This one will go on the regular rotation when we visit DC.
One of the most flavorful and delicious meals weโve had from start to finish in a long time and Iโd consider us โfoodiesโ. If you can request Esteban just let him hand select your menu, sit back and prepare to be wowed. 10/10. Flavors were magnificent.
Be the first to ReplyPoppadom
Iโm glad I came here, I really am. The poppadom was insane. I come from the UK where poppadom is mostly done right and can be so good itโs addictive but this was completely different. The best poppadom Iโve ever had, especially the ones shaped like tennis rackets, they were melt in your mouth good. The chicken tikka and mint sauce, however, was nothing to write home about and our server was annoying and quite forceful with his suggestions.

Made reservations here during a recent vacation and sat purposely at the kitchen table section so we would have something interesting to talk about while eating. Had a great experience. DH and I split tikka masala, small cauliflower dish, mango shrimp appetizer, chickpea and potato appetizer and the combo chutneys with papadam. Everything was good although would say the shrimp (recommended by our waiter was an unexpected favorite.) this amount was perfect for 2 hungry people. We order Indian food a fair amount but really loved trying several new dishes here. Would def come back if in town again.
Be the first to ReplyI don't love Indian but I LOVED Rasika
I am not a fan of Indian food in general but for my wife's birthday we finally made it to Rasika. She loves it and I love her so... I have to say, it was nothing short of spectacular. Every bite was amazing. Full of flavor, colorful, deep, bright, a true pleasure to dine here. The spinach is a MUST and the 4 course tasting menu was about 8 courses. Great value and great bites. The lentils were my favorite and I don't even like lentils.
Be the first to ReplyOutstanding restaurant week meal
Came here for restaurant week as 2 couples. $65 tasting menu for 3 courses. As we were 4 people, we basically ordered almost everything on the menu and just shared. Everything was excellent and the portions were quite generous. The service was outstanding. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant.

Order the black cod. A little disappointed that the signature dish didn't come with any sides just a stingy bed of cauliflower puree. It was very good cod and decent sized but, they could've put some side vegetables or a bit more of the cauliflower! We had to order a side of rice to go with it. The chicken tikka masala thankfully came with rice.
Be the first to ReplyThorough enjoyed our dinner
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at this restaurant. Service was good and the food was so flavorful. Sweet potato Samosa was tasty as well as the ragda pattice for appetizers. Our mains were good, lamb chops, paneer mirch ka salan with a small portion of gohbi mattar. Very enjoyable dinner and would return.

My husband and I had a wonderfully romantic dinner here, for at least the third time. The staff has an Old World elegance in their professionalism, friendliness, and class. Water glasses are discreetly refilled, and your server always appears at just the right time. The manager stops by to say hello. The kitchen serves modern Indian - such heavenly flavor combinations! Also try the truffle-oil naan and for dessert, the lovely light date pudding. The decor has understated sparkle, and the vibe is quietly romantic. Even with a full dining room, we could hear the low background music. Highly recommend, and do make reservations first!

Love this restaurant so much !! Every dish is perfect!! I highly recommend it. The ambiance and decor are also a highlight . The service is also top notch! Every time I visit DC I go and I never get disappointed .
Be the first to ReplyUnderwhelming
Service was not very good at all. Didnโt see our waiter for very long periods of time. Had to request someone to take our order and sat with empty glasses for 15 minutes during the meal. Food was decent but service really made the experience underwhelming. Will not be back. Recommend passing on this placeโฆoverrated.

Overall a great dining experience. My second time here and I needed vegetarian food options, which did NOT disappoint. It was my husband and our friendโs first time, they enjoyed their cocktails, lamb, and chicken dishes. Service was outstanding, thanks Mohammed! We canโt wait to be back.
Be the first to ReplyFantastic food and flavors
We had reservations for a party of 5. We got the corner table. Phenomenal service. We did the Chefโs tasting menu - with a series of amazing stuff brought to our table. From Kale Papri-chat to Sweet Potato samosa to Delhi Papadi Chaat - the flavors were amazing, the rice and breads were good and the curries were amazing. We were pretty stuffed and the desserts were good as well. Washed it all down with MacAllen 18 fine scotch. Really an experience to savor and an evening to remember.
Be the first to ReplyNot worth the hype
Order via Uber eats, taste is nowhere authentic Indian. Ordered Paneer tawa masala and got paneer curry, aloo pattice was not good too. Mango Lassi was good
Be the first to ReplyIncredible!
Even though I was excited to try Rasika, I was only cautiously optimistic because Iโve been let down by hyped restaurants before. But the hype is for real here. We eat Indian food frequently at home, and still I donโt know all of what I ate here, but it was all fantastic. We got the 4 course tasting meal, which I highly recommend. Thereโs a 6 course too, but we were full from the 4. The presentation was stellar too. Service was very good. Restaurant is definitely a bit loud, which I didnโt quite expect, but Iโd definitely go back.
Be the first to ReplyGreat family Dinner experience
My family and I had an amazing experience there. We tried making reservations online and it was booked so we called the restaurant and they were able to accommodate us with a table of 7. Everyone including the teenagers enjoyed every dish we ordered and they also had mock-tails the kids enjoyed as well. Everyone was very accommodating and made sure my family and I were satisfied every step of the service. We ordered about 5 appetizers and 6 entree and make it a family style where we all tried everything and they did not disappoint.

Itโs nice enough place to visit. Curries are good. Portions ok. Service average. Good value for money in general. If you like spicy food then good to visit.

Absolutely fabulous dinner at Rasika during restaurant week. Their $55 deal is definitely worth the price! The groupโs favorites were the mango shrimp, palak chaat, halibut malai, and the lamb dakshani. All of the sauces were to die for- we kept all of them throughout the courses to dip our naan in. Ahmed provided above & beyond service! Will absolutely be back.
Be the first to ReplyRespite on a rainy Sunday afternoon
We called in for a late lunch for two and got a table. It was rainy and we had a long drive ahead of us, so we chose a nice relaxing afternoon meal to serve as supper. Rasika was wonderful! We chose a tasting menu and confirmed that they could accommodate my nut allergy. Our server worked seamlessly with the kitchen team to select replacement options that would be nut-free, allowing my partner to have the full tasting menu. The food selections were varied, plentiful and quite tasty. Many had spicy kicks, but never overpowering and usually with interesting counterpoint flavors. The staff was attentive but not intrusive. The drinks looked good, but with a long drive ahead we decided to save those for another time. We look forward to our next visit to DC and Rasika!
Be the first to ReplyHighlight of Our Week in D.C.
We thought we were Indian food aficionados, but little did we know. This gem of dorestaurant taught us something about good Indian food. Service is exceptional in this Penn Quarter spot near Wooly Mammoth Theater if you are going for a show. Highlights: sweet potato samosa purses and Palak Chaat. Tandoori Chicken Tikka Masala melted in my mouth.
Be the first to ReplyNot as good as I thought
I had heard so much about Rasika that I wasn't impressed at all. For years, this was the Indian Restaurant I wanted to go and my kids did take us out to dinner during the holidays. Nothing did stand out except the Snapper which was really good. The appetizers and the entrees were okay. I think I am more impressed with the food from SpiceKraft. The staff of course are excellent . Suryansh was very helpful in softly hinting at dishes he thought we would like . Juan was very nice when he came to refill our glasses. The decor is excellent and a great place to enjoy a relaxed evening. Except that the food really did not impress me.
Be the first to ReplyDenied Dining in at the restaurant!
I usually leave reviews when dissatisfied about a service I received. We were visiting DC from out of state for our anniversary dinner, after a lot of circling around with a preschooler aged kid we were delighted to find a parking spot near this restaurant & rushed there with a lot of excitement but were shocked to have denied dining there saying kids under 8 are not allowed.Shame on them for being discriminatory towards young kids. If there were more options, I would have given them negative ratings for this disappointing experience.
Be the first to ReplyElevated Indian Food? YES please!!
I'm a fan. Such good food - traditional dishes with a twist. And the service is always great. In this visit, we opted for the tasting menu with black cod. We also got the Tawa Lobster... it was delicious. And so much tastier than scallops, which was the tawa griddle dish included in the tasting menu. We're a huge fan of the Palak Chaat. The entree items were good also... I love the smokiness of the dal. The Zucchini Corn Cashew meddley was okay. All desserts were delicious, and I think the cardamom ice cream was my favorite out of the four.
Be the first to ReplySuch a great meal!!
We dined here tonight prior to a โdusk tourโ - it was close to the United States Navy Memorial, where the tour was to start. We chose the restaurant due to proximity, but weโd come back here any time! Food was SOOOOO good. We had onion/sage naan, chicken tikka masala, and raita, and finished with the pumpkin cheesecake. Great service, excellent food.
Be the first to ReplyConsistently excellent food at West End location
6 of us had dinner at the West End location. We avoided meat and had a good assortment of seafood (halibut), vegetarian dishes (okra, cauliflower, dal), appetizers (sweet potato Samosas). Food was uniformly good. Cardamom ice cream was good, not great. They also offer a tasting menu for $75 ($68 veg option) that we didnโt try. Food is obviously not cheap but good quality, served in a nice space.

The food and service at Rasika are fantastic. On our most recent visit, we had dinner one night and lunch another day. The flavors are fantastic including the palak chaat, the crab appetizer and the chicken makhani. The service matches the food with friendliness and professionalism. I really cannot say enough good about this amazing restaurant!
