Riverhorse on Main Park City Reviews from The Last Year

Very pleased with the meal here ! A few highlights: The lobster bisque was probably the best I've had. It was rich, full of flavor and very fresh. The bacon wrapped shrimp appetizer was amazing! It was cooked well and not at all too greasy and the bacon and shrimp were Well balanced and complemented each other. The trio of meats was good. It was well cooked and I appreciated the different methods used to season and flavor the meat. The ambiance was not what I expected when I walked in - the space was airy, open and modern. It felt casual and upscale at the same time. They also had a lovely guitar player who played some great tunes but also played low enough so you could still enjoy conversation. I would recommend this place.
We hadn't been to Riverhorse for quite some time.
Decided to go there on the 4th. The ambiance, service, and entertainment are hard to beat, plus the palette cleanser at the beginning of the meal, and the small chocolate bark at the end are really nice touches that more sit down restaurants should implement. I was a bit surprised that the macadamia nut halibut is not nearly as good as I remember. The halibut tasted very fishy, the macadamias were skimpy, and the mango sauce was very disappointing. Seemed like it used to be a mango salsa instead of mango purée. Anyhow, the potatoes and asparagus were good, and the bread was spectacular. The filet was pretty good, but salted too much. The scalloped potatoes though were the best I've had. The biggest disappointment of the night though was the price tag on desserts. I can't believe they charge $19 for desserts. That's simply outrageous. That's $7 - $9 more than they should charge.
NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE
OVERRATED, TOO EXPENSIVE, AND LACKLUSTER FLAVORS We are San Francisco, Napa and NYC natives who are huge foodies and did a fair amount of research when choosing this restaurant for our 1st night in Park City. First off, the server, Paige, who seemed to be very annoyed and "put out" to even be at work took away the wine list before we even placed an order, and then tried to take way our focaccia bread within 2 minutes of sitting down so we had to ask her bring them back, so that, to us, felt like we were being a bit rushed. Not a good way to start off our 25 yr anniversary dinner:( The worst part of the meal was the very strange $18 burrata salad -an uncomplimentary mix of flavors with "hardly recognizable " sous vide peaches, very little lettuces but then came the worst-- the tuna tartare which had literally "NO flavor or spice whatsoever. It was as if someone chopped tuna and added zero seasoning: soy, ginger, sauce or anything to it. I was literally considering asking for soy sauce but decided I would remain silent. For two people the bill was nearly $500 so we felt really jipped for what we got. We did like the fries and the home- made ice cream. Overall would we would not return due to the value just was not there. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g57097-d1310555-r957158471-Riverhorse_on_Main-Park_City_Utah.html#
Fine dining at it’s best
Great variety on the menu ranging from local protein like venison and bison to seafood Service, timely, venue comfortable. Our most enjoyable meal in park city

Ambiance - 10/10 Service - 10/10 Food - we ordered the following dishes Lobster bisque (10/10). The cognac marshmallow was magnificent. Tuna tartar (6/10). Lacked flavor. Macadamia encrusted halibut (4/10). The crust was not really a crust. There was no macadamia nut flavor at all, and it was greasy. The broccolini was tough and I did not end up eating it. The mashed potatoes were good however. Cocktails (9/10).

What an experience! We walked in on a whim and got a table right away. Amazing! The food was absolutely stellar and the staff was what made the night. Great wine selection, amazing specials, and all around just smiles for us looking at the interior decor! Make a reservation and come on down! 5 stars!

By far my favorite high end eatery in PC, the food and atmosphere are perfect. The staff is very courteous and helpful.
The food, service and setting were all very good.
The halibut was amazing and our group was all pleased with the meals and drinks.

Every time I eat here, Riverhorse does not disappoint! From the food to the service, it is an amazing experience! The trout and salmon are both excellent!
Was referred to the Riverhorse on Main as a great location
Was referred to the Riverhorse on Main as a great location to dine. Overall, the food was good. The steak was probably one of the better steaks we've ever had. if we were in the area again, would we go back, no. The price was high for what we felt like we got. I got the tuna tartar a starter based on the amazing pictures I had seen on yelp. It did not look like the pictures on yelp and had a strong fish flavor. I was going to say something to the waitress when she asked how we liked everything, but not once during during our meal were we asked how the food was. I find this interesting as the service was great overall, but hadn't been asked during the whole meal how the food was. We did get the burrata as an appetizer, which was really good. If you do go, the center cup fillet was cooked great and tasted great. Other than that, I would end up trying something different on the menu than we tired this time.
Absolutely incredible meal.
Spent the day at Park City and got a late reservation to here but was totally worth the wait. My favorite part of the meal by far was the bread! A close second was my ribeye which was perfectly cooked and flavorful. They also had a pianist providing live music to the dining room.

If you're wanting the classiest food on Main Street, then Riverhorse is where you want to dine. Great for date night or group (even large groups, they have party rooms). The service is attentive. The food is first class. And because of both of these factors, the prices match ($$$$). We're local and if you're in town at the right time you can get shoulder season deals or try one of their speciality seating fixed menus.
Great place
Very good food. The mixed meat plate was our favourite. We didn’t have starters. Mains were large enough for us. Service was pretty good but not excellent. Singer was next to us and he was good and not too loud. Overall a very nice evening.
Wild game trio experience in Park City
Outstanding restaurant from the open warm feel, great musician to the delicious and perfectly arranged menu. There for a romantic post ski dinner and our waiter Jake was perhaps the best we have ever experienced. Knowledgeable about every food and drink choices, his suggestions were on point. Highly recommend the wild game trio. It was a perfect combination and the size was just right.

There is a reason that Riverhorse is considered to be the best restaurant in Park City and that is because they hit all the marks. Great food, great service and a nice ambiance. We dined in the main room last night. It was an early dinner and the room was packed halfway through the meal. Looking around I would guess that we were the only locals eating (with friends from out of town) there. Their wine list is short but good and we selected a Daou Cabernet Sauvignon which was actually on-tap and was reasonably priced for Utah. We started the evening with an amuse bouche of burrata, and mint with micro greens served on a tasty cracker. As always you were left wanting for more. Apps consisted of Pieroges (stuffed with gruyere, creme fraiche and onions) that were fried to a beautiful color and tasted incredible. Bacon wrapped shrimp (mexican shrimp with bacon and creme cheese stuffed jalapeños) and a burrata salad which was mouthwateringly delicious. The couple we were with split their signature dish, Alaskan halibut in a macadamia nut crust served with herbed whipped potatoes, mango, broccolini with a lemon emulsion sauce which was like eating liquid velvet it was so smooth and rich. My wife had the mountain trout which was cooked with a pistachio crust and served with a pistachio tuille, baby carrots (smoked perfectly) and a pomegranate-fennel salsa. The dish was served on an overly generous bed of forbidden rice. I had the 10 ounce bone in filet served with a miso mustard glaze, rosti potatoes and soy ginger glazed brussels sprouts. The latter provided the only discordant note of the evening as the were (to me) undercooked) and the stems were not removed. I ended up eating all of the charred leaves, which had best flavor and leaving the center and stems on the plate. We left, pleasantly sated and as always, looking forward to our next meal there. Pro tip - if you can't into the restaurant (not that hard in the off season) drop into the bar which offers up the full menu and is a very pleasant place to dine in its own right.

Terrible service it is our first time here and we have a stroller with us, we asked to be seated on the outside due to needing more space to place it, the host replied with a big sigh and looked bothered that we even asked- when going to place our order an employee started taking my order and the baby I had dropped my paper when I got up from grabbing it to continue the person was just texting on his phone and didn't even acknowledged what I had said, I then proceeded to just order with the next perso

This place was pretty spectacular but you do have to make reservations two months in advance (the earliest you can book). That being said, we had an 8:30pm reservation but called the day of and were able to move it to 7:30, which was ideal. Our server was lovely and the pace of dining was not rushed. We sampled all of the fish entrees which were all delicious. We barely saved room for dessert but of course tried a few which were a lovely end to our night. This place is a splurge but it it totally worth it.
This place lives up to the hype, for sure.
Again, all pricing on Main street is obscene, so be ready for that. Cocktails here are fine. We are not huge wine people, but that is probably the move here. The lobster bisque is truly magical. You have to order this if you come to Riverhorse. We ordered this and the buffalo tartare. They split the bisque into two presentations for us. Very classy and it was delicious. The buffalo tartare was one of the best (if not the best) we have every had. And we are big tartare enthusiasts. For the mains, we shared the crusted halibut and the veal shank. There was a lot of chatter about the halibut on Yelp, but this was a let down. The fish itself was a bit dry and the potatoes had some intense lemon flavor that was tasty, but felt strange on the plate. I also did not understand the purpose of the mango sauce. The veal shank was AMAZING. It was juicy and tender and came with the most delicious truffle cream sauce. On the side was an artichoke with pesto pasta on top. A strange presentation choice, but the artichoke was delicious and the pesto was very good. Unfortunately the linguini was overcooked, but it didn't take much away from the dish. We had a chocolate cake for dessert (a gift from the kitchen for our anniversary) that was just fine. I wouldn't judge it to harshly since it wasn't a menu item. I would be very excited to come back to this establishment. The service was amazing throughout the meal. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating.
Don't miss this outstanding dining experience.
Absolutely outstanding. Beet salad and brussel sprouts were outstanding. Had halibut and Wild Salmon and the presentation was beautiful and the fish was cooked perfectly. A smorgasbord of flavors!! Connor our server was attentive, knowledgeable and personable. Entire staff were friendly. Great atmosphere. Nice beverage selections. Wonderful dining experience.
We had reservations for 9 which they took a credit card
We had reservations for 9 which they took a credit card number.. one of our party had a ski accident fractured pelvis in which 5 of our party were at the hospital with her. We called the restaurant to cancel to get no answer so we left a message. We finally got through to get the third degree and were told that we needed to have the other four come to sit dinner and they would not charge us the 900 (100 per head ).. We arrived and ate our meal.. The food was fine as was the service.. the 100 dollar fee for a bottle of bonanza Cabernet was outrageous as well as the 23% charge on meal and drinks.. needless to say we left paying close to 350 per couple and felt fleeced... We will not return nor would we recommend.. Lastly, atmosphere not special.. they sat us near the kitchen and the room was more like an upgraded cafeteria than a high class steak place..
Excellent food from a truly great kitchen.
This was our best dining experience in Park City. We were a party of 10 with a reservation and were promptly seated upstairs in front of the Piano. Service was quick as we had cocktails and ordered wines which were promptly served. We ordered various dishes and were pleasantly surprised at the how great the food is at Riverhorse. I started with the Mushroom Salad which I found to be delicious and very creative with different flavors and sauces. After I had Salmon with Eggplant and again, very original dish attractively served and absolutely delicious. I have been to a lot of restaurants and appreciate the creative dishes. The chef is not just going through the paces, this is really well thought out food combined beautifully. We tried three different wines from the list and enjoyed them all. A great dinner!
The Flavor Capital of Park City
Please see my review from January 2015 as this will be a ditto and confirmation of the continuing greatness of this restaurant. Again I had the wild game trio after a quail appetizer and just as in 2015 the buffalo could be cut with a fork. What makes this place unique is the complimentary flavors offered that brings everything together. All fresh and innovative with emphasis on a balance of flavor the enhances the main food served. The quail had a great fruity sauce that blew me away. Reservations are an absolute must and should be made months in advance. The place is always loud and crowded but service was good and friendly. The wine list is smaller from what I remember before. Prices are around 3X retail and there are some OK choices but I recommend you bring your own and pay the moderst corkage. It is a shame that their wine list does not really complement the chef's innovative cuisine. But in the end the food here is the best you will find in the area and I will continue to come yearly
Josephine was the best waitress.
She took care of everything and we appreciated her hospitality.

We've been coming here for over 20 years and it's still our favorite. The food is the best of Park City. Love their steak and fish dishes. Had the trout tonight and it was fabulous. Their live music and ambiance are a nice touch. It's more upscale but you can still dress casual and kids are welcomed. My kids enjoyed the filet mignon. Super good! We've had excellent service but tonight it was not 5 stars and I worry they've gotten too popular to try as much. Rooms for improvement: when part of your party isn't seated together, it would be better service to walk the other part to the table when they arrive rather than just telling them where to walk. Wine could be poured throughout dinner service. We poured our own. Otherwise, our server was friendly and kind and most importantly, the food was hot, beautiful presentation and delicious. Book as far in advance as you can!!
The absolute best meal we had in PC hands down.
The experience from start to finish was white glove. Reservations are a must - and I'd book as close to ~60 days out as you can (when the window opens). As a group, we loved our filets and the veal chop. Everything was so delicious. Worth every penny.
Such an outstanding experience.
The staff was attentive. The food was top notch. The interior space was gorgeous. They were absolutely attentive to dietary restrictions. I can't recommend this place enough.
We had a confirmed reservation from The Montage tonight
We had a confirmed reservation from The Montage tonight that the restaurant refused to honor. We showed our itinerary from the concierge but the host said only the Resy confirmation would work. Management should know the male host was hostile and rude instead of kindly saying it was a miscommunication and our table had been given away. No idea why this guy came at us with anger instead of understanding. We were calm and honestly just confused by the whole situation. We made this reservation months ago and had been looking forward to it, but this situation left a terrible impression.
Bad family restaurant
I came here with my two kids ages 8 and 6. They were on their iPads which was not loud because I could not hear it from across the table and we’ve been to multiple restaurants with them on it and we immediately tell them if it is. I could however hear the conversation from other guests two tables away. One of the guests complained about the iPad and I could clearly hear her conversations from my table. Instead of assessing the situation the manager Greg immediately asked us to turn the iPad down which I could not hear from right across the table. I however felt like the lady across from us whose conversation I could clearly hear had a problem with kids. The manager Greg should have properly assessed the situation. It ruined my night. The food was good and our server Josephine was exceptional which saved the night. However I would not go back. I felt that the manager was discriminating with families with smaller kids.
Special occasion - never again.
Supposed to be the best in Park City. Came for a special occasion and they didn't honor the reservation time until 20 minutes late. The starters were nice. If I could have heard myself think they might have been good. It's been an hour and a half and the mains are not here. I want to escape from this loud, average, chaotic, slow-service place, full of loud people and video game-playing children. We are asking for the check before the mains arrive. We regret staying this long. Sadly, the 12 year old at the table next to us has coughed the whole meal (never covered his mouth once) and played his video game loudly the whole time. The place is a cacophony of noisy guitar, loud voices, and I-can't-hear-myself-think. I'll be hoarse from shouting tomorrow. And likely sick after that. Where is our food? Where is the server? If you wait long enough your appetite goes away. Told our server and asked for the check. Found a manager, shared our story. The end.
Good, not great
One of the most popular spots in Park City. Food was better than the aesthetic of the space which felt like a mishmash of design styles and rooms. Food was good, service ok. Very expensive even by PC standards.
A perfect evening!
My husband and I had a reservation (a must) and were seated in the main dining room just outside of the glass sunroom. The room is beautiful and so pleasing to the eye. Our server was kind and very helpful, with suggestions for dinks and entrees. We both had delicious drinks and food. The beet salad is so tangy yummy and the lobster bisque divine! Our entrees were perfection. We dined during the earlier part of the evening since it was the only reserved spot we could get but the pace was not rushed and we enjoyed almost 2 full hours for our meal start to finish. There were all sorts of people- dressed up couples, parents with multiple young kids, people just done skiing, you name it. This was such an enjoyable evening and to be able to look out over the snow covered balconies of Main Street made it perfect. I also think the prices were on par for the quantity and quality of the food for any upscale resort area. So many mentions of pricey restaurants in Park City. Let’s face it, if you can afford to ski here, you can afford a dinner on Main Street. Thanks for a great evening. Highly recommend!
A memorable meal
The most exquisite meal. We sat by the window looking out on Main Street (perfect to the start of a milestone birthday celebration for my husband). The food and service puts Riverhorse a cut above anything else you can find in Park City. We went meat heavy as that is clearly a feature of the menu. We first enjoyed the land appetizer, a trio quail leg lollipops, pork potstickers, and waygu beef bites. I had the entree of wild game - also a trifecta of Buffalo, bison, and elk. My husband started his theme of ribeye steaks. We switched our main sides as I loved their sweet potatoes and creamed spinach. The waiter was attentive, firm with recommendations with strong knowledge of the menu, and checked in to meet our needs. Our only regret, no room for dessert, though the cupcake to celebrate they provided was insanely good. The bill was accompanied by a pepita nut brittle, a little too sticky for my tastes but a nice wrap up. Cocktails and wines were unique and not the typical list you find in restaurants. And for the non-drinker at the table, cheers for excellent mocktails, as well...something that should be standard anywhere in Utah, but isn't.
Delicious Food. Great Experience.
Excellent meal from start to finish. Lobster 🦞 bisque was awesome. Ahi tuna app was fresh and tasty. Crusted Halibut with mashed potatoes was delicious. Nice upscale atmosphere. I’ll be returning soon!
Underwhelming
Unfortunately, this was the place we were looking forward to dining at the most during our trip and we were underwhelmed. We appreciate the host/hostess working to accommodate us at an earlier time and maybe that attributed to our disappointing experience. It started off good with our friendly waitress and the apple cider cocktail and the buffalo tartare. The focaccia and butter were delicious, but the amuse from the chef was supposedly pork, but tasted fishy. It went downhill from here. I ordered the ahi tuna and the risotto was so salty I could not eat it. My friend's entrée was equally as salty (she ordered the center cut filet). We both left a majority of our entrees untouched. Our waitress disappeared for about 45 minutes during this time. A food runner/busboy, who was very sweet, came and took our plates, but no one asked if there was a problem with our meals. We opted not to have dessert at that point. Also, the live music was so melancholy and sleepy. Overall, an expensive and disappointing meal.

Great Service - amazing dinner!!
Read about the site in NYT and bought a reservation at Mother Wolf in LA 2 days later. Worked great and the food was amazing!!!
Worked perfectly!
Got the reservation (that I couldn't get anywhere else) and was able to entertain a group of friends at the infamous Bern's Steakhouse.
Got into Nobu Malibu
Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!
Very easy
Was very hesitant going into this experience but am glad to say that it worked out very well ! will definitely use appointment trader in the future
Fabulous Lunch
I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!
Great reviewer team
Just wanted to take a second to shout out the reviewer team. Even though they probably review hundreds of listings and bids a day, they still take the time to leave great comments and respond relatively quickly. Thanks!
Incredible
I got a reservation to Don Angie, which I've been trying to book for weeks! I am very happy with this service.
Best platform out there!
Super simple, easy, and fast to secure reservations for hard-to-get restaurants and locations!
This app is life changing
This app has opened my world up to so many wonderful new experiences I would never have the chance to have without access to this awesome app! 10/10!
Worked perfectly
Was a little nervous at first but was pleased to see that the booking went through flawlessly.
Highly recommended.
Success on Short Notice
Was able to snag an indoor table at Don Angie through an absolutely seamless worry-free process.
Worked perfectly, thank you!
This is a crazy holiday season in NYC and I was very pleasantly surprised to see that AppointmentTrader works! Will be using again!

Quick table in Miami
I didn’t have my hopes high as it was a party of 4. In 24 hours I had a carbone reservation available! I was very happy as my family really wanted to come here
Prime time, great meal

perfect
Worked well, got me into a restaurant with no availability
I was skeptical, and I still don't really know how they managed to find this hard-to-find reservation, but it was a win-win from my point of view, and I'll use this service again.
Last minute reservation for Delilah Las Vegas
Got a last minute reservation, dinner for 2 at Delilah Las Vegas: super impressed! The process was simple, transaction seamless. We had an amazing time! Couldn’t be happier! 😍
It works!
Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!
Money transfer
As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.
Love this app
Got to go to places otherwise unreachable
Easy Access
Very easy to get into one of the hardest restaurants to reserve in New York.
Whose name will my reservation be under when I arrive at the venue?
It can be under your name or a name you choose! Some reservation offers already include the AppointmentTrader Transfer Service which will transfer the reservation in to your name. If its not included you can add it on after buying the reservation for a small fee. One thing on that though: As many reservations become available at last minute, taking a reservation in someone else name is quick and great for privacy. Most reservations on AT are listed with a virtual phone number, so all you need to do is present the phone number at the hostess stand and you are good to go!
Payouts Blocked Because of Sell Through Rate
Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??
Tune into NBC News - Top Story Tonight 7:40p ET
Let’s go. Get more people placing bids!
I will give you 50% of ALL of my PROFITS if you teach me how to make profits?
LOL. Thank you The New Yorker.

Transferring reservations is not supported in AT. Why not just use the name in the AT screenshot?
Buyers interested in Bern's Steakhouse: PLEASE READ
Same goes for 4 Charles and I Sodi
Prepaid Reservation Fee
Agreed. Ultimately not addressing this month after month is clearly resulting in a drop in certain venue’s rankings & sales.
Congrats on 3 mil

Need to cancel a bid, not getting a response… how do I do it?
Click on "Take off the Market Option" in your portfolio
Working on your bid?
Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.
Process after bid is accepted.
Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
Where do the Reservations on AppointmentTrader come from?
Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.
What happens if my bid expires unanswered?
Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
