Poor, just poor.
Our second time to Houston so figured we would try this place a second time as a couple. A poor choice of red Chianti started the meal. Half way thro the appetiser, a kitchen hand bought the entrees and instead of sending them back, out server actually placed them on the table as we continued our first course. A disappointing lasagna with no real bechamel sauce made for a poor eating experience. We were in and out in 40 minutes. A shame as we wouldn't return.

We enjoyed our meal. I ordered margherita pizza, others ordered pepperoni pizza, spaghetti and meatballs, Lasagna and Fettuccini Alfredo . You get baskets of bread for your table but if you want more it’s a small charge. We didn’t even eat all the bread they gave us but just stating this fact.

Mercy. That was good. Linguini pescatori bianca... Light, rich sauce. Plenty of mussels, calamari, shrimp, clams. Even the capers and olives added to the effect. Beautiful surroundings. Even the kids were well behaved. Service excellent. Actually came here a few days ago. Crab cake w corn pudding appetizer was unique. For the quality and environs, an excellent value. Not cheap, but worth it.

Very nice Friday evening dinner for four friends. Food was excellent and reasonably priced. Service was competent and considerate. Very good bottle of wine at a reasonable price also. Easy close parking. We'll be back.

This restaurant goes beyond being just a top ten neighborhood gem, it is a gem in Houston period. This was our first time dining at Fratelli's and certainly won't be our last, and will be a go to Italian restaurant for some time to come. Wine was a must so we decided on a good bottle of 2014 Brunello, certainly a wonderful choice, and a wine list to meet most peoples needs. We both started with salads, my wife had the Beet salad and me the Heirloom Tomato, both exceeded expectations and then some. My wife decided on the Veal Marsala and me, the Pasta Carbonara, thought I was in Rome and my wife's veal was superb. We didn't think it could get better, but wait, it did, with a piece of the decadent Chocolate Cake, to die for. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful and our Waiter, Carlos, humble and polished, and we couldn't have asked for a better person to serve us. So the question we always ask ourselves, Would we go back? You bet your bottom dollar we'll be back again and again.

I hadn’t been here before but it was quite good and the wine prices were reasonable. Good food! Will definitely return.

I guess we’ve introduced a dozen friends to Fratelli’s this past year. Lunch or dinner this is the place to go, but for dinner you best make a reservation as we learned the hard way. What is good you will want to ask? I love the beet and goat cheese and arugula salad, the calamari appetizer which I often eat as a main course, the eggplant parmigiana ( and I don’t even particularly like eggplant), and the choppino - but absolutely everything is good. My grandson gets pizza, one friend says it’s the best salmon in Houston and everyone likes the sumptuous desserts. I also love the murals on the walls, the helpful wait staff, the white table cloths and the freshly baked bread. Yes, I seem to love Fratelli’s.

Great neighborhood restaurant. We were there years ago and it was mediocre. It has significantly improved since then. Fish was excellent. Fried calamari was exceptional. My daughter has lasagna which she really enjoyed. Wine was reasonably priced - not 200%-300% over Specs prices for a change. It was over the holidays and the middle of the week but the restaurant wasn’t crowded and we could hear each other for conversation.

First the atmosphere, then the service and of course the selection and the taste spectacular and all of this under the watchful eyes of Barbara

Best dining experience I’ve had in a long time. Great ambiance, quiet enough you can actually hold a conversation. Outstanding service from Tina. The food was superb. Had artichoke and watermelon soups. Linguine with crab and preserved lemon butter were exciting and delicious. This place is the best reason to travel to Houston! Can’t wait to go again.

Great HH In the bar. You make a meal off of very inexpensive appetizers. Huge selection. The dinner selections are excellent as well. Delicious Eggplant Parmesan. Very good value. Beautiful atmosphere in dining area. Highly recommend.

We went to Fratelli's for an early dinner on a girls' night out. We arrived around 4:45 and walked in the open door but after waiting several minutes we were informed that they don't really open until 5:00 and said we could sit on the bench until then. No offer of a drink, etc. just ignored until 5:00. While waiting some folks showed up for a private party and were directed to the back room. At 5:00 the hostess asked if we were ready to be seated. Really? Once they were "open" things did go somewhat better. The service was excellent and the food was ok - nothing special. I've been here for a private party before and the food was about the same. There are so many incredible restaurants in Houston that unless this is a neighborhood spot for you, I would go elsewhere for great Italian.
