ResDiary Glasgow Reviews from The Last Year
Spicy food
It wasn't very big inside and it was also warm and stuffy. The server was friendly, but we still had to wait a long time for the food. Fortunately, the food was delicious and especially spicy.
A disappointing experience
My wife and I visited Hanoi for the first time since the change of ownership. We were frequent visitors before the change. Sadly, the experience was nothing like it used to be. No more board specials and a much more restricted menu. Most of the food served was average but, on a positive note, the service was friendly. The Vietnamese coffee served was shocking - watered down and pretty close to undrinkable. We won't be back. Such a shame as it used to be one of our favourite destinations.
Fathers day lunch
Went for lunch with my kids on fathers day, there was a rather off putting smell when you first walk in, not sure if its the cooking or a blocked drain! Only downsatirs was open and the seatings was a bit ramshackle, and where we sat wasnt particularly confortable. However the staff were very friendly and the food was good, had a satay dish and the Lychee limeade was top notch. Would go back.
Excellent food and service
Enjoyed a lovely meal here over half term. Service was very friendly and food was excellent. Would definitely recommend.
Outstanding
Booed a table for a Saturday night. Service when we arrived was fantastic and we were shown to our table. We quickly got drinks and then were given time to look at the menu. I opted for the seafood Pho. I feel like I could have gone for a higher spice but the food was delicious. I tried the beef Pho too, also amazing. Staff were friendly and attentive. A great night.
A very mixed bag...
A busy and bustling place and a little cramped, but staff were attentive and very friendly. The menu was, unfortunately, rather limited and quite a few of the listed items were unavailable resulting in even fewer options. The fish cakes starter, while very tasty was very small for the price - two 5cm diameter patties seemed poor value for £10. The sweet potato fritters were, unfortunately, frazzled, served blackened and burnt. The caramel chicken was delicious and was a generous portion. One of my colleagues opted for the banquet and was particularly appreciative of the chicken satay. Overall, a mixed bag, hence the rating. I have been before and feel it was definitely better the last time.
Longing for some Asian food after a few days from home...
As we entered the fifth day of our Scotland journey and on this day trip to Glasgow, I think it's only natural that we needed some Asian comfort food. As I went through our itinerary for the day, I noticed there is a Vietnamese noodle shop along the way. Without a second thought, that will be our place for lunch! I was expecting this could be run by some Vietnamese or Asian cook but after we entered, I did not notice any staff there with oriental complexion. Not an issue at all, as long as the food is decent and cures our craving for some Asian noodles. This place specialises in Vietnamese pho (a very popular Vietnamese rice noodle) amongst the many different kinds of noodles/vermicelli that exists. This is of course a must order item for us. I was also particularly attracted by the name "Hanoi" as I did find the pho to be smoother than other local cities when I was in Hanoi, Vietnam. We ordered the big mussels in a pot (as we enjoyed the mussels so much in Scotland), 2 bowls of pho (beef and seafood) and a stir fried vegetables. The big mussels was so tasty but the portion was so big we had to leave room for the other dishes. Both the beef and seafood pho were nicely prepared and the soup base was also balanced enough (not overly intense) to tempt us spoonful after spoonful to finish it. The vegan wok fried vegetables were however, relatively plain and it was not too visually appealing. Not a must order in my view. One note to make is, I added ₤1 to add extra pho as I haven't had any noodles for almost a week (considered staple and comfort food for me). Also, the menu for building your pho bowl had a spice level you can choose... I am actually a spice and chilli lover and my tolerance for spiciness is just over the top, so, even if I chose Level 5: Shall We Call an Ambulance Now", it wasn't that spicy for me... just in case anyone of you was expecting a fiery taste, it may not be of the same level. The restaurant setting and ambience reminds me of a country style family restaurant. The tables and utensils used were also very nostalgic. We obviously over-ordered a bit but it was a very fulfilling meal!
Very good food, service OK
Had a reservation gif Saturday night, small group of 3. Were promptly seated to a higher table with not very comfortable chairs, after some hesitation we were asked to if we want to be reseated to a regular table with better chairs. Ordered appetizers to share and main courses, in fact I hit fir a special lamb rump, which was very new (based on our server info, so she had to go to chef to ask for details on what it really was. Food gif each of us arrived at a different time, so it took almost 10 min prior all three of us had good (this could have been done better). Ed all agreed that food was very good. Prices are reasonable. Good ambience. There glasses would benefit from an upgrade / replacement - looks pretty wear off (damaged by dishwasher). No wind glases, wind served to a regular water glass.
Really poor
Really disappointing. The service was all over the place and one waitress was really rude. I had been here years ago and enjoyed it but my recent experience was terrible. There are plenty better restaurants in Glasgow, this one should be avoided. As I arrived 2 men decided not to stay saying it had terrible smell.
Avoid Hanoi Bike Shop - really bad experience
Terrible service from disinterested staff and a manager who clear had lost control of orders/kitchen. Utterly appalling.
Tasty Vietnamese food
First visit but will be back. Friendly, helpful staff. Nice laid back atmosphere. Really tasty food and big portions. Particularly enjoyed the chicken satay and the pork belly. Chicken pho with purple egg was excellent.
Disappointing experience with poor service
Disappointing experience. Very lengthy wait between arriving and finally ordering a drink. It was explained that the food would arrive as and when it was ready- this concept only really works with sharing plates, not when you are encouraged to order a starter and a main. For us, it meant again a very lengthy wait between dishes. Half the party had finished their main before others had received their first dish. If it had been explained that they were short staffed, we would have understood. However there was little in the way of an apology or any explanation. We only were afforded the opportunity order a drink once, meaning a long time waiting for dishes with nothing to drink. We won’t be back.
Excellent Sunday dinner
Excellent meal. Fresh, spicy flavours and generous portions which represented great value. Served promptly by friendly staff. Really great.
A real gem. Excellent flavours.
This is a lovely small restaurant with a real buzz. The food is superb, so flavoursome and portion sizes generous. Will definitely return.
Keeping up the high standard
We were very taken with the Hanoi Bike Shop. The staff were delightful and the food excellent. The menu was quite wide and varied and we were very happy with the choice.
Fantastic banquet feast.
4 friends out to try the banquet menu which didn’t disappoint! Lots of varied dishes with plenty of food, each one was as fresh and delicious as the next. Really not sure why this place has had some bad reviews, we were very happy customers.
Worth a visit
Located in the hipster enclave. Had a light lunch of their fishcakes. Was pleasantly surprised at how meaty and springy the fishcakes were (other establishments add too much flour and fillers to cut costs and they end up hard and rubbery). The fishcakes were panfried and crispy on the outside. Friendly service. Industrial/rustic/Viet decor. An enjoyable meal.
Avoid
Had an anniversary meal here and ordered the banquet tonight. The food was ok but the amount of food we got for £60 was not enough it’s called a banquet but it’s half a main and a couple of starters. Poor quality and disappointing.

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Yes unfortunately they are finding more and more ways to lock up sellers money. Sell thru rate, refund rate, limiting withdrawal amounts ler day and per month (which for me are the same number which makes no sense). Lot of sellers leaving as you can see from the lifetime sales not really increasing. Most posts on here are frustrated sellers which is not a recipe for success

I’m sorry to hear about this - I’m a brand new seller on the platform and didn’t realize this was a *thing* - any chance you can point me to the fine print/documentation where this policy is stated (also identifying other caveats like this would be appreciated)?
