Sasto Foccacia Sandwich ($18) - sopressata, mortadella, coppa, house made ricotta, fermented chilis, lettuce, tomato, onion, oregano vinaigrette Beef Lamb Pita ($19) - tahini, zhoug, omba I stumbled across this place when I was looking for a restroom to use at Nam Coffee & was surprised by how cute the interior was, so I'm happy I got to try this place out! Parking was a little difficult especially since I went on a day that there was street sweeping. The service was extremely fast & they bring out your food to your table. The Sasto is their signature sando!! Although I found it to be slightly oversaturated in the vinaigrette, the flavors made up for it!! There was just enough veggies to make up for how heavy the rest of the sando was, but I wish they wrapped it in parchment paper to make it easier to eat :/ I'd def go back again to try the restaurant next door!

The lamb and beef brisket wrap is magical - came here for lunch to get something better than the hospital cafeteria nearby. This sandwich has made my day.
Be the first to ReplyI love love love Saffy's all the time.
Parking a serious drag (esp on street cleaning oy!) but oh well. I am overjoyed with this Wed-Sun brunch they got going on at Saffy's coffee. Lots of outdoor seating on the chill AF patio. NICE. I saw someone post on the internutttz about the new beef lamb pita sandwich and it did not disappoint. Amazing flavor in that perfect pita bread tons of delicious sauces and savory meats filling. We tried the new chicken too but I prefer the beef. Also had a great salad, some pricey bevs and a superb cinnamon muffin thing. They can do no wrong for me with their food offerings!

Used to live around the corner, now I make the 30 min drive to come back because no other café measures up imo. The food is superb for a cafe, they have an outdoor patio, they play good music, and the people that work there are so friendly, I miss seeing their faces every day! The drinks are comparable to other places, plus there are some specialty ones like the arnold palmer that I enjoy.
Be the first to ReplyI love Saffys for breakfast.
I am never disappointed when I'm here. I love that they're added new menu items such as the French Toast and Foccacia. I have yet to try some other new items but coming here for a solid Arabic breakfast is what keeps me coming back. I love their earl grey latte too! This is one of those fast casual places but it's worth skipping a mimosa brunch. You order first, then get a number and choose a table. Staff is friendly. You sit on the outside of Saffys resto. It's nice to enjoy when the weather is nice. I've come here so many times, and I usually like to try new places all over LA, but this is a go to weekend breakfast spot that I'm happy to be a somewhat regular at!

The food here wasn't as mind blowing as the dinner food next door, but overall, still a good experience. Ambiance is casual. You order at the counter and sit wherever you want on Saffy's patio. Service was excellent, when a waiter overheard us saying we needed a knife and that there were none in the coffee shop, he promptly came over to hand us one. The chai latte was possibly the best chai latte I've ever had, but the coffee was too acidic in my opinion. We shared an Arabic breakfast, toffee/coconut cookie (excellent!), and potato curry boreka. They do run out of menu items, and options are limited, so if you come later, know that it might be slim pickings. Also, know that they stop serving the Arabic breakfast at 1 if that's what you are looking to order. In my opinion, the Arabic breakfast was pretty good, and came at a fair price point, but the olives on the side had a bit of a funky taste to them.
Be the first to ReplyLet me tell you something about Arabic Breakfast.
This is my hands down favorite breakfast in all of Los Angeles. Ooof that's a bold statement but if you have similar taste buds like mine (which I will detail below) then you have to try Saffy's Arabic Breakfast. I love how simple this place is. Amazing quality of food full of fantastic culinary flavors without the frills of something more fancy? It's nested right next to Saffy's but they utilize their outdoor dining area for patrons. The tables are super cute and makes a perfect vessel to carry all of the delicious morsels. This place is more catered to lighter bites so perfect if you want to have a pastry and coffee to chat with a friend. But. But. You can NOT leave here without sharing their Arabic Breakfast. And their French toast is ridiculous. The breakfast is a spread with shakshuka as the main and ornamented with a punchy salad, olives, and damn good sesame challah with clotted cream/honey. I inhaled the clotted cream on the challah. And yes I scraped it clean hahaha. It's a great spread for 2 and will leave you feeling light and satisfied. It's also great if you're vegetarian (who eats eggs). The shakshuka is more on the curry side but it is cooked very well. Their pastries change out pretty often and if you do see something just get it. I keep on wanting more and can't wait for the next sunny morning for brunch at Saffy's.

Saffy's Coffee & Tea is a cute lil hip corner coffee and pastry shop in East Hollywood. Its next door neighbor is Saffy's restaurant/bar which owned the coffee shop. It's indoor and outdoor seats were very spacious and relaxing. I arrived on a sunny warm Wednesday to grab a drink and checkout this coffee shop. I perused their menu albeit not an extensive list. They have all the basic coffee and tea drink as well as some pastries. Given it's my first time at Saffy's C&T, I decided to get a hot Latte ($7) and a Swedish Cardamom ($6) roll. Both were very satisfying. Latte was good and the SC roll was something out of this world. It's soft, warm and vanilla flavored. Staff were warm, assiduous and professional. Service was outstanding. Prices were highly expensive (excluding the additional 4.0 % health fee). Atmosphere and vibe imbued by positive energy. Collectively, these variables make an good coffee shop. Overall, I had a pleasant order experience and enjoyed my hot drink and pastry. I shall return. And I recommend you try this new coffee shop. Ciao!
Be the first to ReplyVery close to my location!!! I love this place.
The ambiance was cozy and inviting, making it a perfect spot to relax. The staff was friendly and sweet, providing excellent service. It's definitely become one of my favorite go-to spots for enjoying my morning and a Highly recommend their arabic breakfast!!! This has been added to my fav breakfast list the minute i got to try their eggs!!! Love it!!!
Be the first to ReplyThe coffee is good but the pastries cannot be beat.
They rotate seasonally, so I make sure to get my favorite every single time it's in the case: the boysenberry cheese danish. Baristas are the best-- super down to talk about coffee, the offerings on the menu, or literally anything. Plenty of shaded, outdoor seating gives it a casual, European cafe energy. This is a place where I love to bring people on networking coffees because they will, without fail, say "this place is great! I can't believe I haven't heard about it." Might be hard to get a reservation at the actual buzzy restaurant, but grab a coffee and a pastry at this spot and you'll still feel like part of the "it" crowd.

Have been going to this spot for a while now and love it! The area is coming up and Saffy's is killing it. Love seeing Karla & Lydia in the morning (they always remember what we want) and suggest new pastries when they rotate. (Pastries are DELISH, some of the best I've had in LA). Try the earl grey tea latte if ya want something sweet & different! Super yummy. There's also a nice dog friendly patio!
Be the first to ReplyWas excited to try Saffy's Coffee and Tea this morning.
..and was not disappointed. Coffee drinks were good (not burnt), and Borekas (not pictured) were very tasty. Yogurt - which could be monotonous by itself - was elevated by the amazing honey and pine nuts. I really liked the challah french toast - in fact I think it is exceptional - but was put off by the price and the portion. It was $15 for one measly slice (when an entire delicious challah bread to go is literally the same price.). Either keep it $15 for two slices or reduce price for one IMHO. Looking forward to them adding new items to the menu. The aforementioned challah bread is amazing btw. Ruined me for all other challah breads!

This is the coffee shop next door to Saffy's, a Michelin recognized Middle Eastern restaurant, brought to you by the folks behind Bestia and Bavel. The space is small, but has a good amount of indoor/outdoor seating. Decor is minimal; it has a super clean, modern vibe. My husband and I stopped in for coffee and a pastry. Unfortunately, the bakery case was completely empty at 1pm on a Sunday. They normally have house made breads and various cakes/cookies/pastries, so definitely get here earlier if you want to try them. My Oat Milk Latte was good, albeit on the watery side. My husband got a tea, which he enjoyed. Definitely worth a stop if you are in the area (or waiting in line for Found Oyster across the street, like we were).

It's such a cute little coffe shop adjacent to the wonderful Saffys restaurant. Parking can be alittle hard but on the weekdays should be easy finding one on the streets. I wish they had a bigger food menu during the weekdays. They only serve their real menu breakfast items on the weekend. They do have a few bakery good that can be purchased, we tried the biscuit breakfast sandwhich was alittle too crumbly for my taste and I ordered challah bread to go. We were able to purchase a half a loaf which is a lot already. It was my first time trying challah bread and it's really soft and alittle sweet. It was so good.
Be the first to ReplySaffy's is the new cool kid on the block.
So I decided to check out the coffee shop and let's just say I was speechless when I saw how they handled bakery items and customer's concerns! It was a Saturday morning and was little busy and I'm soooo glad that I had the opportunity to observe while waited in line. I don't believe in having your hair down in any service industry, especially in food service. The girl had her hair down and it passed her shoulders. In my opinion, if the hair is long enough to be in a ponytail then it should be up. But that's not the offensive part. She wiped countertops with a damp dishrag and afterwards grabbed cookies with her bare hands to plate. Yes...you read it right. She didn't wash her hands, didn't use food grade gloves, didn't use parchment papers or tongs. Nope, she grabbed these bakery items with bare hands to plate after touching multiple surfaces and items and it happened with several different times. Like I said it was a busy Saturday morning but it's not an excuse to disregard safe food handling. And when I brought it up to the attention of the cashier, she gave me an attitude and said "Miss, we wash our hands." Uuummmmm....oh ok....just because she washed her hands at the beginning of shift that doesn't mean it stays clean! Not coming back and def wouldn't recommend.

On yelp, Saffy has two different locations -- one for coffee and tea and one for dinner. They share the same patio (and probably kitchen). The coffee and tea location sells incredible pastries and on weekends they have brunch.Drinks - the earl grey latte is made with this incredible syrup. Highly recommend the earl grey latte if you're looking to treat yourself. We also got some dirty chai lattes and it was good balance of spice, sweet and milk. Would definitely order both of these drinks again.Food - We split two orders of the Arabic breakfasts with a few add on including biscuit w/jam & butter and a cardamom twist. The pastries were delightful - they were eaten so fast that I didn't have a chance to take a photo. Everything in the breakfast was enjoyable: eggs and potatoes in the Shakshuka were perfectly cooked, the salad paired well with the whole meal, and last but not least...there was an avocado honey and clotted cream spread that we lathered all over the bread (with sesame crust). Overall I would definitely return for coffee and / or food. We're very curious what Saffy's dinner tastes like now...to be continued...
Be the first to ReplyTLDR = park and walk over, super hard to find parking.
Great tea and coffee, pricey but worth. Exterior = 4/5Located along a street, you can't miss it if you drive by. It's attached to the larger restaurant, which opens up later in the day after the coffee shop closes. There is seating outside which is nice for sipping your drink while enjoying some air. Parking is difficult, even locating some in the neighborhoods near by can be challenging. I normally walk over to avoid any parking issues.Interior = 4/5High ceiling and warm atmosphere greet you as you walk in. There are some counter seating but only for like individuals, wouldn't recommend seating inside if you are a bigger party. There is just enough room to walk in, order and stand to the side. They have breads decorating the side wall next to the cashier which you are able to buy if they haven't already run out. Also pastries and snacks are available to purchase and enjoy with your coffee/tea.Service = 5/5I am a regular now and my order is basically memorized which I appreciate. Everyone that has helped me is super friendly and approachable. Order = 5/5I usually get one of two things because I feel they hit my moods perfectly. If I want coffee I get the iced vanilla latte, but if I'm in the mood for tea I get the iced earl grey latte (which has been like 99% of the time). The vanilla latte is good and hits the spot, but let me talk about the early grey. They mix a combo of vanilla, winter melon sugar, and oat milk with the early grey tea. It's pre made so they just pour it into your cup. So satisfying. I have been trying to find some winter melon sugar to mimic this at home (Saffys makes it in house) and to no avail. Which I don't mind so I get to come back here and drink more though it can add up in price (still worth).Overall = 4/5Nice spot for a caffeine pick me up any time of the day. Better to walk than try to find parking. Definitely get the early grey if you want to get hooked.Hint = walk.
Be the first to ReplyCute lil coffee shop connected to its restaurant.
Cold brew was solid, and pastries are made fresh in-house. They also offer pita from Bavel for sale. IYKYK! This potato curry pastry wasn't on their menu but oh my god, I'm so glad I got it. It had a nice, smooth, thin layer of potato curry that gives this layered flaky goodness a complexity of textures.

I ordered their buttermilk biscuit with butter and jam and wow! The biscuit was so flakey and delicious. The jam was the perfect sweet but tart to go with the savory biscuit. I also got a hot chocolate and it was also delicious. The server was super friendly. It is a cute little coffee shop with indoor and our door seating. I overheard the server say they serve breakfast and I'm sure it would be delicious!

Try their decaf latte and yogurt dish so so good! Service is fast and friendly, and the ambiance is bright and airy :)
