Pier W Lakewood Reviews
The food here was very delicious.
I really enjoyed the lobster bisque and the braised short rib. The service was also fabulous. Our waiter wanted to make sure we had a great experience. Also, very pretty place that overlooks the water - great ambiance with a live piano player.
Went to the Sunday brunch for the first time.
It was great. The food was top line and very tasty . I can't comment on the value because my son and his wife treated me. Highly recommend.
Ambiance was great, food excellent, waitstaff decent.
They used to change the menu a bit more often but haven't changed it in a while. Usually have some special so that's good.

I dine at Pier W once in every couple of years and it's always a really good experience. The only downside I would say is the interior needs a renovation. The staff is always very friendly and helpful. Timing and food preparation is always top notch. Pier W has some of the best seafood in the city and you won't go away disappointed. Try out their Short Rib pierogies and lobster bisque as they are some of the best appetizers you may ever taste.
Went here for lunch with my mom and sister.
Chloe was absolutely amazing and the food was 10/10
Very pricey, small portions, and fairly average food.
Decor is dated. Staff certainly knows how to sell it, but it just not as good as the hype. I will never understand why any chef would think tiny apple cubes in a salad is a good idea.

The view here is fantastic if you're lucky enough to get a table overlooking Lake Erie. Our waiter Nicholas was friendly, knowledgeable, engaging and relatable. He guided us through the specials, appetizers, the wine and cocktail options well. Seafood bouillabaisse was fantastic as was an autumn salad of lettuce, apples, arugula, cranberries and a creamy Champaign dressing. The special, Halibut with sides of a mixed slaw and red quince was tasty. Excellently prepared, moist, flaky fish. We had a cherry chocolate torte and light chocolate mousse inside a cookie "cup" was delicious. We had cocktails and a glass of port with dessert. Dinner for two was $200. Service was excellent. We'll be back.
Love love love the lobster bisque.
Amazing wine list! I always get the cedar plank salmon (I've been here maybe 3 times). Got a gf chocolate dessert to go once - so good!!! :) My husband got a smoked rice ahi tuna dish the first time he went here -- do NOT recommend; the smoky flavor in the rice was not good at all; it was way too much and fake tasting. If you don't order this, everything else on the menu is fair game :)
Food, service, views, and music are always excellent.
I've never met a menu item at Pier W I didn't thoroughly enjoy. Only down side is that many people seem to feel the same, so we always make reservations about 1-2 months in advance.

Poor service, felt RUSHED,uncooked Mahi-Mahi,been a loyal customer for over 40 years, has gone down hill in the last year or so...
Scallops were divine, view was amazing.
Definitely will be back! Service equally as good.

Always great food my favorite for years! Service is also always quick short rib is the best!
We had a 15-person birthday dinner last week.
Everyone remarked at the high level of service, the beautiful views, and the fabulous meal. The GM was super responsive and helpful with the planning. What a fun night! Highly recommend!
Meh dining, nice bar
After many years of dining at Pier W for our special occasions we've been quite disappointed with the service in the dining area. The food also is nothing special for the price that they're asking. We do like the bar and now just go for an appetizer and a drink or two. Service in that area is still top notch. The last time we were there, the young man outside the entrance that was doing, I assume, valet service? was slumped over his podium engrossed in his cell phone when we came in and when we left 2 hours later. He never acknowledged or was aware that we existed. Do not recommend this failing restaurant any longer to friends.
The service, food and ambiance was amazing.
Can't beat looking at the city skyline while enjoying a great meal. The hot butter cake was delectable! We also liked the crab cakes, surf and surf and market fish of the day, fluke.
Over Priced Scotch, Nothing Special Here
We went for a birthday dinner while in Cleveland. The photos of the restaurant looked lovely. We were surprised how old and worn it looked when we got there. I am guessing from the 1980's without any kind of refurbishment since then. We had drinks at the bar. My husband's 12 year old Glenlivet scotch was $22.95!. It was $15.00 at the Marble Room a couple of days before. The Marble Room has a much better atmosphere, bartenders, vibe, and beautiful room. So that was a rip-off at this bedraggled restaurant. Our dinner was OK nothing WOW about it, service was adequate. After we finished our dinner we walked around the dining room and saw another large room with large windows facing the water. It sure would have been nice to have been seated in that room for the birthday dinner instead of by the bar. In hindsight we should have stayed closer to our hotel The Ritz Carlton. This was a longer uber ride than I anticipated. There was nothing special about this restaurant. Food, service, atmosphere all average and way overpriced scotch. Not recommended by us.
A great place for a special occasion dinner for sure .
Or a " let's go somewhere nice" They're usually busy or at least steady everyday. And if you can be patient you will be or at least feel rewarded. The waiters sometimes make yo feel a little pressed for your orders , but overall... I like it. And recommend it.

My wife enjoyed a romantic evening out in our much anticipated first visit to Pier W. One of the most elegant dining experiences in Cleveland and I recommend making this a destination. We were there after sunset but enjoyed being able to view the skyline and dark lake in this intimate setting. Our highlight was Oysters as a starter with awesome Mango sauce. Our waitress, Alexa was great - keeping up with us while giving us space to be alone and enjoy a quiet evening. We finished our meal indulging in Mocha Cake which was devoured quickly. Glad we made the trip up and reminded us to get back to Lakewood when the weather is a bit warmer to explore the area on foot.
Great Food, amazing service, and ambiance spectacular.
It's is a beautiful place to see the lake and city

Pier W has good food but you pay for the view as much as you pay for the food. This is a restaurant that was probably the nicest spot in Cleveland in the 90s. There are better opinions now but Pier W is still a good restaurant
The pierogis and and bisque were okay.
The lobster pasta was much better but limited quantity at a high price point. Ambiance is nice with the pianist. Service is not up to par as the server seemed a bit flustered and slow with requests
Have been going for decades and the food never disappointed.
A few times in recent years the service nor the food wasn't as great as before, however those were blips on overall experience.Views are spectacular.
Good food.
Try the salmon BLT and the planked salmon. You can usually get a seat at the bar during lunch time
Pier W top 5 in Cleveland
Celebrated our anniversary with another couple who are good friends. Seated promptly, our waitress was prompt and friendly. This was our 3rd. visit to Pier W over the years and have never been disappointed!! We all enjoyed our meals, Salmon, Walleye, Scallops, Halibut, all tasted excellent. Outstanding views of Downtown & Lake Erie. IMO top 5 in Cleveland. Well done
Great food - Horrid service
Went for Sunday brunch today with another couple to celebrate a recent wedding. The service from our server was the absolute worse service weโve ever had - anywhere. Iโve had better service at Applebees. We tried to flag down who I believe was the manager (the man with the bow tie and ear piece) twice and he had no desire to interact with us. We were there a couple weeks ago for dinner on a Friday and had fantastic service from a different server โ Nicholas. Heโs the only reason weโd consider giving Pier W another try - but it will be quite a while.
Definitely Top-3 in Cleveland
We were invited to join some out-of-town friends here for dinner and I was excited to go since I had heard so much about Pier W. The experience was wonderful from beginning to end. Service was impeccable. The food fantastic! The setting nearly unmatchable--right on Lake Erie, almost like being on a boat. The atmosphere (piano player was perfect) was just right. We do not eat shellfish, but there were still lots of options on the menu. Desserts and drinks did not dissapoint either. This is a go-to place for special occasions, or when you want to impress!
