Seneca Trattoria San Diego Reviews
It was very good, would go back when I can afford it.
Truffle arancini with prosciutto, bourbon, Caesar salad, casarecce alla vodka, pepperoni pizza, and celebratory prosecco from our waitress. All very well done. Would ask to sit at the railing on our next visit.
10 out of 10 The staff were so friendly and attentive.
The ambiance and aesthetic was on point. From The views to the decor 10/10. The Food delicious The pizza was fresh and just made to perfection. I don't think you could go wrong with any of them. I highly recommend the risotto with honey prosciutto- i couldn't get enough! The pasta was fresh and the vodka Sauce was great! Everything went!!! If you like espresso martinis- do not leave without getting one! Prob one of the best I've ever had! You can come with your family, friends or a date night- the views the food just so good! A place to remember!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the food, and the ambience is something I truly loved! I have been twice, and being on the 19th floor overlooking part of the harbor, as well as the lights give it such an island, vibe and feel! The food is delicious, and the service is incredible! I love how from the host/hostess entering into the restaurant, to the servers, formulate substance of conversations, which make me, at least feel warm and welcome.
Had an amazing experience here! I celebrated my birthday
Had an amazing experience here! I celebrated my birthday here with my best friend and we came for opening. One thing I will mention is that it opens at 11am and you cannot go to the rooftop floor before 11am hits. Immediately when you step out of the elevator you're in a dark room, giving the ambiance of being in a rainforest which is really cool. There are main doors to your left and you enter the restaurant lobby. We were greeted and seated immediately with an outstanding view of downtown. The entire restaurant was very clean and the decor was carefully placed perfectly. I absolutely loved the vibe. Our waiter was very nice and told us some of the popular dishes which helped with our selection - despite us knowing what we wanted before coming in. We started with the appetizers and tried the Truffle Arancini with Prosciutto. This was such an amazing dish and the truffle was delicious. Very light and fluffy with perfect breading. The prosciutto was a tick high quality cut - very impressed. For entrees we ordered the Carbonara and Margarita Pizza. The carbonara was very standard but none the less very good. It wasn't too creamy or overly oily which I appreciated. The pizza was nothing special but the marinara sauce was really good. Nothing was too heavy, salty, or overly filling. Our waiter was very good at filling our water and coming back to check on us. She also made sure I had a small surprise birthday treat which was a great added touch. Overall, the prices are expensive and it may be questionable if it's worth the value but the experience was where it was. The rooftop bar, view, cleanliness, and bathroom were outstanding. I would definitely recommend coming here for a nice romantic dinner or going out with your family. It does get quite noisy as the tables close together so my recommendation would be to get there early in the day!
Let me get the food part out of the way.
.. my wife and I split a Margarita Pizza. It was good, no complaints, as was the house Pinot Gris. The service was generally slow, and with mixed attitudes, ranging between a server who didn't seem to like her job to a servers helper who was attentive, friendly and competent. The ambiance was as expected for a top floor restaurant In a higher end hotel. However, all other aspects of our experience were odd, and frankly ended up being hilarious in that odd way. We walked in at 14:55 (2:55 PM). We were told the full lunch menu was over at 15:00 (3:00 PM). All we could order was pizza and drinks. So, OK no problem. After getting water, a plate and silverware each, we sat for 25 minutes... totally invisible. Found the young lady who brought us the aforementioned set-up and asked if she was our waitress, to which she replied, "I could be." So, I told her we would like to order, ordering a Margarita Pizza. We did not see any beer listed in the drink menu, only wine and cocktails. Asked if they had beer, to which she told us, "no, they ran out." Now I found this weird, as Seneca is a fairly high end, "Signature" restaurant on the top floor in an Intercontinental Hotel in prime tourist area, downtown San Diego. But, rolling with the punch, I ordered two Bloody Mary's. More failure. They also ran out of Bloody Mary mix and tomato juice to make a Bloody Mary. Thus the two glasses of the house Pinot Gris Were ordered. But, wait... there's more. We were seated on an outside and covered terrace, but not covered enough. Even though it is San Diego rain started, and with the rain came wind which ignored the covering. There was a mass scrambling of patrons to be reseated to a dry area. The staff did handle the chaos very well (I suspect they had performed this exercise more than once). We warned to be careful of the wet floor, as it is very slippery. Fortunately, we did not see or suffer any casualties. Following the Pizza and wine were two espressos were delivered on the house. Would we return? Very doubtful.
Painfully comical

They deleted my review and washed away a lot of one stars.
Their chefs are hispanic cooking italian food, not authentic. Also they hound you for tip money check how they became viral. This is a scam restaurant located in an expensive spot
I love Seneca and everything having to do with CH Group.
The hubby and I have been here a few times and introduced my sister on our most recent visit. The absolute must get is their wood fired prawns. There are 5 large pieces of shrimp with the tail still on, grilled, and presented on this pillowy piece of focaccia that is sitting in this luxurious creamy sauce with a kick that soaks up nicely with the bread. My husband doesn't even like shrimp but he requests this each time. The meatballs are great, tender, and flavorful. Their sides of vegetables are always perfectly cooked. The casarecce alla vodka was my sister's favorite and had a nice bite to it. The mushroom pizza was very good, crust was soft but had a nice chew, mushrooms were seasoned well. The drinks are lively and fun. The desserts are beautifully presented and their coffee service is nice too. I love the way they present the espresso with the best biscotti on earth. Seneca is fun, romantic, overlooks the bay, has comfortable seating, great service, and swanky vibes.
First time here for brunch and loved it.
Getting there was a bit much but it was easy overall. Great views, good food along with great service. Also ordered a pizza which was fantastic.

I booked a reservation for 11 AM on a Thursday, which was a great time since it wasn't crowded. My friend and I enjoyed: * Fruit and burrata salad - fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious * Margherita pizza - crisp crust with the a delicious cheese on top; six slices so great for sharing We sat by the glass window overlooking the harbor, which made for a beautiful view. Our server checked on us often, and the hostess even took pictures for us after lunch. Excellent service, a quiet atmosphere, and amazing food.

This restaurant delivers exactly what I need for a great night out. Anywhere you sit you'll be entertained by city views, bay views, or the exciting open wood fire grill kitchen. Ignore the media controversy - we had great professional service every time, and no pressure around specific tipping. The whole fish, the pizzas - all a bargain for what you get in such a nice place too. They could easily charge more. Will be back many more times.
Wait for table when 90% is free!
Decided to come here for an afternoon cocktail. Despite the place having at least 90% of their tables free and laid up, we were told weโd have to wait at the bar for 15 mins! Surprise, surprise, they managed to โfindโ us a table after about 5 mins. ๐ The waiter was very pleasant, the bar looked cool and the limoncello spritz was nice. The view over the USS Midway Museum was also good in the sunshine. But the false attempt at being busy/exclusive was just quite off-putting.
Great Food, Decent Service, and Worth a Return Visit
The place is nicely presented and very clean. The service was decentโnot amazing, but far from badโand definitely not a reason to avoid coming back. My drinks took a little longer than expected, but the food and appetizers more than made up for it; they were absolutely delicious! Honestly, Iโm not sure why this spot doesnโt have at least four stars. The prices are a bit above average, but thatโs understandable given the location and ambiance. They do make an effort to provide the level of service youโre paying for. One tipโarrive on time. Parking can be tricky on the street unless youโre willing to pay for a spot or opt for the $50 valet service. Overall, I would absolutely return and recommend it to others.
Pretty but left disappointed
Beautiful space, but disappointing experienceโespecially for a special occasion. We came here for our anniversary hoping for an incredible Italian dinner and a romantic atmosphere, but unfortunately, it missed the mark. While the restaurant itself is visually stunning, the overall experience left a lot to be desired. We were seated in a corner at a large table meant for four, which felt awkward and took away from the ambiance we were hoping for. The food, sadly, just wasnโt very good. I ordered the lobster ravioli, which came out at $50โbut the lobster wasnโt cooked properly, and it seemed the high price was mostly due to the caviar garnish, not the quality of the dish itself. For the price and the occasion, I expected much more. I wouldnโt recommend dining here for a special eventโyou may leave feeling underwhelmed and disappointed.
Huge Disappointment
I had heard for years how good Seneca was and finally got to go yesterday (Saturday). I am thankful for the fact that it was quiet enough for us to hear our dinner companions and the view was amazing. However, the food is another story. I was served pasta a la vodka and it was unforgivably blah -- but at least it was expensive!. For $26 i got a small bowl of the most pathetic excuse for a dinner entree I've ever encountered. Just some uninteresting pasta with some pale and tasteless sauce on it. No parmesan was offered to at least give it some taste. My husband received a bowl of cold meatballs. Taste was OK; temperature was unacceptable. Our friends didn't say anything about their entrees, including raving about them! Huge disappointment. I recommend getting something safe like a fun drink and a bowl of olives (they probably can't hurt those too much) and enjoying the view before heading out to a restaurant with better food.
It's a shame they are almost 5-stars, BUT not.
I would say this could have been a solid 4 stars, with a few exceptions that lowered it to two. PROS -- Great service AT THE BAR (on the patio)... it's a VERY small bar, and as such, you can easily have the bartenders' attention. CONS -- Girls at the front desk are really not that savvy with operations, nor are they very friendly. After having a standing reservation (at 4:30-ish... not the busy rush yet), we were shown the the "worst table in the house" ha ha. Right next to the hot stove in the kitchen, on a hot day. I had asked to sit on the patio with a view, but she said that was only for larger groups. While I agree with these logistics, I have to point out that there were at least four of these "larger group only"-view tables vacant at the time, and within 20 minutes two of them were seated with only 2 people each. I actually agree with their policy to neither reserve nor guarantee any particular seating! -- so then why were we turned down and somebody else was allowed to sit there, if there are no seating reservations, and those people had a later reservation time than we did?? -- Then, when I pointed out that there were open tables on the edge, she said she would look into it. She came back and took us to the TINIEST little round table far away from the edge that in NO way whatsoever could accomodate even dinner plates + one app.! -- more disturbing than the apparent unfairness of the seating was simply the girl's attitude. Made me, frankly, want to just leave and not come back. -- This all being said, we just said "forget the seating reservations!!!" and went to the bar, where we had our anniverary dinner and the bartenders and som. took great care of us. An old saying would be, "a blessing in disguise." But, what a shame that the girls at the front kiosk aren't really fit for this type of nice establishment. Note: Our visit was on 7/4/25 at around 16:30, in case management cares to see who was at the front desk at that time. Food -- NY strip steak was just OK. Nothing to write home about, but not bad either. Just ok. Was served colder than lukewarm, btw. We didn't say anything, because it just would have messed up the entire plating/timing of our dinner (we had multiple starters, soups, salads, main entrees, etc.). Broccolini -- yes, I know it's "charred" on the grill, but this one was burnt beyond recognition. Unedible. Wood fired prawns were phenomenal. If we came back we'd get that. Corkage -- $45 was not a surprise (we brought our own very nice bottle of wine), BUT it's a bit excessive, I think. Leaves a slightly bitter taste in my mouth and doesn't necessarily entice me to come back, especially seeing how I poured our wine glasses all dinner long until the bottle was empty (it was opened by the Som. however, who never came back after that -- not that I really cared about that, just fyi in case you are wondering). But I'm glad we brought our own bottle because we noticed that the bottles of wine at the outside bar (except for some white wines) were all standing at room temperature, and it was a hot day. Not the best practice for wine, eh? TL;DR -- Corkage = $45 without matching service. Steak served cold. Quality OK. Front desk girls had bad attitude and refused to sit us at a decent table; we had to dump our res. and sit at the open bar. We had a great time, but there is much lacking to be a 5-star experience. PRO TIP: Walk in, don't make a res. Go to the bar. Order the Wood-Fired Prawns; that's all I can say.
MAJESTIC EXPERIENCE
I ATE EVERYTHING IN MY PLATE, I ATE LIKE 4 DISHES YES ILL BE DOING IT AGAIN. PLUS YOU CAN SEE THE AIRPORT AND PLANES AND THE VIEWS ARE AMAZING. THE BREAD IS AMAZING AND SO I STHE POTATOES AND PASTA AND THAT APPLE THING FOR DESERT.
Beautiful Ambience, Underwhelming Food
This is a lovely restaurant with stunning dรฉcor and an atmosphere that truly impressed us. Every detailโfrom the decoration to the tableware and serviceโwas immaculate. However, the food didnโt quite live up to our expectations. The pizza was quite simple and lacked flavor, and the pasta was similarly underwhelming. The only dish we truly enjoyed was the burrata. Unfortunately, the food is definitely not worth the price. While I wouldnโt recommend it for the food, the ambience alone makes it worth a visit.
Manage expectations...
Come for the views, not for the food. Over priced for subpar (mediocre at best) food. My dish was overly salty to the point I could not finish it. No one at the table of 6 was overly impressed with theirs either. Too bad as the aesthetics / views are great but the food does not live up to the same standard. Service was fine. Would not recommend at their price point.
hated it.
I went for my bday dinner after wanting to go for so long. But over hyped over priced. &overall horrible service. made a reservation upon arrive they made us wait about 15 more mins. they sat us in the inside area with no view even with the view tables being empty. I asked if we could get a view table and they said no it's for other reservations yet when I made my reservation and requested they said it's first come first serve for seatings. throughout half our dinner the tables with views were empty. the food. portions are small and average taste. I ordered ravioli type pasta and it was 5 raviolis. waiter never came to ask if we needed anything during food. & vegan options that I had called to ask before weren't the same upon arrival. Just kids tomato pasta. Waiter offered a side of veggies and never arrived. my mother was offered to taste the wine yet he didn't come back till after she finished her food to offer her a full size serving. Honestly it really is just for vibes for a drink and that's it not the food. & good luck getting a good table with that view.

My daughter found this spot googling dinner locations for when we took a day trip to SD. It was walking distance from where we were at. Reservations must be made well in advance, especially if you are trying to do sunset time. The view from the 19th floor was amazing. Food and service were great.
The ambiance amazing , the pasta was ok but the focaccia
The ambiance amazing , the pasta was ok but the focaccia bread with prosciutto was delicious definitely recommend. The restaurants is beautiful.

this place has been on my list of spots to try for a long time. finally made a reservation for the other day at 8:00. didn't get sat until almost 9. I understand that they get busy, but I am a little confused as to what the reservation was for if it wasn't going to be upheld. By the time we got sat, we were right smack between the inside and outside of the restaurant; either side would have been nice and warm to sit in, but it seems like that is the coldest part of the place since there were no heaters and the tables halfway outside. The service however was impecable! Everyone that interacted with us at our table was so nice so for that reason alone I would love to come back!
The restaurant and view are beautiful.
The elevator ride up that lead to the dark room was a nice surprise. We ordered pizzas since that was the only thing available. Marg pizza was good, others were ok. Service was wonderful. -1 star for only having pizza at the time we went and bringing wrong whiskey (but it was promptly corrected).
The ambiance was absolutely amazing at Seneca.
The food not so much... I ordered the casarecce alla vodka(3/10), cavatelli alla sugo di agnello (5/10),spagetti carbonara (4/10),and agnolotti verde di tartufo(6/10). All the pasta noodles were very firm and chewy. Not the pleasant chewy in which I regret no requesting but even the sauce was lacking. With the vodka pasta how does one make it dry. In which I highly disliked. I expected more but was just extremely disappointed.
take your bestie here for her bday (if your 25+).
Claps for ambiance. Xoxo gossips girl

Visited Seneca for the first time prior to a concert at the Rady Shell. Upon walking in, I was in awe of the gorgeous decor and THAT VIEW. We ordered the burrata and spring vegetable salad to start, and the agnolotto to split. The burrata was perfect-creamy, rich and refreshing all at once. The salad was a little..strange. There was probably a teaspoon of quinoa sprinkled on top, and the dressing felt a little out of place with the vegetables. The agnolotto was very very rich, with a pleasant mushroom cream sauce. The service left a little to be desired. My friend and I arrived a few minutes after opening. There were three or four other tables filled, but we went through four or five different servers throughout the meal. Each item took about 20-25 minutes to come to the table. A meal for two people took almost two hours. I am glad I was able to experience Seneca at least once, but you're definitely paying for the vibes.
Ambiance is amazing, however the food is not even decent.
I make better pasta at home and I'm a terrible chef. This place is so cool but I wish the food was as good as the vibe of the place! The staff is all amazing though
Stunning views, welcoming vibrant atmosphere & attentive
Stunning views, welcoming vibrant atmosphere & attentive staff, awesome dinner! From our first steps off the elevator onto the 19th floor restaurant at the Hotel Intercontinental, we felt transported to a cool, welcoming space. A friendly hostess ushered us through a sensory room with a starry night ceiling & a tropical vibe. Moving into the restaurant proper, abundant plants & decor including outdoor fireplaces created a welcoming feel & the rooftop views were spectacular. While waiting for our table, we were led to a bustling packed bar .. people made room & the bartenders whipped up awesome cocktails! Once at our fantastic, outdoor roof edge table, we enjoyed unobstructed views of downtown San Diego & the harbor. As dusk turned to night, we enjoyed fantastic must-have appetizers - Truffles Arancini & Wood-Fired Prawns. We were also surprised by a 10 minute fireworks show off the harbor that was unexpected & fun! Dinner was great as well! A pinwheel lasagna dish was uniquely presented, generously portioned & very tasty! The Malfada Corta Con Cavolo Nero was superb - very fresh pasta artfully laced with surprisingly delicate flavors of kale-based pesto, pine nuts & cranberries - truly delicious! Service was fantastic, food was great & the vibe was relaxed & awesome!! Will definitely be back!!
A good meal but it didnโt deliver on our expectations
Odd from the start, with the Level 19 foyer almost pitch black upon exiting the lift. Table placement is limiting when it comes to mid sized groups - we had 7 in our group and the circular seating really was squashy when it came to fitting all our dishes on the one table. The seating of the place seems optimised for couples dining around the edge (where the views are). Food was above average, wine service a bit slow but good when it arrived. Full overhead bar heaters seemed a bit strange for the circular table seating away from the windows. Cannot comment on the costs as I was a guest.
Slowest service Iโve experienced.
Food was great and the servers were enjoyable and great as well. Butโฆ It took them 40 minutes to seat us past our reservation time. There was no place to sit and we were obviously in the way in the lobby so we went to the bar area. Whilst waiting for our table took the bartenders 20 minutes to take our drink order. Food delivery from the kit heโs was also behind so dinner was a multi hour affair. it was not a great experience. We sat outside which is truly lovely. That said the hard wood benches we sat on and a table just barely big enough for our party if five made dinner a misery. At the end of the meal they took the wine bottle that was on the table that still had wine in it to drink. Add all to this a check in team who seemed not to care they had guests waiting so long it was truly disappointing. I cannot recommend this place right now. For over $600 for dinner it just did not perform at the โAโ level it should.
Tiramisu was excellent.
Restaurant is on top of the hotel. A bit of work to get there and the top entrance foyer is all dark - kind of strange? Inside is Modern vibe with cool decor. Brittany served us and was friendly and efficient. The mushroom pizza was one of the best I have eaten. Had a yummy salad with hazelnuts and different greens- excellent. The tiramisu was a huge piece and we Shared it and it still was lots to enjoy.

Very cool spot.
Food was good not great. Not baby or toddler friendly- no high chairs or kids menus. Which is totally fine - but didn't know that before I went. Gorgeous space tho! Would come back for drinks and appetizers.

We sat in the corner right next to the speaker and it was too hard to have a conversation over the music. Server seemed annoyed to be working. Never came to fill our waters until we were almost finished. We brought a bottle of champagne and had to fill our glasses ourselves. Server only came at the end of our meal to check to see if we needed anything. Will not be coming back. In the other hand, View is great if you get a window seat.
If you don't want to eat and you would like to wait an hour
If you don't want to eat and you would like to wait an hour after your reservation with poor communication from the front house staff, then Seneca is your place. Thank you for making my husband's 40th birthday dinner, unforgettable. I would say ours was an isolated incident, but after sharing our experience to many, this seems to be a common practice.
This place is absolutely wonderful! The views and ambiance
This place is absolutely wonderful! The views and ambiance are fantastic, and I really recommend it. We tried the truffle pasta, which was so good, and tiramisu for dessert. The portion sizes for both the food and dessert were just right. The service was excellent, and the overall design of the place is top-notch.
Came back again hoping it would have improved.
Still no cacio or vodka. Service and ambiance are still great but the foods gone downhill.

This place is beautiful, it was a great view , but food and service are okay, our server was not the best and we we're literally waiting like 10 min for her to come and take our order, and when we were done eating we wait like 20 min for her to come again and give us the bill, keep in mind it was not busy at all .
As soon as I walked in this restaurant the air hit my face
As soon as I walked in this restaurant the air hit my face and it was such a breathtaking! We were welcomed and seated. My friend and I ordered pasta and the wait time was longer than expected "mind you it was not busy at all" our meal arrived and the first bite I take it was extremely salty to my liking, I thought in my head if I were to have a high blood pressure this would be so much fun! The waiter came to check if everything tasted good but I had to tell him about the saltiness and it turned out my friend had the same complaint so I ordered the margarita pizza and it wasn't supposed to take that long too as the waiter said but it did and when it arrived it was hot, I had to wait more for it to cool down so I lost all my appetite and ended up eating one slice! I thought the pizza would fix the problem but unfortunately it was the opposite which is flavorless and the ingredients were falling off the dough part. I am a social media influencer and foodie, I found out about this place from TikTok platform so I wanted to see what the hype is about but it wasn't as exciting and exciting as I thought it would be. Overall, I will give the rooftop/view a two stars. The overly priced dishes do NOT match the food quality/taste. This is my honest review and I hope this feedback helps!

The ambiance is one of a kind, I think sitting inside or outside is both great and very different. (I think I actually prefer inside). Food is always delish and never disappoints. The Arancini is my personal fave! Good drinks, but not a lot of diversity in cocktail / wine menu. Service has been quick, attentive and kind.
Seneca was very good-Annabel R. is the absolute best and made the night perfect.
Discovering Seneca was a hidden gem adventure, initially challenging to locate and with a somewhat intricate sign-in process. However, once inside, the experience was utterly delightful. The bar visit was a pleasant prelude, highlighted by exceptional blue cheese olives and outstanding service from the bartender. The dining experience escalated in enjoyment after being seated. Our server, Annabel R., was the epitome of hospitality. She welcomed us warmly, expertly navigated us through the menu, and made impeccable food recommendations. Annabel's attention to detail, efficiency, and ability to make our evening feel special were unparalleled. Seneca transformed a first visit into a memorable occasion."
Great view
The view was excellent, we had a table outdoor during lunch and that was lovely. The seafood pasta was our favorite but the rest was ok. A bit overpriced and parking can be hard to find since it's in downtown, but they offer valet so you have options. We would comer back but for a very special occasion.
Better places to eatโฆ
Very poor dining experience. Food was below average. For the price I paid I expected more. Service was slow and waitress was inattentive. Would not return. Patio got really hot while having lunch.
Wonderful Views of the City
The views of the city are spectacular. The environment is worth the time to see. The service is was very good. The food was fine. The cost is moderate for downtown San Diego. The noise level is quite high. The seating is crowded together. It is on the dark side. Weโll go again knowing what to expect but many other fine restaurants in the area are preferred. Worth going once, you might love it.
Good food nice place bad service
This was the second time we visited this restaurant. The ambiance and decor is great, the food is good. However the hostess at the front is unwelcoming and unprofessional. The service is very slow as the restaurant is understaffed. Iโve been to very nice restaurants all over the world and to hire a a hostess that gives attitude to customers does not make an establishment exclusive. Itโs such a turn off.
Visiting from UK. Highly recommend this restaurant. 10 out of 10
We had the best night at Seneca. We were visiting from the UK and celebrating our anniversary. The restaurant made us feel so welcome and really made our visit so special. The waitresses were so knowledgable about the drinks and food and the service was 10/10. Could not fault this restaurant. The design of the restaurant is really cool and you have great views of downtown SD. Special shout out to our server Teegan who made our night so special.
Made us feel special
We came here for our 10 year anniversary and we were not disappointed! The restaurant is gorgeous and the staff were so kind! Our waitress was new, I wish I remembered her name but she was awesome. The restaurant itself smells amazing and the food lives up to that. I got the Cacio e Pepe and it was fantastic! If we were hungrier (we foolishly ate a late lunch) we would have wanted to eat a lot more dishes. I had a great time and great anniversary dinner.
Less than spectacular Mothers Day Lunch
We came here for mothers day. I have to agree with some of the reviews both negative and positive. Here is what I agree with. 1. Entrance is quaint but to dark, just a bit more light would be nice and with an obvious nod to where the door is. 2. Restaurant views are great if you get the right table. Decor is nice but seems like it needs to be updated to reflect current trends. What was good. 1. Pear salad with radicchio lettuce was very good. 2. Food prices seemed very reasonable especially for a hotel restaurant and the view it has. And that's where it ends. The bucatini pasta cacio e pepe was undercooked and tasted like the pasta was dumped through the pasta water giving it a flour aftertaste. Also came to the table a bit cold so all the pasta was stuck together. The pizza was average and could be had anywhere else for less in nearby Little Italy. The truffle arancini, I think they used truffle oil to get the flavor although cooked perfectly. The wine list was way overpriced and ridiculous, I had to pay $80 for a $20 bottle of Chianti. Also the 4% surcharge this I hate everywhere I go. Just raise the prices I don't tip on the surcharge. Restaurants need to get over the fact that they have to act like real employers and pay benefits and such this is overdue. Service I wont even comment on as they seemed understaffed when we arrived at noon and more folks seemed to come on after a while. Understaffing is a critical problem and the wait staff is not at fault but it does make it hard to enjoy the experience.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Seneca Trattoria San Diego at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Seneca Trattoria San Diego page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.
Step-by-Step Process
1.) Setting a Reward (Bid)
* AppointmentTrader uses historical data to recommend a reasonable reward amount for securing a reservation - let's say $100.
* Peter really wants to go, so he increases the bid (or reward) to $200.
* At this stage, the reservation does not exist yet.
2.) A Community User Picks Up the Bid
* MaternalRecord73, an experienced AT user, has a strong track record of successfully securing reservations and low refund requests, they receive a notification about Peter's bid.
* MaternalRecord73 picks up the bid, meaning they will now work on securing the reservation.
* Peter can now talk to MaternalRecord73 for any questions Peter may have as MaternalRecord73 user fills the bid.
3.) Finding the Reservation
* MaternalRecord73 now uses their connections at Seneca Trattoria San Diego to secure the table.
* If they successfully get the 6 PM table for four, Peter receives a confirmation that the reservation has been secured.
* If MaternalRecord73 fails to secure the reservation, the bid is returned to the pool so another user can try.
4.) Payment & Protection
* Once the reservation is secured, MaternalRecord73 receives the $200 reward which is credited to MaternalRecord73's AT balance, where users manage their own funds and can withdraw via available payout options such as bank transfer, PayPal, or Zelle.
* Peter can now enjoy the dinner with his friends at Seneca Trattoria San Diego!
* As with all transactions on AT, disputes and no-show fees are handled through the platform's community-driven resolution system. Users with a strong track record are incentivized to fulfill bids successfully, and community members can report issues to maintain trust in the marketplace.
