Scarpetta Beach Montauk Reviews from The Last Year
Nice view, but if you care at all about the food or service then do not go here
Read the mixed reviews and knew that Guerneys was a nice beach setting, so we figured how bad could the overall experience be, especially with the Scarpetta name on it. Wrong call, and I’m shocked that Scarpetta allows this restaurant to bear its name. The view from the deck is nice and the cocktails were ok. Food was comically bad. Scallop crudo tasted really off, like the scallops were old. Ordered lobster pasta which is a super simple dish - pasta, tomato sauce and lobster. Figured how can you screw that up, especially at a place famous for its tomato sauce. Wrong again, unfortunately - the dish tasted like cafeteria pasta with tiny chunks of flavorless lobster mixed in. We came in with pretty low food expectations given the reviews but this was almost a joke. Didn’t expect great service based on the reviews and that was indeed the case, probably waited 30 minutes after the apps were cleared before the entrees arrived. Didn’t finish several of our dishes but there was no inquiry if there was something wrong or offer to remove them. Which was fine and we don’t really care about the $. But it does feel a bit galling to pay $300 for a light meal for 2 people with 2 drinks each when the food and service are so bad. Perhaps it’s just for tourists who won’t come back anyhow, or people who are staying at gurneys and don’t want to leave campus. But if this isn’t you then highly recommend you skip. We rarely write reviews, and there aren’t a lot of great dinner options in Montauk, but highly recommend giving this a miss.
It's my favorite restaurant in Montauk.
The scallop appetizer is absolutely superb - so many levels to it. My husband loved the lobster and pasta dish, though a little spicey for me. The setting with the view of the ocean can not be beat. Service is excellent, and the servers are very attentive. The Flowers Chardonnay is a special treat. Tip - order 2 servings of the scallop appetizer for an entree.

Where do I begin? This restaurant is continuously consistent and makes every trip to Montauk complete! Our service was exceptional and the wait staff was at the ready to make sure glasses were always filled and courses arrive timely. The ambience is fantastic, overlooking the ocean. Noise level moderate but not so loud that you couldn't hear your own conversations. Top notch and a favorite!
Scarpetta is a restaurant within Gurney's Montauk Resort
Scarpetta is a restaurant within Gurney's Montauk Resort with a gorgeous view overlooking the ocean. If you want a prime sea view I suggest requesting an outdoor table! The staff is great and made this a great visit. I had heard the pasta dishes were one of the chefs specialties and the pappardelle did not disappoint. The braised lamb was tender and packed with flavor which complimented the pasta perfectly. The yellowtail may have been one of my favorite yellowtail dishes that I have had. The coarse sea salt added a little crunch and a lot of flavor to the pieces of yellowtail. The seared scallops were delicious and came with two scallops. I could have eaten 20 of these with how delicious they were.
Ocean View
Spectacular view only marred by chairs , umbrellas etc between eating deck and ocean. Great adjoining cocktail area. Well prepared food.
My favorite spot out here! The staff here are super nice.
Vova took care of us. I would give him a perfect score for service. 10/10 The espresso martinis here are really good. The drink is pretty strong but it hits the spot. The halibut was very tasty. 10/10 The cauliflower was incredible. One of my favorite sides by far. The ambiance here is magical. I would highly recommend this spot.

My girlfriend and I just had dinner at Scarpetta Edwin was our waiter and he put up with us moving our table from outside to inside the restaurant. Food was fantastic and service excellent. Than we also had a people watching show. So many people at the bar. It's was a show watching them. People watching and the clothing outfits they all wore. Dinner and a show. lol.
Was here last year and food and service was better.
This year is Really not worth the price and wait. besides the ocean view that's about it, quality of food was bad, both fish and pasta is just not good anymore.
Can be better!
Beautiful view and restaurant, Unfortunately quality and taste of the food were not up to par, it was much better last year and definitely needs improvement. It was not a good enough experience for a luxury resort.
Fart-scetta beach.
What a disappointment. After a 45 minute wait for a table outside we were finally seated after the sun had went down. Our server greeted us warmly and we were excited to finally enjoy a delicious meal with the ocean views that only gurneys could provide... or so we thought. Appetizers were flavorless and not worth the 75$ we spent on two dishes that each contained 3 bites of food each. We hoped that the main dishes could save our experience but unfortunately they were just as much of a let down as the appetizers. The seafood pasta was full of what seemed like the end of the night fish scraps and the "lobster pasta" had trace amounts of seafood and that's being generous. The flavors of all the dishes were lacking yet overwhelmingly offensive. I wish I could say the scenery saved this overpriced sad meal, but since we were seated in the dark, nothing helped. If it wasn't for our kind waiter who attended to us properly, I would have got up and left. Do better montauk. Anniversary dinner ruined.
The food here was excellent.
We came with a large party (10 adults, two children, and two babies) but they were able to seat us same days. The staff was very attentive, and very friendly (our server noticed that I was eyeing the octopus and brought us the appetizer on the house ). I had the short rib and bone marrow agnolotti, and my wife had the branzino- both delicious. I wish I had pics, but between the hustle and bustle, i wasn't able to take any. First rate restaurant in an absolutely gorgeous setting.
Went at the start of hamptons season, memorial day weekend.
It does seem like there was a lot of confusion with the staff that they were just figuring things out as service was slow for us and the tables around us. That being said, the ambience can't be beat. The ocean views and food (when they finally take your order) was amazing. The crowd is buzzing and mixed aged with both party goers (for the firepit) and families. Will be back for the ambience (hoping the service gets better with the season).
Excellent all the way around.
Cocktails were superb. Flavors and textures of dinner were amazing. Bar staff were fantastic. I highly recommend an evening at Scarpetta Beach.
Beautiful Location
One of the nicer restaurants in Montauk with arguably the best view. The food is good--service was excellent, we had a few food allergies in our party and the waitstaff was both knowledgeable and accommodating. The only knock on the restaurant I had was that one of the desserts was still frozen on the inside (not in a purposeful way) -- for the prices charged the expectation would be that that wouldn't happen. Worth the visit for the ambiance, location, and quality service.
Scarpetta Beach Montauk exceeded our expectations.
I celebrated my husband's birthday here, this restaurant went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect. The manager, Wally was very friendly in accommodating all my requests. The addition of a candle in the dessert we ordered truly made the occasion special. If you're craving a genuine Italian dining experience, Scarpetta Beach is the place to be. From the authentic accents of the staff to the mouthwatering cuisine, every aspect transports you to Italy. I highly recommend starting with their Tuna Sushi, Polenta, and Octopus as appetizers. For the main course, indulge in the exquisite Bone Marrow Agnolotti and Duck Ravioli - both bursting with rich flavors. And don't miss out on their decadent Budino for dessert. To accompany your meal, the Sanremo drink is a must-try; it perfectly complements the flavors of the dishes. Overall, Scarpetta Beach Montauk exceeded our expectations.

What a fantastic restaurant with great ambiance, food, and service. If you're staying at Gurney's, you must have dinner here. It's just complements the romantic weekend. I highly suggest starting with the Scallops appertizer and the Lobster Tagliolini. These were my favorites, although everything we had was delicious. My only disappointment is not being able to try some of the other pasta dishes.

Very pricey; only real dine in dinner restaurant option if you are staying overnight at Gurneys. 2 scallops for $30 and 1 large tentacle grilled octopus for $30.....only thing to note was it's very pretty inside with a dull elegant decor and ocean back drop. The cauliflower and the desserts are the only things I would recommend. The tagliatelle was good but too salty; the black cod was just ok. The branzino was good. The grape escape cocktail is good but $21. But service is amazing - they pace you slow and are very courteous.

The restaurant is located in the lobby at the famous gerneys resort and I definitely wanted to like this place more. I mean, the food was decent, and the service was good, but overall, it was not great for the price. For dinner, I got the blackened cod, which was rather tasty and cooked well. Portion size was a little small, but overall, I'd recommend it. My wife got a pasta dish, which was nicely homemade. However, it was also on the smaller side, especially for pasta. The atmosphere was nice. The outdoor area was very nice and had a bunch of igloos and outdoor firepits.
If you're looking for a restaurant to facilitate a romantic
If you're looking for a restaurant to facilitate a romantic dinner date, Scarletta Beach checks all the right boxes! To begin with, the location is awesome; the restaurant overlooks a lovely beach. The atmosphere is very well suited to a romantic tete-a-tete, the service is 1st tier, and the food is nothing short of exceptional :-) Tip: If you're a fan of well-crafted cocktails, I highly recommend their hibiscus margarita We shared our dinner family style; each of the dishes we tried was delicious and beautifully presented. The yellowtail crudi was sophisticated and delicately flavored, and the halibut was tasty and tender. We also both very much enjoyed the cod, but it seemed to be a bit too salty for my taste. We throughly enjoyed the entire dining experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to either return or to recommend this venue very highly!
Don't Bother!!!
Expected this restaurant to be better. Food was mediocre, at best. Table, dishes and glasses were very dirty. Host said filth on glasses were water spots. Glasses had abundant water spots but were also filthy. Also, no excuse for that many water spots, a responsible restaurant wipes them off. Appetizer plates were extremely greasy, you could write your name with your finger. Host brought new ones, and we wiped those down with lemon as well as the utensils. We drank bottled water straight from bottle, rather than use their glasses. The panoramic windows were beyond dirty. They looked as if in certain spots someone had thrown a vanilla milkshake and then rubbed it in a circular pattern. Vase of dead flowers with old smelly water was placed on every table. We wanted to try the "hyped up food" and we were extremely disappointed.Host was rude when he said to us " oh wow! you scarfed that down!" My husband and I eat slowly and we shared two appetizers and an entree, as entree menu was extremely limited and nothing sparked our interest. Even if we had "scarfed," it is rude and intentionally obnoxious to announce it loudly for other diners to be alerted. Also heard the manager boasting to another guest that their pizza was the best in the country if not the world. That is a big claim! We have travelled the world extensively and can attest that their food is lacking in flavor and presentation. The manager acted as a swollen headed, uneducated, unworldly classless rube. We will not be returning and advise you find a different italian restaurant when visiting Montauk, if that is your preference
Perfect Evening
We went to Scarpetta on a Saturday evening to celebrate the birthdays of two friends. The restaurant was pleasantly bustling, somewhat unusual for a November weekend in the Hamptons. The service was friendly, prompt, and efficient without being intrusive. We shared four appetizers (all great) with special mention of the roasted cauliflower. Each of us had our own entree (red snapper, duck, and lobster pasta), all excellent. The person who had the lobster pasta said it was the best he’d eaten. We also shared several desserts, to which the staff added candles and wrote Happy Birthday in chocolate sauce on the plates. We were all very impressed with the evening, and while on the expensive side, felt we’d gotten value for the price. Definitely returning.
Excelente servicio.
Lovely people loveeee the outside fireplace. Food is dinamite. Great service

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Yes unfortunately they are finding more and more ways to lock up sellers money. Sell thru rate, refund rate, limiting withdrawal amounts ler day and per month (which for me are the same number which makes no sense). Lot of sellers leaving as you can see from the lifetime sales not really increasing. Most posts on here are frustrated sellers which is not a recipe for success

I’m sorry to hear about this - I’m a brand new seller on the platform and didn’t realize this was a *thing* - any chance you can point me to the fine print/documentation where this policy is stated (also identifying other caveats like this would be appreciated)?
