Safta Restaurant Denver Reviews from The Last Year
YUM! We came here for Saturday brunch while visiting Denver.
The restaurant itself is bright and open. It was definitely more casual for brunch, and kid-friendly as well. Our server was great and checked in with us regularly. This Israeli buffet is well worth the $50 per person. They offer a wide variety of sweet and savory dishes, including pastries, fruit, dessert, vegetables, dips, fresh bread, meat, and fish. The buffet has something for everyone, with lots of vegetarian options. Some highlights for me were the freshly baked pita bread and dips, the shakshuka, the roasted vegetables, and the desserts. The carved lamb and prime rib were tender, though very fatty, so that wasn't my favorite. It would be fun if they also offered a bottomless mimosa bar option!
Absolutely wonderful restaurant with a cool setup and vibe.
Our waitress was outstanding, gave a great rundown of the menu and some of her selected favorites as highlights, which we thankfully listened to and enjoyed thoroughly. She was also very attentive and provided really top notch level of service throughout the meal. Highlights were the Branzino, and pretty much every small plate we tried, too hard too pick one above the rest. Would definitely recommend and we will def. be back next time we're in town!
Like, what just happened?? This was not an easy reservation
Like, what just happened?? This was not an easy reservation to get, but boy am I glad we found a way to make it happen. Came for brunch with a party of 8 and we still can't stop thinking about what a lovely, flavorful, delicious, incredible meal we had. Beautiful Jewish flavors from all over the world, namely North Africa, Iraq, Iran, American Jewish, and Israel. The brunch is delicate, but plentiful. We had kids as young as 8 years old and they also found the meal to be amazing! Lovely service - we felt really cared for and special.
Omg I have been to Safta so many times over the last few
Omg I have been to Safta so many times over the last few years (on so many dates, for that matter) and posted a ton of photos of their rarely changing menu. Still 6 out of 5 stars and one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. They are now Michelin-recognized, although no star yet. every detail about Safta is beautifully curated, from their food to their customer experience. I've loved every dish I've tried here, and it sounds simple, but the Tahini Hummus is still my favorite. The best way to dine here is with a group, ordering a few items from each section of the menu. They're great at accommodating dietary restrictions as well. I can't even highlight more items because everything is good. It might seem obvious, but make reservations in advance. Primetime dinner slots fill up. Parking in RiNo can be challenging, but there's a paid garage attached to The Source Hotel, which Safta is located in. I feel pretty spoiled living so close to this restaurant. If you ever have a chance to check it out, whether you're local or visiting, you won't regret it. I still need to try their brunch!!
Loved the vibe, service and food.
Everything was delicious. Ordered the tahini hummus and mahummara to start and then the New York strip and roasted broccoli as the main course. Recommend going with a group of ppl to try more items!
Been coming here ever since I moved to Denver ! This place
Been coming here ever since I moved to Denver ! This place is such a treat! Food is always amazing, service was great, our waiter Jen was extremely attentive. Everything was delicious and we had plenty to share among a group of 6 girls. I always recommend Safta !
Good solid food Dining room is clean and roomy.
Staff are lovely...very friendly, warm, and attentive. We were a leave group and felt very well attended to even with one very picky eater at the table. The food was all really well done. No fussy over-thinking or tweezer constructed garnishes. Excellently built flavour profiles and clean execution.
WOWOWOW Safta is AMAZING.
Everything I ate was 12/10. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful as I had many questions about the menu. I was unsure which wine to get & was persuaded to try an orange wine that did not disappoint. I suggest going with a small group and getting 1-2 items in each of the different menu sections. Will definitely be going back and taking people when they are in town to visit.
I returned to Safta in late Spring of this year.
I didn't have a reservation so I took a gamble on being seated quickly rather than waiting a long time. Fortunately, they had plenty of seating at the bar. I sat on an end of the bar next to the server area and it was ideal! This was a Sunday evening as well. The bartender who served me was friendly and offered good service. She was personable as well. I ordered the muhammara (hazelnuts, cilantro, and chili oil) with pita, Persian Rice, and the Pomegranate Braised Lamb Shank. The Lamb Shank is DELICIOUS! I love lamb and this entree nailed it! I would definitely order that again. Persian Rice was OK. It didn't meet my expectations. It appeared better on the menu. I liked the flavor explosions on my palate but I felt it was dry and didn't go down smoothly. Glad I tried that but wouldn't order it again. For that hummus (muhammara), it was outstanding. I only wish I had a larger serving of it. Their hummus is phenomenal and pita is great! My bartender brought me an extra pita with more olive oil and spices. I also ordered the Kunafa for dessert. I've had this many times at various places. They truly nailed this one as well! It was SOOO DELICIOUS! I enjoyed every bite and would order this again. Overall, my bill was pricey BUT worth it. Plan to spend money here. This place is far from my home (which can be a good thing for my wallet and waistline) BUT I will go out of my way to eat here. I highly recommend Safta. It's one of my favorite restaurants in Denver. I'm very much looking forward to my next visit! Looking forward to trying other things on their menu.
Delicious Israeli food
This restaurant a little bit out of the main centre in a hotel. We had an incident enroute to the restaurant which made us late for our reservation and they were very understanding. Food was delicious and we shared various dips and small plates. Good selection of cocktails and wine and especially liked their Lebanese wine. Service was excellent. Definitely recommend a visit here.
Wow. Incredible brunch buffet! We had a reservation for
Wow. Incredible brunch buffet! We had a reservation for just past noon, Sunday for brunch and left the restaurant raving about it. The brunch buffet was one of my favorite meals while visiting Denver! From what I could tell by looking at the dinner menu, the brunch spread was basically sample size portions of their dinner menu so totally worth coming for brunch to try it all. In addition, they had a few egg dishes and delightful shakshouka. Fresh breads, pastries and pita along with the selection of cheese and hummus and what more could you ask for? It's too bad we were only in town for the weekend or we would've come back. Clean, fresh eats and delicious!
Ten Happy Stars
We had the carrots, loved them. Falafel very fresh, as was the dip. In the picture is the cabbage. I never thought cabbage could have been that perfect and tasty, it was. It was perfectly seasoned. Then the duck with rice and lentils. The duck was perfectly seasoned and cooked. The skin was crispy, and meat moist. But the rice and lentils had the perfect spices on them. Our meal was so good, and Natalie made it special. Thank you Natalie and the other staff. A great night out.
Fun atmosphere for delicious small-plate sharing!
Fun atmosphere! We got all plates to share among six people and everything was delicious! There were good vegetarian options as well as meat. Although the pitas were spectacularly good, be careful not to get too filled up with them because there's a lot more food on the way!
Magical
My daughter and her fiancé chose Safta as their wedding dinner venue and it was just incredible. People don’t often rave about wedding food and at this one, everyone wanted the left overs. Truly a magical meal between true love and the food - it was perfect.
I was very happy with my dinner here - the food was unique
I was very happy with my dinner here - the food was unique and flavorful, service was attentive and the atmosphere was fun & comfortable. The menu is meant to be served family style so plan on ordering a couple dishes for the table to share! My favorite items on the menu were the dips. I tried the muhammara and the whipped feta. The muhammara is an absolute must to order! The flavor is so unique it's like having a healthy version of a Ferrero Rocher chocolate dip. The whipped feta was delicious as well. We ended up ordering a half of each dip which was a nice appetizer for two people. The naan bread for dipping was pillowy perfection. We also tried the soft cooked egg hummus which was great hummus I just preferred the dips. We finished the meal with crispy eggplant and lamb kebabs. Both were excellent and flavorful. This is a great place for a date night and/or a nice dinner out with friends.
I absolutely love Israeli Mediterranean food, and Safta did
I absolutely love Israeli Mediterranean food, and Safta did not disappoint. We got the roasted mushrooms, hummus, baba ghanoush, and crispy eggplant. All of them were standouts. The roasted mushrooms were very earthy, and the hummus was smooth as butter.
ambiance is cute and service was great but the food was
ambiance is cute and service was great but the food was extremely mediocre. we got whipped feta, duck matzah ball soup, lamb shank and salmon crudo. we walked away feeling like we've had better versions of all of the above. the soup was definitely the best thing we got. whipped feta was hard (this typically comes smooth), lamb was cold and over cooked with mediocre flavor. def not the worst meal i've ever had but not at all worth all of the hype. sonny's was MUCH better.
There aren't enough stars for our entire experience here.
From the moment we walked in it was delightful, however our server (Steven sp?) was outstanding! His attention to detail, description of each item on the menu, attentiveness without being overly attentive was spot on perfection! Now about the food --- Straight fire! We tried 2 types of hummus, the harissa chicken, carrots, falafel (had no idea it was supposed to taste like this), Baklava & the least option on the dessert menu, all of them were somewhere between fabulous and mind blowing . The restaurant is laid out so nicely, we sat around the corner, near the back & felt like we were the only ones there. You can see the kitchen and it's so clean and efficient. If I can go back (I don't live in Colorado) and IF I could only pick 3 things they would be (in this order) 1.Steven 2. Soft Egg Humus 3. Pita bread (it's so melt in your mouth good)
Drinks and foods all good.
Plus, great service. One of bartenders was cold/not kind but could be one of days being tired.
We did the Sunday brunch.
Large selection and all fresh and delicious. Our server made sure we had full water glasses/coffee and offered for drinks (which we declined due to the amount of food). Located in The Source hotel, warm ambience despite the hotel being more industrial with it's decor.
Great Mediterranean! Nice staff, cute spot and delicious
Great Mediterranean! Nice staff, cute spot and delicious food. The brunch is a buffet and has a lot of their menu available on it!

Every thing is served family style which is one of my personal favorites. I like to try multiple dishes and this is the best way to try a wide range of options. We had the lamb which is a must try! Then my favorite for the night was the eggplant dish. Crispy and blasting full of flavors. We sat at the bar and our server was great. She kept food and drinks coming! Although I didn't sit at the table it looked super cute and completely full. Definitely need a reservation!
I really enjoyed Safta.
The appetizers, small plates and hummus were amazing. I usually go with a few recommendations from the waiter as a first timer to a restaurant and the Harissa chicken was recommended. I figured you can't go wrong with chicken and everything else was soooooo good so far, so why not. If I based my review off of the chicken, it would be 3 stars easy. However the hummus was so good, I couldn't do that. I also enjoyed the Lamb Kebobs. Idk what I was expecting from the ambience, it was a little tight back to back with the seating but comfortable enough and modern and the service was great. I'll be back but I won't get the chicken. I may just stick to the hummus and small plates and sip on some wine. You can't go wrong doing that.
Wonderful hip Mediterranean restaurant.
Cool location. We were there in winter but in summer the who space is opened up. We loved the appetizers and also terrific entrees--meat and vegetarian. Loved the signature drinks.
Amazing!
We ordered several small plates to share among 5 people. Whipped feta, hummus, pickles, carrots were our small plates and we also enjoyed lamb kabobs and hangar steak! For dessert we had halvah and the baklava! Our meal was amazing. We shared all our plates and enjoyed a relaxing meal. Will return again!
Ahh…mazing!!!
So good!! Everything we had was so good! The drinks, the hummus, the fattoush, the whipped feta, the falafel, the cheese borekas!! We truly enjoyed every dish and every flavor. A great experience. Would love to come when it was a warm day so the garage doors could be open but still liked the ambiance. Hopefully I will be back!
Outstanding Brunch- MUST go
This review is about their weekend brunch. I see people have left reviews for dinner and brunch. Dinner is sit down service order from menu, brunch is set price buffet style. I cant speak to the dinner offerings but, the brunch is CRAZY AWESOME! I will try and describe the experience, but I don’t think i can give it true justice . Check out all my pictures (lots) to see the greatness for yourself. This is NOT your typical restaurant cheap blah buffet, this is high end selection, quality and flavor. The chefs are right there facing you preparing all the dishes you are eating. They take pride on what they are preparing and it shows. This Israeli/Mediterranean cuisine offerings mixed with traditional brunch dishes is down very well. Our group tried nearly everything they offered- i think i went up five times LOL- and by the end we were happily stuffed and all were saying “wow!” Definitely give Safta a brunch visit you will not be disappointed .
Great food nice place
Great experience great food I truly recomendéis it to all my friends the pita bread is excellent also the hummus and the experience is great
Hunting dinner
Our first Israeli focused restaurant. A sharing menu of delicious dishes full of flavour. A vibrant and busy venue definitely a Denver highlight.
In one word - disappointment!!!
Average at best. I dined at many Israeli restaurant, and was looking forward to din ing at Santa on my trip to Denver. I had high expectations given the vibe the place has. What a disappointment!!!!! The food was just OK, nothing impressive. The most disappointing thing was the size of the dishes. The "Salatim" (appetizers) were the size of food samples. We were a parry of 8, and our waiter recommended to order about 15 appetizers. We ordered 18. When they were served , I was shocked. Tiny little plates with food samples!!! The variety was minimal, and the taste - OK. nothing to die for. The entrees were average as well. We didn't bother to stay for the desert. In one word - disappointment!!!

Pretty crazy, but cracking down will cost them a lot to maintain. They probably will lose the fight.

In my experience they will typically restore your reservation if you say it was an error.
