Rubirosa New York Reviews from The Last Year
The pizza is good, but I don't really understand the hype
The pizza is good, but I don't really understand the hype and the multi hour wait on the weekend. I went early on a Monday evening and was seated immediately at the bar. I had a 14" pie half tie dye and half bianca. The flavors on both were good. The tie dye had a bright tomato sauce and some herby nuttiness from the pesto. The bianca was rich and had nice garlic flavor. Both had just the right amount of cheese as well. The crust was maybe the weakest part in my opinion. It's super thin and crunchy like a cracker at the edge, which isn't bad by itself. But it's not crispy all the way through - the rest of the crust was kind of soft to where the slices droop. Because the edge is hard, you can't fold the slices over without cutting into it first. So eating this pizza became a bit of a greasy two-handed task. It's pretty loud indoors, to the point where I had trouble hearing the staff and had to speak quite loudly to order. I wore earplugs throughout my meal. You can sit outside if this bothers you, but that also means waiting over an hour for a table. I could only eat half of the pizza in one sitting, so the $35 price is pretty good for two meals worth of food. It's less worth it if you're hungrier than that.
If you like thin crust pizza definitely check out
If you like thin crust pizza definitely check out rubirosa!! Great sauce, good cheese and super thin crust. The meats are a lil salty but overall I really enjoyed the pizza here!
Simply awesome.
Table for 7 40 minutes before closing and they were able to accommodate my family and I. Seated inside by the kitchen with a nice private and speakeasy feel to it. My kids loved it and I think we ordered just about everything on the menu. Tie-dye pizza, honey pizza, chicken parm, calamari, spaghetti etc. Wish I took pictures but honestly we were just enjoying the moment. Perfect nightcap to a perfect evening in NYC. As a stakeholder in Carmines NYC it's hard to glow about the competition, but I have to give credit where credit is due. We ate here and loved it should tell you something about the quality of food we received at Rubirosa.
Love the thin pizza with amazing sauce.
My fav is the trio color with half pepperoni. The pasta is also amazing. Casual vibe and trendy neighborhood.
Would love to be able to give a review of this place.
.. but ..... I started back in May making a reservation for one, yes ONE. All the way from Texas, excited to try this highly recommended establishment. I called to confirm my reservation when I arrived in NYC. Confirmed, my reservation for one on Saturday at 615 PM. I hop in my Uber, ready to have "the best" Italian food with the BIGGEST Gluten Free menu around "you won't be disappointed" I was told. I arrive 40-min before my reservation and am told they won't seat me... get this "they have bigger parties to seat" they can't seat a party of ONE. They don't take anymore 'walk ins'. I explain a) I'm not a walk-in and b) there are 5-open seats at the bar and I will eat there, alone, eat and leave. Nope, we can't accommodate your reservation. No apology, nothing, just a NOPE. RUDE!!! Too bad I didn't get to taste their food. If I could rank them a 1/2 of a star, I would. COMPLETE AND UTTER DISAPPOINTMENT!!
One of the top Italian places in town and yet I was lucky
One of the top Italian places in town and yet I was lucky enough to get a table for 2 in the last minute. Entering the restaurant I realized why that was possible. The restaurant kept going inwards and was super lengthy and they were able squeeze in table along the way. We got a table right next to the kitchen but still the ambiance was lovely. We were surrounded by their branded marinara sauces and other pasta sauce and famous personalities who had visited the restaurant. My order: Roman Cacio e Pepe The TIE DYE™ Pizza Rubirosa Supreme If you're vegetarian, this place does specialize in veggie dishes. I just loved the caio e pepe. Very succulent and juicy pecorino. They also do a half-and-half of pizzas. We built one side with tie dye and the other with the supreme. Definitely the pizzas were heavenly. Didn't make the bust or the crust thick and the ones where you would not want to even waste their crusts. We also get a welcome basked of bread with olive oil.
They should spell out no walkins.
It's BS. We walked all the way here from 20 blocks because of the great ratings on Yelp and the lady said "we do not accept any walk ins."
Absolutely delicious
Delicious! Took my 3 kids here & everyone loved it. Waitress in overalls was super friendly and accommodating. Friendly staff. Best arugula salad. Excellent meatballs and spaghetti. Caprese salad was on point with the pesto. Chicken Milanese was breaded and cooked to perfection. We will be back.
been here twice and both times we had to wait around 2
been here twice and both times we had to wait around 2 hours for a table. the pizzas are decent, but not worth a wait longer than 15 minutes. try to go on a weekday before prime dining hours. it's incredibly tight inside with 1 tiny bathroom. not a super comfortable place to dine, and i'm not really sure what the type is about.

This is probably my 6th time at Rubirosa, and every time it never disappoints. One of my favorite places in the city! You can't go wrong with the carbonara and tie-dye pizza. We also buy their Rubirosa branded olive oil and pasta sauces every time we visit. Service is always amazing. Inside is cozy and intimate. We would recommend snagging reservations, or your wait time will be a big long - but it's worth it! We usually shop at nearby places while we wait.
Been here 2-3 times now, always delicious! The cacio e pepe
Been here 2-3 times now, always delicious! The cacio e pepe is out of this world. Top 5 pastas I've had in my life. We ordered the arugula salad just break from carbs but it ended up being so yummy too. The pizza is a little too saucy for me at times but still enjoyable and flavorful. Service is amazing love all the people here!!
Was good not great, noisy when full
We have liked to eat here and our server was nice and friendly. The thin crust pizza was good but I prefer thicker pizza. The spaghetti and meatballs were good too. A bit noisy at night as it’s rather small and packed. Only 1 toilet for the restaurant. Overall a good experience but will not come back.
Best Pizza in NY
The best Pizza in NY... It is a MUST. Make a reservation beforehand because it is a small place. The waiting list was not bad 10 mins.
Rubirubirubi!
If great pizza was a measure of a great restaurant, then Rubirosa would surely be up there with the best. The honey pizza was a taste sensation, and the classic Margarita got a ten from my teens. My husband (who has hollow legs) almost finished his eighteen - incher, but was beaten by the last slice. The service was impeccable, too. Thank you, Rubirosa, for such a memorable experience!
For pizzalovers!
Very tasty, crispy and mega pizzas. All fresh ingredients: fresh tomatos, fresh cheese, mozarella, rucola, basil leaves, name it. Very very tasteful! Make timely reservation or be prepared to wait for an hour before seated. But: its worth the waiting time!
Excellent
The best Carbonara Pasta ive ever had, and i lived in Rome for a period. The pizza is thin, crispy beyond belief and tasty AF. Highly recommend.
This website makes me sick and so do the restaurants that know about it.
It’s sad and disappointing that people make $ off of a human necessity. Why can’t rich people do something else with their time. They are pathetic and bored with life and have to succumb to bidding on restaurant reservations. I love Rubirosa and have often wondered why lunch reservations were only available. I like their food but I’d rather be a loyal customer to another restaurant that doesn’t participate to catering to the rich. 🤑
Just the best Pizzas!
we landed at JFK, dropped bags off in midtown and headed straight to RubiRosa, What a gem - proper pizza and a great vibe - the Honey Pie Pizza is outstanding! 100% highly recommend!

Thin crispy flatbread style on the pizza- very crunchy the first 5 mins but got noticeably soggier/floppy afterwards. The tie dye was alright- a bit too much vodka/tomato sauce imo, overpowered the pesto and made the pie too wet. The toppings on the supreme had the right balance- good salt from the Roni/sausage, and refreshing fragrance from the sliced garlic and abundance of basil. The eggplant parm was not it- chew on the noodles was quite odd (slightly reminiscent of undercooked ramen noodles), the eggplant itself had a cardboard taste and texture to it. Tomato sauce was pleasant and bright though. Very long wait on a Sunday night, but once we sat down, food came out relatively quicjly
I heard about the viral tie dye pizza which is pesto spiral
I heard about the viral tie dye pizza which is pesto spiral on top of red sauce pizza. The red sauce was SO GOOD. I ordered extra garlic but I'd probably skip it as they didn't add much. The broccoli rabe and sausage pizza with mushroom and arugula came out a bit bitter but I think that's should be expected given the toppings. Without the extra mushroom and arugula it would've been a bit bland. The restaurant has three sections and so it's not as small as it looks. The service is super casual and quick! There was a line and the wait was 45 minutes. Book ahead online to save time. Bon appetite!
Busy and very busy restaurant Delicious crispy light pizza
Busy and very busy restaurant Delicious crispy light pizza with generous toppings, to the delight salad. The ambiance is great even though they are very crowded *Planning to enjoy a delicious meal here make sure you put your name at the front ( no reservation) Very recommended and will be back
Rubirosa
One of my favorite pizza restaurants. Not a slice to go kind of place. It’s usually a long wait for a table but worth it. I used to go the original spot in states island but I like this one better. It’s also way more convenient. Get the vodka pie. I think it’s the best out there
Get to the Chase: Pros: 1) Fast service and pleasant
Get to the Chase: Pros: 1) Fast service and pleasant staff 2) Pizza was so tasty and love that you can get half and half of varying sizes 14" or 16". The crust was super flakey, tie-dye is the way to go with a well balanced flavors. 3) Not all pizza places do appetizers well, but their octopus was a triumph 4) 3 drinks, 1 appetizer, 1 pizza pie with 20% tip was about $90 Cons: 1) I didn't mind, but some people don't like "limp" pizzas...the crust was perfectly crusty imo but given the size and toppings it definitely drooped given the super thin base (almost Napoli style)

When traveling to New York City, Rubirosa brings a refreshing change of scenery to the tourist traps. Beware the "best pizza in New York" signs and go to this restaurant instead! THE SERVICE & INTERIOR: Our server was incredibly attentive (especially with my dairy and nut allergy) and he was efficient! He made sure that we felt welcomed, comfortable, and enjoyed our time there. Very casual setting. Get ready to feel like you're entering a Hobbit bar because the interior is super cramped but it's a lively ambiance! Only 1 restroom to use so don't drink too much water and alcohol! Save room for the pizza and pasta! THE FOOD: 6/10 Spaghetti - I like the sauce and angel hair, but there wasn't anything to really write home about it. The lack of meat options was unpleasant. 10/10 Tye-Dye Pizza and Honey Pie Pizza - My family RAVED on and on about how delicious their pizzas were! 9/10 Carbonara Pasta - My family also enjoyed the serving size of this pasta dish! The meat option in this pasta was a great addition to the flavor! + Great serving sizes to share! + The pizza isn't all hype! It tastes as good as it looks! + Great service! + Gluten-free options available! + Easy access and 5 minutes walk from the subway! + Reservations are a must for all pizza lovers! - Not ideal for large groups unless you get there super early and get seated in the back room. - Lack thereof in meat options (especially with dietary restrictions) - No dessert options *Please do note that the chefs do not allow meats (i.e., bacon bits or ham slices) as a side dish so make sure that your order is as is on the ticket! The chefs prefer the presentation of the dishes over a customer's dietary preferences (which is fine, I respect that. My dairy and nut allergy is an inconvenience to most establishments). I just felt like my spaghetti was lacking in protein, since I'm wary of most sausages and meatballs (due to my dietary restrictions). *Also, I rated 4 stars for the impeccable service and my family's raving reviews over the pizza.
Good pizza spot
Cute atmosphere. A great spot for a date or night with friends. The food is good. The desserts are really good too. Hard to get into though!
Walked in with no reservations and was able to get a bar
Walked in with no reservations and was able to get a bar seat for two right away. The vibes were so cozy and cute! The food was delicious. We loved the cacio e pepe and the pizza (we did a half supreme and half tie dye).

tie-dye pizza was delish! vodka pasta was mid - sauce could have used more flavor and cream. food is too overpriced though. you can get great pizza anywhere in ny for a lot less.

One of the greatest hidden gems in New York make sure you try the tie-dye pizza the pasta carbonara and the pasta with vodka sauce this place is truly a gem
Great food, incredible music and ambiance.
Pizza, pasta and salads all were perfecto.
Very long wait!
We had previously visited Rubirosa as a couple in April last year, and wanted to go again and bring the children (10, 13, 16). We never booked and turned up on a Tuesday at 6.15pm. We were told to expect a 90 - 120 minute wait, and so left our number and went away shopping. Unfortunately it ended up being a 3 hour wait, which wasn’t ideal. The lady on the front desk wasn’t helpful until she could see how fed up we all were through waiting this time. She was quite abrupt too before. The food and service once we got seated though were great. I think the situation could have been handled better though from a customer service point of view.
Best pizza ever and worst stuffed artichoke ever!
We came here because my teenage daughter told us to (via Tic Tok LOL). they were fully booked but I called and they said they always keep tables for walk ins so we went at 8.15pm sunday night and got straight in (though the restaurant was full). We were excited to order the famous Tye-Dye Pizza... and it was all we expected and more! Best pizza I have had at a store! It was also gigantic! We ordered 2 appetisers and the 18in pizza for 3 of us and we couldn't finish it. BUT we ordered the stuffed artichoke and it was horrible! Undercooked and inedible. The only thing I could eat was the tablespoon of stuffing inside. Sadly, no one cared enough to ask how our meal was or why the plate was mainly left uneaten. It felt like service was mechanical with no genuine caring because they know they are so busy already. Definitely visit but avoid the artichoke!
Worth the hype
I hate dining in hyped up restaurants, but Rubirosa is honestly a staple in NY. Pizza is delicious and super thin. Love the option of being able to mix the pies! The service is also very friendly and attentive. Haven’t tried their pasta dishes yet but most pizzas are tasty. Their wine selection is also top notch.
Worth The Wait
Totally worth the wait. We managed to get a reservation the week before, and we were so excited. Their tie-dye pizza was to die for, and the service was brilliant. Can't recommend enough.
Great neighborhood NYC pizza!
We were exploring during our first day of a Christmas week NYC vacation and spotted Rubirosa. It had such a great vibe and felt authentic so we got on the wait list, which was still over an hour at 3 pm. It worked out perfect for us since we needed a late lunch/early dinner before a 7 pm walking tour. The Caesar salad was perfect, and the tie dye pizza was fun, crispy and delicious. I like thin crispy pizza, not deep dish, so it was a good fit for us. The service was great, too. Highly recommend.
Cozy and delicious
This place is cozy and the pizza is great. We had pizza, rice balls, and wine and everything was great. Service was average.
Disappointing pizza
We got seated right away even though we didn’t have a reservation because we got there as it opened. We had the vodka pizza with meatballs but I I would say it lacked enough vodka sauce. It was kinda disappointing actually.
Bustling pizza/italian place - great for lunch!
Amazing food, fantastic service, super busy and crowded but in a great area. Fairly priced - I would eat here again!

That's what AT sponsorships are for - and you are only paying 25% in the first year and then less in year two and three.
I beliebe @EternalAnt36 was sponsored by @PerceptiveWash44 and is now doing $25k/mo.
You can write on the top sellers profiles (type 'Top 10' in the searchbar) and then tap request sponsorship button after you found the guy or gal like to work with!
