Came here to celebrate one of my best friend's birthday.
The vibes are super intimate and romantic, so I understand why this is considered an upscale restaurant. We ordered the hummus and bread as an appetizer to share, and for the mains we got the duck and the halibut. Both dishes were tasty but for what you get I think the price was a tad bit steep. However, service was friendly and the food didn't take too long to come. For dessert we got the infamous coconut cream pie which we both thought was the highlight of the meal - they even wrote happy birthday in chocolate on the plate for my friend as per request. Overall a great meal and definitely a top choice for a special occasion!

Restaurant is good to spend time with friends and family
Be the first to ReplyScaramouche is one of our go-tos.
The food is always great and we are well taken care of. There are amazing views of the Toronto skyline and the valet parking is an awesome touch!

My wife and I celebrated her birthday here this past year, never having been before but highly recommended by close friends and business associates for years. The food was fantastic, the presentation extraordinary and the service attentive and efficient. Will be back for sure.

The food and service are as consistently wonderful as people say. The room and views are beautiful. Whether you are there for a special occasion or are a regular, you receive "special occasion " service.

We went here for an anniversary and it was a great experience. The restaurant ambiance is second to none, charming with a panoramic view of downtown Toronto skyline. The wait staff was attentive and service was great, making sure we were happy and had everything we needed. The food was tasty, fresh ingredients and Cooke to perfection. We had fresh oyster with lemon, delicious croquettes, the lobster risotto, and the slow cooked beef with pasta. They even helped us celebrate an anniversary with dessert! Would definitely recommend!

So very good, plus you get a surprise view of the city
Be the first to ReplyThis is my favorite restaurant in Toronto.
I've eaten there many times, and I've never been disappointed. The food is extraordinary and the service is fabulous. you feel very special when you have a meal there. It is great for a special occasion, or if you just want to treat yourself. It is worth every penny.

I recently dined at this wonderful restaurant, and it was an exceptional experience in every way. First and foremost, the people here are truly remarkable. The staff was not only professional but also incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel like cherished guests from the moment we walked in. Now, let's talk about the food - it was simply outstanding. Each dish we ordered was a masterpiece of flavor and presentation. From the appetizers to the dessert, every bite was a culinary delight. The chef's attention to detail and commitment to quality ingredients were evident in every dish. And the location! It's a charming spot that adds to the overall ambiance. We were lucky enough to dine on the outdoor patio, which offered a lovely view and a serene atmosphere. It's the perfect place to celebrate with friends and family, whether it's a special occasion or just a casual get-together. I can't recommend this restaurant enough. Great people, fantastic food, and a lovely location - it's the trifecta for a memorable dining experience. It's become my go-to place for celebrations, and I can't wait to return.

The Staff is professional and friendly. The menu always has balanced options that accommodate various dietary restrictions and the chef keeps things interesting with unique nightly specials.Scaramouche serves THE BEST CESAR SALAD IN TOWN, I hope they never take it off the menu :-O . As a vegetarian/pescatarian I appreciate their fish dishes. Whatever they serve tastes extremely FRESH and delicate as if it were recently caught -see photos-. If meat is your thing, my friend always raves about the steak/steak pasta entree. For dessert you can never go wrong with their COCONUT CREAM PIE. Complete with a nice thick crust and a rich, creamy filling that isn't overly sweet. It's a perfectly balanced dessert. I always have mine with tea. As for improvements, all I can say is that it wouldn't hurt to have a Non-DAIRY milk option for those who don't drink milk. It irks me al little every time I have to have cow's milk in my tea, I'll have to start bringing a little bottle with my own Almond milk :) . Warm water in the bathroom would also be nice, considering the price of dining is so high $$$$... Thats it... Thats All -KiKi

Very disappointing! It was our third and definitely last visit to this restaurant. The first time, everything was great, second time ok, and this time terrible. The cocktail was so sweet and weak. The bread and Hummus was ok but I expected more from bread in a French restaurant. The Borata was just ok. The worst part was the main. So much butter in the food you could hardly taste anything else. We ordered medium rare steak, but it was completely rare. This restaurant is now more like a new branch of "The Keg", rather than what it used to be.

Be the first to ReplyWe recently had dinner at Scaramouche.
It was an excellent experience. Our drinks were nice and strong. Service was attentive and friendly. We started with Tuna Tartare and some bread with hummus. Both were prepared perfectly. My wife had scallops for the main course and I had the filet mignon. We enjoyed both of our dishes very much. The coconut cream pie was an excellent finish to our dinner.Overall it was a great experience and made for a memorable meal. There may be newer and hipper restaurants in Toronto's ever changing restaurant scene but Scaramouche will always be a classic stalwart in my book.
Be the first to ReplyAn absolutely magical hidden gem in Toronto.
We had an absolutely amazing experience celebrating a birthday. The service was impeccable, and the food, equally superb. For the appetizer we got halibut fritters, which were light but packed with immense flavour! My main was the lobster with seafood risotto , also incredible . Scaramouche is definitely a restaurant that does not hold back on using the best ingredients. Truly wonderful. Definitely recommend. 20/10.
Be the first to ReplyCame here for my mother's birthday celebration.
I've been here before, when I was much younger, so I didn't really appreciate the food like I did this time around. The service was really great, and the ambience/atmosphere was fitting too. Probably suited towards an older crowd, but there were some young faces in the midst of all the grey hair (hehe)The food was very good. We had the fois gras terrine, special sweet corn soup, lobster, filet mignon, lamb, Ontario peaches dessert and obviously the coconut cream pie. Each dish was very flavourful and had a subtle richness that didn't overpower the taste. The seafood risotto that came with the lobster was to die for, and the whipped potatoes with the filet mignon were such a nice touch. However, the ratio of fois gras to brioche was way off and they charged $5 for another, which in my opinion is kind of stupid (considering the meal was $500). In addition, i wish there was more lobster. So yes, this place is quite pricey, it's good, but I think they could have been a *little* bit more generous with some of the portions. The coconut cream pie, as usual, was DELICIOUS. I didn't try the Ontario peaches dessert but from what I heard it was tasty too. Definitely recommend if you have $$ to spend or if you are looking for somewhere to go for a special occasion. 8/10

In the same spot and with the same name since 1980 is a very rare achievement in the restaurant business, but Scaramouche has managed it by offering great service and beautiful plating with an amazing city view. The menu is consistent (if a "40 years of Scaramouche Cookbook" were to be published, it wouldn't be very thick), but it's forgivable since my last visit here predated Yelp. The coconut cream pie is still the same, but since everyone orders it, perhaps a seasonal variation? (Peach-coconut in summer, chocolate-coconut in winter... but only alongside the original of course!). We began by splitting the peppercorn pasta entree ($35) as our appetizer- a brilliant move, since it's richness could overwhelm as an entree. Next the expertly executed scallops ($45), and the equally beautiful duck ($45). We both finished (of course) with the pie ($15), but wished we'd shared a single serving (it's small, but filling). To impress Michelin, an amuse course or petit-fours would help, but even without, it's still pretty star-worthy (we shall see soon enough).

Joanne Kates was right when she ranked this restaurant best in the city some years ago. Lived up to expectations. I now like to refer to Toronto as that city where Scaramouche is located. Food and service were impeccable. Wine by the glass choices were great. I had a Macon and a Napa Valley cabernet sauvignon. Duck breast was to die for.
Be the first to Replygood service and expert waiter.
This restaurant provide very traditional french food for us and they taste really good.

Excellent food and service. Can't recommend enough!

Scaramouche! Really cool restaurant with some awesome food and impeccable service. We took a Lyft to the restaurant and honestly thought we were in the wrong area. Located in a residential area in a luxury condo community called The Benvenuto (One Benvenuto Place). The Buenenuto Valet can point you in the right direction and you see a clear glass door with an acid sketched logo on the door. It is kind of cool.Upon walking in the door there is a lobby and a set of stairs that leads to reception. Inside is a sophisticated restaurant with a great view of downtown Toronto. For our meal, we started with a Bread and Hummus for Two ($7) with a selection of sourdough and a cracker type bread from the Bread Baking Co. It was served with yummy house made hummus with paprika and tahin. For the appetizer, we went with the Foie Gras Terrine ($31) with a sea salt brioche, pickled grapes, riesling jelly, Triple crunch mustard, toasted hazelnuts and sour cherry reduction. It was beautifully divided in half so two could share and plated. Very rich and accented well with the other flavors on the plate. For dinner, my partner had the special which was the Australian Lamb Chops. He said it was one of the best dishes he has ever had and he enjoyed it with a glass of 2018 Côtes du Rhône Sablet.I went with the Peppercorn Fettuccine ($35)Beef tenderloin, oyster mushrooms, Madeira cream, some pine nuts, and a gruyere bread crumb crust. I loved the dish and the beef and pasta was absolutely wonderful and definitely recommend this dish. For dessert, I had the famous Coconut Cream Pie ($15) and was delightful. I really enjoyed the crust. It was perfect and the pie had a delicious coconut custard, a chantilly cream, white giant chocolate shavings and dark chocolate sauce. This is another must try and was served at a perfect temperature. My partner loves chocolate so he chose the Chocolate and Cherry dessert ($15). It has a dark chocolate mousse, cherry sorbet and marinated fresh black cherries. I had a bite and I could have eaten a pint of that cherry sorbet. This was such a nice evening out with amazing food (absolute complements to the Chef), exceptional dining service, and a breathtaking view. I highly recommend this fabulous French restaurant but make sure to grab reservations to secure your spot.

Be the first to ReplyAmazing! The server was very knowledgeable and made great
Amazing! The server was very knowledgeable and made great recommendations! The soup of the day was this mushroom puree soup and it was amazing, real mushrooms, you can taste and it wasn't fibrous like when you usually puree something. Grilled Octopus was so good but hate that the portion is small. Tender, not dry and had a nice grill taste without being burnt.Pan Seared Sea Scallops was really good with the different flavor pallets of pear(?) And other dressing (can't remember now!) With mash potatoes. The half lobster was prepared well but only half a lobster, we wanted more!!Great view of Toronto and you get complementary valet parkingOverall 10/10 would recommend!!
