Amazing tacos
The octopus tacos are amazing!!! Lengue tacos were tender and delicious. Duck tacos were incredible. Don't miss this place. We had our dog with us, ordered from the take out window and went over to the cider house across the street for a wonderful lunch!
Be the first to ReplyLa Gastro Cantina ~ Chef Geo
What a wonderful place there was outside seating under a protected area. But the best seats are right across from the grill ! And from there you can watch Aunt Teresa prepare the fresh tortilla made with love ❤️. Chef Geo has it all together and is happy to engage you with explanation of his creations. And Brian was at the ready for your orders and drink orders yum 👍🏽 This was a wonderful visit,, Thanks again Wild Bill
Be the first to Replyway to pricey
not sure where is it getting the 4.5 stars but food is way too expensive at $6 and $8 dollars per taco, goat tacos at $18 each , you can find better tasting tacos at a cheaper price for real
Be the first to ReplyPretentious Rip Off - Doesn't deliver in any aspect.
Went for a second time after a few years (it used to be more high end traditional Mexican - With much better quality and service), now it's has completely lost it. Not sure if it was Mexican or what. Dishes pretty bland. Staff was unaccommodating, pretentious and just poor hosts. Prices have gone up and not worth a $200-250 meal pp. $50 tequila shot glass? Cannot recommend for any reason at all. Facility smells like restroom disinfectant, food eatable but sub par and not worth it. Deep Ellum is a complete mess. One friend spent all night vomiting (only one with special dishes as had some allergies). Save yourself a bad experience and avoid this place!
Be the first to ReplyLa Resistencia is worth the investment
Called "La Resistencia" the prix-fixe menu at Deep Ellum's Revolver Taco Lounge remains something of a secret, Regino Rojas' reinvention of the tiny indoor dining space occurring as a result of the pandemic and seating a small number of guests Thursday through Saturday. Held in a room affectionately called “Purepecha,” an indigenous group that has long inhabited Michoacán, La Resistencia focuses on ancient techniques and Ingredients including Corn imported weekly from Oaxaca to create an eight-course tasting prone to seasonal inspiration. Currently $150 per person, a price commiserate with Revolver’s inventive Tacos that have captured the attention of hipsters throughout DFW, it is with a pair of servers that the self-trained Chef cooks in plain view, an Oyster Amuse bracing but beautiful and well paired to a stiff Margarita kissed by Mezcal. Progressing similar to a French tasting menu, the two-bite “Sandwichito” not especially Mexican yet undeniably delicious as premium Hokkaido Crab arrives soaked with Butter beneath Caviar on Toast, Atun Crudo eats much like Ceviche thanks to spice and Citrus but with Olive Oil adding texture. Onward to Soup, a generous bowl of dark Broth teaming with Chicken and aromatics plus melted Cheese and Cream, it is here that Rojas' hand-nixtamalized Corn takes center stage, first as a White Heirloom Corn Tortilla beneath Squash Blossoms and Mushrooms followed by perfectly grilled Dover Sole on soft Red Corn coated in Sage Cream. Throttling back with tender Blue Fin in Nectarine Consommé, dots of Oil adding smoke and Salt, La Resistencia’s main course lets Ingredients do the talking from medium-rare Wagyu and Foie Gras to porky Beans, housemade Salsa and eight handmade Tortillas in at least four colors. Smart to keep Dessert small and simple, Lemon Tequila Curd on Shortbread given texture by Cream and Corn Nuts, it is with the bill paid that diners emerge in the thick of Deep Ellum's nightlife with a deeper understanding of what Mexican cuisine can look like in America when it is created with skill and respect.
Be the first to ReplyFood Poisoning
Ate there on 4/29/20 and got FOOD POISONING. I reported it to the health department. DO NOT eat here! It is not safe to consume this restaurants food. (Others that ate the pork or beef tacos here during Covid-19 crisis should be concerned).
Be the first to ReplyTacos al Pastor - YUM
Stopped here as part of a Secret Food Tour, so we only had the appetite (room) for one taco. Worth a return trip though - lots of yummy sounding variations on a taco. We had Tacos al Pastor. These were of the street taco variety - small and a perfect size for trying several different ones. These were tender, and super tasty., and happen to be my favorite kind of taco. We loved them!
Be the first to ReplyA taco experience
Some of the craziest, most intriguing taco combinations I've ever tried. I tried al pastor (a classic), duck, and eel. Each one was completely different but very tasty. The micheladas are great too. The venue is small but we had no issue with seating. Highly recommend checking it out for some taco variety.
Be the first to ReplyAre you kidding me? Perfect!!!
The pescado, duck and Calabasito and PORK tacos all so delicious!! Made our whole trip to Dallas worth it. Bravo!! The tortillas are made before you Eyes on wooden tortilla press. Best tacos we’ve ever had.

They do one thing here and it is Tacos. They happen to do it really well too. Stopped in for lunch today and had the Pulpos (Octopus), Squash, Carne Asada and Pastor tacos. Each one was delicious and unique, tasting distinctly different from the others. Tacos were on the small side, which makes sense for ~$3.50. Ordering more was quick. The restaurant is small with a funky, cool vibe. There is a large communal table that provides much of the seating (14-16?) that turns over pretty quickly. One very friendly person gave menus, took orders and brought out the food. Very friendly to the GF audience. Great menu all around. Nice to have the focus on Tacos and see it done VERY well. Go here :)
