Looks tired…is tired!
We haven’t been here in years and the facility itself is looking old. A Saturday night in December shouldn’t have a trash bag over the urinal and a dirty bathroom for starters. My husband doesn’t usually complain but he did this night! The whole atmosphere is worn. I almost skidded across the wooden floors in my heels as I hit what I think was a grease spot.
Steaks were good but the mashed potatoes were course and dry, asparagus was a bit undercooked and lacked flavor. I honestly can’t say I have any desire to go back when there are so many other good atmosphere steak houses in Cbus.
Disappointing
Food was disappointing, steak was chewy with alot of gristle. Wife’s salmon was very small an over cooked. Went there for her birthday an we where kinda ignored, a couple of young cute girls sat in our area an our waiter seemed to be very interested in them.. they were offered extra bread an their glasses were never empty, i had to ask for refills. I told him Christian it was the wife’s birthday an i thought for 170$ she might have gotten a cupcake or something… NOPE Not even an extra bread with a candle in it lol oh well been there an will not go back..

We stopped for lunch mid-afternoon on Saturday while shopping in Easton. We ordered the spinach salad with grilled chicken and the wedge salad with grilled garlic shrimp. Both salads were good size and very refreshing. The outside dining area was quite crowded but the inside dining was more comfortable with plenty of social distancing.

My husband and I have not been back in this area for 6 years, which is the last time we ate at Smith and Wollensky. It was excellent then and it was excellent tonight! My Oscar Filet, was cooked perfect (medium) and was fork tender. Seasoned perfect and the Hollandaise sauce just elevated the filet. My husband had the NY Strip and again it was cooked perfect, seasoned well and with the truffle Mac n Cheese, made him smile. We also split the jumbo shrimp cocktail and Wollensky salad. My Ginger and Peach cocktail was really good as well.
Our server Johnathan was super nice and offered to go over the menu and answer any questions we had. He was attentive but not intrusive and made our dinner with friendly conversation. I did not see any servers standing around and not attending to tables.
We can't wait to come back, hopefully sooner, and eat at S & W!!
Very disappointed
We stopped in on a Wednesday night for coffee and dessert. There were very few people in the restaurant. Even so, the service was very slow. We ordered two coffee drinks and one dessert. The coffee served was lukewarm. Twenty minutes after ordering, our server informed us our dessert choice wasn’t available. We chose the coconut cake as a second choice. It was terrible, very dense and dry. We told the server it wasn’t good and we weren’t charged for it. Based on our experience, we wouldn’t eat there again. We still paid $50 for two coffee drinks. No thanks

Stopped in for a dinner with my wife on Friday evening the weekend of Valentines Day. Service was great but that’s were the highlights stopped. Our salad was a simple iceberg lettuce with a few back on bits drowned in blue cheese dressing. Our twice baked potato was not fresh but eatable. But my wife’s steak with crab and my sirloin were some of the worst steaks I have had anywhere in the last 10 years. Disappointed beyond belief! Our steaks were dry, over cooked and tasteless. I was so flabbergasted that we didn’t even say anything. Just paid and left. Was hoping this S&W could be a place we frequented often.
Be the first to ReplyProfessional service but mediocre food
So, the place is an old school steak house which means you shouldn't expect a high creativity level but this place has drifted into the cheesy realm. The letters on the wall spelling out cocktails and the milky plastic awning shielding the summer time outdoor seating kind of make the place feel like a shabby road-side stop rather than a place with $70 dry-aged steaks on the menu. The cocktails are balanced, refreshing and beautiful presented but the rest of the menu is limited, dated and uninspired. I imagine the chef must hate working there because it is all steak except the lame salads featuring canned mushrooms and cold under cooked potato croutons (not joking), a chicken sandwich, salmon and some frozen crab. The twice baked potato is topped with 2 uncut strips of rubbery undercooked bacon and the nashville chicken so WAY over-cooked that only the middle is edible. Sadly the only part of this place this is elevated is the cost. This place is in serious need of a reboot to reclaim its reason for being before it fades away. Also, two words to consider: brunch menu. No one I know eats a filet mignon at noon on sunday.

Came out of state to visit with family. Our server was fantastic (Thanks Jason!) While the crab cake was decent in my opinion, my daughter and son-in-law thought it was the best thing since sliced bread. Speaking of bread, the starter bread was to /die for./ The steaks were the perfect texture, very tender, and the fat just seemed to melt in your melt in your mouth. Plan on coming back next time I visit!

Today, we dined at About 11:45, I went with the intention of a nice coffee and cocoa rubbed filet, but afte seeing the summer menu, went with the blackened Cajun burger,( first time coming here and not getting some type of filet). The burger was incredible, served with crispy fries and coleslaw.the sandwich was easily big enough for two people and cooked to perfection. I was so full ,I had to get my chocolate cake to go.. The service was top notch ( I believe her name was Cassandra) we were all wearing our masks as we were introduced and my hearing is not so good. But she was an excellent server and took very good care of us.if you've never been here ,give it a try!

First we arrived for our reservation and was told we didn't make one, but they could accommodate. We did indeed make one and the host said it was likely someone just forgot to put it in. No biggy, as long as we get in... well then we were given a server that the recipt said his name was christop, he started off friendly enough, until my wife asked for butter with her cold crab. He made it a point to say that they normally serve that with hot crab. After that he completely dismissed us. I have been a restaurant manager for 10 years and I know that when a server at a nice restaurant thinks that they have a hillbilly at the table they think they wont tip and dismiss them. That is exactly what happened, he had no time for us, very short and no interaction that wasn't completely needed. My steak came out and I couldnt get my fork into it, or my knife to cut it. It was a med filet, no reason to be that hard. They eventually replaced it and it was much better.. my lobster was honestly mushy, like a consistency i have never had in lobster. I didnt bother complaining. Then we ordered dessert and we got the chocolate cake I have had many many times before and was probably the main reason for coming for our anniversary and it was completely dry and had a chocolate syrup like sauce on the outside and not the gnash i love so much. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. $215 for what?
