We celebrated a Birthday at Smith Wollensky's hoping for a great meal seeing as there steaks are as high as 240 .00 so we were expecting the best of everything. Wellthis was not the case for me, I order Chilean sea bass which is a prime expensive piece of fis. I had a nice conversation with the manager to reassure myself that this would be a prime piece of fish and he reassured me they only serve top of the line steak and fish. Our waiter came to serve us our entree which looked delicious at first site but as I brushed away the toppings there lies an end flat overcook piece of fish that did not represent chilean sea bass from my experience. One of the things I dislike when I go to A restaurant and am not satisfied and I have send back my dish is the person I am with is eating alone and when mine comes back the way it should have the first time I am now eating alone. Don't waste good money going here it's not worth it.
I have always been a fan of S&Ws.
Been to several locations and am never disappointed! Solid food solid steaks and solid service. Prices, as expected for a good steakhouse in a big city! Steaks were cooked to perfection, no seasoning needed. Apps are always amazing. Always love their creamed spinach! Our server was on point, manager was very friendly and fun to chat with. Always a solid and good meal!!
Went there and I have to tell you if you are trying to
Went there and I have to tell you if you are trying to impress a date that usually punches above your weight class: Smith and Wollensky will impress them into believing you making about 30k more a year than what you really do. The wait staff is truly top tier when it comes to their craft. Never did I have to wonder where our waiter was for a refill or even for a bread bowl, the bread bowls are great btw. I have to admit at the end of the day your run of the mill steakhouses do not compare to this place, although for what you are spending some other locations are the more worth while. The oysters here are truly 10/10. Better than anywhere I have been to in Rhode Island for one example. This is the perfect place for a nice date, a formal dinner meeting or just something where you wanted to take the family somewhere nice, as I did see many families with children younger than 10. I would again, but I would avoid the ribeye and probably go with the halibut. If you like shock and awe get the tomahawk.
Accidental Visit to Smith& Wollensky - Boston Atlantic Wharf.
Last October (2022) my wife and I (we are from Ireland) visited the beautiful City of Boston for the first time . Both of us were orienting ourselves by walking around the city with no particular destination in mind and as it was mid morning we decided to have our morning coffee. Without paying any attention to the type of business conducted we wandered into Smith and Wollensky and asked for two coffees at the bar to be informed that coffees were not served there. We apologised as we realised that we were in a high end restaurant. As we were leaving the host asked us why we were leaving and we again apologised and explained our misunderstanding. The host told us that of course we would have coffee and insisted we take any seat in the house we wished. Within a short time a waiter appeared at our table with a tray containing a pot of coffee, a jug of warm milk and we each enjoyed two cups each. When we went to pay the host insisted that it was on the house and declined to accept payment. Needles to say both of us were incredulous and humbled by such an act of hospitality to two random strangers that it is a cherished lifetime memory for us. May you forever prosper and care for your customers as you cared for us. Gerry and Kay

poor customer service was rushed to pay the bill after just receiving my food and this happened twice. With the waiter hovering over me every 10 mins great food but worst service

Disgusting! Cockroach landed on our table and crawling during our Christmas 2022 dinner. Personally never coming back here for sure. I cannot justify this happened the manager ran out only rushed taking away the roach in the table cloth and he offered a free entree. The waiter was trying everything he could to help accommodating the situation however the both of the store managers have not come over to apologize. I noticed they gave us looks with an offended response since we told them what we seen. For amount of money we spent in this place a dinner of 13 people, I would have gone somewhere else they are much more clean and friendlier. Thinking back this dinner gave me a heart attack. Grossed me out!
Hey I just wanted to throw a big 5 thumbs 5 stars review
Hey I just wanted to throw a big 5 thumbs 5 stars review first off - my drink order was FAST AND IN POINT, really the perfect drink, refilled quick. Going the beyond five stars is RICHARD, who as host and guest maestro, he went 1000x beyond the beyond. That's 5000 stars for Richard. You saved my ### dude

I've been to other S&W and they have been much better than this one , first the bread was stale and cold , the filet was ordered medium rare and it was over cooked , when it was replaced the second one was also over cooked, the split pea soup was too thick and flavorless. To sum it up it's a NTR ( Never to Return ) restaurant.
Service was top notch (Megan).
Food was good and worth the tab. It takes a lot to give a 5 star review. S&W gets close, but not quite a 5. Would return. We had chowder, Caesar, and Gorgonzola filets. The sweet potato hash was the stat!
Best steaks in Boston
Just had the best steak ever!! Highly recommend this restaurant to the discerning guest. Sarah, our waitress made this night one to remember for a very long time. Being Scottish and not knowing what to order, Sarah, was a mind of information. So we took her advice with food and wine, we were not disappointed. Returned to the Boston Harbour hotel. Feeling compelled to write this review. I would highly recommend staying at the Boston Harbour Hotel, where the food is excellent. But, if you want a steak night then the Smith, will always be a restaurant, I would highly recommend. Well done Sarah and the crew. An amazing evening.
Annual birthday dinner -new city but same great food
We did Vegas last year and Boston this year! My boyfriend loves a tomahawk Steak, so on his birthday when we decided to go to Boston this had to be the choice, last year we ate in Vegas at S&W and it was awesome, This restaurant chain is expensive but very good food. We started with a nice Red wine. They give you a tablet to look through, honestly the lighting isn't great and I don't want to work for my wine, so the waiter was great and suggested a bottle (120.00 from Chile) and it was very smooth. Then we had the scallops, you don't get much (2 large) but the beef and veg with them are so good. Then we got the tomahawk for 2, we ordered half mushrooms and half asparagus, and asked for mashed instead of what comes with it, it was plenty for 2. I also got the lobster tail, which was also very good. I love this place but being Canadian and paying the exchange as well as the prices, it's always just for a special occasion.
Boston location
I can’t say enough about the staff!! Amazing staff! Michelle, Jess and Adela rock the bar! Luis is the best as well!!
