I miss Racines.
But I did not like that at every gathering here someone in the group would inevitably bring some wine snob who will then become the center of attention at dinner. I would choose instead to focus entirely on the food and the wine, which worked well since the dishes Diego Moya was turning out were pretty much impeccable. How did we lose Racines?

So happy they survived! Four of us had an absolutely great dinner, small menu with something for everyone and everything is right on. Incredibly fresh ingredients combined with creative preparations, eg we had tile fish grilled in corn husks with the corn kernels prepared as an accompaniment. Wow!The sommelier, Pasqualine continues to bring out treasures of wines you won't find in your regular wine shop. Tell her what you like and she'll please your palate. We have been following her for a decade and it always has been a special treat. Above all the wine list is sensibly priced.

We came with a group of four and let our server and the chef create a tasting for us. The food was so good, at different points we were either groaning, or tearing up, or giggling. Our brains just had no idea how to handle it.I knew we were in for something when one of the dishes was just "celery" because if you can make celery taste good, you are on another level (and it was incredibly good).Don't miss it.

Racines is the type of restaurant we enjoy dining in -- everything was approachable, yet opinionated & masterfully interpreted. We enjoyed every dish (gem lettuce, scallops, steak tartare, duck break, and the heirloom barley with smoked yogurt). Thanks Ellis for helping us with the food recommendations and wine pairings. The whole staff was honestly so attentive and dedicated to making sure we had an amazing experience.

This restaurant has really grown a lot since I was last here. The food is delicious and always so creative/inspired. Every bite literally made me smile. Also the wine list is amazing. I love to order my food and let the somm pair my meal with a bottle of her choice. This is one of the only restaurants I've been to that the somm can actually pair a bottle with my meal and have it never clashes with a dish but instead enhances it.

I've been to Racines a few times now, and each time gets better than the last. My first time here was a couple of years ago when there was a wine dinner exploring Loire Valley wines (hah remember when large group dinners were a thing?), but most recently I had a sampling of small plates and wines. The waitstaff here is knowledgeable about their wine, as I would expect. I had selected a few dishes (scallops with kiwi and cucumber, turnip with bergamot and fermented peppers, the caraflex cabbage with hazelnut and golden raisin, the duck breast with sunchoke and khawdry date, and the comte with a sunflower thyme spread) and asked the server to select wines to pair with those dishes. The server also offered the option of half-pours (at no extra cost), which we didn't know was available. What an excellent option!The wine pairings were beyond. The menu has since changed, so I can't tell you what to get, but know that you'll have a fabulous experience here. The cabbage and the duck breast were excellent and worth it. The comte was also great - it was served at a temperature that meant the cheese was just slightly soft and its flavors and aromas were able to flourish in our palates. It's a bit of a pricey place (it came up to about $100 apiece for the dishes above and with three half-pours) but worth every penny.Definitely make a reservation and stop by!

Racines is back and the food is outstanding along with their list full of special wines. Pascaline and team gave us great service, we chose the wines and they chose the food dishes to accompany the wines. Too bad Cuomo kicked us out at 11... we could've kept going!

Impressive and immersive, undoubtedly, but you're in very good hands here. Everywhen and everywhere it's apparent that the concept is equal parts venerable yet approachable. Extensive and comprehensive, assuredly, but also very much accessible and comfortable. I know I'm repeating myself but I want to make sure readers of this review don't make the same mistake I did; there's no need to be afraid of this "Bistro-Bar À Vin" in Tribeca. Those times are long gone. Admittedly, abundance and decadence are built into the infrastructure, but it's all done in service of the myriad extraordinary ingredients.

I felt the same way last time I dined at the restaurant, but somehow, I forgot to visit again. Not next time! As simple as it sounds, the grilled cabbage was AMAZING. Everything else that came out was phenomenal as well. I'd recommend sitting at the chef's counter so you can see all the food that's coming out.
