless. The lighting is harsh and the decor is dated and lacks warmth. We don't mind paying a premium for a good meal - in fact, we are often HAPPY to pay a premium for outstanding service and inventive cuisine. This was not that. For the price point, and quite honestly, even for a lesser price point, Spinners is over-rated and underwhelming at best. If you want the view, go to the 11th floor for drinks, the sunset and an appetizer then take your selves and your money somewhere else. Even a burger or a taco at one of the numerous beach bars would be better than this.
Hubby Bday
My husband really enjoyed bday weekend. The food was reasonably price and very Delicious. The view was breathtaking!
Espresso martinis
Spinners bar is a little hidden gem, I’ve been in st Pete for 3 years and finally went here for the first time over Christmas. I had the BEST espresso martini I’ve ever had by Bree, the bartender. You can tell it was real espresso. Worth the price for the view and service! Level 11 looked cool too but it was too chilly for me to try it out, I’ll save that for next time.
The actual restaurant spins but so does your head after paying the bill.
Go here for the novelty of a rotating restaurant high above the cityscape. The food is above average, the service is very good but the high prices are a reflection of the novelty. Don't go here if you have motion sickness. Even though the movement is barely perceptible, it does have an effect on some people. Sitting outside would solve this problem.
Spinners is the place to go!
We were a family of five, and we had the most memorable time at spinners last night. Isaiah was our server, and he was impeccable. He worked with a flawless team. The kitchen out performed themselves entirely. Everyone of our entrées were exceptionally good. The atmosphere was lovely and we will definitely be back.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.

Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here

perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
