Perfect in So Many Ways
No visit to SLC area is complete unless we do the drive up Big Cottonwood Canyon to Silver Fork Lodge for lunch. We have been doing this for almost 25 years. The food remains as good as it was on our first visit and the same friendly service and stunning views.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and service
I had the Chili Verde Burrito, and it was outstanding. Best burrito Iโve ever had. Cheyenne was a great waitress. No complaints!

Can't believe I've never been here before! I loved it! They have a fabulous deck with great views, as well as a big interior dining area. It's quite rustic, which is charming. The menu is excellent, and the food is wonderful. I was also impressed with their wine list. It's a good mix. Service was also terrific.
Be the first to ReplyExcellent Homestyle Food and Beautiful Location
Excellent food, hearty and homestyle. Food could use a little more flavor. Otherwise great family environment. The restaurant is in a beautiful location.

Many meals have been enjoyed here by me. Great surroundings and atmosphere. Service is awesome. Menu is unique and the food is delicious. Breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

Took a friend here for Brunch, received extra special attention and care beyond words. The setting was cozy, the food filling, and the views expansive. The staff went out of their way for us and we left with full bellies and warm hearts.
Be the first to ReplyHistorical Dream to Present Day Nightmare
Six of us went for a mid-week Birthday dinner. Being that it was the off season (Early October and on a Wednesday), we figured that there would be little to no wait and that we would get great service. We decided on eating here as we used to eat there weekly after night skiing in the late 90's. Back then, they had a killer steak with melted blue cheese as well as a spicy Jambalaya that really hit the spot on those cold winter nights. The ambiance was great too with the fireplace going and the never ending baskets of their well known sour dough bread. So, we figured that we would have the same experience - Wron-goooh! The wait was 30 minutes and that seemed fine. After being seated we gave our drink and orders for entrees. There was a bit of a wait, but nothing crazy. The food was delivered and then we saw the lack of service from our server commence. My wife ordered a $9 burger. It seriously was a bun, looked like a well done paddy, with one chipped pickle. No lettuce, tomato, onion, ketchup, mustard sauce. So, not seeing our server, she flagged down another server to bring some mustard. That never happened. Our waiter seemed to ignore us various times and never came to check on us. You know, the usual, "how is everything? Can I top off your drinks?" That never happened. Upon finishing a sub-par meal, especially for what you are paying, we flagged down another server to bring us the check. She was perturbed that we asked her to bring the check as our server was nowhere to be seen. He did eventually bring us the bill and said that he wished that he could have given us more attention. "Uh yeah, you never stopped by to check in on us." When we started to tell him of our displeasure, he looked at us and said, "I don't care." And then walked away. Wowee, Wowee! I am still in a bit of shock at his response as I write this, a week after it occured. I can honestly say that I have never left a $0 tip in my 50 years strolling around this planet. That is exactly what I did - "NO TIP for YOU!" Come back, NEVER! The thing that amazes me is that even with all of the negative reviews that you and I will read about the Silver Fork Lodge, it will still attract many visitors. It is in a beautiful place and once you are up the canyon, your choices of eateries are limited. Well, I for one will not be heading there again, which is just plain sad. It really could be a great place like it once was.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible experience.
Came out for lunch with the family, after ordering we waited about 45 mins for our food. No problem, we didnโt complain. The fries were cold, and I asked for fresher fries. My daughter went inside to use the restroom, which was locked, and caught our waiter talking crap to the chef, saying we could deal with it and that we donโt need to come back. Please, say less. Decently priced, if you are expecting mediocre to low-grade american food. Wonโt be visiting again.

Beautiful outdoor table with Mountain Viewโs and tasty menu. Casual and friendly. Great place for a quick bite after a hike at Brighton or walk around the lake
Be the first to ReplyNot what it used to be
Wanted to get out of the valley heat, so came up for a Saturday night dinner. Food was very tasty, but VERY overpriced! I had the ribs, my husband had the salmon. Mine came with baked beans and the salmon included rice pilaf and vegetables. No salads,no bread, just the entrees. We had water to drink. The total w/o tip was $60.

Got a recommendation from a friend so we took a drive over from Park City. Really great breakfast and a neat historic building. We tried the sourdough pancakes and they were very good. The eggs benedict were some of the BEST I have ever had. Worth the trip but I hear they stop serving pancakes at 11am.

My sister and I LOVED this place- the atmosphere was beautiful. The view was astounding. Great drinks! Their meatloaf was excellent. The pasta was delicious (it's easy for me to overindulge here!) They were super friendly. There was a 45 min wait, but they were kind enough to chat with us while we waited. The service was phenomenal! I basically chug my coca-cola, and the waitress was able to keep pace. I'm such a pain! Haha! They knew who ordered what food/drink and kept our breadbasket refilled. We're definitely coming back. This was an outstanding experience! Thank you so much!
Be the first to ReplyGreat restaurant after a day on the slopes
Silver Fork Lodge is on the access road in Big Cottonwood Canyon, on the way to and from Brighton and Solitude resorts. It's a bit of a hole in the wall by outward appearance, by inside it's a friendly, rustic and charming place with a cool bar area and nice dining room. The menu is reasonably large, and there's some meat and game among the options. The wine list is large, though contains little that's interesting, but lots of people pleasers on it nonetheless. The Blistered Peppers and Jumbo Chicken Wings (real Buffalo-style) proved to be popular starters. The Wild Game Bolognese, Chicken Schnitzel and, Canyon Pepper Steak were all excellent.
Be the first to ReplyOnly the food was worse than the service!
Had to wait forever to get in and no one was even there! The food was terrible, but at least it was cold. It tasted like we were in a bad high school cafeteria. Would never go back, ever!
Be the first to ReplyThe atmosphere was everything
The atmosphere was everything a mountain lodge should be. This included a large stone fireplace with a roaring fire. Large windows provided a view of the beautiful white snow. It reminded me of a Hallmark movie set! We stumbled upon this restaurant because our van got stuck due to the snow in front of the cabin we rented for the week. We had no food or groceries at our house since we couldnโt get to the grocery store. We were so lucky to have this restaurant near us. Our waiter provided unbelievable service after the rough afternoon we experienced. Upon learning we would have to walk home, our waiter and another employee made 4 trips to shuttle our group back up the hill to our cabin. They went above and beyond for us and we canโt thank them enough.
Be the first to ReplySo cozy!
We drove up big cottonwood canyon and stopped at the lodge on the way down. We enjoyed coffee and a snack by the warm fire surrounded by the amazing views.
This was definitely one of our favorite stops on our trip!
Highly recommended! Amazing staff, gorgeous view and great food
We did not plan to stay at the lodge initially. We had a vacation rental not far but could not access it because of the snow. So we went to the lodge for the night hoping to be able to go our rental the following day. The staff has been so helpful and nice. The owner of the lodge who is also the mayor personally helped us access our vacation rental. The room was great with a beautiful view on the mountains, and the food at the restaurant very satisfying. Highly recommend the roasted carrots and smashed potatoes! We re very happy we found this place
Be the first to ReplyGreat food , great view!
Hidden gem that seems to be passed up by many tourists. We ate out of the beautiful patio that has a beautiful view of the canyon. Very friendly staff. Our local guide said to try the meatloaf and mashed potatoes and it was excellent. Every meal I saw around us looked very good! Wished I had more time to hang out on the patio..will definitely be back.
Be the first to ReplyBEST Bison Burger
First time eating bison. DELISH!!! My son and I enjoyed it so much, we brought the rest of the family the next day! Good clean, well-sanitized areas. All the workers had on masks. LOVED the Silver Spoon the first day (hope there's a connection!!) My 81 y.o. mother loved the food so much, she just kept wanting to return for more! KUDOS!! If I am ever in UT again, will pop in for sure!

Used to be an iconic place to eat. Today, the food was horrible, the service was slow and unprofessional. I won't ever eat here again.
