A perfect escape ….
Spago is the perfect ‘escape’ from another Viking Cruise meal …when you moor in Budapest ! Great location , lovely surroundings and a really interesting menu . They were able to accommodate our group of 10 friends easily . We enjoyed our ‘escape’ thoroughly .
A fine dining treat!
A Michelin quality fine dining restaurant. You can enjoy a view of the kitchen as a series of sumptuous and beautifully prepared dishes are served to you. One of the highlights of a 3 day trip to Budapest. Itinerary on LovetoWander.
Overpriced and bad service
Ignored by staff the second time round, the food was ordinary nothing special not worth a Michelin star, over priced for what u get and too loud.
Celebrating our friends 50th.
Shockingly bad service. Very high prices for drinks with 27% surcharge with rude staff. And given table right at the back so no view of the waterfront. No special requests fulfilled given it was to celebrate a 50th birthday. Real shame as beautiful bar and location
Average food
We were excited to try out this restaurant, but food was quite average , it lacks personal touch , the goulache soup was salty and flavourless , salmon pizza quite regular , and tuna tartar cones were decent, wines were the only saving grace , for the price we pay it’s not value for the money , the lunch menu is very limited and there was constant noise from the kitchen if you are sitting inside . We ate much better food in other restaurants in Budapest in decent price
Don’t go- worst ever!
I’ve been in many Spago restaurants, especially LV, but the experience here was dreadful. It was mainly the service, being ignored most of the time unless I asked. Ice cubes took forever. Check was the same. Merely asked for everything. Usual when dining solo, you receive extra attention. This was not the case. Spoke to the manager who said it was his fault and should have had more servers in that area. Also the 97.00 for a salad and pizza was obscene.
Excellent Place for an Excellent Dinner
I will not soon forget this special birthday. Spago Budapest is, in a word, fantastic, the menus are tasty but also special in the composition of the ingredients used. The layout of the plates is great and your taste buds enjoy the different flavors. The wine list is very extensive and if you know a little about wine you can choose the right one, if not the Sommelier can recommend one. Needless to say, the service is of course also top-notch in this classy restaurant.
Amazing meal, superb staff, hidden gems wine
Amazing food, incredibly welcoming staff, very nice setting. You just couldn’t ask for more; the Sommelier in particular offered stellar advice regarding Hungarian hidden wine gems which were nothing short of exemplary, especially for the money (I’m looking to import these to the UK as I write!) The Porchetta was simply to die for, incredibly crispy and perfectly seasoned crackling, yet melt-in-the mouth, gorgeous pork underneath. An utter delight.Seriously, did in-hotel restaurants ever get this good? Not in my experience, this really is a new high, my wife agrees. Well done guys, I’d give you six stars if I could.
A magical two days in Budapest
On my holiday trip, I was looking for a special place to dine and I found this restaurant located in a wonderful area very close to the hotel where I lived, what can I say I was pampered from the beginning to the end of my arrival I was here on two occasions had dinner alone and an aperitif with my friend, they made me spend two unforgettable wonderful amazing evenings the guys are super professional, super helpful and fantastically patient even though you can't speak excellent English I love them, I highly recommend everyone to come here to try their duck, something sublime, magical and special together with an excellent Hungarian red wine, absolute perfection, above all thanks to the sommelier, who is fantastic, super professional and extremely knowledgeable, thank you thank you thank you you treated me like a true gentleman you made me feel special, and I thank so much the guy at the bar named joaquim alias michy, who was super helpful and I loved his enormous willingness to talk to me and my friend, as we felt like we were his friends, I hope we'll see each other as soon as possible . Wow! Spago is abosoutley amazing and wonderful! Where do I begin... I had the best *fourteenth birthday celebrated at Spago, not to mention that I am a HUGE Wolfgang Puck fan. Now, a year later, I am coming back to this review and I have nothing more wonderful to say about it. The food was phenomonal, the Smoked Salmon Pizza with Creme Fraiche and the touch of Caviar is jaw dropping (right now makes my mouth water). Chef Wolfgang Puck was amazing. He welcomed me into the kitchen for my brithday!! And he gave us FOUR free desserts and comped a part of our meal. Oh my god thank you Spago Beverly Hills for this amazing expirence. And Wolfgang I can't wait to see you when I turn 16 (less than one year a way).

Iconic restaurant.
This has been in BH for as long as I can remember. Overpriced as expected for a restaurant in BH. Expect to pay $150 per person minimum. My critique would be that they don't seem to know anything about allergies or don't take it seriously so if you have allergies - repeat them many times so they understand.
Perfect
What a show. This is not a restaurant ita a culinary show. We came there this week i would leave the food to the end... The restaurant is perfectly organized. A beautiful furnished. But when you go inside you meet smiling team. All personal are smiling looking to give you a nice experience. The food was tasty to a level of magical experience. I would go there again for sure

The dessert was absolutely amazing, and I found myself savoring every bite. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the presentation was beautiful.Another standout dish was the salmon pizza. The crust was crispy, and the salmon was cooked to perfection. The flavors worked together perfectly, and the dish was both unique and delicious.Lastly, the A5 Japanese Wagyu was beyond amazing. The quality of the meat was outstanding, and the flavors were rich and intense. This dish was a true highlight of the meal, and I would highly recommend it to anyone dining at Spago.Overall, I had a fantastic experience dining at Spago Restaurant. The service was exceptional, and the food was truly outstanding. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for an unforgettable dining experience.

Came on a busy Saturday night weekend before Valentine's Day. Yet the service, ambience, and dishes were impeccable! Flawless is the best way to describe it. Several staff members checked in with us every 10-15min so we were never left unattended or with questions unanswered. We even ran into THE Wolfgang Puck! He was working himself like a madman. You could really tell the passion he has for his business and food.Atmosphere was very very romantic. Dim flattering warm lighting. A real fire place with giant logs placed between the main dining room and the patio. Nude sketches scattered along the walls. And the thing I appreciated most, elbow space!!! Each table was spaced more than arms length apart. I felt like I could comfortably spread out, talk to my table, and didn't have to shift around when someone walked by.A must go place if you're in LA!

I haven’t eaten in any other hotels in Budapest so not sure how to compare this restaurant but compared to restaurants in Melbourne and Auckland where I live. It was very very good. Wine list was excellent. The menu awesome the beef Wellington fantastic and the room very nicely done. Quite expensive, but you know what you’re getting.
Amazing Valentines and anniversary, my husband surprised me
Amazing Valentines and anniversary, my husband surprised me with this epic dinner! Loved the entertainment (a live band and tap dancer!) and our delicious meal, what a special place and experience to remember. The desserts were insane too, they went all out. I've gone here a few other times for my moms bday, with friends and over the holidays, always a beautiful, fun, grand and lovely time! Service is great. We'll be back.

Spago is one of the most complete and incredible dining
Spago is one of the most complete and incredible dining experiences I've had. I went for my anniversary, and the staff did everything they could to make it special -- 5 or 6 people wished us a happy anniversary, including servers for other tables. All around the service was amazing.To start, we split the burrata and it was very good. Probably not the best one I've ever had, but excellent nonetheless. For our second course, the veal and ricotta ragout cavatelli was out of this world -- perfectly prepared pasta with amazing flavor from the ragout. The main course of the Austria wienerschnitzel was unbelievable as well. I could not recommend those two dishes more. We finished the meal with the cheesecake which was a perfect cap to the night -- it was so fluffy and light. And to top it off, the dish had "Happy Anniversary" written in chocolate, which was a thoughtful touch.Yes, this will be a very expensive meal. But if you're looking to really treat yourself to a truly special experience, Spago is a perfect choice.

I grew up watching celebrity chefs cooking on TV, and this was my first experiences visiting one of my favorite chef's restaurants. Needless to say, it did not disappoint! Every item we ordered off the menu was fantastic, and came with larger portions than we anticipated. I thought Spago would be an expensive restaurant with small plates, but I was proved wrong! Our plate of rissotto was large and I couldn't even finish the cut of salmon they served. I appreciate that for the price of the items! The service was also fabulous, our waiter brought out extra dishes for us to try on the house and made sure we were content throughout the entire experience. This is the perfect place to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or other special occasion!

Me and my husband went for his 40th birthday to an exclusive dinner experience for Valentine's Day (his birthday is on Valentine's Day so that turned our great)I chose the VIP dinner experience which was $290 per person excluding drinks, additional food or gratuity.The menu included 4 dish selections and a seafood platter.Our first impression wasn't the greatest at all and that's the reason why I removed one star, upon our arrival there was a huge line to the valet, however there were no signs to anything so it was a mess, but what made it worse was the valet guy that was extremely rude, told us to "F off" and walked away in our faces because we didn't parked behind the car he wanted us park behind, since it was a mess we had more cars behind us so it just wasn't possible. When I mentioned it to the valet manager she wasn't helpful at all and gave us a poor excuse to an apology, this definitely wasn't a good first impression.What changed our mind was our excellent server, I wish I could remember his name, but he was absolutely amazing and truly caring, he provided us excellent recommendations for drinks and food, remembered my husbands food limitations, and made sure our experience was the best it could possibly be.The ambiance was beautiful, the band that was playing was great, and the food was really tasty.The rest of the staff at the reception gave a very "fake" and snobby facade which you would expect from a restaurant in this location, but in my opinion could be improved.Aside of the dishes I got to take a picture of, we had the burrata salad, tuna sashimi, and a creamy coconut and ginger soup- highly recommend the soup! Sashimi was good but nothing special, the burrata salad is definitely worth the try! But THE STAR of the whole meal was the fantastic pasta, they were like small bites of delicious buttery pasta with a bursting effect of flavors, I'd go there just for that again.Drinks were amazing!!! Highly recommend the scotch with the ginger.Once again, it shows how the service could change yourWhole experience for good or bad, we hope that on our next visit we will get to be assigned with the same server. lol
Top service, outstanding quality
This restaurant is among the best ones for dining. The staff is beyond professional, with great knowledge and accurate recommendations. The food is outstanding as well.
Great restaurant but not exceptional
We went there for a Valentine’s Day dinner. The overall meal was great and the sommelier was spot on with her recommendation. The nitpick parked of the meal, and only because it’s so highly rated and expensive. The courses were not consistent in flavors and were either amazing or a couple were -“meh”. The seafood and duck course were absolutely amazing. Prior to the dinner (a day ahead of time) we were asked about any allergy’s. I noted my allergy to eggs. I was surprised when the salad course came with about 6 soft boiled quail eggs. I should have sent it back but service was rather slow and inconsistent when the server came around. I ate around the eggs, the server eventually came around and apologized. At that point it was too late to resolve the problem. Overall the meal was great, I had higher expectations for Spago.
One of the best restaurants I've been
We are going to come back again. We had a wonderful waiter named Ben and he offered all the best choices from the menu. The food is tasty and wonderful. Dessert is very unique one of a kind.
Delicious food, nice atmosphere but slow service
We were staying at the Matild Palace so decided to eat in house one evening. The restaurant has a nice ambiance, although it does feel a bit small - it would have been nice to sit in the conservatory area. Our food was delicious, although my duck was slightly bland for a Michelin recommended meal. The service was painfully slow. Our wine and starters arrived at the same time which meant we had been sitting for around 20 minutes without anything to drink. This continued throughout our meal. The waitress was nice enough but we clearly weren’t the focus of her attention. Given there are so many other places to explore in Budapest, I’m not sure I would return in a hurry.
Beautiful night, amazing experience!
Me and my husband were celebrating our first wedding anniversary. The waiter was very kind and professional. He helped me choose the food and even give us a dessert as a present! He made sure we felt special in our special day! Thank you soo much! (It's a shame I forget to ask his name) The food was VERY GOOD! The drinks were nice, the whole experience was amazing! Thank you!

Night ruined by rude waitress
Went there for a special occasion and from the very beginning the night was ruined by a very nasty waitress, "Kristina" was her name (black hair skinny young lady). First I asked to change my table to a better one with a view, we had just arrived the other table was free, so not a big deal but right away I noticed her mumble on her own as she was preparing the table, ok sorry for the extra work but up to here no problem for me. But then every other time she would serve us she would act as if she was doing us a favor, not helpful at all in any question we asked and she took all our plates away in a rush, I felt like I was eating in a cheap diner. The best part was when our bottle of water (not placed on the table) vanished after 1 glass, so I told her "I think somebody took it because I only had 1 glass and the person with me was NEVER given any" and her reply was "RELAX its just water, the next one is on the house"... Relax? this is how you speak to customers? I asked her for advice on dessert and she just had a smug face the all time. At the end the bill came and I asked if I could pay in Euros, she said yes, so I said "can you tell me how much it is in Euros?" and she looked at me as if I had to make the conversion, then told me one price, I gave her the money and came back with change for a total different amount. Food was good (not amazing) the desserts where really good however. The other waiter were very nice, what you would expect in such a place. So why did I give only 2 stars? Because I work hard for my money and cant afford Wolfgang's restaurants all the time and it was a special occasion, so obviously her whole demeaner really ruined my night. Not to mention that 15% gratuity is mandatory so the rude waitress got 42 euro just to act like a nightmare

That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* ElaborateHouse74, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* ElaborateHouse74 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to ElaborateHouse74 for any questions Peter may have as ElaborateHouse74 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* ElaborateHouse74 now uses their connections at Spago Budapest by Wolfgang Puck to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If ElaborateHouse74 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, ElaborateHouse74 receives the $200 reward which is credited to ElaborateHouse74's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Spago Budapest by Wolfgang Puck!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
