Lovely MIchelin star restaurant
Lovely atmosphere, fabulous experience. Far more friendly then a lot of Michelin star restaurants. We felt very welcomed. Food was excellent. We had a choice of five courses or eight courses. I would recommend five courses as this was more then enough food. Wonderful night for the six of us. Highly recommend.
Be the first to ReplyNovelty food, just not that great tasting ultimately
We enjoy eating in Michelin star restaurants one or twice a year, so we are very much onboard when restaurants try something different in terms of preparations or flavours. Unfortunately, in our opinion (of course), the food just didn't taste very memorable, especially in the context of the price. Lots of beautiful looking plates and certainly lots of unique preparations - but, really, what is the point if you leave unsatisfied, hungry and the actual act of eating is a big let-down... Duck was fairly bland and unseasoned, cod croquette we both agreed tasted exactly like a generic fish finger - not anything like you'd hope in a place aiming this high where you might expect a tiny croquette to be a big bang of delicious cod etc. Hot fish was served with an ice cold quenelle of saffron (I think, from memory) sorbet. Again, different, but just not tasty. Would want to be really delicious to warrant it, surely?
Room is beautiful and modern while still feeling Venetian. I thought tables and seats were spaced a little too far apart, it doesn't feel very romantic or intimate as a result, but that's personal preference.
Service was professional but impersonal. Zero conversation. Staff seemed a little confused when we tried to engage with them at all. I asked for olive oil for the bread and was told simply, no, impossible. Found it a bit strange to be totally honest when shelling out this much money for a meal, not to either accommodate as basic a request as that or to either explain why they might recommend against it etc.
I wouldn't go back.
The best
With the possible exception of the first time I ate at Nobu London, this was the best meal I have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. We chose the 8 course option and had a wonderful time with our eyes and our taste buds. Recommend with every fibre of my culinary being.
Be the first to ReplyGood food, friendly staff, slightly overpriced
We had dinner at Wisteria for my partner's birthday and had an enjoyable experience. From the moment that you walk in the restaurant, the staff are faultless; they didn't miss a step and are, I would say, the restaurant's strongest asset. We had the five course tasting menu with a bottle of wine chosen from the wine list (as opposed to the wine pairing). The food is very well presented and offers an assortment of flavours made with local ingredients. The staff also kindly arranged a small birthday 'cake' for after dessert. Whilst we enjoy dining out and experiencing restaurants of different levels, I think to fully enjoy this restaurant you need to be a passionate connaisseur of food and flavours. We left a little bit hungry and, without the bread, this would have been even more so the case! For an absolute minimum spend of 110EUR per person, this leaves you a touch wanting. Moreover, whilst the modern decor is a plus, the tables are a little too close together, leading to a slightly less intimate/private dining experience. Overall, a great restaurant that is worth visiting but perhaps just slightly overpriced for what it is.

Creative, sumptuous food with excellent blends and flavors. Their contemporary takes on local Italian traditions make for exciting dinning.
We felt that the restaurant surpassed our expectations as not all one star locations impress this much or come close to this level of detail. Charming, receptive and comprehensive staff made us feel pampered but simultaneously gave us the distance to enjoy our time together as a couple. The sommelier was super helpful and we were hosted in Portuguese which was an extra delight ! ( At least six languages are fluently spoken among the floor staff which for many means a much better understanding of the dish’s ingredients ) The tasting is perfectly paced; not too fast never feeling slow. The interior and decor are stylish and comfortable with a lot of space and clever layout allowing for a good night out atmosphere but with enough privacy for romance or gossip :)
The crown of Venice! Do not miss out! We will certainly be back.
Excellent and worth it
I visited recently with my wife and daughter. We were an hour late because we got lost and we were still received with a very friendly attitude despite our tardiness. The service was impeccable. The food was amazing, very creative without losing its local charm. We tried the smaller menu and were really satisfied. We did not do the wine pairing, instead we ordered from their amazing wine list. They were very nice about respecting food allergies which sometimes can be hard with multiple course meals. In a city with so many delicious options, Wisteria is worth the visit.
