Better than ever
We have dined at the Pipe and Glass numerous times over many years and have always had a lovely meal . However, today was exceptional . I would never normally choose a Sunday roast but it was the best I have ever had . The beef was beautifully tender and tasty with a huge Yorkshire pudding , the veggies and duck roasties gorgeous and the cauliflower cheese was to die for . Husband had the halibut which he said was fantastic . Rounded off with the usual choice of baked chocolate sponge which was fab . Lovely service and a lovely treat . Thank you
Underwhelming for a Michelin starred restaurant
Was really looking forward to our visit for lunch on our way to North Yorkshire but left distinctly underwhelmed, especially given its Michelin star rating. It was a busy Friday lunchtime but staff were disorganised with no one individual in charge. We opted for a drink in the lounge but were then forgotten about. A member of staff promised to come back to us but forgot, so I eventually asked if we could be shown to our table, to be met with a look of surprise that we were there. Lovely looking starters but after an hour waiting for our main courses we had to ask if they would be much longer. I opted for a special (local sausages) which was no better than many gastropubs visited over the years. We skipped desert and coffee as by then it was 3.00pm and we couldn’t face another long wait. We were then over-charged for drinks, which reinforces their disorganisation. This was not a bad meal per se but a disappointing experience overall and one definitely not worthy of a Michelin starred restaurant. We had high hopes but left with a feeling of deflation. Perhaps they just had a bad day and judging by all the superlatives thrown at this place that may well be the case. However, it was not the level of service and food we expect from a stared restaurant and will not be rushing back.
Start of a North Yorkshire trip
We were recommended this restaurant and had high hopes. Absolutely stunning setting, fantastic large spacious car park and a very popular restaurant destination. Staff friendly, but disorganised, it did not appear anyone was in charge. A good menu choice with local produce. Service very slow nearly an hours wait between starters and main, we had to ask if our main course was still coming . Our meal was good, but not outstanding or spectacular that we were expecting. We skipped pudding and coffee as we did not want to wait another hour. Over charged on the bill. Not the Michelin service we were expecting. Will not be racing back.
Highly recommend, as always
Popped in with my 80-something dad for an impromptu evening meal while my husband was away. Didn’t book and so was thrilled they could accommodate us last minute, in the bar. Was a lovely, cosy ambience. Service excellent and friendly. We both opted for steak which was cooked to perfection and with the most amazing sauce. Lovely wine pairing. Highly recommend, as always. So lucky to have the Pipe and Glass on our doorstep

Another superb visit, they don't put a foot wrong as far as we are concerned. When I read the occasional bad review about his place I often wonder if the writer has mixed it up with another establishment. Anyway room wonderful, well presented and so quiet, slept really well, gardens look terrific, food amazing, as usual and the service is excellent. Guinea fowl starter is superb as is the main course lamb. Best poached eggs at breakfast I've had in a long time. Hope to return soon.
Amazing
Reading the disappointing reviews I’m quite frankly flabbergasted, this place is amazing. Being a Michelin the service is not stuffy but really friendly and on point. The food was delicious, my salmon starter was fresh and gorgeous! All of my party enjoyed everything. The espresso martinis perfectly complimented the sticky toffee dessert. The servers were exceptional, especially Marie, we loved her! We travelled quite far to visit here and it didn’t disappoint, can’t wait to come back! Thank you for a fab afternoon
We were disappointed on our latest visit.
This visit was a gift for our anniversary. We had been previously a few times and always been very impressed but this time we felt was below Michelin standard. When we have been previously we had always been greeted on arrival, either with a stand outside or being met at the door and offered tasting bits before being taken to our table. This time we had to ask at the bar and then had to go find someone (the person who took us to a seat we felt looked quite “scruffy” for Michelin staff) to mark us as arrived. We were served a drink and given the menu. The people sat near us were told that they had sold out of one item on the menu. We were eventually taken to our table, quite a while after our booked time. We ordered our meal (5 potatoes between 2 of us, which we thought an odd number and should at least been an even number as we both had the same meal). The food was really good as ever. We were sat next to the conservatory which we noticed there was a very large group that had staff walking round constantly being very attentive as they should in this standard of restaurant, but we felt that we were left for long periods, longer than normal. Three times my husband had to ask for an extra drink before he was brought this. We had gone for Sunday lunch and were still sat waiting for service as staff were finishing for the day and we had to listen to them shouting bye to each other, and other comments, quite loudly, whilst we were still waiting for said drink. Had we been told on booking that a large group had been booked in we would have chosen a different day. We have always enjoyed our visits but we will not be attending again as this has now spoilt our experience.
Delicious Sunday lunch
Fabulous, delicious food. The roast beef, Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes were amazing and the vegetables were lovely. The ice cream was delicious. The service was excellent and the restaurant was a really great experience. I see why you have a Mitchelin Star rating. Thank you for a memorable Sunday lunch. We will be back soon.

Excellent outstanding food
This was our third visit to Pipe & Glass, this time for my 50th birthday and I have to say it was the best yet ! From being welcomed at the door the customer service was excellent, very attentive, knowledgeable about the dishes and keeping our drinks topped up throughout our lunch, we could not fault it. Also the food was outstanding, every dish we ordered was just divine ! Highly recommended, it was just fantastic 👌
Underwhelmed by lack of service
Michelin it maybe but service was distinctly lacking. No greeting on arrival just menus dumped on the bar, find yourself a seat. Here some canapés, oh are there any allergies? Let me just walk your cqnapes back to the kitchen and let them go cold whilst I check what's in them. Once at the table ... Would you expect to pour your own wine in a Michelin establishment let alone any decent restaurant? Check back on starters non existent, good job the food tasted good. Mains were good, but again service lacking, lovely bottle of pinotage, left on the table for us to deal with ourselves. There was at least a check back this time but the most basic of closed questions from the service team, when you'd expect an open question to stimulate the interaction with your guests. Overall an extremely under whelming experience.
Fantastic anniversary lunch
We went to the Pipe & Glass for a silver wedding anniversary lunch and had a wonderful time. The staff were so pleasant and very efficient. The food was absolutely amazing. In fact we couldn’t fault any part of our dining experience. We will definitely be going back again and highly recommend it.
Excellent experience
Took my partner for an overnight stay & dining for his birthday…. The accommodation was excellent, large en-suite room , furnishings & fittings were beautiful… we had a warm welcome on arrival & helped with luggage to our room ….. The evening meal was amazing from starters through to dessert & the recommended wine complemented the meal well …. The service throughout was very good & the morning breakfast just finished the experience off with plenty of choice …..Would highly recommend …

Amazing service, outstanding food. Highly highly recommend!!! Ryan our server works so hard and made sure we have everything we needed and constantly checked we were happy. Our wine was poured for us as and when our glass was low. Ryan was impeccable and definitely a valued member of staff.
Great food and great place to eat
Been before and the food is just as good as last time. Really liked they’d added new seasonal dishes to the menu but client some of the classics like the stick toffee pudding
Insignificant
We often go to the Pipe and Glass, the food and service is always excellent. Unfortunately on this occasion the service was somewhat wanting. Maybe because it was a very busy Sunday Lunchtime. However, if Customers are neglected and have to wait while all around come and go and receive prompt service, their experience will be tarnished by that. - Very disappointing.
First timer review
Very nice restaurant with great quality food at very reasonable prices. Very warm welcome by the staff, drinks in the bar before we were lead to our table. Food came very quick and felt rather rushed by staff who were removing unused wine glasses in middle of our main course. Found this not very professional, staff attentive and keen for us to have more wine despite us telling previous waitress we didn’t need anymore. Overall a good experience.

We have been here a few times now and never fails to impress! Delicious food and impeccable service! Wonderful fine dining, can’t fault it!!!
Delicious food, great ambience
This is a lovely restaurant which offers a calm and enjoyable environment along with delicious food. Despite the relatively high price, we had a lovely meal and would definitely return for special occasions.
Amazing Mother's Day Lunch!
We are so incredibly lucky to live in close proximity to 'The Pipe And Glass' and are able to enjoy its fabulous hospitality on a very regular basis. Today we visited for a Mothers Day Sunday Lunch with two lovely friends. The food was, as always, simply outstanding. From the Waldorf Crab Tartlet, Salt Beef Hash Cake and Pate starters to the sublime Roast Beef and the Monkfish starter which we had as a main dish... it all was absolutely incredible. As always whilst the food is always amazing, equally the service from all the Pipe and Glass team is second to none. Thank you Pipe and Glass - we had a wonderful Mothers Day topped off with our wonderful complimentary Chocolate Truffle treats!

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
