Average for tourists
Attracted by the reviews, we decide to have lunch here on a Sunday in April. Poor starter, gnocchi with asparagus and sausage not very tasty, watery tagliatelle with cinta ragù (mixed by a diner independently with parmesan), good meatballs.

All very good, highly recommended 4 of us arrived with a little girl without booking, the tavern was fully booked and yet they managed to find us a place Exquisite cuisine we took a bit of everything to taste You can go there with your eyes closed

The restaurant is great, very cozy, and the food was delicious. It was a bit full so consider trying to arrive early. The prices are also very fair.

Even though it's fully booked, they find a place for us at 12. You can immediately feel a nice atmosphere. Soft light, medieval tables, polite waiters. Service is the plus of this tavern. Note of merit to the Pici cacio e pepe, really good, better than those eaten in Rome. Secondly, the Sienese tripe was enjoyed with good bread and above all what a beautiful, abundant and inviting portion. My son devoured the gnocchi with sauce. My wife also appreciated a simple side dish served perfectly. Paired with a Vernaccia di San Gimignano I can definitely say that it was the best place in Siena and surrounding areas. Refined restaurant with tavern prices. If I return to Siena it will be a fixed stop.

Cozy for both us and our dog. Courteous and helpful staff. Typical menu. Low price. Overall recommended despite being a bit touristy.

Excellent Fiorentina and excellent cut, delicious pici with cheese and pepper and also the platter of cold cuts and cheeses. Absolutely honest price. The waitress from Ferrara is nice. Nice place, a few steps from Piazza del Campo. Advised
Be the first to ReplyExcellent quality/price/service ratio
Typical Tuscan restaurant with wooden tables with a minimal but very refined mise en place, with LED lamps on the table in a very pleasant environment. The menu (to be consulted on pads provided by a very efficient waiter) offers traditional Tuscan dishes with some reinterpretations. The pici with cheese and pepper are good, the pappardelle with cinta ragù is excellent, the desserts are excellent (cantucci with vin santo in particular). The staff very courteous and helpful. The bill, a pleasant surprise! Absolutely worth trying again

Sunday dinner in Siena. We arrive at Osteria Permalico a few steps from Piazza del Campo. Characteristic place, which although mainly welcoming a tourist public, has maintained high attention to the territory and the typicality of the dishes. Excellent selection of cured meats and cheeses, the Pici are king, the tripe is good and the meatballs too. Excellent house wine. Fast and welcoming staff. Recommended experience.

Cozy place, friendly staff, abundant dishes with excellent quality raw materials. Excellent value for money!
Be the first to ReplyMust have been an off night...very disappointing.
My husband have lived and dined in Siena for 12 years. We had often said we were going to try this place and finally did. But I doubt we will return. He had the Peposo, which was mostly inedible, it wasmostly chunks of gristle and fat. The beans were average. The Pappardelle and cinghiale was dry, hardly any sauce. The pasta itself was very good however. The house wine was good, but the best part of the meal was the tiramisu, it was very good. Had we not ended the meal with it, we would have felt the dinner a complete disappointment.

Happened by here by accident, looking for a quick pasta, and ended up staying for a very enjoyable wild boar ragu on tagliatelle and my wife had the pici with anchovies and olives, both delicious. The house wine was good, and the service friendly
Be the first to ReplyExcellent and slightly updated tuscan classics.
Excellent and slightly updated Tuscan classics. Fegatelli were very good, as was the Peposo. A definite repeat visit on future trips. Good wine list - especially good Montecucco.
