Dining at this Michelin star restaurant was something I have been looking forward to throughout my entire Europe travel tour. When first approaching All'Oro, the head chef Ricardo himself let us through the gates as we arrived right at opening time. The service was mind blowing. From the beginning we felt as if all the attention was directed toward us, almost a little too much, where we were asked questions from the chef himself, we're seated in a beautifully decadent basement dining area where the dark contrasted heavily with the pop of the plates we were given. The Starting gift 5/5My party and I were mind-blown upon the arrival of 7 mini plates, each with the perfect amount of portion for a flavorful bite or two with my party of 3. The first thing that stood out to me immediately was the plating. I have never experienced such creative and contemporary styles of presentation at a restaurant. There was a tooth filled with pasta to symbolize how "Al dente" (spin with "dental" ) the pasta was. Another example is the white porcelain chicken that contained a delicious Lilly pop chicken bone. Although some of these dishes were more memorable than others, each provided a unique burst of flavor, nearly impossible to process coming from such a small portion. My favorite was the Sicily inspired eggplant cannoli.Appetizer 5/5Tiramisu of potatoes. This was my favorite plate of the evening. Flawless presentation as a cappuccino, even complete with chocolate dust upon it. But when you dig in, you find a buttery layering of creamy potatoes, pork, and melt in your mouth cod. Mind blowing and done to perfection. Pasta 4/5Ravolini stuffed pasta with duck ragout. Honestly didn't absolutely love this plate, the duck did not stand out, the red wine reduction and pasta itself stole the show, very well cooked and flavorful. Still great. Really liked the cappelletti "dry booth" the other members of my party got with truffles.Meat 3/5Rocher of Oxtail. Perfectly well done meat within a ball beautifully plated. I am a little bias against red meat but thought it tasted good, which is definitely a sign. Similar taste to Lamb. Dessert 5/5Insane must try sponge cake tiramisu, surrounded by a wall of marzipan. Not too sweet and the perfect texture. Best tiramisu I personally have had. One of my girlfriends favorite desserts so I have been an tiramisu aficionado as of late.Overall, cannot complain about much. The service is what made this a clear 5/5 for me. The interactions I was able to have with chef Riccardo di Giacinto were very telling of the individualized experience we received here. The bathroom also has a slow sliding door which is an insane must see. Great first Michelin experience.
