Impressed with this place! They have buffet lunch and a la carte dinner, and buffet dinner on holidays. Live music starts at 8 pm every night. The Papdi Chaat (indian taco) was sooo delicious and my favorite with flavours of mint, yogurt, and tamarind. We got the Tandoori Milawat that has a few pieces of 4 kinds of tandoori grills - chicken tikka, fish tikka, prawn, and kebab. It was great to try different kinds. The Aloo Gobi (cauliflower and potatoes) was kind of mushy and could've tasted better. The Chicken Makhanwala (butter chicken) was perfect with the naan bread. If you like bread, the bread basket was perfect! Plain and garlic naan, roomali roti (thin chappati-yum!), and tandoori parantha (also yum!)We tried the Jal Jeera to drink and it was very different and not something I would recommend. Can't go wrong with the Mango Lassi though.Unfortunately we were disappointed with the service. It could've been much better for the price we pay. Servers didn't clear our table or refill our waters. Most were chatting and standing around. We went for dinner this time but would love to try the lunch buffet next time.
Be the first to ReplyWonderful north-Indian cuisine.
I have had my fair share of Indian food, but this one is very good.Every dish I tried today was top-notch.

It is known as one of the best restaurants in Singapore and definitely lives up to the reputation. The service is great and the food is even better. Try the kulfi sampler for sure!
Be the first to ReplyI had a splendid time at Shahi Maharani.
In my context I feel that this place is lush and posh.I had Chicken Makhanwala, Palak Paneer and Bengali Fish Curry with my Garlic and Butter naan. They are flavorful and delicious. I would prolly order 1 gravy dish in future. I had so much gravy that added complexity to the naan. LOL!As I was sitting at my table, I noticed a lot of hot plate being served out. And I was intrigued by the smell and flavour that I had to just ask the service crew what it was. Tandoori Paneer, the crew explained to me it's cottage cheese and peppers laced with a creamy marinade. The service was excellent n warming.

Very authentic taste and great service. The best part is the live music. Great singers and good music. Must try.

Shahi MaharaniStaff seated us but did not bring menus until we asked. Failed! They are losing a star for lack of service.Salt lassi - goodLong cracker - good but a tad saltishAppetiser - Pakora - vegetable (it is actually white onions within)Garlic nann & plain nann & cherry naan (sweetish & surprisingly nice)Tikki masala chicken - Nice; a wet fish food for those who don't like their food too dryOkra - nice and crunchy with onionsGrilled prawns - sliced open and easy to cut - tastes good tooTandoori chicken - quite nice and tender Somehow the food was better when catered by a Friend. Probably it is because she knows what to order.Music was too loud and 2 of us ended up having headaches. At one point the mike went berserk. I would rather they do without the Indian music and singing.

This is an excellent choice for upscale Indian food in Singapore. Many choices but this is conveniently located to several hotels in the Raffles City mall between Fairmont and Swissotel. There are cheaper places in town for sure but the service is excellent (probably rates outstanding), the food was great and there is some Indian entertainment during dinner. Great place for a low key business dinner or a dinner for it's own sake! I will come back!

This place offers a very good value for money weekday buffet promotion where 2 people can eat for ~S$35. Food is good and ambience is pleasant.Food is good overall but nothing extra ordinary with a standard north indian restaurant menu. Prices are a bit on the high side for the location but still affordable.
Be the first to ReplySolid Indian food.
Meats and all ingredients were fresh and delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Only issue was the food wasn't spicy...waiter claimed our dishes were the spiciest on the menu but wasn't nearly as hot as a chicken vindaloo in London. So lost one star for that.
