Honestly, the food was mid and the staff were awkward.
The arancini was great, but the entrees were disappointing. Small portions and overpowering flavors that just didn't blend well together. Everyone who interacted with us seemed unsure of what was going on, which felt weird. At the end of the day you're paying for the view from the rooftop, but that's about it.

Best meal I have had in years!! We easily found 3 seats at the bar area against the windows and ordered cocktails, wine, 3 dinners and 3 sides from a very knowledgeable and attentive bartender. The fusilli with oyster ragu was delicious and I have never tasted chicken as flavorful and tender as in the Saltimbocca di Pollo. We couldn't get enough of the side of enoki mushrooms. The cocktails were perfect and the recommended wines perfectly complemented the dishes. The best part...in a very crowded restaurant scene of mostly mediocre restaurants, we could be seated and served with no reservation for a most memorable meal.
Be the first to ReplyThird time doing the drag brunch and it was really gone
Third time doing the drag brunch and it was really gone down. This weekends show had zero talent and no showmanship. It was noting but a money grab. Blatant and indiscriminant. From the $25 reservation fee to the last of talent displayed on the stage. The food was mid level at high level pricing and when it is paired with a good show that's fine. But when it's paired with poorly performing drag queens pushing you to give the em more and more tips it's just sad. I ordered a $65 bottle of bubbly "Jeio" and after they set the bottle in the sun I asked for an ice Bucket it took literally 30 minutes for the server to bring a bucket (and this was before the poorly performed show) so that's not an excuse. I did come last year to the Drag King show and maybe I was spoiled because that show was Excellent. This show a strong ONE STAR FLOP I won't be back
Be the first to ReplyTerrible food.
Luke warm. No cold water. You ask for anything they say.... Oh we are out. It was expensive and nasty. Stay away from the ravioli, they were hard and covered in lime juice.
Be the first to ReplyWe arrived on saint patty weekend and all the other
We arrived on saint patty weekend and all the other restaurants had a two hour wait we were able to get right in. (Should have been a blaring horn). We were excited to try some good Italian food. The appetizers were poor at best calamari and beef meatballs. My wife was so set off at the medium rare meatballs she wanted to leave. I insisted to wait for the main course it would be great. The menu selection was very limited leading me to believe what was on the menu would be outstanding. Children ordered cheessy spaghetti, two orders of the lime drenched ravioli's, and one order of the Peruvian chicken. After a couple bites everyone was done and said they would just wait until morning. The family was famished from a full day of walking and site seeing, and had to walk away from the meals. Myself I was not deterred I was sure the chicken was the standout item.... Sadly I had one piece It was soft and mushy and Luke warm. Not exactly what you would want from a chicken meal. I didn't ask for a refund I asked my family to go see if they could find food nearby while I politely asked for the ticket. She asked why they left and I just said the food was not appealing. Paid 230.00 for food they were could not eat. Family of four kids are 16,17 And I can't ever remember my family walking away from a dinner. It was that bad. I would choose a different option. Hope this saves someone a bad experience.
Be the first to ReplyWent for drag brunch yesterday.
My review will focus on the food and ambiance. For the music the speaker in the northwest corner of the third level (by the bar) was blown out and did not hold up well. It spat out loud crackle that was perhaps louder than the music itself. The chicken burger was pretty good. The bloody Mary's were also quite nice. Service was a bit slow due to the crowd and the operating conditions: it isn't easy delivering food with performers also in the same space. Expect delays and difficulty communicating with the waitstaff when it's loud. Parking tip: park off the wharf at the portals; flat 15 on weekends instead of 10/hr
Be the first to ReplyAverage experience for brunch.
I tried the Officinia Burger. Although I understand that they didn't have BBQ sauce, it was still lacking something. Fries had some nice seasoning on them but came out somewhat cold. Service was OK. I definitely wouldn't drive across town but if you are on the Wharf looking for a bite, this is an ok option. Oh, the brunch menu outside is the only option while inside also has the full menu.
Be the first to ReplyIMPORTANT NOTE: 3.
5% initiative 82 fee will be added to your bill. Tip at your discretion. Vibe: Fancy. Dark jeans. Button up shirt. Popped collar. Food: Flavourful, packs a taste bud punch. Bread and olive oil is well worth the $2.50. Value: Ya get what you pay for. Homemade noodles are worth it. Service: Great, attentive. My water glass was never empty.
Be the first to ReplyAppetizer tasted delicious and had a pleasing presentation.
The entrees could have been more flavorful. The location was pretty with a clear view of the water.

First time at Officina but not our last! We had an early reservation at 5:30 to make our 7pm show at the Anthem. The space had a cool, sophisticated vibe without being stuffy. Light, open and airy! We were seated promptly and our server, Dora came to greet us. She was fantastic, friendly, attentive! Couldn't have asked for a better server. We ordered some drinks first while we looked at the menu. Trying to watch what we eat so we decided to order some things to split and made it a tapas night for ourselves. We ordered the arancino which came with 2 large portions. Absolutely delicious, hot, and cooked perfectly. We ordered the Polpette which was 3 meatballs over polenta. So good! We did a charcuterie with 2 meats and 2 cheeses. Highly recommend the whipped ricotta! This was really enough for us but we had ordered the tagalatelle bolognese. We were delighted to see it was a small portion we could easily split. All of the food was delicious. We skipped dessert not only bc we were full, but we had a show to get to. We will definitely be back!

Like! We wanted to sit out on the terrace because it was such a beautiful day but we weren't able to because it was full. Inside was pretty open and so we were sat there! The space was really nice and the food was yummy! We went for Saturday brunch--wish they also offered the Lunch menu at this time but it is what it is. We got the eggs in purgatory and the ricotta pancakes! Both good and would order again! Got the spritz drinks. Good service!
Be the first to ReplyDisappointing all around.
Service got off to a terrible start. I will say that someone stepped in and picked up on the issues and for that I was thankful but even with that - food came out VERY slow which was not their fault. I ordered the cacio e Pepe and it was not good. I would say it sat under the heat lamp for a long time as it was just a mushy mess - but it was not hot so it just sat there longer than it should have before I was served. Not been this disappointed with a simple pasta dish at a restaurant in a long time.

We sat at the bar during lunch for 15 minutes while multiple bartenders made drinks in front of us, never saying hello nor providing us with a menu. Ultimately we decided to take our business elsewhere.
Be the first to ReplyIf it could give this 0 stars I would.
My friends and I were denied service because our IDs "looked fake". I repeatedly asked the manager to scan my license, etc to which he rudely and condecendingly said he was going by the book. Let me add that "going by the book" means looking up a google stock photo of a driver's license. I am a 23 year old mature woman and do not deserve to be talked down to by any man. If you are a young person looking to grab dinner in DC, save yourself the time and respect and do not come here! Cheers!
Be the first to ReplyMy friends and I went to the restaurant on a wednesday
My friends and I went to the restaurant on a wednesday night and ordered a bottle of wine and condescension began at our first interaction. He asked for the groups IDs and immediately decided that my former college roommate's was fake and then when explaining his thinking called mine fake too. After trying to explain to him our age and that there was no reason for him to be rude, he took the ID and was clearly showing all the staff and then proceeded to deny us service. He talked down to us the whole time and was overall just rude. I've worked in the service industry and had to deny people and that's not how to do it. We're all almost 24 and this was so embarrassing for him. Peep my passport bitch
Be the first to ReplyI tried to come here with friends for the pasta Wednesday
I tried to come here with friends for the pasta Wednesday deal, and the general manager took our drink order when we sat down (which was odd, because our assigned server came by only a few minutes later). He said that three of my friends' IDs were fake despite us all being 22+ years old. The GM was condescending and refused to listen to us, while comparing one ID to a picture from Google as his justification for why we couldn't be served. I was incredibly frustrated by this, and we decided to leave. I appreciate the waitress and manager who tried to help us and talk through the situation, but I would strongly suggest you think twice about going here if you even look like you're under 30 years old.
Be the first to ReplyFirst tip: make reservations! They don't take walk ins
First tip: make reservations! They don't take walk ins after a certain hour or if they reach capacity. Went for pasta Wednesday, ordered the pappardelle and gnocchi. Both were delicious, gnocchi wasn't mind blowing but the cheese was flavorful and gnocchi had a good texture, but overall just tasted like marinara and similar to something I could have made at home. Can't put a finger on what parppadelle tasted like exactly or reminded me of but was very good and would get again. Not a ton of meat though. Both portions seemed like they could be filling but we were still hungry after! So keep that in mind. Neither meal was worth the normal $22+ but definitely $11-13. Would go again, just make sure i have a snack beforehand.
Be the first to ReplyMy friend recently invited me to join him on 1/2 price
My friend recently invited me to join him on 1/2 price pasta Wednesday at Officina, so immediately my answer was: yes! Located at the Wharf, most are already familiar with the parking and traffic so I always arrive early enough to give myself a chance to find parking and walk. Officina is located at the "end" of the street, but it's easy to spot with the sign. Once I got inside, the downstairs almost had a large diner vibe, but was closed. There was a 1st floor host that checked us in, and then we headed upstairs where we met another host and were seated. I loved the ambiance of the restaurant and the fact that there was an open kitchen!Food: I wasn't overly impressed with my pasta. I opted for the Parppadelle off of the Pasta Wednesday menu. It was a smaller portion than I'm used to, but no complaints because between that and the starter bread I was full! I'd give it a 3.5/5 on taste, but I certainly finished my dish. However, my friends ordered the Cacio e pepe and the buccatini carbonara and didn't really enjoy or finish theirs. I'd say the food was decent, but far from the best pasta I've ever had. Service: Our waiter was great! Prompt and friendly with a side of jokes. I also appreciate the hosts accommodating our last minute group size change and the managers (?) ensuring the final bill was accurate and accounted for the pre-paid table deposits. Ambiance: While both floors had a totally different vibe and layout, I could easily appreciate dining in either space. Again, I love the layout upstairs including the open kitchen and the amazing views of the Wharf. Overall, I'd give Officina 4 stars for the experience combined with the food. I hope to visit again outside of pasta Wednesday (although that's a brilliant idea) and try some other menu items.
Be the first to ReplyMy fiancรฉ and I had come across this place multiple times
My fiancรฉ and I had come across this place multiple times as highly recommended. We decided to give it a try for her birthday dinner. The food itself was quite good. The meatballs, Arancini, bucatini carbonara. All incredible. Some things you may not come across before going: the portions do not line up with the price point. The price seemed to account more for the presentation of the food and less for the actual amount. The menu when we arrived was fairly different from what we looked at on their website, so keep that in mind if you like to prepare before attending. The staff is very friendly, the drinks are great, and the views on an evening overlooking the Potomac are really beautiful. Overall, great food but if you're looking for a substantial dinner at a fair price, this isn't the place for you.
Be the first to ReplyMy friends and I went here for the pasta special - there
My friends and I went here for the pasta special - there were only four pastas on the 50% off menu - I got the ragu and my friend got the carbonara. We felt like the pasta was ok for the 50% off price but probably would not have been good for the full price. It was nothing revolutionary. However, we did get comped desserts (tiramisu) and that was delicious! I would say the dessert tasted better than the pastas.
Be the first to ReplyMy in-laws took us to Officina for dinner on Friday night.
We had a 6pm reservation and it was fairly empty, but definitely filled up by the time we left. We were seated upstairs under a dripping AC vent. A member of the waitstaff saw and helped us scootch our table over to the left. Service was OK, it wasn't awful but it wasn't anything to write home about. A few times we were left without any water and had to remind our waiter for refills. Another time we wanted some bread to soak up the sauce in our pasta dishes and could not flag anyone down. To start, we had an order of their calamari to start. It was fine, squid pieces were pretty small but it did have shrimps and shishito peppers, which were good. For my main, I had the veal ravioli, which was good. X had their cacio e pepe, which was more salt than pepper. If I had ordered that dish, I'm not sure I would've been able to finish it. For the price point, I felt like the pasta portions were extremely small. We split a tiramisu for dessert and it was also just fine. Overall, our meal was fine. I did really enjoy my Sazerac gin cocktail.

They were very racist and disrespectful! Do NOT go there! This place is hell! They have no respect for customer especially people of different races. Please save your money and time! Bottle girls are horrific too, they will confront you for sitting by the grass and get security on you for drinking a drink you paid for! This is not it at all!!!!
Be the first to Replythis vibes on the rooftop of officina are right.
overlooks the water, offers tasty (but expensive) food & drink. the only reason i am rating a 4 instead of a 5 is because the bar seemingly struggled to get our check right. at the end of the night, there were 3 extra drinks on our bill. the manager was quick to help us, but still, 3 extra drinks on someone's bill is a lot!
Be the first to ReplyI've had it with this place.
.. STRIKE THREE! I've been here four times and each has had something (within control of the restaurant) go wrong. The last time was two nights ago and we had reservations for indoors but were seated outside in the 95ยฐ heat. When I went in to ask for a better table, we were moved to the more shady side of the patio. The host had the nerve to tell me that they work hard to provide the best table - instead of arguing (this made it very uncomfortable), we decided to have a drink and go somewhere else. Thankfully Sarra (sp?) was nice and we decided to stay for dinner.

Location is lovely, however food is overpriced for what you get. Also, not quite sure why you have to place a deposit for your table as the restaurant did not seem particularly busy.
