Parc Philadelphia Reviews
Love this place, and the other Starr restaurants.
Had the French Onion Soup (great), the tomato salad (super great and huge). Great ambiance, great service, wonderful and meticulous detail throughout. Only complaint: they upcharged us for speciality liquor without asking. We ordered Manhattans/Boulevardiers and were charged for premium (call) bourbon (Bulleit) which we didn't request. I've been a waitress and I get it: the higher the bill, the bigger the tip, but still... When I questioned the waitress at the end of the meal she apologized, said it was her fault, etc. It was such a nice experience, it really didn't matter. We will go back any chance we get. Thank you.
Pretty good.
Service was phenomenal and the food was as expected. As an avid Star fan, this one just left something to be desired. The lighting was bright and the bar was packed with young people who were screaming and wearing street clothes. In comparison to other similar Star spots, this one was just a little less special for the price tag.
Excellent
Outstanding location, food and professional service. It is a must try when you are Philadelphia. Nice outdoor tables too.
A solid French restaurant in Philadelphia.
I recently went here for a weekend brunch with four friends and had a good experience. As we didn't have a reservation, we had to wait but were still seated faster than anticipated. We received good service throughout our meal and the ambiance was delightful-set up like a classic French Bistro. We received complimentary bread with butter, which was hearty and delicious. We shared the pastry basket, which was fine. I got an egg, cheese, and avocado sandwich on a croissant, which was also good but needed some hot sauce for additional flavor.
I can't say enough about this fantastic restaurant.
This was our first time dining at Parc. It's like my wife and I stepped into the streets of France on a Friday evening and had an amazing date. The food was just glorious from the apps including the French onion soup to the escargot and the entrees highlight was the bouillabaisse special - it was the Friday night entree special and was bread dipping delicious. The desserts were amazing (picture included). The service was possibly even better than the food and our waitress Danielle spent plenty of time with us and explained everything on the menu and answered all of our questions with ease. The manager Robert - I can't say enough about him - he checked in on us many times and was so above and beyond in his kindness and accommodating nature. Thanks Danielle and Robert! This has now officially become one of our absolute favorite restaurants, and we will dine here often.

We had the following: 0) Bread - Parc provided sour dough, multigrain raisin, and white bread roll. Sour dough was excellent and probably best that we had in a while. Multigrain raisin bread was also very good. 1) Onion Soup Gratinee - This was unfortunately the biggest disappointment. The soup had good flavor but it was salty.... 2) Grilled Chicken Sandwich - Parc did a good job with the sandwich and fries were good. 3) Beet Salad - Parc did a good job with this salad. The included beets were good and good blend of dressing for the leafy part of the salad. 4) Beef Bourguignon - The dish was excellent. Sauce was excellent with good flavor and beef was tender but a little dry 5) Steak Frites - The Ribeye was cooked perfectly per our request with great flavor but a bit salty. The fries was also good. Parc has great atmosphere of a classy old style restaurant. Staffs were extremely friendly. All-in-all, I would go back again And give it another try.

An iconic establishment with a bustling interior and attentive waiters. You can never go wrong with drinks and oysters at Parc. For the price, you can definitely find higher quality oysters elsewhere in the city, but Parc is a must visit for everyone.
Great lunch
My sister and I visited Parc for lunch while in the city for a museum tour. It was a beautiful day so we sat outside at the Parisian style tables, where we had a great view of Rittenhouse Square. We had the quiche and the roast beef sandwich and both our meals were delicious. The service was excellent and we had a wonderful experience.
Really cute vintage interior and very lively atmosphere.
The surface was quick and friendly. The food was really good! And delicious complimentary bread with butter!Highly recommend!

Finally tried the lamb and it was fantastic - falvorful, tender, and juicy! This was my first time back since pre-COVID and it is livelier than ever with great execution of the classics. If you are in a mood for pasta, don't skip on the spaghetti bolognese, which is robust with just the right amount of creaminess. Definitely worth a stop!
No big Deal
Having been to Parc the last time I was in Philly, I looked forward to a repeat visit. I found the restaurant to be ear splittingly noisy and over priced. There we friends, we each ordered a different meal for dinner, and none of us was particularly pleased with what we ordered. I was quite disappointed after ordering an add on vegetable for my meal to see what was listed on the menu as hericot verts to be merely garden variety string beans. I expected a restaurant of this caliber to do better than that.
Was stuck in Philly for a layover.
This was the best decision I could've possibly made I had their Merlot, a vodka based cocktail and tomato tart. It was a perfect place to get some relief from the heat. They let me use their WiFi and do a little work. The staff was very kind. It's also very centrally located! Definitely a solid choice!

Parc is located at 227 S 18th St, on the edge of Rittenhouse Square. Stephen Starr's iconic addition to the Philadelphia dining scene since 2008, brings the charm of a French cafe straight to the city of brotherly love. It's a spot I've been wanting to try for a while and I'm glad I finally did. Totally worth the wait! From the ambiance to the food, everything feels thoughtfully curated. Service is on point, both friendly and attentive. Whether you're seated indoors or enjoying the bustle of Rittenhouse from their outdoor tables, the experience is classic and warm. I tried a few items and will definitely be back ASAP! GAZPACHO - TOMATOES, GREEN PEPPER, CUCUMBER, RYE BOULE CRISPY ARTICHOKES - SERVED WITH LEMON AND GARLIC AIOLI TOMATO SALAD - HEIRLOOM TOMATOES, PICKLED RED ONION, BASIL
A great all round choice. That pleases all
Dropped by for brunch on our second day in Philly, the service was fast and friendly the menu full of interesting dishes as well as the classics. The chicken liver parfait was superb but homemade bread was the best I have eaten for a long time. The mains and sides were all good the crab and avocado appetiser was a great choice . Overall a really great place to go where you could spend a short amount of tea and a small'ish amount of money or a long time and a larger amount. The design is truly french bistro and for any British guests it reminds you of cafe rouge chain.
Perfect brasserie
If I were a local, I would eat here five times a week, no doubt. Each dish was perfectly executed, the bread basket was delicious and generous, and the service was outstanding.
Location is Great, Food is OK
The Parc Brasserie is located near a busy intersection of 18th Street and Rittenhouse Square. It is a great destination for a meal while visiting some of the attractions in the Central City, the Arts District or the Franklin Institute. The restaurant attracts a healthy mixture of locals and tourists and is busy during peak periods. We enjoyed the Crab and Avocado as a starter. The crab was cool and fresh and the avocado was perfectly ripe. The Mediterranean Sea Bass is very tasty with a delicious tapenade crust. The Steak au Poivre was average as it was a bit dry and overcooked. The ambience reminds me of the Palace Cafe in New Orleans with high ceilings and art deco fixtures. Although we enjoyed our meal, we found that most dishes were pretty overpriced for this market.
My #1 Favorite
I make a point to dine here each and every time I visit Philadelphia. The food, service and ambiance are simply perfect. Try the steak frites!
Really terrific...a must!
We chose this fine restaurant for our first visit (to see the Barnes) in nearly 20 years. Great atmosphere, very special help from Sergio and super-tasty bread. Started with mushroom and liver appetizers then trout and veal in a fabulous mushroom sauce. Large portions so no space for desert. A wonderful evening!
It nice enough , but Joe average for a French cafe/ Brassier
I do like this place, but really struggle with the front of house brigade of service staff who check seating, take your number, bring you water , bring you the menu , bring you bread and eventually take your order , but you've spoken to 8 people to get this far !! Its expensive , but nice food and of course its opposite the Square! C'est le vie !
Taste of France in Philadelphia
Our daughter's birthday pick (17) while travelling the state on spring break. She made the reservation weeks in advance (Must make reservation & they go fast). Picked Parc because of the Chef's James Beard status and menu options for her gluten free diet. We had appetizers, entrees & desserts. Sardines & steak tartare Rabbit, beef Bourguignon, & lamb shank Sorbet & chocolate mousse Hot chocolate, with & without Bailey's For those of you from Raleigh NC, Parc has the exact vibe of the recently darkened 42nd St. Oyster Bar. For those of you who have traveled to Paris--Parc will not disappoint and has the added benefit of friendly staff. Speaking of staff-- our server was excellent. Made for the job. Friendly, provided recommendations when we asked, told us about the daily house-made bread and 100% added to this highlight of our six-nights across PA.
A wonderful atmosphere but bland and disappointing food.
My partner and I came here for the first time for a birthday dinner. We were seated right next to a POS terminal which meant that our conservation was constantly interrupted by a waiter entering an order. This was despite there being plenty of other two seat tables around! Other than that, though, the atmosphere was lovely. I ordered the steak frites. A French classic, one might claim. The steak was wholly disappointing. First: it was tiny; less than 4oz. Second, it was an extremely poor cut, with one end very thin and the other thick, meaning my requested medium was only to be found in a thumb-sized piece, with one end quite literally raw and the other tough as boots. Third: the quality of the meat was poor and tasteless. I understand the place is upscale but $38 for this poor excuse of a steak is embarrassing. The cocktail that I ordered tasted fine, but there wasn't anything special about the presentation. No beautiful garnish, no chilled glass. Just some vodka and mixer haphazardly shaken into a champagne glass. I can't say that I'll be back. I'd much rather have a meal at the Mexican place down on south and 17th. No beautiful building but at least my food would taste of something and not cost an arm and a leg. I presume back in the day that Parc was a beloved establishment serving wonderful food. I am not sure it holds up to that today.
Excellent early lunch in a beautiful French setting.
The staff, lead by Kashi ,was friendly, efficient and attentive. I chose a Salmon Tartare for starters. The dish was well presented and flavorful. Beautiful color on the salmon. For entree I selected a warm shrimp salad with avocado. The shrimp was prepared perfectly. Very delicious when paired with the salad and avocado. Definitely will return.
Must-visit restaurant in Philly
A must-visit restaurant if you're in Philly is Parc, a French brasserie with a cosmopolitan atmosphere, strategically located in front of Rittenhouse Square, one of the city's most beautiful spots. The architecture of this restaurant will transport you to Paris. They offer traditional French cuisine; I strongly recommend the duck and the crรจme brรปlรฉe. They also have a long bar where they prepare a wide variety of drinks and where you can dine.
What a beautiful place for a brunch! Truly outstanding
What a beautiful place for a brunch! Truly outstanding inside. The food was very good, I had the Eggs Norwegian and it was delightful. The bread was also very good. Sadly the cappuccino was not very good, so I would not recommend. I was with 3 other friends and all of them also enjoyed their food, particularly the Steak Frites. The service was great also, we had a reservation so we were seated rapidly, and all the food was brought to the table quickly. Great experience, would definitely recommend.
Good food .
We miss the lamb shank in the tagine. They said they can't get the cut anymore. I suspect they were trying to improve the profit margin on the dish by putting lamb meatballs and charging the same price
My favorite restaurant in Philly .
I've done breakfast , lunch and dinner and it's always great . Beautiful location across from the park . The waiters and waitresses are all consummate professionals . Beautiful bread basket to start with and then it just gets better . I always get the onion soup and the steak frites for diner .... just because it's terrific . Every dish that comes out of there looks amazing as well. You can't go wrong here .
Came here for drinks and a sweet treat.
Got seated at the bar and it was a vibe. The bartenders also look very dapper with their uniform. The crรจme brรปlรฉe was excellent. I love that it came with a little Madeline. It was just a touch too burnt, but overall it was so good. I was very impressed by the fact that you can see the actual vanilla specs in the custard. If they added some fruit that would really take it to the next level. Moving onto the drinks. Let me preface this by saying I've had many espresso martinis, but this has to be at the top (if not, the best I've ever had). I love that not one component of the martini outshines the other, it's a beautiful balance of all the ingredients. I think I might remember this one forever.
Absolutely love Parc and will always come back here! Bread
Absolutely love Parc and will always come back here! Bread on the table to start, yummy cocktails (the Spritz is so good), awesome apps (recc the crab and avocado app) and great entrees! I love the roast beef sandwich, the bread is out of this world. My friends fav is the chicken club. Good service, great ambiance and decor inside.
Ridiculous that they took away the umbrellas in 100 degree
Ridiculous that they took away the umbrellas in 100 degree weather. How are we supposed to comfortably dine? Will not be coming back here again. Because the management obviously don't care to consider the human beings who actually occupy the restaurant space they own and only interested in how fat their pockets get. Horrible ambiance, go somewhere else.
I love Parc.
It is one of my go-to places for a nice meal. I had lunch there recently and they were super busy but able to provide good service. The portion sizes were pretty big which is not typical of a more expensive place. The inside decor is nice but I also enjoy the outside tables.
I don't think we've ever had a poorer server in the past
I don't think we've ever had a poorer server in the past 1-2 years at minimum -- the amount of time it took for her to return to the table was excruciating, and she called me "miss" in a condescending way each time when I expressed that I was interested in putting in our order for the next course. We were given a horrible table as well, when we were entertaining guests from Los Angeles. (and were thoroughly embarrassed by the entire Parc experience). Literally will never go back after this atrocious service.
Brought us back to Paris
Very nice French Restaurant which reminded us of our trip to Paris last year. We sat outside and had a drinks and split the croque monsieur. It was actually better than the one we had in Paris.
Paris Bistro in Phillie
This spot is excellent for a casual dinner out. Reservations recommended. All of our dishes were good, but the beef bourginon stood out, as did the tomato tarte. Presentation of the warm shrimp was beautiful
A true brasserie!
A true brasserie - vibrant with quality staff and service. Good wine selection and cocktails made by accomplished bartenders. Great sidewalk seating (we visited in late June) overlooking Rittenhouse Square. Varied menu but I canโt pass up steak frites and Parc did not disappoint! Crรจme brule for dessert, of course. Reservations a must.
Sublime, best in Philadelphia by far
I spent a while looking for a place to have dinner near Rittenhouse Square and was so glad I decided on Parc. As soon as you enter you feel in Paris. In a good way. In a top restaurant in Paris. I remembered the Relais Entrecรดte. Amazing atmosphere, full of people eating and servers. Beautiful restaurant in every way. Menu is amazing, lots of good options to order. Food was also superb and we were always well taken care of. Amazing experience.
Outstanding food and service without a single error.
Truly, Parc is a Gem.. Great service which we never find in NYC. The kindness and professionalism of the service people all the way.. Atmosphere is stunning like in Champs Elyse Paris. The quality of the food super. Sea food is beyond one`s imagination. My friends and I wished we have place like Parc in New York city. We will return and go there again in the near future.
Excellent food and service
This was a visit while on a trip with my brother and we could not have been more impressed. While the food was excellent the service was outstanding. Our server even picked up on the fact the brother might be vegan (he generally is) and offered to have them change the broth on his entree to be full vegan. His attentiveness and easy manner made the experience match the quality of the food. Even the bread was excellent. Highly recommend.
No way to go wrong
Classic French food served superbly. Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures on this visit but found the cocktails bright, the rose dry, and everything delicious. No pictures means the company was even better.
Nice spot but not worth the visit
We were given a nice table and there appeared to be quite a few things going on in the area at the time. The burger was nothing to write home about and my companion felt quite ill afterwards, having had the steak. For those reasons I couldnโt recommend the restaurant, nor would I want to return.
Absolutely Great Experience!
We took our daughter to dinner there for her 23rd birthday and what a wonderful time we had. Our daughter is a fan of their chicken kiev, but they only make that on Thursdays and we were having dinner on a Saturday. I reached out and Hani pretty quickly responded that they would do that for her. Closer to the date of our actual reservation, Lauren again confirmed that it would be made for us for her birthday. We had Anthony as our waiter and his service was just perfect. His service was spot on without hovering, and he was entertaining and very personable. He was a little taken aback when we said that we had pre-ordered the chicken kiev and he was pretty funny when he came back to confirm that it was in the kitchen for us! Everyone in the restaurant was great, the food was excellent and it's a beautiful restaurant. We look forward to our next visit there!
Wonderful time here.
The steak tartare was delightful and they had a nice wine selection. Was nice sitting outside for people watching with the heaters on.
Stopped by here for a drink and a few appetizers for lunch
Stopped by here for a drink and a few appetizers for lunch with a friend. I tried the French onion soup and appetizer ravioli, both delicious and flavorful. The service was also great, even though it was quite busy. Definitely want to return for their dinner menu.
I love parc.
It's popular for a reason. I prefer to not stress about grabbing a table or making a reservation here, but love a good Tuesday evening or Sunday at the bar, ordering a cocktail at the bar, getting the French onion soup, or dessert. They have some of the best and most knowledgeable bartenders in the city who are always happy to make recommendations. I also love the open air, old and grand French ambience. Definitely a Philly staple!
Great Brunch
Excellent brunch at Parc. Cheerful, friendly reception and service throughout. Our server was really great- easily and without blinking accommodated several special requests. Food was outstanding and I saw several other things on the menu I would have liked as well. Well made drinks. Price to value ratio good. Highly recommended for brunch, I look forward to trying dinner
My favorite restaurant in the city for years because they
My favorite restaurant in the city for years because they are consistent . It's easy to wow for awhile but PARC is ALWAYS good .. all the time any meal!! The bread basket is the best anywhere. Favorites are: French Onion Soup ... Warm Shrimp Salad .. Steak Frites .. Profiteroles. Favorite cocktail the Romarin. At the top of the game for years!!
French style and American pizazz
We booked but arrived a few minutes early. They seated us without fuss and we enjoyed a very good meal. The tuna carpaccio was beautifully delicate and the salade niรงoise was excellent. There was a good choice of French wines (though we chose a Californian Zinfandel). Service was prompt and friendly. The place isnโt sure if itโs a brasserie or a bistro. Iโd say probably the former. Itโs too informal (on our experience) to be a bistro. Itโs probably best to describe it as an American take on a brasserie. It was busy and buzzy. The bar looked to be well stocked, though we didnโt sample it very much.
Parc is always exceptional - service, food, atmosphere.
I've been to each meal/seating and it's difficult to pick which is best. If you can get a table, don't miss this spot. Also, love sitting out on the sidewalk in the warm weather.
Great food, good service.
Reservation was easy on a weekend. Parking is near by. Servers were very friendly.
Service was friendly, attentive, and quick.
The tables are a little close together, but otherwise the ambience is great. We went for dinner and ordered the beef bourguignon and cheese omelet. Or food came out very quickly and was delicious. They also do scan to pay on their checks, so you can pay on your phone rather than wait for your server. More restaurants should offer this option!
Somewhat disappointed
Beautuful decor in classic old style. Awesome bar with awesome bartenders. Drinks were exceptional. Dinner was ok, except we were time-limited because we didn't have a reservation. We sat at 6PM and place was jammed by 645. Mushroom tart was large, but not hot and rather heavy. Beef bourguignon was tasty, but again, not served warm enough . Half chicken was juicy, but again, not hot. Pureed pomme were very tasty, but not hot. Extensive wine list is a bit pricy. Our time constraint prevented us from sending our food back to be warmed, but we'd give it another chance because the service was excellent and the place is just that gorgeous.

Let's say Peter has a great morning and decides to take his three friends to Parc Philadelphia at 6 PM the same day.
He checks the restaurant's website and sees that no reservations are available. He then looks at the Parc Philadelphia page on AppointmentTrader, but finds that there are no user postings either.
That's where the community-driven bid process comes in.
Peter can place a bid on AppointmentTrader, which serves as a reward for any community member who chooses to work on securing the reservation. AT then notifies experienced users who may be able to help.

3.) Finding the Reservation
