definitely a place for pictures and aesthetics! Good idea
definitely a place for pictures and aesthetics! Good idea to get a reservation as they fill up quickly.. everything comes out picture perfect, food, and drinks especially.. we didn't order any ourselves but they are very creative! I will say the portion sizes for what we ordered were huuugeee but still tasty and an overall good experience.

We have tried the Menlo Park location twice and we're pleased both times before and wanted to have cousins try the fare . Excellent as expected, service was great as well as we were greeted promptly though a bit before our reservation We highly recommend Son & garden for their exquisite cuisine excellent service

Finally made it to their San Francisco location, definitely not in a great neighborhood, which made me prefer the one in Menlo Park a bit more. We were early but the place got filled up quick. Everything we ordered came with a huge portion and tasted really good. The drinks were pretty and had the right amount of alcohol for brunch. Since we were early, all the drinks and food were served and refilled fairly quick. Love this place but not too much for SF location.

Peter was super friendly and quick with our service!! He even sang happy birthday and brought a small dessert
Be the first to ReplyCool vibe, we went for my birthday.
It had a very cute style with the grass look and a nice photo opportunity soon as you walk in (although the entire place could be ). I enjoyed my food and had good service!! Would like to come back for dinner

Service was fast and friendly! Food was piping hot and DELICIOUS simple but homey. This was the best place for Galentines date with my bestie- I saw all the girlies were there having little dinner dates which was cute! I love the dishes and the vibe, I kinda wish the lighting was adjustable bc it would have been nice to see my food in actual color but it tasted good so A- bc they charge same price for virgin mocktails as they do actual cocktails.
Be the first to ReplyLovely decor, perfect for celebrations.
Reservations are a must. Delicious food and cutesy presentation.

Horrible service wouldn't take my military ID and proceeded to not serve us and badger us to make sure we wouldn't share drinks, food was old and soggy. Very disappointing

Cute girly decorations. We had spotty service, but food was good. Food highlight is really presentation. Ordered tea, tea pot and cup comes out. I then ask for honey.. no spoon received... endless back and forth just trying to get someone's attention. This didn't sour the experience, just frustrating. Food comes out, crab omlete... different flavors... sun dried tomatoes, capers, celery, crab... not bad, just different. Three main take aways: .. 1. Don't trust reservations when she says, just come we will seat you. No... make a reservation. I called two blocks away, and yet when arrived was liked at like had two heads. Only go if you have a reservation... they pack their customers in. 2. Primary clientele fairly young... think 20-40. Also, a bit urban flavor... in the tenderloin. 3. They add 25% not including tax to the bill. I personally was not impressed with that move. This took our $70 bill to $100. In dirty, but we had two crab omelets... I really don't think breakfast without gold flakes, should cost $100 for two. I'm giving them 4 stars for unique, but will not be a regular.

Honestly first and last time going there. Don't think it's worth it. Food wasn't great. And the wait time was crazy!
Be the first to ReplyWhat a wonderful experience! Don't let any amount of wait
What a wonderful experience! Don't let any amount of wait time turn you away; Omar greeted us, provided hospital service, shared stories and laughs. Every aspect of this restaurant is charming. If you're looking for an brunch photo opportunity (and delicious food) look no further.
Be the first to ReplyYesterday was my first time going to Son and Garden.
The food was great and the service was excellent!! We met one of the owners and he was extremely friendly and accommodating. My friends and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. And that's exactly what it was, an experience. The uniqueness of the decor and the superb detail given to the presentation of the food was far above anything I've ever seen!

We want your credit card information so we can put it into the Yelp systemThe Yelp reservation system doesn't take cards for their reservations. If it did, I would've happily entered it when I made a reservation. So, what is this scam?If they want the credit card information entered into their yelp reservation system then they should have the app reservation system take the credit card information securely directly from the patron. The fact that they want to take it over the phone or have you email it to them loose and an email is suspicious and disrespectful to the security of their patrons. If the woman had been nice on the phone, I may have reconsidered it, but she was incredibly hostile; clearly tired of having this conversation with people or she was just having a bad day and wanted to punch down. Not a good look.
Be the first to ReplyI love everything about this place.
Food, ambiance, service. The drinks are fun, but a bit sweet
Be the first to ReplyEnjoyed our dinner here very much.
The service could not have been better, the food looked great in its presentation, and it all tasted good! At our table we had the veggie burger, the salmon curry, and the gnocchi and everyone raved about their meal!

Be the first to ReplyAfter hearing about the Tea at Son & Garden for quite some
After hearing about the Tea at Son & Garden for quite some time, I decided to splurge and treat my daughter who is home from college for Spring Break. To say that this experience was a disappointment would be an understatement. For a fixed price of $110 for two, we sat at a basic table in a serviceable room decorated with flowers on the ceiling, while, to quote my daughter, a "TikTok soundtrack" played. We were waited on by a completely disinterested server who brought us the "Holiday Tea Set" which, on this, the first day of spring, stubbornly featured a Christmas theme, complete with gingerbread men and candy cane decorations, and reindeer and Christmas tree figurines, all somewhat worse for wear. The set-up was, at best, perfunctory and uninspired. The pastries and sandwiches were delivered in a small painted chest of drawers that had seen much better days, and not in a shabby chic kind of way. The tea came from a selection of tea bags, not itself a bad thing, but for the price the merest hint of ceremony would have been welcome. We each received as a favor a tiny teddy bear which appeared to be vacuum-packed into a tiny plastic tote. As to this last offering, which is basically a throwaway from a dollar store, I suspect most would prefer not to have to deal with finding a way to dispose of it in a sustainable way.Based on what we had heard we gussied up for a special occasion. This optimism was not rewarded. Everyone there was having what looked like ordinary lunch dishes, wearing everyday, even shlubby, clothes. My point being, the hype (and the price) is "special occasion", but the truth is "standard diner in the Tenderloin, with fake flowers". There is no doubt that the price has the special occasion hook built into it because the tea sandwiches and patisserie were fine but neither next level nor abundant. It would be a service to future patrons if the restaurant offered the Tea on a more limited basis that allowed the focus to be on the special occasion instead of shoehorning it in as an afterthought to the daily lunch rush on a Tuesday. Perhaps then it might begin to merit the price. It's worth noting that I ate dinner at Son & Garden the week before prior to going to a concert at the Great American, and was seated next door. Maybe because it was dark, but that was a completely different experience, with engaged service, excellent food and cocktails and a sophisticated ambiance. All in all, we were overcharged for an exceedingly mediocre experience and I was very disappointed as I had wanted to treat my daughter to a special occasion. Next time we'll get cocktails at Zuni.

went to a high tea service and was met with an uninterested waitress and holiday themed treats in march. the box that they came in was dirty. very underwhelming and overpriced.
Be the first to ReplyThe food was good.
Eggs cooked well. I will say the potatoes are slightly salty and over seasoned. The pancakes are amazing, but quite small. I would say plan for $20-35 per person for pricing and plan ahead for parking. There is literally no parking and it is in a very suspicious spot. Needless to say, I enjoyed my time here and there was great customer service. Would recommend if you want a quick bite!

tried this place for brunch for the first time! the interior was super cute and well done! there was also a large party at the middle table for a birthday, so it's good for group events as well as smaller/individual tables got a scramble and a benedict, both were solid/pretty standard for what you'd expect for brunch. the surrounding area isn't all that pleasant, but the front staff checked every once in a while to make sure people in line weren't being harassed, so it was nice that they cared would come back here to try their drinks which look fancy :)

I finally tried Son & Garden after years of wanting to visit and it did not disappoint. Such unique drinks that's creative and innovative! We went during brunch time, I definitely recommend getting a reservation. We were taken to the other part of the restaurant, "Secret" and the decor was so beautifully filled with flowers everywhere. Definitely felt like we were in an Alice and Wonderland movie. With the amazing service and beautiful decor, it matched the excellent food. I got a panini and it was spot on delicious and let me tell y'all, the blueberry scone is freshly baked everyday. It was so delicious we ordered another round!

Oh my god this place is absolutely amazing! My friend and I heard about this place from @sherryeatworld on Instagram. This is literally THE CUTEST brunch spot I've ever been to!The aesthetic and vibe of this place are amazing. It's flower field meets tea shop. I'm absolutely living for it. The staff are super nice and friendly. The presentation of the food is gorgeous. The cute plateware was such a nice surprise! I had the shrimp salad, which was equally spicy, sweet, and savory! By far the best shrimp salad I've had! My friend had the ricotta pancakes. I tried hers, and we both loved them. The bobamosas were so fun! Such a cute twist on a brunch staple. The bubbly champagne and the popping boba work so well together. We will definitely be back! Thank you for the amazing experience!
Be the first to ReplyIf you love being "extra," you'll love Son & Garden.
Brunching here was quite the experience. My friend and I had a very fun time. LocationThough you'd never be able to tell from inside the restaurant, Son & Garden is located in the Tenderloin of SF, making it somewhat unsettling upon first arrival. The good news is that it's popular, meaning that there's always people around which is comforting. SpacePersonally, I love how excessive the decor is. It feels as if you've suddenly walked into a fairytale. The ambience is very energetic (you feel as if there is constantly something happening around you). I think this is because people come to this restaurant solely for the purpose of taking pictures. My friend and I were seated near the entrance, and there was never a moment when someone wasn't taking pictures - whether it was of their food, each other, or group photos. Groups of customers were even asking other customers to take their group photos for them. ServiceThe service was decent. The waitresses were on the ball and visited our table often to check in on us. Our drinks came out quickly. Our food however took a little longer than expected (considering our meals were basic egg breakfasts). We ordered French toast which they forgot about and had to quickly make, resulting in it arriving to our table after we had already eaten the rest of our meals. They did however apologize to us for the inconvenience which we appreciated.FoodFarmhouse Omelet ($22)- It was a basic veggie omelet and I thoroughly enjoyed it. At most restaurants, you usually have to ask for egg whites, so it was nice to see egg white options on the menu. The omelet was served with crispy potatoes, a blueberry scone, and a few pieces of fruit. The potatoes were the star of this plate for me. They were amazing!Deep Fried French Toast ($21) +Two eggs and bacon meal add on ($10)- The deep fried French toast was presented exquisitely, as aesthetic as could be. It came on a dainty plate with fresh fruit, syrup, and even a tiny piece of cotton candy on top (talk about extra). It was good, however, there was so much cheese filling that it was difficult to enjoy the actual French toast portion of it. The toast portion was great on the outside, but soggy within from the cheese. Very flavorful though!- My friend added the "Complete Meal Add-On" to her French toast which was just two eggs, sausage, a blueberry scone, and a few pieces of fruit. DrinksWhen ordering drinks here, you're not only paying for the the drink itself, but the aesthetic. Each one is creative and well executed. But be aware that though these drinks look pretty, they are STRONGLala Land ($18)- Made of tequila blanco, lavender lemonade and ginger beer presented in a fun interactive way!- The drink came with a fog bubble over top that releases dry ice smoke when popped (refer to my pictures)! My Little Ruby Bird ($18)- Made of tequila blanco, hibiscus liqueur, lemon, and sparkling wine- The presentation of this drink definitely stole the show for me over all else. It was brought out on an adorable tree like stand and in the cutest bird glass. I was obsessed!Beauty and the Beast ($18)- Made of ketel one Citroen, lemoncello, elderflower liqueur, lemon, pineapple, passion fruit, and rose bitter- I would recommend this if you prefer your drinks to be sweeter. Filled with so many different flavors and fruits, it was very enjoyable! - It came in a beautiful tall vintage style glass with dry ice smoke and a yellow rose to top it off. Almost too pretty to drink!Overall, I recommend visiting Son & Garden at least once for the experience! It's definitely not the place to go if you're looking for a chill meal, but I'll for sure be going back with more friends because of the fun vibe and aesthetic! If you're thinking about going any time soon, be sure to make a reservation early in advance (ESPECIALLY for weekends). If not, it'll be difficult to get in.
