On our quest for the best carbonara in Rome, we stumbled upon an unforgettable gem. When in Rome, after all, one must savor what Rome offers. This meal became one of the highlights of our European adventure through Italy, Spain, and France. It's no surprise this place boasts a Michelin star--it's entirely deserved. Every detail was perfect, from the impeccable service to the extensive and exquisite wine selection. The carbonara and burrata were the true stars, but everything we tried exceeded expectations. When we return to Rome, Roscioli will be our first stop.
Fun cooking class!
The cooking class was phenomenal! It was a super fun experience - we started with tiramisu and then made a few pastas and a meatball dish. The wine pairing was superb and Matteo the sommelier did an amazing job explaining all the wines to us. The atmosphere was lively and fun. We got recipes sent to our emails at the end and I'm cooking forward to creating them at home! The pasta was some of the best I've had in Rome!
Delicious food and excellent service
Outstanding food and service! Our waitress was also a phenomenal sommelier. This is a hidden gem of the Roscioli brand as it doesn’t seem to get all the hype as some of its sister restaurants. We completed our evening with a grappa tasting.

"Don't leave Rome without going to Roscioli," a few friends advised when I asked for suggestions for my vacation. I honestly can say that was some of the best advice. You do need to make reservations well in advance and I probably sent quite a few days looking on the calendar online for an opening until one day I saw a single 9:30p opening 3 days before I was scheduled to fly out. In person it is quite the small space, and you have the option to book outside, inside their market area, or downstairs in the wine cellar which is where we were seated... its kind of charming to lean back and be seating next to shelves of vintage wines. The service here is impeccable and the friendliest I experienced while in Rome. and I received great suggestions from the staff on wines and appetizers. Now for the food.... If you can imagine some of the best freshest pasta, perfectly cooked with the most flavorful sauces... that is what the experience is like here. I ordered the La matriciana o amatriciana, it had little flavorful bites of pork cheek in a very bright flavorful sauce. My partner ordered the Cacio e Pepe, it was fresh and cheesy. We also shared an order of the meatballs, which were juicy and tender. I dream of coming back here and ordering everything else on the menu.
Good food and service but marred by greed
The food was very good and the service was friendly. However, what would have been an overall excellent meal was marred by the waiter asking for a tip (there are preset amounts suggested on the credit card machine) and standing there to see if I entered a tip into the credit machine. It is the only restaurant on our trip that did this and it is clear they get a lot of tourists and want to take advantage of them. In Italy, tipping is not normal except for rounding up or giving a few euros in a nicer restaurant. It’s unfortunate that such good cooking is ruined by greed.

Yes, you will meet every American foodie who is in Rome the same time as you in this joint BUT... The carbonara here changed my life. Perfect harmony of flavors and textures. The way they cook the guanciale is OUT OF THIS WORLD. The cocktails are delicious and I would go back again and again. The do all 4 of the major pasta dishes with excellence. Get a reservation if you don't want the long line outside at dinnertime. Opt for a later dinner if that works for you. Our server/bartender was awesome even though she was overwhelmed at times with ever single of her staff looking to her for action or direction. She was very mindful that we didn't over order and she was patient in answering our questions. Ambiance is a consistent buzz and bustle. Servers are constantly busy and may bump into you a lot if you sit by the bar. A couple of them are cute so I didn't mind. Hehe. This place is very used to American diners (you'll see when you get there) but that's not there fault. It's a testament to their consistency and reliability. Priscilla is very much a great place for Roman staple dishes and then some. Go book a seat. You won't regret it.

Of course, I didn't make a reservation two months in advance just to have dessert. After hearing our server's recommendations, we also ordered: 1. la burrata pugliese con pomodorini: burrata was so fresh and balanced well with the sweet and tangy sun-dried tomatoes 2. burro e parmigiano "francescana" 3. "la gricia" di stefano: the crispy pork cheeks were absolutely delicious but can start to feel heavy after a few pieces 4. selection of prosciutto Overall we had a great experience at this restaurant, although I felt it was tailored more towards tourists because the tables around us all spoke English. I would still recommend it to anyone looking for a fancier meal.

We had the opportunity to eat at the Roscioli in New York and on our recent trip to Rome we were able to get a reservation at the original Roscioli. A cool restaurant/market. The inside is a little close quarters with more space at the back. A few bar seats are available as well. We ordered the bread to start which was fresh and delicious. The mortadella and caprese appetizers were delicious. The cacio e Pepe was the best I've ever had. The rigatoni was delicious as well. We split the meatballs which were great. We didn't order dessert but they surprised us with some chocolate sauce to snack on. Delicious meal. Highly recommend. Excellent service.

A Fun and Interesting Dinner
We really enjoyed our dinner here. Although "instructive," especially about wines, the atmosphere was lively, the staff friendly, and the food memorable. We had several different glasses of wine without knowing the prices, but when the bill arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find it all was a good value. We hope to eat here again!
Worth the cost
This class was really fun and the instructors made it easy to follow. Wines were good and instructor did a good job explaining and showing you that you are drinking something unique.

Fantastic experience. Lilly and Franco were so outgoing and explained everything so beautifully. The food and wine pairing was out of this world. This is a must when you are in Rome

I signed up for a cooking class and wine tasting at Rimessa Roscioli and it was one of the highlights of my trip to Rome. The setting was delightful and the instructors (Lily and Marloes) were fantastic. The menu and wine pairings were excellent! The experience was hands on and super fun. I highly recommend this class to anyone visiting Rome.

Beautiful outdoor dining. We had the tasting menu which was 5 courses each paired with wines plus a dessert course. The sommelier was excellent, very knowledgeable. Friendly staff, excellent food!

Beautiful interior with very helpful staff. We got to cook 3 types of pasta, meat balls and Tiramisu. I would definitely recommend to visit.

Really really good way to spend an afternoon in Rome
The cooking class was so much fun. Lily and Marlose were so organized and kept everyone engaged and focused in a good way. The best part was that the dishes were not complicated and were definitely meals to be enjoyed when returning to the US. In addition to the food, the wine pairings were exceptional and there was no shortage of wine if you preferred more. Our sommelier nailed the food and wine perfectly. There was also plenty of time to socialize with the rest of the group. We had folks, not only others from the US but also from Mexico and Australia, so it was great to learn more about their cooking customs and homelands. I would highly recommend this experience.

And it's delicious. Like, seriously delicious. Incredible baked goods and other almost deli-like foods. Must grab a bite here.

It's been 6 months since our honeymoon in Rome and I'm STILL dreaming of my dinner here. There's a reason reservations are booked months in advance. They are busy so the tables are close together and it's a tad warm inside, but it was August in a touristy town so I didn't expect much else. The food was the best I had in the city. So good, I was too busy eating to take pictures. We shared the oxtail ravioli and the cacio e pepe for our mains. OMG. If I could shrink myself down and swim in both dishes, I would. The only bad thing was this was our first dinner in Rome, so it really set the bar high. I might book a trip back just to eat here again.
Wonderful 20th birthday celebration for our twins!
having been referred to this restaurant from its sister restaurant a few blocks over, we were so thrilled and appreciative that they were able to seat us on a Saturday night without a reservation! From the moment we arrived everyone was lovely and friendly, and so helpful with guiding us through the meal and the wine choices. Matteo, the sommelier, was knowledgeable, charming, and so enthusiastic! The beef tartare and hen salad, as starters were bonissimo. The lamb Ragu pasta and tortellini in broth were perfectly balanced and our second dish of meatballs was tasty and filling. There was endless bread to start the meal and help mop up the sauces and finish cleaning our plates, as is our family tradition. For dessert, olive oil cake was light and tasty, and the tiramisu was dreamy… What a wonderful 20th birthday celebration for our twins. We will definitely be visiting their Soho, New York location opening soon! Looking forward to seeing Matteo there as well on his trip!!
Great cooking experience
We had the best time today. Our cooking teacher, Lily, was generous and patient. She helped us make the most delicious Italian food! And the sommelier was very knowledgeable and entertaining. Great experience. 10 / 10. The only downside was that we were so full by the end, after eating all the delicious food!
Great wine tasting experience
Having attended various wine tastings in various cities can honestly say this was the best one we’ve been to. Our Sommelier was extremely knowledgeable, demonstrated a genuine understanding and enthusiasm for the wines, gave us background information on the vineyards as well as detailed descriptions of the wines themselves. The menu was also very good.

We had a lovely meal here. We choose the €75 tasting menu, which included wine pairings. All 6 courses were unusual and delicious, with very interesting wine choices. Our waitress did a great job of introducing each dish and accompanying wines. All in all, a very entertaining evening. We would certainly book to come back when next in Rome.

In depth and thorough tasting with 12 different wines and a pairing of various delicious food. Matteo was very knowledgeable and spent a great amount of time with us. My friend and I HIGHLY recommend setting aside a few hours and booking a tasting. Totally worth it.

A few days after dining at Roscioli, in Rome, we read that the restaurant recently opened an outpost in New York City. That made the prospect of leaving Italy less depressing. My husband and I will cheerfully take the train from Philly to experience once again this restaurant's best-we've-ever-had bread basket, its peppers and anchovies stuffed with capers, and its justifiably famous carbonara, which spoiled us for every other pasta dish on our trip. Our hotel was right across from Roscioli's bakery, where we sampled excellent pizzas, pastry, and the Platonic ideal of porchetta sandwiches. We stopped again in Rome at the end of our trip and hoped to get back there. Sadly, it was booked.

Atmosphere is great and it was fun for my 25-year old twins and I to sit at the bar for lunch and get treated to a birthday cocktail!! We had the best gnocchi we've ever eaten, homemade and coupled with the most delicious sauce!! Gave us the energy to continue our sightseeing and shopping for the afternoon. Highly, highly recommend, as your tastebuds will thank you!

I wish i could give this 6 stars! We did the wine and food tasting and it was the perfect mix of facts and education about Italian wine and food as well as conversation with the others at the table and of course our amazing guide to all the courses. We sat in the wine cellar in the basement which felt like a secret chamber surrounded by hundreds of bottles of wine and a cool wooden chandelier. The portions were the perfect size, one or two bites each for the cheese and meats and a few bites of the pasta course and desserts. We felt full but not terribly full as you sometimes do after ones of these. Water and bread were unlimited and the experience was one of a kind.

I had the pasta carbonara which was very good. I suggest sitting at the bar/counter. The service was excellent. The ambiance is a bit loud and crowded but not too bad.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
