Excellent food and service in this tiny restaurant - definitely think about booking
Groups of 7 must be challenge for restaurants of any stripe. When the dining room probably seats no more than 25 inside, it makes it all the more so. There is outside seating but the weather, despite the heaters, made that less than appealing. Fortunately, the service from Victor, and the food were first class and despite the smallness of the dining area, we were not rushed off our table(s) which I always greatly appreciate. When I see arancini on the menu, I can never resist it and this restaurant delivered a very fine example indeed. We actually ordered 3 (each has 2 balls) and they added one so that we all had a taste. Really an excellent example of this dish that is very challenging to make at home. I am also something of a sucker for gnocchi but it can be bland so I sometimes order it with some trepidation. I needn't have had any concern here because the sauce and the texture of the gnocchi themselves were delicious. The sauce was a ragu with delightfully tender meat within. I was very pleased with what I ordered. For such a small place, one would expect it to be loud and it is certainly bustling, but not too noisy for across table conversations. The tiny kitchen is at the end of the room, fully visible and it is fun to see them work although I don't know how they produce such dishes in a space this cramped. It is a wonderful Italian restaurant, with attentive, friendly and light hearted service (ask your server for recommendations) and I will definitely return when I am in Soho again and thinking about Italian food. Can't comment directly on the value since I wasn't the one grabbing the bill this particular time, but from the menu it seemed that it was definitely worth it.

We ate here after reading the reviews on trip advisor and we were really impressed. The place itself is quite small and cosy inside. My partner and I both had the beef ragu which we tailored to which pasta we liked. Food very tasty. Would recommend.

Last night I had dinner at the Osteria with my son. We ordered a Caesar salad which was pretty good and a pasta (prawn, burrata and tomato). We were served in less than ten minutes after ordering and so were the 4 tables around us. This was very surprising and already a bit suspicious that the food was not freshly cooked. And sure enough the pasta was pre-cooked and microwaved. The one prawn was so old that it was dry and uneatable. The pasta was hard and the sauce seemed to be the same for every pasta dish around us. Very disappointing. I read another review about how all they focus on is turning tables and that seemed to be the case. They try to squeeze as many people as possible in a very small space. The tables are so small that you could not fit two normal plates, let alone the food, bread, water and drinks. So upsetting that I did not get to enjoy a nice dinner with my son. Will definitely never eat there again.

The service was excellent and the food delicious. We went for lunch and they have special prices for lunch. We shared the fried sardines, which we had so many times in Sicily. The tagliatelle verdi with boar ragu and a touch of truffle was absolutely scrumptious. The fusilloni with scampi in a light tomatoe sauce with burrata, made this dish creamy and delicious. The portions are large and needless to say, we were stuffed when we left. Will definitely go back.

You must try this place! The food was just fantastic! Everyone was so attentive I was in NYC for a short visit, and everyone made my evening feel so special.

My friend and I are unsure as to why there are so many great reviews and we think that the restaurant is well rated because it’s expensive and people fool their taste buds into thinking this place actually serves yummy food. We do appreciate the prosciutto as it was very fresh, and the drinks were good. Unfortunately the food lacked in many categories. The dessert was no better. Plus it is very expensive given what the food tastes like. The employees were extremely kind and very attentive. The pictures is of tiramisu which unfortunately tasted like cardboard soaked in coffee.

You come to NYC and you want to get authentic Italian, right? It can be overwhelming with all of the options but don't look any further than Piccola Cucina. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu nor any of their locations. Just sit down, pop open some wine and enjoy the food!

This little joint is both quaint and excellent. Service is top notch, food is great! I ordered the Lobster Linguini… and wow, I would return just for that. 5/5

AMAZING! We had a long day walking around SOHO and Piccola Cucina Was definitely on our dinner plans, with out a reservation we stopped by and were lucky to get a table. The staff was extremely friendly and the food espectacular but what totally made the difference was Maria our waiter, she was so warm and thoughtful giving us her recommendations and a great time sharing stories from her hometown Sevilla!!
Maria! You’re the best!

Disappointed - Piccola indeed!
The food was OK, but nothing extraordinary, really.
We ordered bruschetta to share and it was not that tasty. A bit dry, not flavorful at all. Just seemed like raw tomatoes without any seasoning on toast.
I ordered a pasta with shrimp. The sauce was good, but it was hard to taste the shrimp - this was the large, Italian shrimp (scampi). They served the shell on the dish for no reason at all except for the visual effect. I thought it was not effective and in fact, it was a nuisance having to deal with it.
I was not happy with the fact that they would not allow us to wait for the other two people in our party inside. It was very cold and raining, and there was no reason for that whatsoever since they were all without masks in the restaurant anyway. NYC still had a mask mandate when we were there and also all restaurants were supposed to ask for proof of vaccination, which they did not.
No one in the kitchen was wearing a mask either! I was shocked and very uncomfortable by that. The wait staff (except for one young woman) would wear their masks below their noses and when talking to us at the table lower their masks all together! Why bother then??
The place is very tiny and the tables were very close together too.
beyond amazing!
this place is one of the best!! they truly focus on the details and flavors. the service tops the food. the manager Erica and our waiter Marlin as well as the staff were beyond words can explain. it was definitely one of our one places to come back to and one to remember. would 101% recommend, do not miss this one!!

Fabulous food! We started with a bruschetta, and then I had the bucatini with sardines. That was really fabulous. My wife had a pasta with scampi and rucola which was amazing. Excellent service. The place is very small and it was very crowded and very noisy.
