Very good restaurant you should try.
I will preface this review with I rarely give 5. Overall, excellent experience. Great food. Service was good, albeit a little slow. We had carpaccio, different from what we've had before. It was delicious. I had my favorite, short ribs, and it was really good ( a little salty) but tasty. Grits ( polenta) were creamy and perfect for the dish. Two sauces that were outstanding. This is THE DISH. My wife had the scallops and they were also very good. The risotto was good and who doesn't like crispy prosciutto? The cost was not expensive. The whole " 15% added to tab" is not a problem but the way it's presented is a little offensive. If you eat out regularly, you know your tip is shared with the bussers, bartenders etc. Don't tell me "anything more than that is for me," which is what server said. We tip 20% at least. This is a " fancy" restaurant that shouldn't have servers saying that. This is a very good restaurant. Chris Ponte again did not disappoint.

Brunch was Fantastic, with some creative offerings and excellent service by Jaxson and Kyle. Jaxson assisted us with what we ordered; very knowledgeable about the dishes and was a pleasure to have as our server. Our table started with Coccoli Fritto, which is their pizza dough made into a yummy bread, wrapped in prosciutto. What set it off was the fig jam and truffle honey. The arancini was incredible; a wonderful melding of flavors. I had the chicken & doughnut waffle. Lots of flavor with the ham, gravy and rosemary maple syrup. I also used the fig jam on this dish – very tasty. The doughnut waffle was fun and it created a unique taste. I tasted the scallops, paired perfectly with a lemony, creamy risotto. I also tasted the 24 hour Bolognese sauce, which was most impressive. We loved the cocktail and wine list. Creative offerings on both. Jaxson again, was very helpful with the cocktails. Kyle, the sommelier, was outstanding in assisting us with the Italian wines and the cocktails. The cocktails were perfect starters – so many flavors and beautiful presentations. Kyle helped us pair two whites and 2 reds with our meal. All were new wines for us, some varietals none of us had tried. He made the meal complete and such a treat. Dessert was also a pleasure. We shared apple butter cake and chocolate torte. Jaxson and Kyle contributed a joyful enthusiasm and insight to the food and beverages, which made our day perfect. You can tell they both love their jobs and are passionate about the restaurant they work at. We all loved eating at Chris’ Café Ponte in Clearwater and were sad when it closed. We finally made the trek to Tampa and are so glad we did.

OMG... what a great spot. Beautiful restaurant with great food. Saturday morning brunch with friends. The service was beyond excellent. The waiter and sommelier were super friendly and knowledgeable. When asked which prosecco I wanted, I asked the waiter what the difference was between the two. He said they are both good, I took the cheaper one... there was no pressure to get the most expensive. The food was very good, our friends and I decided we want to go back to just try every appetizer... the ones we tried were so delicious. They automatically added a 15% charge for service, no problem there... I gave extra because in this rare case, our waiter (Jaxson) and sommelier (Kyle "I think") deserved much more. They truly gave excellent service.
Be the first to ReplyThe worst service in the world!!
It took 25 minutes at our table to get a drink and over an hour for food. Absolutely ridiculous!! 2 hours for dinner in all. Literally no one was left in the restaurant when we left!!

The food was ok service also. The worse was the surprise %20 they added to my bill for the employees hostesses etc.!!!! Entree prices were high enough to have to pay that fee on top of the %20 tip.

This is definitely one of the best restaurants in town, despite being a bit noisy, something that you soon forget, because the service and mostly the food are by far the reason this restaurant is so good. If you go try everything on the menu and you won't be disappointed.
Be the first to ReplyAwesome!
We live in Tampa and this is definitely one of the best restaurants in town! The food and drinks are just perfect every time. Great service as well. The yellowtail crudo appetizer is a MUST. Plenty of gluten free options for me, including lobster Mac n cheese! There’s a vegan menu as well if that’s your thing. Great selection of Italian and other wines, and one of the best espresso martinis I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!!

We had the most wonderful dining experience locally in a long time. We travel extensively but always seem to be disappointed locally. We went to Olivia for my 50 something birthday and were very happy with our experience. Our food was to die for....Fresh, unique, delicious! The service was why we would definitely return. Rory made us feel special and had all the skills of a master server. An A+ experience!

Excellent Italian fare for a competitive price. My girlfriend needs gluten free options and they have plenty and take great care in the preparation of those items. I was in love with the menu and found the house made angolloti to die for. I also had the chicken milenese and she had the halibut. I would go here once every two weeks if I lived in Tampa and try everything on the menu. Had a nice Sabina noir I’d recommend as well. Great date night spot or spot to just enjoy great Italian food prepared with care and respect to its origins.

We were looking forward to trying this place during our stay in Tampa. It was a busy Sat night and our reserved table was ready on arrival. The 4 of us ordered cocktails and appetizers. The Fritto Misto was delicious, the meatballs were tasty and the Burrata was excellent. The main courses and service were a disappointment. The tortiglioni with Vodka sauce was inedible. The sauce was very concentrated and red with no trace of cream whatsoever. It was sweet and tangy and not edible. The veal chop parmigiana was heavily breaded and overcooked. The breading was burned and then covered with tomato sauce and cheese. The server made one appearance immediately after the food was delivered and asked how does your food look? Nobody ever came back to see if we were happy with the food. The server brought our check and announced that there is a new policy that a %15 tip is being added to all guest checks and that money gets shared with all the servers, bartenders, and other staff....but if we leave anything extra - she gets all of that. We should have stuck to appetizers and left and it would have been a far better experience.

What a great atmosphere. Staff was friendly and attentive. Specialty cocktails were so good, and the food was just amazing. Everything we had a different, delicious flare. The restaurant came highly recommended from friends, and it did not disappoint!

Good food, decent drinks, but everything took forever. Missed out on some sunshine which is a huge bummer, while sitting there waiting to even order our first drink. The manager came around toward the end to ask how everything was, and we said we didn't even order a second drink because it took so long, it wasn't worth it. He joked about it, instead of trying to make it right, and didn't even comp our appetizer for $10. We won't be back!
Be the first to ReplyReally good. Generous portions.
Had dinner at Olivia with friends for the first time. Nice atmosphere in general. The design really benefits from the presence of a large number of windows almost along the entire perimeter of the building and conciseness, the volume of open space. Service at a good level. Good food. Generous portions!!! Recommend to visit.
Be the first to ReplyElegant, unrushed, expensive and worth it!
We brought 10 people to dinner at Olivia to celebrate our daughter’s college graduation. The food is sublime. Filet mignon that melts in your mouth. Seafood dishes that even the non-seafood eaters rave about. All of it, from cocktails to dessert, was wonderful. The ambiance is elegant and the service was exceptional. We’re not VIPs but we were treated that way. It was expensive, but not unreasonable. We will return to Olivia next time we’re back in Tampa

Lovely restaurant, great space and lovely selection of food. The salad was good, calamari were good, the chicken milanese was fine.

A must try!!!! My son insisted we try this restaurant when visiting Tampa and I said ok another Italian, I like Italian. This is a TRUE Italian Restaurant that you must try. My daughter went to Italy and said the Cacio E Pepe Pasta tasted just like what she had in Italy. My son loved the Mini Rigatoni. I had the Breaded Chicken Breast with a side of Pomodoro Sauce for dipping with Fettuccini Alfredo. The Pomodoro Sause was the BEST homemade sauce I have ever had. I want more!! My husband also loved the Meatballs. Everything is made onsite daily including the sauces and pastas. You can see them in the room making the homemade pasta. If you go... you must order the Garlic Bread. It is the BEST Garlic Break I have ever had, extremely fresh and made with all homemade ingredients. LOL.. no one was talking because we couldn't stop eating and making yummy noises. Started to laugh about it. That's how good it was. The atmosphere was very comfortable and fun. Our server (I believe) Zack was so kind and very informative. Thank you Zack for a great evening, even though the terminals were out and you had to do everything by hand you rocked it with kindness and patience. A true professional. I adore this restaurant in every way. Can you please open a restaurant in Palm Beach Gardens or ship me some sauce, pasta and garlic bread. Also, can you switch to Open Table Reservations, I hate supporting Yelp with moving customers reviews to hidden unrecommended reviews in small grey lettering if it's their first time reviewing in Yelp format since they use algorithms and don't pay attention to fake reviews. I only trust Google or Trip Advisor reviews. :) :)

We had an amazing experience! Our waitress was very friendly. She helped guide and recommend the perfect picks. Ask for Angelina! Pasta was fresh and dessert was amazing! We ordered 5!!! 🥰

Entire experience was excellent. From the service to the food and the ambiance. One of my Top 3 Italian restaurants in Tampa.
Be the first to ReplyFancy Almost Fast Food Restaurant
First impression was a very nicely decorated small Fancy Restaurant. We had reservations for 10 adults, and 3 children. They have a 20% tip automatically added for the size of our party. With the prices, and tip you expect excellent service! I asked the hostess for a booster or high chair for my 2-year old grandson. She brought a booster that might have been outside in the scorching August Tampa weather. Too hot for me to use, plus not restraining belt. So I asked for a high chair. She said I could use the booster. She went back to host stand looking like if she was held there against her will. Looked bored in this pretend to be fancy restaurant. I asked the waiter when he finally arrived for a high chair. High chair never came. After awhile I got up and got a high chair myself. It was put away dirty with crumbs all over. Only one high chair around so obviously they are not equipped or welcome kids. My husband and I were never asked if we wanted a drink. We were only served water. My husband found an opportunity to order a beer, I was not asked if I wanted something to drink. At the time of ordering they took all the orders in one side of the table. When waiter came to our side started retrieving the menus without taking our order. What!!! I thought we were not going to get a chance to order. I reminded the waiter that we were going to eat too. The background music was too loud. Looks like this have been a forever complain never addressed. It was unbearable for me. Funny thing when they were clearing the table the boss boy seems troubled on what to do with the dirty high chair. He spoke to a lady that looked like it could be another manager. Many managers for a small place that were not really managing. I’ll never say never, but the chance of me going back is very thin. My last impression is that they took a Burger King: Decorated the room fancy, changed the managers and staff uniforms. Change the menu, and voilà there is Olivia! PS: Recommend the owners to send mystery shoppers and check this place out. Unless they only want one-time visitors that will not return.
