Creative culinary experience, excellent service
Very creative dining experience. Service was fantastic; Drew, Hillary, Lauren, Trey, Jordan, and Ana’s knowledge about the food and wine, and their friendly professionalism made this meal a fun culinary adventure. Highly recommend.

Be the first to ReplyMust do in New Orleans!
My husband and I live out of town, and we really have to prioritize which restaurants to visit when we come to New Orleans, but this is one of our few repeats! Saint-Germain is delicious, and worth the substantial cost. The staff are knowledgable without being pretentious, and will answer questions about each course. Get the wine pairing!
Be the first to ReplyUnassuming and Perfect!
Perfect. In every way. Attentive but not stuffy or pretentious. I always hoped that old school would finally be punctuated by new love in a true New Orleans experience. Not that this is "New Orleans Food." Arrive sober and enjoy beautiful food, with the thoughtfully paired natural wines they curate. This stands up to any Michelin tasting menus I have experienced, and at a 1/3 of the cost. Go in a tank top if ya want. This is the real deal. So much love. We were in tonight. (Kudos to the music as well. Very tasteful and broad in spectrum)
Be the first to ReplyBeat fine dining in Nola
Let we walk you through 10 courses of deliciousness! As you enter you are greeted with warmth and hospitality from the amazing staff and taken to the bar where you start your dining journey. You begin with a Roasted onion and Parmesan broth! I wanted to just ask for a full bowl of this and call it a night it was so amazing! Next you move to Hokkaido scallop, crispy potato topped with fermented jalapeño. Followed by a Gougère stuffed with lamb. Both bites were equally delicious! For course no. 4 we were brought Wagyu over rice and a surprise 4.5 course of Tempura squash blossom! Then you are moved to the cozy dining room for the rest of your dinner. The restaurant is literally in an old house and it makes you feel like you are dining at the chefs table! First up in the dining room is fluffy cornbread bites! Next is Rosy Sea bass flown in overnight from Japan! This was definitely one of my favorite bites! Then on to Foraged mushroom “Cappuccino “ with black truffle! My favorite bite has to go to the Guinea fowl, turnip, & radicchio dish! We upgraded and got the freshly grated truffles and it was to die for! The truffle balances the Guinea so well! As you move to dessert we were brought Saint-André Cheese Soufflé! I’m a sucker for any kind of cheese dessert course and I must say this was amazing! We finished the night with Vanilla bean pana cotta, praline, and smoked maple! Saint Germain is an amazing dining experience that I highly recommend!! The staff is very interactive and even @treysmithnola head Chef will likely make an appearance serving up a course or two to your table!
Be the first to ReplyAnother Excellent Reason to Visit the Bywater
The Bywater is one of my favorite places in the County. So, when I saw there was a new James Beard nominee there, I knew I'd be trying it on my next trip to Nola. On a Main Street through the Bywater: it's in an unassuming house that one could easily miss. They start you by intention at the bar and then move you to the dining room. The canapé was a drink: Campari, green tea infused rum and of course St. Germaine. No grapefruit but tasted like drinking one. I had the house martini named L'apercu. I am not sure what made it taste so unique, but it was smooth and delicious. So, with this opening sketch it became apparent that the bartender is a master. I later had a St. Germaine Spritz which was equally excellent. The multi-course menu included some scrumptious tarts, and a griddle cake with butter that was fermented for over 100 days, as it's mixed with Camembert cheese. And I dare say, I have never seen a chef enjoy so much puncturing a cheese souffle and pouring hot cream into it. But my favorite dish was the Caviar, Potato and Milk Bread: it was just a delightful mix of flavors. Overall, the experience reminded me of Bastion which I also gave the rare 5 stars.

This was a superb tasting menu with an excellent wine pairing. The food was inventive, tasty, and fun. When you’ve done the standard New Orleans fare, try this restaurant. Pone of the best tasting menus I’ve ever had. Don’t be put off by the unassuming exterior, by the way.
Be the first to ReplyRidiculously amazing.
This is if not the best, then one of the best meals I’ve ever had. I kinda don’t want to write this review for fear of not being able to describe it adequately (and for fear of bringing it too high on the radar). So maybe I’ll just stop here and try to remember each exquisite dish in my mind.
Be the first to ReplyA unique experience
This is an experience. Plan at least three hours. They start you outside where you can order a cocktail. Then you’re escorted to the bar where they begin bringing you your first courses. After those courses you’re moved to your table. A couple of folks in our party found the presentation and descriptions pretentious. They were definitely “ hipster-y” but I appreciated the effort. The food was almost all really good. We got the wine pairing and they’re generous with the alcohol ( it is New Orleans ). The standout dish was the cheese soufflé. It was 10/10. I like the pre pay model and I feel it was a fair price for the food and service.

We’ve never done something like this, with an unknown menu. Everything was sooo good. We savored every course. I left totally content and happy. I kept imaging that this would be the perfect place for an engagement or any other important private celebration.
Be the first to ReplyIncredible Dining Experience
Not since our dinner at Thomas Keller's French Laundry have we experienced a tasting menu that far exceeded our expectations. The 5 course menu is kept a mystery before presentation. Each course is beautifully served on a plate or in a bowl that compliments the food. In looking at the menu, I guess the courses could be broken down into amuse bouche, bread, salad, soup, aperitif, fish, meat, and dessert. That is more than 5 courses as the kitchen kept sending out extras. I will not describe all of the courses here, but rest assured you will experience flavors that you have not had before and will not be able to replicate again unless the chefs put out a cookbook. My favorites were the preserved aged butter that came with St. Germain salt, the tempura shiso leaf with crab meat, and the wagu beef, both ground and sliced. My husband's favorite was the pollock with scallop butter, mustard greens and lovage. The dessert ending was Saint-Andre Cheese Souffle. Savory but sweet. The dish was lined with caramelized sugar. Before the souffle sank, the chefs came to the dining room, pierced the souffle and added more cheese sauce. So good. The dining room is rustic. 12 people are seated per seating. 3 to 4 servers work the room. Explanations were given with each course and you are well taken care of. This kind of menu is not for everyone. We were quite satisfied with the quantity and quality of food. It was the most expensive meal we had in New Orleans but worth every penny. My brother asked what if we spent all that money and didn't like the food. My reply was that you just had to trust the chefs and you can trust the chefs here. We will definitely look forward to our next trip to New Orleans so we can return to St Germain.
Be the first to ReplyVery disappointed
A foodie and chef myself, I was extremely excited about this experience. When I asked for a break between each course, I was told this wasn’t really possible as the courses just came out! In the UK, a tasting experience isn’t rushed, it is savoured and served with passion. The entire meal including complimentary courses were served within 70 minutes. I found the staff to be pretentious and not really interested even thou they rambled off each ingredient, no real passion. This was surprising given the history of how this restaurant was set up. The food was okay, not a culinary delight. The original sign for a previous restaurant is still hanging outside. The menu was whipped away from me before I had chance to read about each course. Not a great experience.

Surprised to find a Restaurant operating at this level of cuisine in the casual environment they have created. Its almost a mismatch, Excellently crafted food with wonderfully curated wine, its a "must go" if you are a foodie.
Be the first to ReplyPhenomenal tasting menu experience.
Wow. Simply incredible. My bearded Frenchman and I dined here tonight. It was a lovely experience. The restaurant offers a delicious tasting menu for a very reasonable price. They only seat 12. Tonight they offered their vegetarian menu which was phenomenal. I don’t think I’ve ever had such tasty broccolini, white asparagus and vegetarian chili before. The dessert was mind blowing. A complex mix of intense flavors. The staff are so incredibly attentive and very knowledgeable about the food and wine we had. It was overall a terrific experience and I strongly recommend dining here.

They change their menu very frequently, or so I am told, so my experience may differ from yours. With that said, this once the best meal I have had in a long time. Everything was perfect, except maybe the gooseberries... not sure they really fit into one of the dishes. Service was attentive and very professional, though the woman I was with did mention later that she felt like the server was only talking to me (the male). The dining room is very intimate, with about 18 seats which was very nice. I would go back if I make my way to New Orleans again.
Be the first to ReplyDoesn’t live up to the hype
Doesn’t live up to the hype… the 1yr aged butter was quite good… everything else was average. Price per value is quite low. There are many other options that are much better.
