Sandals Royal Caribbean Montego Bay Reviews from The Last Year
Welcome to relaxation..
We just returned from our 2nd time at SRC over our wedding anniversary week. We stayed in a pool/garden walk out with a soaking tub. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. We love SRC for the tranquility, with the option of going to SMoBay for dining and more activities. The private island at SRC is such a treat and we love to spend the day there at the beach and grab lunch at the Jerk Shack. We cannot thank the staff enough for making our stay so enjoyable. There are a few staff we want to call out specifically for going above and beyond for us: Faedra our TLC rep was able to get us a reservation at Butch’s for our anniversary and she stopped by the next day to check and ensure we had a wonderful dinner. Jagon the bartender at the piano bar was a delight. Theodore at the lobby bar in Montego Bay. Horace and the staff at Butch’s are fantastic. Mikis “miki” At the dive shop taught my husband to SNUBA and he enjoyed it, one of his top 5 all time trip adventures. Damion was always serving us with a smile and so friendly and so was Jafari at the Mariner. Bokeem is the best bartender! Fantastic sense of humor and great drinks at Cricketer! Joy and Chavel made our last dinner at Royal Thai so enjoyable, they were always going above and beyond checking on us and ensuring we had a perfect meal. These exceptional staff are the exact reason we come back to Beaches/Sandals resorts and we look forward to returning “home” here again soon.
This is simply one of the best all inclusives you will experience
This is not our first Sandals, so I guess we shouldn't be surprised about the excellence of the entire experience, but it's still worth saying - This is simply one of the best all inclusives you will experience. They were friendly and welcoming and professional and efficient from start to finish. Our suite was in the newly completed Highgrove House (recommended!!) and was lovely, spacious and fully appointed. My wife found the bed too firm; we asked for a topper at breakfast and it was in place by the time we got back from the pool (it was so fast I had to double check!) It's a small quiet resort, and whilst there is a decent selection of restaurants on the resort, it's worth taking a shuttle to the sister resort (less than 5 mins) to sample the restaurants there (especially Soy - the sushi restaurant). The food is generally excellent, and the wines & beverages are all top shelf, but you can also find local ones as well (for a change). You can branch out and buy wine from the wine list, but since the partnership with Robert Mondavi, the house wines are really all you need. Full disclosure: being literally next door to the airport means that the sound of passing jets is very loud, but honestly by Day 2 you are used to it, and it did not really detract from he holiday. Special mentions for excellent service to: - Alexis at the Highgrove pool bar, - Gervene (everywhere - she must have been following us around!) - Marketta - great voice and lovely fun personality - Ronaldo - who was sooooo patient with us when we booked our next stay ! - Tameka - Lovely sense of humour - made us laugh all the time - Cordelia - amazing Himalayan Salt Stone massage!!
Great experience!
Rosan did an amazing job cleaning and restocking our room each day during our stay! She was very attentive to details and very thorough! Room 2206 was a great central location by the pool and beach. All the restaurants were very delicious, we didn’t have a bad meal at all!
Wonderful retreat
Gorgeous lush greenery and smaller intimate resort. The food was five star and the staff could not have been any more attentive. My husband and I love Jamaica and the Sandals resorts. We will definitely come back to this one.
Best Vacation Ever Ya Man!
Royal Caribbean Resort was the absolute best vacation ever! The most friendliest staff I have ever encountered. Katrina, our butler was amazing!! The Entertainment was so much fun and so many of the staff are so talented!! There was a soprano saxophone player that was amazing!! The food was so good! We enjoyed the Thai Restaurant was amazing! The breakfast bar had the best breakfast food, oh, the fruit was phenomenal!! We went over to Montego Bay and reserved Butchs Steakhouse on our last night there and I don’t even like steak but I had the Filet Mignon and the seasoning was perfect and oh so tender! The Mac n cheese was the best I’ve ever had! The Willy Wonka crème Brûlée was so good! Even though we were stuffed we went to Cafe Paris and got a cookies/cream Frappuccino, some cheesecake and brownies!! Everything was absolutely top notch! All the restaurants were superb! Thank you for such an awesome experience! It was the best!!
Sandals Royal Carribean
This was our 65th night at a different Sandals. We had an amazing time at this small , but large in Fun - resort! The jerk chicken to the room was fabulous!! We arrived after having stayed at the new DUNN’s River and didn’t know how we’d feel - coming from brand new place —- but this was an amazing vacation! Our room was so nice. Food was great. Beach is very small but never looked for a chair- as well as pools There is construction here at this time…. It’s expected to hear some noise.
Birthday-Anniversary Celebration
The resort is beautiful and easy to get around in. The service from the staff is excellent! Everyone is so kind and accommodating! Location is great and amenities are more than you need! We loved the daily activities around the pool and the evening entertainment! Hard to choose what we like best because it was all great! The only thing we didn't like was getting woke up by the leaf blower every morning between 6:15-6:30,
Great babymoon
We booked this trip last minute for our babymoon - and it was the best decision we've made. First full day we had a massage at the red lane spa and I made a pre natal massage with Keron - he was great. Then we spend the day at the cabana on the private island. Merlon took very good care of us as our butler for the day. We got special breakfast there and also lunch. We spent time in the pool and watched the fishes go by our cabana. Merlon made sure I had lots of mocktails. It was our anniversary and babymoon so the club team made sure that on our last day our room was beautifully decorated and allowed for my husband and I do have a romantic evening and a warm tub with petals and a fruit platter. The room was decorated by Jodi-Ann and Tsheeka. It was so beautiful and really made the trip super special. My husband enjoyed scuba diving 3 times in our stay. He enjoyed spending time with Shaq. The dive team was great. The restaurants we enjoyed the most were Bombay and Royal Thai. Very delicious and the waitress at Royal Thai made Joy was very welcoming and warm. Rolando at the rewards member was extremely helpful and kind and helped us book our next trip to beaches.
Excellent way to celebrate 10 years
My wife and I booked an over the water bungalow at Royal Caribbean and it could not have been a more perfect experience. Our butlers, Francios and Jen anticipated our needs before we even knew we had them. All dinners booked for us, and willing to change when our plans changed. Romantic meals served directly in the room. Drinks brought to us throughout the day as we sat out on the deck in the perfect weather. The food at all of the restaurants was great. my favorite was the Rogan Josh at Bombay. My wife's was the Chicken Cordon Blue at Le Jardinier.
We travel often and have not had this much trouble
We travel often and have not had this much trouble organizing a trip. Our Sandals vacation has been daunting just to book. If it was not for a suprise Birthday party taking place on property we would change the reservations to another hotel. We have had to rebook the airlines using the Sandals website and Sandals Telephone operator , called three times for that request, just responded to the Sandals request to pre book our room and the employees was unable to help, explaining that their website wasn't working, Yet, she was able to see that we had not booked any activities and tried to book us on several of the activities, Except the one we wanted. pre checkin. So, I not sure if the pre check request is a ruse or that their website can not pre check rooms but can pre check for activities( all without a room number) Hopefully, the week of our stay is more organized than the sign up and precheck.
It took housekeeping 2 days for a visit.
We were getting ready for our wedding & they finally showed up asked us if they could clean the room. Evening entertainment was not very good. We expected the stuff listed on the website; white night, reggae music, all white party, beach party, Caribbean night. One night we got a saxophone playing 80's music. Older crowd. The Montego Bay resort, shuttle ride away was nicer & spread out. The menus have more selections & the vibe is way different. Maybe we expected way more fun? The Montego Bay or Negril will be our next trip.
Overall, the stay was pretty good.
The first full day we were there, someone on staff had only taken our towels off our chairs but no one else's at the pool due to what they claimed as the towels were soaked. They were soaked because it was raining. What they didn't realize was that they had also taken a pack of cigarettes and a custom engraved zippo lighter that was wrapped in it. When it was brought up to the higher ups at the resort they tried to make it seem that because we had been drinking we lost it and/or left it in the room and had told us that they may need to check out room. The next day they found us right before lunch with our lighter and cigarettes in which they found in the laundry wrapped in the towel as we had originally described. At this location they have several places to eat dinner and lunch. They have the beach bar and a pizza spot next to it with delicious pizza, chicken and beef patties, chili cheese dogs, etc. They have Bombay which is Indian Cuisine. It was delicious! This requires a reservation. They have a delicious Thai restaurant on Sandals Cay that also requires a reservation. They have an Italian restaurant, The cricketer which is an English restaurant and Spices. They also have a delicious French restaurant that requires a reservation as well. I will say the Bartender at the Cricketer- Bokeem is the best!!! Can serve and entertain for hours!! We also really enjoyed our couples message! Nicola and Erickson did a phenomenal job and had great recommendations for products to use at home from the spa. I've never had such a great experience like this at a spa at any other all-inclusive resort I've been too!
Spent a week here yesterday.
The grounds are beautiful, the surfside amenities available are chicken/pork jerk, ice cream, hot dogs and nachos, burgers and fries in three separate huts. Ocean side bars keep one thirstless and tipsy. This venue is Holiday Inn near Sangster airport. Gated and safe. Staff vary from friendly to indifferent. There is a huge dining area but the food is never hot though with selection one manages. There are 4 restaurants require booking a space. All pretty good. Jamaican, Japanese, Italian and sea food. 2 of these require a payment (Japanese $29 a seat and seafood $39 a seat if you want lobster) )There are 7 large occupancy bldgs. The poolside is hugely loud at night and during supper meal. Quite annoying for old farts. We were in building 7 on far west end of property. A long walk back to the functions but it's good viewing at sea shore. This building 7 is the so called "quiet" adult building, how that's interpreted is up for grabs because tho you don't hear the loudspeakers and music at poolside, you are near a major thoroughfare, the A1...can I tell you it's the noisiest road ever during day and into late evening. Traffic has no brake pedals, just horn and gas. They speed and blow horns constantly and every tractor trailer truck emphasizes their passing with the loudest Jake breaks I ever heard, and I am a retired trucker. It is fairly quiet at night however. The rooms are not elegant but functional the shower is hot the maids do well Not their fault, but sangster airport is a bizarre place to get through. 3 pinch points for security before you even see customs. Long long long lineups and u need to have ur S**t together. I wud return here for the experience but frankly the travel side really sucks. Probably a deal breaker for me going forward.
i really debated if i should post a review or not because
i really debated if i should post a review or not because im just so torn over the whole experience. there were a lot of pros, a lot of cons, but over all- just nothing that stood out as "make it or break it" it was just...okay. it was a great vacation. but it definitely wasnt worth the money. the staff were all very professional and friendly. the food was phenomenal. but i could get all this elsewhere. the beach was so, so small. the water is gorgeous but it's "roped off" at about 5' depth, so not a lot of "swimming." we paid for a massage which was a joke, my cat could give a better massage. the drinks from the bars are all really great (expectedly weak but not as much as weak as we were expecting). my biggest frustration was the size of the resort. it's good because everything is easily within walking distance. but it's so small, and they've crammed so many guests into the resort that...you can't get a chair on the beach (which is CRAMMED with chairs) unless you have a butler. i struggled to get reservations at the restaurants i wanted to try. the pool bar was slammed all day and all night, but the others aren't bad. also, room service- it's going to take a hour, two hours or more (if they answer the phone so you can order...) we paid for a cabana, which was very cool. that was worth the price, but with the price we paid we were expecting butler service. we saw our butler twice that day... just something to think about when planning. i'm really glad we did the sandals thing, but i probably wouldn't do it again. i most certainly wouldn't do this particular resort again, and i wouldn't do it over knowing what i know now. again- it was good, overall. just not at all worth the price tag.
Sandals Royal Caribbean was our 3rd Sandals trip as always
Sandals Royal Caribbean was our 3rd Sandals trip as always we had such an amazing. Our room was the Walkout Swim up Crystal Lagoon Honeymoon Butler Suite. This room was older then the last 2 rooms we had stayed in at other resorts but we didn't have a probably with it at all. First off they have pool just a few steps from opening the door of your room and we did stay at that pool a lot. I will say the only issue with this room was that it didn't cool the best but we asked our butlers about this and they quickly got us another fan for the room that saved us. We also did have a mini fridge die but also no problem and was taken care of very quickly. Our butlers Dwayne and Sherri-Anne were amazing and our trip would not have been the same without them. Pray to the gods you get them. You gotta love Sandals since it is all-inclusive so that's all you can eat and all you can drink. What 3 apps, 3 entrees, and 2 deserts at dinner?!?!?! You got it!!!! Also most rooms come stocked with wine, beer, and liquor (and if your butler level you get to pick your liquor). The restaurants are amazing and there are so many options, Thai, Indian, French, Caribbean, Italian. If you can think of it you can get it. My favorite restaurant at our last 2 Sandals Resorts including Royal Caribbean would have to be the Indian restaurant Bombay. The Jamaican Jerk Shack is also very good. For sure better then cruise food. This resort is for sure smaller and not as wild as the last 2 we stayed at but we didn't mind that at all. Only issue we had we the main pool was pretty small and did get dirty pretty quickly. But if you want bigger and crazier you can take the bus to the Montego Bay Resort party and eat and drink their. Also since this is a smaller more intimate resort they do have a nude beach at the island. We love Sandals and cannot wait for our next trip come Summer 2025.
My wife and I live & breathe Sandals! Royal Caribbean was
My wife and I live & breathe Sandals! Royal Caribbean was actually our first ever Sandals stay and we've been hooked ever since. We visited Sandals Royal Caribbean for my wife's friend who was getting married down the street at Sandals Montego Bay! The Service: Family! That's what you feel like. You instantly feel part of the family when you walk in. Everyone here is extremely nice and it's completely genuine. They're not out trying to get extra tips, they genuinely want you to enjoy yourself and have fun with them while you're there. The Food & Drinks: The food options are amazing. There are so many restaurants on the property and if you want to try a restaurant at Sandals Montego Bay, a shuttle will drive you. They even have an after hour pub that offers food options a super late at night! The alcohol options is pretty top tier in comparison to other all-inclusive resorts I've stayed at. More top shelf options for sure. The Property: The rooms are so nice! They have so many view and patio options. There are also many amenities and excursions that are included in the stay. We did the glass bottom boat tour and it was beautiful! Y'all, they have a NUDE BEACH. Well, it's not really a beach but it's a chill area that is clothing optional. First time I ever did anything like that, and it felt freeing. Highly recommend. Step out of your comfort zone sometimes. Overall, definitely check it out! This was our first Sandals and we've been to 5 total now. Love Sandals!!
This is going to be a short review because if you don't
This is going to be a short review because if you don't like Sandals I'm not going to convince you you're wrong on Yelp you just have to go experience it for yourself. My husband and I love the Sandals resorts and keep coming back because with everything being all inclusive we can actually relax. This particular location is not quite as upgraded as other Sandals we have been to but they were in the process of making some upgrades so it won't be long before it is immaculate. The staff is really the best part of any Sandals well them as the free flowing abundance of drinks. I love taking a nap on a raft in a pool! The food at Sandals is good but it's not going to be the best you've ever had however because it is all inclusive it is a great chance to try something new. Also the food is MUCH BETTER than cruise food, I cannot stress this enough it is so much better! This resort like all others has a party pool but it is mostly a resort for relaxation with your loved one. I can't wait for our next trip!
Overall a great resort.
Pools are great as are the entertainers and the bartenders. Beach is pretty subpar but pleasant. Restaurant food is ok but not great and wait staff are slow to very slow and inattentive. With the exception of the mariners and cricketers. Most restaurants aren't that busy and require reservations but you have to wait quite a while still. The butlers are awesome and the room are well furnished. Really the only thing that gives me pause at sandals are the wait times, service and quality of selections at the restaurants. Everything else is awesome. Also the beach here is better than most of the sandals beaches I've been to.
I want to give both the pros and cons of this place.
This review is primarily based on my own biased opinion and what I expect out of a resort. Pros: Beautiful resort. It is smaller which makes everything in the resort walking distance and easier access. Everyone was friendly. Easy drive to and from airport. Access to the Montego Bay resort was always nice. We had a swim out room without a butler and it was such a relaxing and private environment. Food was amazing. They provided us with our own personal fan, which made the room that much more comfortable. Cons: As soon as we got to our vehicle for transportation to the resort we were asked for a tip. The whole time we were there we felt as though they wanted more money. Checking out today we did not get asked, "how was your stay" but asked "are you SURE there's nothing else you would like to purchase?" I thought the staff were friendly but lazy. You could see it in some of their faces that they were high. I didn't feel as if I was a special guest but as a burden. The swim out pool was nice and private but the bar that was there, never did someone come and ask if we needed something to drink until there was a manager on site. We had to keep getting out of the pool to go get our own drinks. No speakers out there so no music being played. The beach was pretty small. There were two speakers, one at the beach and one at the pool that would overlap each other and make it hard to hear any music or games that were being played. The food is amazing, the only down side is there aren't many healthy options. We did a private cabana, that was really nice but our butler was really high by the end of it. Also, you are not provided with a personal phone anymore so the butler comes when he comes. The transportation to the other resort is a great touch. I do wish it ran every 30 minutes instead of every hour. We had to wait an hour for it to come one day because we caught it on their break time. We have a bar code to scan for room service. It brings us to a menu that we can order from. I called and ordered three things and was told they could not do 2/3 things and that if I wanted that I would have to come to the beach to get it myself. It was pretty disappointing after the money we spent for this place. Entertainment is 2/5 stars. We caught one show that was pretty entertaining. We went 2 more nights and we were highly disappointed and never went back. We saw 1 show out of 7 nights. None of the games or entertainment peaked out interest. The resort is not all inclusive with drinks. You get what they provide and any other alcohol you may want is extra. We wanted a glass of moscato, "you can't buy just a glass, you have to buy the whole bottle for $30." We wanted Tito's in our room, "you can have that for an additional fee." This place was all about more money.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.

LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.
Appointment
Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil
🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🧨🧨🧨 now on to 30 mill!
Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
