Range Life Livermore Reviews from The Last Year
Our son found this little gem and took us out for dinner
Our son found this little gem and took us out for dinner when he visited us over the 4th of July weekend. And it was such a wonderful experience. The cocktail was good. I had the lipstick but I prefer my son's. Not sure what it was but was with Gin. I think tender buttons? The appetizers were amazing especially the cheesy flatbread. Yummy! The entrees were great. Everything was just right. We made sure we save room for dessert as we read good things on the ice cream. And yes it was delicious!!! Will we come back? Yes!! Was it a bit pricey? Yes. No it is not an everyday or even every month treat. But I think it was worth it for a nice date night.
This place is Amazing! Staff were phenomenal.
Food was beyond unexplainable fantastic. Top 5 best restaurants I've ever been to. The ambiance was nice not loud. The female Bartender (sorry forgot her name) was so attentive! To anybody wanting a great meal farm to table this is your spot!
This place blew me away.
If you live remotely in the area you need to come as soon as possible. Beautiful interior, great service, and the food was just a flavor explosion in the best way possible. The passionfruit with cinnamon dessert is most likely the best ice cream I have ever tasted.
This was our third visit since the restaurant opened.
While many of our friends LOVE this place, my husband and I just don't get it. To us, for what it is, it's over priced and not worth our money. Keep in mind that we are not foodies so perhaps our palettes simply don't appreciate the artistry. Our experience has been consistent across the three visits. The menu changes seasonally and we've been during three different seasons. I've never had anything there that I had to have again.
My husband & I are Livermore locals & this was our first
My husband & I are Livermore locals & this was our first time coming to Range Life. My first impressions were that I loved the space & how cute it was. The staff were very friendly & we opted to sit at the bar since we didn't have reservations. The drinks & apps that my husband & I ordered were really good. They change the menu daily & all ingredients are locally and ethically sourced which is awesome. We loved our drinks & apps more than our mains but we definitely will be back to try more things!
6th visit and first after COVID.
We dined with friends who had never been. All the dishes were prepared well. Between the four of us we ordered three appetizers and five entrées as well as cocktails. We originally booked the patio as it was the last reservation ( you must have a reservation for prime times). The patio is not as appealing as the inside- definitely an area of improvement is needed. The cocktails were interesting and well balanced. The food here is always well-prepared. The bread is made on site and is an extra charge. If you love bread, don't miss out. The craft cocktails are a bit herbaceous for me. I feel the drink menu has changed over time. It is difficult to dine here without a reservation, at prime times, don't bother just walking in. A memorable dessert was the cream with honey comb, so simple yet incredible.
Came with friends to try out this new find.
Very glad we did. I ordered the pork chop, very flavorful, juicy, and cooked just right, best I had for a long time. The flat bread was sprinkled with cheese and other spice, so tasty and soft and melted in my mouth. Tried a piece of smoked chicken my friend ordered, very juicy and flavorful. The service was top notch. Overall I gave this place a A. Well done.
What a special gem.
I don't think there's anything else quite like this in Livermore. If you're looking for a nice dinner out, I definitely recommend this place. It's like a little taste of the city here in your back yard. The service is friendly, the vibes are cool and trendy, and the food is always amazing. Everything tastes super fresh and you can see all the effort put into every dish. It's on the pricier side, but it's worth it. The menu seems to be always be seasonal and is always slightly changing week to week, which I think just goes to show how they work with fresh ingredients.
We came for a post Mother's Day weeknight celebration.
Food was absolutely wonderful, and big portions! We had the scamorza cheese fritto, which was what mozzarella sticks and marinara want to be when they grow up haha. The batter was light and crunchy, and the cheese was magically melty without being piping hot. We also had the rabbit sausage, which was delicious and juicy, but with the spices I couldn't distinguish that it wasn't pork. We got the halibut, pork chop, and steak. All tasted great, and were well complimented with their sauces and sides. If you're on a keto diet, the pork chop seemed perfect, only sweetness was from sour cherries, and the sides were a cheesy greens blanket. The fava bean seemed to be highlighted in tonight's menu, we had it in the risotto accompanying the halibut, and quite liked it! And now onto the drinks! We had a few cocktails, the non alcoholic buckthorn spritz - all had some fun and thoughtful mixology behind it. The most interesting was a bright green "under trees" with green pea. It was earthy and vegetably - not everyone's cup of tea - but I quite liked it! We finished off with tea and for dessert a coconut cinnamon sorbet, which was reminiscent of frozen horchata. My family loved it and looks forward to coming again and exploring the seasonal menu items! Definitely a gem in downtown Livermore!
We have been here a few times, and it never disappoints.
Food is excellent. The drinks are even better, the juices for the cocktails are made in house. Highly recommend!
I recently dined at a restaurant in Livermore, and it was
I recently dined at a restaurant in Livermore, and it was an amazing experience. We sat out on the back patio, where they offer blankets at the tables, which was a nice touch. Server requested all of our food to be ordered at once. It came out in a timely manner which was appreciated; it kept our table from being overly full. We indulged in two starters, two appetizers, two entrées, and two desserts, allowing us to sample a variety of their offerings. Although everything tasted high-quality, the pork chop was a bit disappointing. It had a diner-like quality and pretty dry, Sauce on the side was almost like franks hot sauce. I would not order this again. However, apart from that, I have no other complaints. This place is fantastic and definitely worth trying. Their cocktails were great, and I highly recommend their cab franc.
The food was amazing! We had Wingen bread with salted
The food was amazing! We had Wingen bread with salted butter, was delicious and freshly baked. We had the Beef Tartare, OMG it was so delicious, first time we ever have had it! Definitely a must have! For our entree we ordered the Buttermilk Fried Chicken! This was the best fried chicken I've ever had! It was so crispy and moist and juicy! Last but not least, we had Milk and Honey for dessert! Would have never known that olive oil would taste so delicious with malted ice cream and burnt honeycomb! Our meal was amazingly delicious! The staff were all very friendly and the service was EXCELLENT! The staff always came to check on you and our glasses were never empty! The Ambiance was very pleasant! We will definitely be coming back again!
Been here every time I visit my son.
About 7 times. Don't know what was going on this visit on a Monday night. We sat at our table for 15 minutes before anyone came up to ask for a drink or food order. Then everything was rather curt with the service. The food also was not as good as previous visits. Overall disappointing.
My husband and I went to dinner at Range Life while on
My husband and I went to dinner at Range Life while on vacation in California. We went here two years ago and loved it the first time around. Range Life is a small restaurant that serves elevated California-style food. We started out with cocktails. I had the Fantastic Voyage, which is a mezcal grapefruit drink with guava, pomegranate and a sprinkling of cinnamon on top. Oh my!!! My husband had the Atlas, a bourbon drink. I started out with the oyster appetizer. Yum! I could've eaten a dozen of those fresh juicy oysters. They slipped down my throat way too easily. So good! My husband had the warm panzanella asparagus salad, and I had the Caesar salad. Panzanella salad is a Tuscan-type salad with bread. It was creative and tasty and my husband enjoyed it. My Caesar salad was so overdressed and had so much cheese that it was off-putting. My bad as I forgot to ask for the dressing on the side like I usually do. I didn't finish it because it was too much. It would have been perfect with less dressing and cheese as the dressing was good. My husband ordered the pork chop milanese that had a panko crust for his entree. He ate that whole thing and it was huge, so I'm pretty sure he liked it. I had the beef tartare appetizer for my entrée. We had shared this appetizer two years ago, and I absolutely loved it so I had to order it again all for myself. The sirloin steak was tender and flavorful and the bread was grilled perfectly. The best! Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience, and we had the nicest server with the coolest name, Lucky. She was great! Make sure to make reservations as this is a very small restaurant and popular.
Went to Range Life on my last trip to California and came back again so that says it all!

Service was very attentive.
Back porch was very nice, it was slightly chilly but the wait staff supplied a heater. Food was wonderful. We had the oyster and Caesar Salad as starters. Hog Island oyster were very fresh and delicious. As the main entree we had the halibut and skirt steak. The halibut hasd a very crusty outside and the fish was cooked perfectly, the sauce was very good as well. The skirt steak was cooked to a perfect medium rare and was scrumptious.
Will not go back
I went for my birthday and totally ruined my night. I had 7pm reservations and did not get seated until 7:40 which I thought was ridiculous..,my family thought I shouldn’t express my displeasure but I feel for a”Michelin guided restaurant they should manage their tables/reservations better…I’ve been to many nice restaurants before and I didn’t find this to be acceptable, i will not go back and i will tell everyone I know not to go, there are plenty of restaurants out there as good and better service!

I believe this site to be a fraud. I paid $158 to get a reservation. Now they want my SS # and other private details in order to supposedly repay me.
