Seven Hills San Francisco Reviews from The Last Year

Excellent service, delicious food- especially the farro salad. We also enjoyed the wine and the pans cotta for dessert. Highly recommend. Better than any restaurant in Rome!
Super cute spot for a nice date night.
Great food and service. If you're looking for an upscale dinner in Russian Hill this is it.
Seasonal Italian food
We had an enjoyable dinner at this restaurant serving seasonal Italian-inspired food. We were visiting our son and he had gotten recommendations from some of his foodie friends. Our table was outside in one of the former Covid shacks that cannibalized a few street parking spaces where traffic passes by just inches away. It was a typical cool-ish night in the city but the restaurant had enhanced the spaces with outdoor heaters hung directly above the tables which helped ward off the cool air. Their menu we were told varies with the bounty of the season so our summertime visit was lush with seasonal fruits, cheeses and more. One of these items, and what I thought was the most outstanding dish of the night, was a buffalo cheese and grilled stone-fruit salad-so good with its peaches, cherries and creamy sweet soft cheese and crunchy hazelnuts. We also sampled the meatball (2 large soft balls with lush tomato sauce and some grilled bread) as well as the delicious garlic focaccia bread that's made in house. We sampled 4 different pastas with seasonal ingredients all made with care. Our server was fantastic and despite having quite a few tables, seemed to always appear when we needed something or to check in. You can expect a delightful experience dining here-reservations are a must.

I dined with four friends here on a weekday, and we had a divine experience. My cousin had recommended Seven Hills, as it is her favorite Italian restaurant in all of San Francisco. The waitstaff was very kind and sat us quickly. The atmosphere was so romantic, but also great for a dinner with friends where it's easy to hear each other while not being too quiet. The menu isn't vast, but has something for everything. We quickly found out that each dish is cooked to perfection. We started off with the focaccia and burrata which both were absolutely amazing. I could have eaten the focaccia for my whole meal, it was so good. A friend and I split the spicy vodka pasta and summer salad, both of which were incredible. One of the most comforting meals I had in a long time. It felt very fresh, authentic, and light. We also enjoyed cappuccinos for dessert which were very smooth. I'm looking forward to dining again soon!

Top tier service, spectacular food, fabulous ambiance.
10/10 would highly recommend! Make your life easy and make a reservation. Don't sleep on the sister restaurant down the street either!

Made a rez for my bf's birthday dinner :) Very lowkey, I assumed they missed my note in OpenTable or straight up forgot until they brought out our dessert stuck with a candle. Our server made no comment on it until the very end. Would've been less odd if it was acknowledged when we were seated, but maybe they're going for the element of surprise? LOL The setting is romantic, intimate-- perfect for date night. Server was polite but seemed miffed to be there :') Anyways, dishes were served quickly after ordering. Extremely efficient kitchen considering the sheer volume of diners there that evening. RAMINI BUFFALO MOZZARELLA: Snap peas were the star IMO. Sweetness and crunch matched the best with the cheese. TOASTED GARLIC BREAD: It's ok? Softer and less toasty than expected. More garlic plz CASONCELLI: Ugh, I die for anything brown butter. My first time trying casoncelli tho :3 Light and oddly refreshing. Pasta quality is superb. Not the most filling but a lovely dish nonetheless. STRAUSS PANNA COTTA: Excellent panna cotta-- thick and super smooth. Squid ink definitely won my bf over. The dish was phenomenal. I could only peek over enviously after trying a few bites. They should make it a regular item.
We came here for my birthday.
My first impression of this restaurant is that it is a cozy and intimate dinner setting. It was great for girls night, but I can see this fitting the bill for a date. Maybe a third date, lol. All the food was delicious! Trust me, we like our food. The service was attentive and friendly. I would recommend this for date night, birthday dinners, and girls night out.
Stunning hidden gem in the heart of San Francisco!
My husband and I went to Seven Hills for Dinner during our 3 day stop over in San Francisco and it didn’t disappoint! Lovely family run restaurant and so nice to see the manager visit each table to check in with his customers and ensure they were happy. Food, Service and Ambience 10/10. Good location, accessible by tram and very close to our hotel.

I thoroughly enjoyed the exceptional service from the moment I stepped into Seven Hills. The host greeted us warmly, our waitress was incredibly friendly, and the serving staff consistently replaced dirty plates with clean ones after each course. The Tomato Braised Polpette was delicious, especially with the surprise of cheese stuffed inside the meatballs. The Toasted Garlic Focaccia Bread was a little disappointing. It's seemingly cheese but tasted bland. The Tagliolini was my favorite; I couldn't get enough of the rich mushroom sauce! I also recommend trying their Straus Panna Cotta. It was refreshing and not too sweet, making it the perfect way to wrap up the meal.
Me and my wife went here on an anniversary trip.
We had the Maccheroncelli, tomato braised polpette, and a shrimp fettuccine special. Seven hills house made ricotta on the maccheroncelli was heavenly and paired nicely with the tomato sauce. Shrimp special was creamy and a great last minute decision to order. Tomato braised polpette, essentially meatballs and red sauce, was a nice addition to our meal which was served as though it was an appetizer. Service was perfectly attentive without being too pushy. Seven hills was perfect for a date night out with candle light and low noise making for an intimate dinner.
We had hoped for the intimate and cozy ambiance everyone
We had hoped for the intimate and cozy ambiance everyone else was raving about when we chose this place for our date night. However, while the food and service were lovely, we were sat at the worst table in the restaurant. Not only was it extremely wobbly and several people tried to fix this WHILE we were trying to enjoy our wine ; it was also located right in the middle of the room where everyone walking by bumped into us or the furniture. It felt like sitting in the aisle seat on an airplane. We won't give it another try. There are so many other restaurants in SF where we can spend a nice evening.
Excellent food in San Francisco. I equate this food with a Michelin star quality
This is my favorite restaurant in SF. I also love Collina the restaurant down the street by the same owners. Everything I order is a masterpiece of delicious food!!!! The meatballs, Halibut with pea risotto, the little gem salad (insanely yummy) with mandarin oranges & avocado is highly recommended. We sat up at the bar at this lively restaurant. The staff is friendly and professional.
Romantic, excellent food, professional service.
Excellent pasta and service in a very pleasant neighborhood setting. We will dine at Seven Hills again as soon as the chance arrises. It's a little pricey, but worth it.
Amazing culinary treat!
Amazing food and drinks! Sarah our server was attentive, friendly and awesome. We love coming here and always have a great time!
Seven Hills: A Culinary Gem in the Heart of San Francisco
While Seven Hills may be a hidden gem, it's no secret among food enthusiasts seeking an authentic taste of Italy in the heart of San Francisco. Whether you're celebrating a special occasion or simply craving a memorable meal, a visit to Seven Hills promises an enchanting culinary adventure that will leave you longing to return again and again.

Pretty yummy place! The garlic Parmesan bread was a tasty app. I got the truffle ravioli which was delectable. My husband got the pork which was really really good. The service was relatively quick or they gave us a heads up on how long it would take if it was a specific dish. The outdoor patio was fun, but the chairs opposite the booth felt a little cheap. We were between two families with kids, so maybe if you're not into kids you should opt for inside.

We elected to skip appetizers and go all in on many pastas and the fish of the day. The pastas were all great but the squid ink pasta with the fresh crab and the shell thing with the cheese were standouts. Almost re-ordered them. Fish of the day was served over a risotto which made it a hearty dish.
Incredible meal at Seven Hills.
Started with the focaccia and meatballs followed by the little gem salad. The little gem salad was amazing - so light and citrusy. For my main I ordered the tortelli which was out of this world. It was in a lemon butter sauce with some pieces of crispy artichokes. To finish, we had the budino and bread pudding. This was one of the best meals I've had in SF!
One of my favorite SF restaurants.
The restaurant is not too loud and has very friendly, attentive and knowledgeable servers. Very wonderful selection of wines. They change their menu constantly but nothing ever misses. I highly recommend getting the fish special of the day, as the fish is butchered in house. What stood out to me last time I went, was the pasta was not cooked to my taste and they offered to make me a whole new pasta and brought me a glass of wine on the house while I waited. Truly best in class service. I will continue to return :)
This remains one of my favorite Italian restaurants.
It's a bit pricey but every time I've been here, I've loved my meal. The menu changes periodically and there's always something new I want to try. It's a perfect place for a fancy date night but be sure to get a reservation. Even with the new, larger space, dinner time still fills up. Shout out to the server from my last visit, Ashton, you were awesome!
attentive service ambiance was cozy and large group
attentive service ambiance was cozy and large group friendly, easy to hear everyone ordered the taglialini with pesto for the table: garlic parmesan foccacia (delicious elevated garlic bread), star route salad, collar (which had something very strangely bitter tasting in it) zero proof mocktails (lemon elderflower and citrus burst) were good but not remarkable, the elderflower came with a rosemary sprig
Believe the hype--this place is amazing.
Great acoustics; we could easily hear everyone at the table. Every course was delicious. Make a reservation for a special occasion! PS DO NOT skip dessert--Chocolate Budino is a must!
Always our to go to neighborhood restaurant.
Food is consistently delicious. Neighborhood vibe with sophisticated draw for all.

Celebrated our anniversary here and had a lovely experience! Service, ambiance, and food was all wonderful. They even gifted us some dessert wine and put a candle in our dessert to make the evening extra special. For starters, we ordered the garlic focaccia and wagyu carpaccio. Both were amazing! My partner ordered the orecchiette and I had the tortelli. The tortelli was definitely the better of the two and some of the best pasta I've ever had. For secondi we got the market fish and the steak. I loved the market fish and the risotto it came with and my partner thought the steak was cooked perfectly. We were definitely stuffed by the end but it was all worth it. Highly recommend dining here for a special occasion or date night.

Walked into the restaurant without a reservation on a Friday around 5:45 and got seated at the bar right away! This place had been on my list for a while and glad to be able to finally try it out. We ordered the meatball appetizer to share - it was tender and cheesy perfect for a winter day in the city. I also got the squid ink pasta with Dungeness crab (daily special pasta). $35 but there were plenty of crab pieces so it was quite worth it in my opinion. Had a great time here and would for sure come back to try other pasta dishes

We did not have a reservation but called Seven Hills on a Saturday night around 5 PM. They said they could put us on their waitlist and seat us at 7:30 but for an outside table. They assured me that it was heated and out of the rain. It was pouring buckets when we got there and quite windy. They seated us and turned on 2 ceiling heaters. We decided to order a drink and appetizers (Duck Liver Pate, Star Route Little Gem Salad, House Focaccia) as the heaters warmed up. The appetizers were excellent and the drink was bubbly and delicious. It was much too cold for us to have an enjoyable dinner. Luckily the restaurant was able to seat us indoors after the salad and bread was served. The Little Gem Salad was fantastic, tossed in a champagne vinegar dressing. I normally do not like focaccia but this homemade bread was delicious, light and not doused in olive oil. We ordered both specials which were the squid ink pasta with crabmeat and tortellini with truffles. We also ordered the Maccheroncelli and raviolini. Squid ink pasta with truffles was the star of the evening. Truffle shavings were generously served at the table and nestled back into the wooden box on a bed of rice kernels. The Maccheroncelli was a tomato based pasta with a house made ricotta. It was good but not spectacular though the pasta was cooked perfectly Al dente. The raviolini were quite small and I think the sauce was average: a browned butter that I thought was a bit on the runny side. It had nice crunch with the toasted crunch of walnuts. The star dish of the evening was the tortellinis with truffles. It was pricey but was absolutely divine! We appreciated the attention that the waitstaff gave us both inside and outside the restaurant and the dishes were memorable and delicious. Well done Seven Hills! We enjoyed dining with you!

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.

I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here

Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
