Quite possibly the best dimsum spot in town! The Chinese
Quite possibly the best dimsum spot in town! The Chinese restaurant at SICC (Island) offers beautiful views of the course and serves excellent seafood, roasted meats, and dimsum. Haven't been disappointed by any dishes so I'll just mention some standouts.Food highlights: Egg tarts (HK style), pineapple char siew bun, prawn cheong fun (thin, smooth skin with a lot of filling), pan fried radish cake (slightly crispy on the outside, served with XO sauce), pork ribs, ่่ง, ๅค็ชIn general, their dessert-style dimsum have a well-balanced, flaky pastry that's not too oily. Food is consistently amazing, servers are attentive yet unobtrusive, and ambience is comfortable. Prices are also very reasonable compared to most high-end Cantonese restaurants. Would definitely recommend for a nice, family dimsum brunch.

This restaurant has some pretty solid dim sum, but I have to say that the best part about eating here was the view. Since it's nestled higher up than the other buildings, you have an amazing view of the trees. It was really nice to be able to look out the huge windows while enjoying dim sum. We ordered the Siew Mai, Ha Gao, Chee Cheong Fun, Chicken Feet, some broccoli and one of the carrot cakes (the XO one). Our favorites were the Ha Gao and carrot cake. It definitely wasn't the best dim sum I have ever had, but I would eat it again. For dessert we ordered the Mango Purรฉe with Sago and Aloe Vera, Mango Pudding, Apple Jelly with Chrysanthemum, Water Chestnut Cake and Egg Tarts. Our favorites were both mango desserts and the Water Chestnut Cake.

SICC is likely to be much more appealing if you happen to be interested in golf. If not, then it's just another country club, albeit with a more pleasant location. We came here to have lunch at the Silk restaurant located at the Island Club Road branch as part of reunion with long lost friends. The food was pretty okay but not exceptional. We mostly had dim sum (I'm a huge fan of dim sum btw, and it's been forever since the last time I had it) because we were craving for it so badly. We ordered a lot but these are the best:Har gao Siew mai Shark fin dumpling soup Fried yam dumplingSmoked duck Among many good things, I had the best impression especially on smoked duck - an absolutely delicious dish with a unique and outstanding taste. The venue is a great setting for a business lunch because the restaurant is spacious and offers enough privacy for every table unlike the other typical restaurant chains, ย that are located in town which you can literally overhear the people next to your table, it's terrible. In addition, it offers great views on the vast golf court through its huge glass front. The service was excellent and very discreet (the waiters are very friendly and polite (so uncommon in Singapore please!!!). Price wise it's very reasonable too, just that the location is quite hidden so you definitely have to drive or get a cab. It is indeed a hidden gem in upper thomson area! All in all it's always an enjoyable experience when I visit this place.
