Be the first to ReplyAll good, except the way the Manager treated us!
The hostess was excellent, very courteous, our sever Miguel was excellent as well. Food superb!! As usual! Except who appeared to be the manager, he was dressed in a black suit, had a thin mustache, who led us to a table we had not requested. He was rude! Finally we sat down, all great! At exit I saw him and said thank you, the rudeness continued, he looked away and turned his back on us. My husband and I go to dinner here often! No way to treat a customer! Very disappointed!
Be the first to ReplyDelicious food!
Great happy hour and fresh food!! The crab cake was top notch! The Old Fashioned was good too and only $8 during happy hour.
Be the first to ReplyGreat way to end the evening
Enjoy sitting at the Bar listening to the band. Service is prompt and courteous and of course the food is great. If you are staying at Hilton Suites make sure you go next door.
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing experience
The fellow who sat us ultimately defined our experience. He was rude, inattentive and uninterested in making our dining experience a positive one. He sat us in a corner with no lighting and then offered a look of disgust when we complained. Ultimately he gave us a table for 4, for a party of 5. He then intimated that we should bring a chair over from another table. We frequent other restaurants of this organization and really enjoy them. By the way, the food was well prepared and served. The management is failing their clientele at this site and more attention should be paid to detail.
Be the first to ReplyA poorly run establishment that does not care about repeat business, I don't advise going there there are better places
The City Fish Market is definitely not the place to go for the following reasons: 1) The place is very noisy, there is no acoustical ceilings of you can't even hear the waiter talk to you or the guest you brought there with you across the table. 2) The portions are fried with too much oil and the salt they use is probably to kill the taste of the fish, those with high Blood pressure should definitely stay clear . I could not sleep the night with the taste of salt in my mouth. 3) The portion of snapper was child size and does not deserve the price they charge, I went away having to eat supper at home three bites and you were finished, additionly it was loaded with cooking oil which I felt was past it's expiration date. 4) I called the Market the next day and the manager was not interested in my complaint and very disrespectful. She needs to understand good public relations is her job. 5) If you need to go I warned you in advance.
Be the first to ReplyThe worst restaurant experience I have had in Boca Raton
This was my second visit, but it was the worst meal I have had in Boca at any restaurant. I sent my halibut back (which I have never done before anywhere) and I will be shocked if the second plate of (undercooked) fish was halibut. The presentation was poor and the only positive was the service. This is definitely my last visit to this restaurant.
Be the first to ReplyHappy Hour
Good spot for Happy Hour. The popcorn shrimp, wedge with filet, and other snacks are good. Drinks are excellent. Service is good.

Be the first to ReplyEnjoyable First Time!
Took my teen son to an early dinner. We were greeted and taken to our table quickly. The waiter was polite and knowledgeable. The fish we ordered were fresh and well prepared. The restaurant is well managed and nicely decorated. The Floor Manager came to our table and addressed me by my last name which he surprisingly pronounced correctly! I put this Restuarant on my list of future repeat visits.
Be the first to ReplyDog at bar being fed on her lap by owner
I have reviewed this restaurant many times and go there for dinner and happy hour at least once a week. However there was a very disturbing incident this week. A lady went into the bar area carrying a little dog (obviously not a service dog) and proceeded to sit at the bar with a companion and the dog on her lap. She was served food and bread and proceeded to feed the dog on her lap. I spoke to the manager and he said the dog is a service dog. (I never saw he manager again), According to law a true service dog is trained to help its owner with a disability. If the dog is not trained as such it is not a service dog but a pet and pets are not allowed in restaurants. Many restaurants now are posting the law on their doors and indicating that if the animal is not a true service dog do not bring them into the restaurant. Publix is starting to crack down on this as well and has posted signs as you enter. As time went on she went to the ladies room and handed the dog to her partner who was sitting next to her at the bar. Again, if this was a true service dog she would have taken the dog with her. I have pictures to show her walking in, feeding the dog on her lap, and having her companion hold the dog for her.
Be the first to ReplyAverage fish and seafood.
For dinner it was not too crowded and the service was good. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was decent. Nothing special. We had the snapper which was overcooked and bland. The veggie side was plain. The crab cocktail was good as was the key lime pie. For a seafood restaurant. The fish was fair which is the key for me.
Be the first to ReplyThe worst place ever
Do not go there. We had to wait a half hour for our table. Then once we got to our table, we waited another half hour for a drink. The manager is so rude. She kept saying theyโre setting our table. If she had just been honest. I will n ver go there again. Boca has plenty of options.
Be the first to ReplyVery good experience
This restaurant has a great selection of different fish and seafood. Entrees were delicious and reasonably priced. Really liked the food!
Be the first to ReplyGreat food, atmosphere, and service although we had to wait to be seated
I will admit that even with 8 pm reservations, we had to wait 45 minutes to be seated. Once we ordered, it took over 30 minutes to get us our food. So why 5 stars? Well the rest of the meal was fabulous. The place was packed with lots of diners waiting for a table even at 8:30 pm on a Friday. They had a great singer in the bar area while we waited for our table. Our server, Kristen (?), was fantastic! The outdoor setting with a lighted fountain in the lake was almost magical! The smoked fish dip and half shrimp/half crab cocktail appetizers were superb! Our entrees (seafood Newburg Au gratin and Grouper Francese) were great! I know many recent reviews have been negative but for us, the excellent food, service, and atmosphere more than made up for the delays experienced by an almost overwhelming number of diners!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing evening after many fine visits
It seems like the last reviewers had similar problems with customer service as what happened to us and makes me wonder if this is now the new norm. We were a party of eight and had an exceptionally long wait for everything. My wife's meal did not arrive with everyone else's and we were told "it was on its way." After everyone else was essentially finished, her plate did show up, but having nibbled on my entree all this time we sent it back. What was upsetting was that the dish ordered was a cold one and required no cooking, only plating. And the waiter made no effort to try and make up for the error by either offering a free dessert or coffee. Instead he did make a big deal about not being charged for the returned meal! When I complained to the manager on leaving noting that I had been here many times, she thanked me for my feedback. Again a voucher for some free drinks or something on a future visit without me asking would have been appreciated. It is bad enough to have lousy service but it is poor form not to try to do anything to make up for a bad situation that was clearly the restaurant's fault. This was all in sharp contrast to the previous evening where we ate at Seasons 52 in Fort Lauderdale and were served by a waiter who did absolutely everything right - and this at a much less prestigious and less expensive place than City Fish.

Our main course was delivered at room temperature and the vegetables were cold. We explained the problem to the waiter who advised the manager. While our friends were having their dinner our food was taken to the kitchen and placed under a heat lamp. When the meals were returned the food was over cooked and not edible. To compensate us for a meals costing $100.00 plus we were offered a free dessert which we declined. When we were leaving the restaurant we discussed our concerns with another manager on duty who didnโt seem to care.
Be the first to ReplyFood good but hostess and manager unacceptable
We were a party of 4 and made a reservation through open table and never requested outdoor seating. The hostess took us to a table outside. My husband told her we wanted to sit inside. She rudely insisted that we requested outdoors and said if we wanted to dine here we had eat outdoors. We acquiesced. The waiter greeted us by a different last name.It quickly became apparent that the hostess desk had erred. Their error was the problem and the hostessโs fresh attitude was unacceptable My husband asked to speak to the manager who came over & cut him off saying โI know all about it.โ He suggested we order something to drink & personally took the order for the bottle of wine & poured it inferring it was on the house to make up for the shoddy treatment. The tuna tartare was excellent and our dinners were good. When the bill arrived the wine was charged. The waiter checked with the manager who informed him that the wine was to be charged but then took 50% off( $26). It was an unpleasant ending to an unpleasant beginning.
Be the first to ReplyShambles front of house, prepare for long waits regardless of reservations.
Absolute shambles. So disappointed we chose to come here for a party of 4 family celebration. Seated 45 minutes later than our reservation time. No apology or explanation from the disorientated front of house hosts. I feel for anyone that took the valet option. The line for car returns was again typical of the general organization experienced. Management need to switch on and step up the service. Despite the generally excellent quality food, will not be returning and will not recommend.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointing dining experience
The atmosphere was very pleasant and the service was good. However the dinner served was very disappointing. The Salmon dish served was unacceptable. The portion of salmon was very small although tasty, but the vegetables accompanying the salmon was barely cooked and actually raw. Nobody came to ask us about the dinner served until it was time for dessert. My wife had lemon sole and her vegetables cauliflower and others were crude. We called the manager to express out displeasure and he credited us for the 2 glasses of house wine that we received which was the least he should have done after my wife and I receiving a half cooked dinner. For the quality of our dinner and the price we paid I would definitely not return to this restaurant. This dining experience was totally unacceptable.
Be the first to ReplyGo elsewhere- this is Pretention Palace!
Go elsewhere- 4 stars are way too much for this pretentious restaurant! Twice returned broiled Yellowtail Snapper and they burned it both times. Stuffed flounder was only about 1/2โ dry breadcrumbs. Do not waste your money!
Be the first to ReplyAppetizers, Wine & Facelifts Galore!
Appetizers, Wine & Facelifts Galore! If the sauce for your shrimp cocktail is so delightful you want to take a sample home with you, it's a great fish place. I had a fairly small jumbo shrimp and crab appetizer, but it was so good, I'm going back for more. This place closes early, which is too bad. Usually by 9:30 pm most folks are gone, even on weekends...I guess late seatings remain longer, but I suggest getting here by 6 pm. It's always buzzing here with the 50 plus crowd. Large percentage of 60/70 plus also. On the other hand, plenty of families here as well! If you like basking in a typical Boca Raton atmosphere, you'll love it here. The view includes experiencing a plethora of older gals who just don't seem to age - Their enhanced cosmetic procedures are the talk of the town. It's where the beautiful people come to dine and enjoy life. What I also love is no sign of rap or hip-hop music anywhere. A solo, dignified jazz player with a sax and I'm good with this place. The valet is always packed, so I just park across the street for free and walk over. Superb central Boca place, near Glades and Turnpike.
Be the first to ReplyReliable? Always over booked
Part 1. City Fish Saturday Night We are already waiting 20 minutes because the restaurant is unable to honor our reservation. We are being told to wait an indeterminate time for people to finish dessert. Management is blaming the patrons for taking to long in their seats. Sad excuse for a restaurant that insists on over booking.
Be the first to Replynot very clean but quite pricey
The wait for the entree was ridiculous - 40 minutes -- it was fish and this is a fish restaurant! And the salmon was overcooked in part, and half ok the other part (not an even portion, which is natural in nature). The broccoli was raw and hard to cut. They were not totally full, so why the long wait? The prices are quite high and if you want additional vegetables they are $8. This used to be a wonderful place years ago but not going back again. Maybe permanent residents of Florida are less picky, but we are only in Boca a few weeks a year so we'll stick to our family-run places closer to the ocean. I do know the best fish dish in Florida- but it's not here. Hint: its initials are MW and there is a review elsewhere on this site.
Be the first to ReplyTerrible Waiter, Mediocre Food
We were a a party of 6, meeting from 3 different parts of the country. The waiter had a terrible sarcastic, arrogant attitude from the very beginning, with minimalist service! All the food was bland, overcooked, & cafeteria style. I had a dish I did not order, but took it, as we already waited a long time for the food to arrive at the table. Also, the prices were too high for the service & food. We were there before the pandemic & enjoyed it then. Sorry to see the bad changes now. We will not return!
