A beautifully designed and charming option in SoHo
I travel internationally to NY often but decided this time to forgo our usual stays at the chain and, on the recommendation of a friend, booked my colleague and I into the Soho Grand. Iโm really glad I did (subject to my later comments) as I love almost everything about the hotel and the location. It is in the most perfect spot in Soho for exploring NY and my favourite parts of NY (I also used to live here). The rooms are beautifully put together, with comfortable beds and linens, marble in charming bathrooms, unique cabinetry and a super fun snack tray! They were too tempting. The bathroom products are incredible and Iโm going to track them down to take home. The only negatives I experienced were less than warm welcomes at reception as I had read reviews prior calling this out as a plus. I canโt decide if I should take it personally or not as I may not fit the usual clientele. Iโm a boring suit! Also, be warned that the sounds from the very, very fun in-house lounge and bar carries through the hotel. I couldnโt sleep at all the 2nd night and when I called down to reception and was told it would last until 2am, I asked to move rooms. And to their credit they did. But then I had to listen to jackhammers from a nearby construction site all night. Which is why Iโve been up since 3am. Letโs hope I can manage some sleep on my last night tonight! I realise that is out of the hotelโs control but probably something to keep in mind. Finally, I also highly recommend the in-house restaurant for breakfast. It is the most beautiful breakfast room, utterly charming and the service and food was exceptional. I would eat there every morning. I had the avocado toast and it was fantastic. The coffee wasnโt bad either. All in all, a super charming and fantastic hotel option in NY. We will be back, thought perhaps on less busy nights!
Be the first to ReplyGreat place for couples!
The staff at the hotel is lovely and very accommodating. Leidy (spelling? sorry) at the front desk made sure we were taken care of and made my bday trip extra special. We really enjoyed the location, fun bar, walking distance to two major subway lines. Loved it!
Be the first to ReplyGreat Team, Great Hotel!
I've only ever had a great time at this hotel. THANK YOU to the entire team for creating an awesome experience for such a special occasion, the Terrace Suite is incredible, no other hotel we'd rather celebrate at..... We will be coming back!!
Be the first to ReplyA Fantastic Hotel
The Soho Grand is one of my top three NYC hotels. Friendly, professional, courteous, welcoming. Elegant but never fussy. Old-world but lively. Great rooms. Lovely lobby bar-restaurant. Interesting neighborhood. Great value. Highly recommended.
Be the first to ReplyConsistency and comfort with a cool vibe
The Soho Grand is one of my go-to hotels when I'm in the city for work. I've stayed here 20 or 30 times and it's got all I need: Comfortable and quiet rooms, great bar and lounge (I often meet clients at the bar), friendly front-desk service, and a nice break from the anonymous sameness of big brands. The location is great if you want to be in Soho; lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. As a regular guest I often get an upgraded room, and appreciate the recognition, although the hotel doesn't seem to have an official loyalty program. If you look closely the hotel is starting to show a bit of age around the edges, and the rooms could probably use a refresh in the next few years, but the hotel doesn't yet feel outdated. There can be a little noise from the street, but no more than at any other hotels in the city. Overall, the pros far outweigh any minor cons.
Be the first to ReplyGreat Property at a great location
We had a fantastic time at the Soho Grand Hotel. I originally chose this hotel because of its location. It is the midpoint via subway to Brooklyn or Uptown Manhattan. We discovered a wonderful property with comfortable rooms, great food, a wonderful bourbon bar, and excellent service. Leidy at the front desk was always helpful; she went beyond the call of duty to make our stay even better. I highly recommend this hotel.
Be the first to ReplyThank you Tsering!
We came to the soho grand for a coworkers birthday and we had a fabulous time. Our server, Tsering, took care of us and made sure the birthday girl was treated despite how busy it was! Food and drinks were wonderful and bringing out desert with a candle was the icing on the cake. We will definitely be back soon!
Be the first to ReplyTop-Tier Experience for 2 Native New Yorkers
As a native New Yorker and a very experienced international traveler, I had visited Soho Grand's luxurious restaurant/bar numerous times and always enjoyed myself. This weekend, however, I decided to book an overnight, staycation for my significant other and myself as a couples get-away. I'm so glad that I chose Soho Grand for our quality time. I arrived to the hotel after a long day of business travel and was warmly welcomed by the exceptional Barrington Roberts at reception. His easy nature and kind banter made for some of the best hospitality that I've ever experienced in all of NYC. It set the tone for our entire stay and was incredible. It didn't hurt that he offered me a complimentary glass of prosecco during my check-in, as well. Our upgraded room was lovely. Extremely clean, well decorated, well appointed and spacious by NYC standards. The room had a stunning view of the entire city - including the Empire State and Chrysler buildings. The bed was comfortable and a great size for my partner, who is very tall (6'5"). The shower (water pressure, etc) was perfect. The in-room amenities were world class as well - fridge was fully stocked and a basket full of all sorts of goodies. We technically didn't have to leave the room but ended up checking out the Soho Diner, just next door, and it felt like a classic movie scene for us. I can't say enough about the walkability and chicness of the neighborhood. When we returned to the hotel late on a Sunday, one of the restaurant staff was kind and patient to help us find ice even as they were closing for the evening. The next morning, Clari at the front desk was extremely friendly and arranged for us to have a late check out - a much appreciated gesture for our special time together. I think it's important to share that as a couple of color (Black & Latinx), we felt especially safe and welcomed at Soho Grand. We're incredibly thankful for the magical experience and can't wait to return!

Barrington Was the absolute best! I had a great time at the hotel and the check in process was very pleasant. My overall stay in the hotel was great as the rooms were clean and it was in a good location. I thought the aesthetic was a VIBEz I took a photo of the lobby and 200 is a lot of words. Thanks :)
Be the first to ReplyNO HOT WATER!
Overall, beautiful hotel. Enjoyed everything about it. My problem was waking up in the morning to get ready for a business meeting and had NO HOT WATER. I called the front desk and they said they would send someone up. No one showed. So I had a day without a shower. Front desk did nothing about it and pretended like it was someone elseโs problem.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful service, rooms and views. Excellent place to stay in NYC!
Absolutely stunning hotel in the heart of everything. Perfectly sized rooms and comfortable beds with incredible amenities, service and views! From the moment we arrived, we were treated incredibly well, despite having to stand around for 10 minutes while we were on hold with the bank as they froze our Visa! They were very patient with us and got us a table with some water. Bonus points are that it is dog-friendly. We did not travel with our dog, but got our fill by also visiting the Best Friends Animal Shelter across the road. We were moments from shopping, dining, drinks, and entertainment, and will definitely choose this spot as our next hotel stay when we are in NYC!
Be the first to ReplyExcellent service and beautiful rooms
The rooms were so big compared to most NYC hotels that I've stayed in. The hardware and amenities were fantastic and definitely worth the price. Also the staff is insanely attentive and went out of their way to help me wrap a gift at the last minute.
Be the first to ReplyBeautiful hotel but some flaws
The room and building were beautiful and chic. But the walls are thin enough that I heard a dog barking next door for most of the night, a generator or something like it was humming and buzzing all night which interfered with sleep, and the free wifi was not good enough to stay steady or allow us to watch Netflix as advertised. The tv setup is clumsy and difficult to use. I got the sense the mediocre wifi was in an effort to force you to pay for the more expensive wifi package. Otherwise, itโs a physically beautiful place.
Be the first to ReplyGREEDY DOORMAN
I have been to soho grand a number of times. For personal outings but primarily for business functions. Having spent a lot of money on both occasions. The last few times myself and my colleagues noticed that we are being charged by the doorman $100 dollars to gain entrance! Considering how much money people spend . I find that extremely ridiculous, he is rude and extremely arbitrarily with who he makes pay and who doesnโt! I will be taking my business elsewhere!
Be the first to ReplyWonderful stay, great location
We had a great stay. Decor was very cool. Our room was unique and had lots of amenities. The view on the corner unit was wonderful. The location is great for shopping and restaurants. Would definitely come back.
Be the first to ReplyStay here and look no further
Let me say that I donโt normally donโt do reviews but the soho grand hotel is top notch. From the moment you walk in you feel special, and are greeted with friendly people and smiles. The rooms are impeccably clean, and the staff is professional and so nice to talk to. From the moment we sat down we were greeted by Remington in the lobby and he really made our experience that much more special and welcoming. I could not pick a better place for a bachelorette. Will definitely visit again!
Be the first to ReplyThe perfect spot for an anniversary celebration!
My wife and I decided Soho would be the best NYC location for an anniversary weekend celebration in mid-March. The Soho Grand proved to be the best hotel in the area (maybe in all of NYC) as they delivered at the highest level on everything. The prosecco and special pastry creations were a welcome surprise, and an upgrade to room 1110 (corner views) was excellent as well. Our anniversary stay was made all the more special by the staff's attentive and thoughtful gestures. We are glad we stopped in at the hotel bar on 2nd fl. The bartenders are accomplished and professional, while making outstanding cocktails amidst a fabulous atmosphere. We will always consider Soho Grand first whenever we plan future visits to NYC. 5-stars all-around.
Be the first to ReplyBest hotel experience in New York in a while!
The soho grand definitely went above and beyond to accommodate my needs! Such a sweet and kind and hard working staff. The location is perfect if you wanna explore downtown NYC! Itโs within walking distance of all the soho galleries and shopping, and on plenty of subway lines. Itโs also a quick shot to Penn station.
Be the first to ReplyThe Best In NYC
Absolutely LOVE Soho Grand! This is my go to hotel in NYC. The staff is great, the rooms are comfortable, and the overall vibe is perfect. The dog park is my pup's favorite place to be! Can't recommend enough!
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the hype - at all
The room was ok, however the reservation leading up to the stay was a nightmare. When checking in, there was no information of the premises or services regarding breakfast, facilities, bar, food. No engagement from the staff. We decided to have dinner one night at the hotel, however it took 27 minutes before we got to order our drinks(we were told we only had 90 mins at the table when we got there) and the staff were disengaged aswell. A perfect example of a place that lives off of former glory. If you want to pay a lot of money for a nice location with no service- this is the place for you. We will not stay here again.
Be the first to ReplyPerfect Home Away from Home!
Cozy elegance in an ideal NYC neighborhood with staff who make you feel at home...doesn't get much better! Great attention to detail with rooms that are clean, spacious and include thoughtful details. The Grand Bar is the ideal place for meetings, getting work done and people watching.
