Lovely resort property in gorgeous Montecito.
Very professional, friendly attentive staff. We had massages, lunch& loved it so much went back the same evening for epic wine pairing dinner in the wine cellar of the Stone House. Pricey, but very special ambience.

The grounds are stunning !! The food was delicious and the staff were so kind and friendly. It was a refreshing and relaxing experience. My mother and I had a lovely time . Definitely worth the trip.
Be the first to ReplyMy girlfriend and I revisited the ranch for lunch.
It was outstanding. The restaurant is just so beautiful with a wonderful view. Food was very good. We had the lobster dumplings which were excellent and the Korean tacos which were really tasty. Our main course was a killer burger, and I had gazpacho. Both were excellent. Sounds crazy to mention this, but the olive oil was exceptional. Our waiter was wonderful and service with paced very nicely-no rushing. I would recommend if you are looking for a lovely way to have an afternoon lunch.

I'm a lucky one because I live less than a mile from San Ysidro Ranch.... it's an amazing to visit for dinner, massage, and.... hair. The hair stylist, Shannon Phillips - right there at SYR - is excellent. If you've never had your hair done JUST THE WAY YOU HAVE ALWAYS WANTED IT, Shannon is the hair stylist to see. Her excellence, including skill, experience, talent, AND her sweetness and genuine care about her clients is unrivaled. I love her.... she is not to be missed whether you're a guest at SYR or a local.

We went for dinner and it was one of the best dinner experiences of my life! Absolutely beautiful location, delicious food presented in an elegant way, exceptional service....just perfection! I will definitely make this a part of any future trips to Santa Barbara!

This review is LONG overdue, but was important for me to write! I enjoyed lunch on the garden patio with friends on December 27. There were six of us and we all had the prix fixe menu with an aperol spritz. The prix fixe menu is about $35 per person which is a reasonable price for a nice lunch and the setting is beautiful. The service was also very good. On January 5 I returned to have dinner with three friends in celebration of the New Year. We were seated indoors in the small stone room to the left as you go up the steps of the property. In trying to decide what I would have for dinner I asked our server about his recommendation between two of the fish dishes that were on the menu. He proceeded to explain each dish and then told me that the sole was the chef's special. This was not one of the dishes that I had inquired about. One of my friends commented that the sole was for two people and our server said that they could prepare it for just one. At $190 for two, I made the mistake of assuming that the dish would be approximately $100. Definitely, overpriced for sole, but I chose it, since I was told that it is the chef's special. When our server brought my sole to the table, it came out on a cart which he positioned behind my chair where I could not see it. He then proceeded to filet the whole fish and plate it. I turned around to see what he was doing and commented on the fact that it was a lot of fish. If the fileting of the fish is so special that it's done in presentation style at the table, why didn't he position the cart at the end of our table where I would watch the process? (This is what the manager did when he served us our dessert.) He told me that he would plate up the other filet (there were two coming from each half of the fish) for the table to share. I noticed that he only brought out one serving of the side dishes which were asparagus and small potatoes. At that moment I had this feeling that I would be paying for sole for two, as was stated on the menu, and not for one as our server alleged. The fish was good, but nothing over the top great. Sole is a tender, white fish that is hard to mess up when it's prepared, and it was not worth $190! When our bill came I looked at it to see how much I'd been charged for the sole, and as I suspected, the bill reflected the full amount of $190. At that moment I should have questioned our server and asked to speak to the manager, but I chose not to do that feeling somewhat intimidated. I paid my share of the bill regretting having ordered the sole. So for the sole, one glass of wine, a shared dessert, and the tip I paid $250 for my meal. I feel that it is important to note that I am a foody. I have enjoyed good food and wine my whole adult life and am willing to pay for top-notch dishes. I grew up in the Napa Valley, and lived most of my adult life in the Bay Area where quality restaurants far exceed anything available in the Santa Barbara area. $190 for the sole at San Ysidro is a joke! I take full responsibility for not speaking up at that moment to our server and the manager, but please note that I will not return. I have also shared this story with my friends and will continue to do so. San Ysidro is a lovely property, but you need to be more realistic with your menu prices in relation to the level of your menu options. Your staff should also be trained to be honest and provide clarity when making recommendations such as what our server made to me. I can't remember his name, but I think it might be Brandon or Brendon or something similar.

The San Ysidro Ranch not only offers gorgeous rooms, a stunning property, a sultry speakeasy, but they now offer a Champagne Brunch! The ambiance both inside and out is absolutely breathtaking! This spot definitely is one worth going to for that special occasion, a needed getaway or just to impress the one you love!!
Be the first to ReplyI ordered high tea for 7 women.
All the treats were placed down at once. Only enough food /treats for about 3 to 4 people. Not sure if it was worth about $600. They only had tea and water. The servers didn't even pour the tea. Nice atmosphere but ...

We came to San Ysidro Ranch for their afternoon tea after seeing an advertisement in the paper! The view was amazing, the grounds were super maintained and beautiful. My highlight of the afternoon tea was the service, the employees were very attentive, kind and informative. This was my first afternoon tea but the food was really great and filling, the tea selection was plenty and the tea was good very smooth. I would come back here in the future.
Be the first to ReplyExceptional in every way.
Incredibly expensive and worth every penny. The most comfy, quaint rooms on the most beautiful grounds. A must.

We came to the spa for massages and decided to splurge because a website said that we would have access to the facilities. When we got there we realized there is no shower, no steam room or anything. Just a room with chairs and a fireplace to wait for the masseuse. We were also informed that we were not allowed access to the pool or facilities. The woman working at the desk was very nice and this was certainly not her fault but we were obviously really disappointed and never would have spent that much money for a massage only with no other services or facilities. Additionally, the massage was terrible. It seemed like the masseuse had never done this before and was simply rubbing my body rather than massaging. My friend had a different masseuse and really enjoyed her treatment, so it's probably just hit or miss depending on who you get. Would not recommend as a spa, it's over priced and pretty simple. We were told that the manager would call us to compensate us in some way for the misunderstanding but we haven't received a call.

We went to the restaurant and the ambiance was amazing but the food was so boring. Everything was overpriced and bland. The service was also just ok. I think this is a place to come for dessert and drinks.

This is such a lovely resort! When I visit Montecito this will be where I stay. The cottages are all romantic, the food in the restaurants are delicious, and the grounds are very special. I even found the front desk staff to be friendly and efficient. I can't wait to go back!

One of the best places I've ever dined!!!! It's so beautiful, so majestic, so intimate. We were there in the evening hours, so the lighting and the atmosphere blew our minds. And the food is to die for! I've never seen such an eloquent waiter in my life. The check was a little up there, but the whole thing worth every penny!!!
Be the first to ReplyThe atmosphere is magical at San Ysidro Ranch.
We come here for dinner whenever we are in Montecito and it's truly like being transported to another world, filled with twinkle lights and beautiful flowers. The staff are all so kind and the food and drinks are amazing. I would love to stay here some day as a guest and cannot even imagine how beautiful it would be to get married onthe property. Staying there is pricey but going for dinner is a great way to experience the ranch without breaking the bank. It's definitely a perfect place for your next special occasion meal or celebration.

The setting. The service. Extradinaire . Definitely expensive. Wish I could dine there all the time! A definite hidden jewel in the heart of Montecito.

Few wedding venues are anywhere near as beautiful as San Ysidro Ranch, and they exist I imagine in faraway places. As a Southern Californian bride I was searching in vain for somewhere lovely to say I do when I finally found San Ysidro. I scheduled a tour with my fiancรฉ and mom, and once we got there among the flowers and hummingbirds I felt instantly at peace. All three of us knew we had found what we had been looking for. My wedding at San Ysidro was the most beautiful, momentous day of my life. I completely understand why people have been entranced by the magic of the place for hundreds of years. San Ysidro Ranch is true luxury, and I couldn't be more grateful that I got to experience it with all of my loved ones at my side.
Be the first to ReplyProbably the most beautiful resort in California.
From the moment you drive into the property you are in awe with all the olive trees and lavender lined up welcoming you. Heavenly .....The property is full of many unique cottages. Prices vary depending on the size and location of the cottage. It's pretty pricy but worth every penny. The perfect spot for a special celebration. Pictures don't do justice, you have to see it yourself.

This setting is magical - I felt that I was transported into a different world. The service, food and atmosphere are beautiful and delicous. Not stuffy - definitely reserve in advance and ask to sit on their patio
Be the first to ReplyHuge fan of the restaurant but not so much for the spa.
Booked a spa day for about $800 and massage was not full body, facial also missed parts of the massage that are supposed to be included, and the pedicure left me with an injury. The lunch was below average and they made me get up in the middle of my meal to go to my locker to get my credit card. I had to cover my meal and drinks to go get the card from the locker to prevent the flies from attacking, just to go back to enjoying my subpar meal. We gave them a credit card in the beginning. Why do they not have that on reference or file for everything else? Also note that for $800 there are no dry or wet sauna rooms, no showers, etc. Basic average services for a very high price tag. I will say the staff was very nice. However , there are definitely better places for the price tag.

The most beautiful garden and setting I've ever seen in the United States. Food was good, not outstanding. It's meant to be a very basic menu. But the easy food and beyond beautiful environment led to a magical experience

Nestled deep in the Montecito village hills lyes an oasis of peace and tranquillity. A place of ultimate seclusion from the city life some of us sometimes need to escape. The sound of hummingbirds flying by during the day and the soothing sounds of an orchestra of crickets by night. These vine covered cottages are a perfect getaway spot or even a little fairytale wedding from what I've seen. And it has its own signature salon and spa to make this hideaway more reason to stop by. This legendary hideaway also had a rich history of iconic stars staying here at one of their many cottages and get this, The famous Kennedys use this spot as a honeymoon spot. Can you say Fun Fact alert! The area is truly breathtaking and my pictures cannot duplicate what you see in person but believe me it's definitely a sight to see. If you happen to need a little aquatic exercise there's a pool at the top of the hill and that requires a nice little hike depending what cottage one's staying at. The service is what you expect when you come to a getaway like this and it hits the mark on all points. I must not forget to mention you can actually book a tour of the property before deciding on where to stay. And that's my take on this hidden oasis, Peace.

My husband and I came here for spa treatments (pedicure + reflexology massage) it's was wonderful! Ambiance A+, the owner/manager was so sweet, and pedicurist, Angela, was very attentive. A++! Pricey but we'll worth the experience not to mention the zero gravity seats putting you in a relaxed state of mind. Looking forward to going back again. As you'd expect the spa deserves a 5 star rating.
Be the first to ReplyThis place is pure garbage.
If you want a great experience try nearby Bacara Resort or Rosewood Miramar Beach or Belmond El Encanto. THOSE are truly 5-star resorts and a much, much better value than The San Ysidro Ranch which is a dump staffed by rude, unaccommodating, unengaged employees who act like they hate their jobs and that customer service is an inconvenient intrusion on their lives.Incredibly disappointing, overpriced and overrated.
Be the first to ReplyThe perfect getaway.
This place has my heart! It is secluded, beautifully decorated, and the property is adorned with stunning flowers and landscaping. It feels like a fairytale. Our room was elegant and rustic, with vaulted ceilings and a claw foot tub. We had our own hot tub, outdoor shower and outdoor sitting area. The staff was considerate and extremely deliberate in showing us we were welcome and cared for. There were sprigs of lavender and rosemary strewn about the room, making everything smell fresh. We ate at The Stonehouse one night, it was delicious and the staff was attentive and helpful. We ordered room service for breakfast and it arrived quickly and was fresh and tasty!! This might be my favorite hotel in the world!?
