Amazing service, from the minute we walked in the door, we were welcomed and greeted, and helped by one of the server who quickly came over to go behind the counter to get ready to help us. He recommended some great items from the menu. Loved the super casual vibe and excellent, delicious dishes. Also, the best taro tea I've ever had. It even had real taro bits and chunks. Highly recommended!

I usually love grabbing lunch/dinner here by myself and the service is always so kind, again usually! I came last night with my partner, and service was pretty standard except for one of the female servers who acted like my partner wasn't even there, con cara de mal cogida (you can look that up, but basically with the most unpleasant expression) which was strange seeing the way she was extremely friendly interacting with other guests, she only made eye contact and spoke to me but I'm more white passing than my partner. Regardless he had never been there before, and it was pretty annoying and embarrassing having her not greet him, make eye contact with him, etc. We got to sit, order, and once our food came he asked the same worker if he could have a fork, and just replied "suuure" as if it was a hassle to just do her job, and then never came back to us. I didn't think it was a big deal because I saw there were forks you could grab, which I didn't even realize either. It was like as soon as I stood up to walk over to the utensils she knew, and just watched me do it for myself on purpose, which again is interesting. We finished our food and had left overs, my partner again asked the same woman for a to go container. We continued talking at the table for another 15 minutes, very lucky the conversation was good otherwise I would have been even more annoyed, and as we're talking, the server and I are just now glancing at each other back and forth, as if we didn't just ask for a very quick, easy request that would have taken 5 seconds. It's like, what is this..? How old are you? Again, she never came back to the table and instead checked on every other table (not once did anyone check on our food, how we were doing), hugging guests, laughing with coworkers. That's all fine, but it's just ridiculous when there is an obvious gap in the service you are receiving compared to quite literally the entire room. At last, she was standing right in front of the to go containers talking with her coworker not doing anything, taking peeks at me to see if I was still staring at her, and yes I was, because I literally asked for something? Was I supposed to jump over the counter and grab it myself? Finally I got up to ask her again myself, and when I did I commented "yeah she said she was going to get it" and with her back turned to me replied "yeah sorry about thattttt". Absolutely ridiculous, I replied "twice, thank you" referring to failing to give us the help that *she* offered, twice. I walked away and as I packed my left overs, she and her coworker are obviously talking about what was said and why it was said, and all that tells me is that I was right, there was a very one sided passive aggressive-ness from the other party that I really can't be bothered to understand. Just why even offer the help if you don't mean it, my partner and I both work in food service and I would/have never treated guests like they were inconveniencing me at my *JOB* I don't want to make assumptions, all I will say is that when you're getting that kind of crappy service from a white person while they're perfectly capable of being kind and welcoming to everyone else except us and we're not white, it just looks bad no matter how you try to understand it. Whatever it was, it was weird and unnecessary. Didn't get her name but again ABSOLUTELY ridiculous, she's white, has brunette hair, im assuming she works nights, and wore a claw clip. Have the day you deserve!

In terms of Asian food in this area, it's a solid 4+, but being real, it's so-so. Still, I eat here all the time--usually delivery, to be fair. The food does hit the spot. However, it's more trendy than homey, and as a result some dishes are much better than others. The beef rolls and pan-fried pork buns are my favorites, in general and from this menu specifically; whereas the beef noodle soup misses a homier touch. The broth doesn't have much richness, and the beef can be tough. The shrimp wontons are also pretty hit or miss, sometimes bland and mushy, other times delicious. I do like their various rice dishes as well, but again, they don't have much homey warmth or complexity. I will say the dandan noodles get rave reviews from everyone I eat here with. However, dandan noodles aren't my jam personally. While this isn't quite a rave review, I do return here over and over, so that says something.

3.5 stars...I think I had quite high expectations seeing as it had earned a bib gourmand. I think the prices were reasonable, $12 Dan Dan noodles, $15 pork buns. Dan Dan noodles were good, but could use a bit more flavor/salt. Good peanut sauce and the thickness of the generous sauce went well with the noodles. However it doesn't hold a candle to the dan Dan at dough zone or the magic noodle in Las Vegas. The pork bun here was quite disappointing. Extremely thick doughy bun, pork was not flavorful...had to douse it in black vinegar and soy sauce. Very clean place and friendly staff.

Wow! Came with a friend from Taiwan who made our food and beverage selections. He ordered seven dishes for us to share. Food was authentic Taiwanese cuisine and every dish was great. I wish I could pick a favorite, but from the starters to the soup to the main dishes, absolutely no disappointment. Service was just as good. Attentive and helpful. Seating and the ambiance were also great. Bottom line: awesome food and service. Highly recommend

this place is so consistently good & affordable i'm convinced this is one of the best asian restaurants in LA. the shrimp wontons have me in a chokehold. i love the fresh apps like the wood-ear mushrooms & the cabbage salad. the eggplant dish is *chef's kiss* always & the beef roll is amazing. i don't even eat meat but trying that roll was worth it lemme tell ya. GREAT wine selection. tea service is amazing. 10/10 vibes & all.

damn, this place pops off! I ordered the wonton soup and the minced pork dish, and I must say, i'm incredibly impressed. these flavors are deff doing something to my spirit lol the only thing I ordered that tastes a little different than usual is the taro boba. I would like it to be a tiny bit sweeter, but other than that, it's still really good! will absolutely be ordering this again!

Dan noodles and ear mushroom were tasty! I would come here again! I came on a weekday and it wasn't busy. I would definitely come here again!
Be the first to ReplyDined here December 1st, 2023 for dinner.
Terrible service. Very rude staff. Not friendly to families. The food was good, but not great. I wouldn't come back.

Be the first to ReplyVery good service and good quality food.
I will be coming back here again in the future.
Be the first to ReplyThe ambiance is cute, service is great, but the food.
.. I didn't dig it. It's definitely more fusion-y and not too authentic. It's americanized Taiwanese. If you are into that, go for it. Dan Dan Noodles were bland and too peanut-y. There is no trace of Szechuan peppers. The texture of the noodles were good. Basil eggplant was good but also needed more spice. On the sweeter side. Was my favorite dish out of all. Pork buns - these I was glad they were more fusion. I loved that there was less dough. Very thin dough on the outside.Jidori chicken - confused by what ethnicity this dish was. Pretty lackluster... Just very sweet and I could smell the chicken-y smell. Mapo tofu.. also pretty bland...Scallion pancakes - they are very thick - could work on making these thinner and crispier. Beef rolls - they were alright. The thickness of the pancake was better on this one than the scallion pancakes Portion sizes were great for sharing but overall - I did not enjoy the food so much. Please don't be that super white Taiwanese joint. Americans need the spice. It's good for our guts and gut biome, lol.
Be the first to ReplyMy girlfriend and I were so excited to try this place.
I had picked up from here often while side-hustling as an Uber Eats driver. Every time I came, the line was always out the door. The place is never not packed. All weekend we talked about how excited we were to eat.The food came quick and we were so eager to try! Until...We concluded how one-note and flavorless everything tasted. First came the three cup Jidori chicken. Zero flavor and completely unimpressive. What was especially sad was the Dan Dan Noodles. Everyone says you HAVE to try it. Don't! They're totally missing something. Maybe... taste? The pork potstickers were the worst. Oddly sized and poorly cooked; their bottom's were as hard as crackers. One saving grace was the Mapo Tofu... it was fine. Not to mention we waited an hour in line just to spend another 30 minutes standing inside. My girlfriend's Taiwanese and she HATED it. I thought it was ok.I've never left a Yelp review but since this place was so acclaimed yet so underwhelming, I had to come on here and spread the word.
Be the first to ReplyThe restaurant had a nice ambience.
I ordered the Wonton Noodle Soup, the broth and noodles were amazing but the stuffing inside the wontons was a bit lacking compared to how authentic Chinese wontons are usually made.
Be the first to ReplyI've ordered to go a few times and the food is consistent.
Their boba is soft and the green milk tea is not too sweet. Like their Dan Dan noodles. For sides, wood ear and lotus root are my picks.
Be the first to ReplyClean food.
Interesting flavors, even something simple as peanuts are bought to another level. Always a line, with good reason so I bring mine home haha.
Be the first to ReplyFriendly team, great service and delicious food.
We have had take out many times and this was our first time eating in the restaurant. We'll be back
Be the first to ReplyPerfect menu for quick, light and delicious food.
Very friendly and effective work. Lots of energy and hard work helpful stuffs. Amazing energy flow through with calmness. Nice airy dinning inside and out. Connecting between relaxation of nature scenery outside and food on the table. Good location.
Be the first to ReplyGreat food and service.
Reasonably priced. I also recommend their sister restaurant, Joy.
