NUBIANI New York Reviews from The Last Year
I came here with a party of 5 on a weekday for dinner.
Great ambient lighting, definitely gives off a sophisticated vibe. Service here was good! We had someone cooking and serving us. They were also very attentive. We ordered the large beef package for the 5 of us. While it didn't look much at first, we were all pretty filled at the end of the meal! The quality of meat was on point. The drinks (soju) definitely was on the steeper cost side, but other than that, I had a decent experience!

Great atmosphere and food, loved how the side dishes were already set up by the time we were seated!

I came here with my parents recently, and we were all really blown away by the meal! The interior is very well decored; modern, but very sleek. It doesn't have the usual rowdiness of the classic KBBQ spot, which can be expected from a higher end spot. The front hostesses were a bit cold; my parents were running late (~5-10 minutes, nothing crazy), and instead of pointing us to the seats around the corner which I later noticed, they just let us stand there pretty awkwardly. Seemed like they were upset we were late? The food itself was amazing though. We got the nubiani package, and the beef cuts that came with were all amazing. Ribeye was amazingly tender and juicy, short ribs even more tender. The pork belly was a bit lacking in the porky flavor that I have come to expect, but the marinated shoulder butt was really flavorful and good. Their korean pancakes are also amazing; we got the shrimp chive one, and it comes so crispy, truly the crispiest jeon I've ever had. Will definitely be back! Definitely a bit on the pricier side, but well worth it.
We ordered the small beef plate.
Great tasty food with a service that is leaps and bounds. have a meal here and ask for to sit at the bar facing the street

Excellent food and service! We were the last diners in the restaurant and they kindly asked us to leave after playing "Closing Time" by Semisonic Highly recommend if you are looking for a nice KBBQ dinner in Midtown
This was the most uncomfortable diner experience we have
This was the most uncomfortable diner experience we have ever had. Make sure you would understand their Korean English before you go. They talk like Airport broadcasts and expect you respond right away. The mushroom brought to table had soil on that. When you questioned it, they told you Yes, that's how they eat mushroom. People usually don't wash fresh mushroom, to keep its original taste. but hey, which doesn't mean you need to eat soil too? They want to give you every piece of advice like "Don't put plate by the side of table which they need space to cook for you etc. Overall I don't like this restaurant. We had a very good dinner in "Love Korean BBQ" which is one block away. I would never go back to this one.

ok strap in for an analysis on NUBIANI vs Wooga (formerly known as Taste 1080) in NJ (don't confuse with the one in Manhattan) tldr: both are gold standard, NUBIANI is far more accessible. bring cash for 10% discount. they give free yuzu ice cream at end! maybe slightly prefer wooga but it's been too long to compare. recs: skip meat combos imo because u dont want the steak lol. get jumulleok (beef short rib?) and marinated meats a la carte. oh and the usual shenanigans "still or sparkling?" "tap please" for my non nyers ambiance: NUBIANI feels more high end and professional with excellent service and dim modern lighting fixtures. I thought it was cool that they have bar seating that also have grills. Wooga felt more like an elevated kbbq spot you'd see in Korea. iirc they also spoke better korean there peep the sear on the meat, the grills are high tech with side vents. also whoever got the aux was cookin with the Daniel Caesar and Tom misch service: at both places they grill for you. tbh I think our server at NUBIANI overcooked some meats but in her defense my mom said she likes medium well I did notice that at NUBIANI the server tried to give us medium rare while grilling a few pieces longer for my mom so brownie pts for attention to detail. meat quality: at this level, every piece of meat is gonna look like Wagyu. we also ordered pork belly at NUBIANI and it was thicc like it should be side dishes: iykyk true Koreans judge a restaurant by its side dishes. I will say I liked NUBIANI for having Wasabi in the sauce tray. Samjang, Wasabi, and coarse salt could be BIS (best in slot for my tft gamers). pickled onions and lettuce wraps too so they got nearly everything. NUBIANI might come on top here for free refill steamed egg. non meat dishes: the soy bean paste stew was rly good with an insane amt of zucchini for some reason. they also uncommonly added spice, so if you can't handle spice... skip the stews I guess??? didn't try any actual dishes a la carte so I'll have to come back for the noodles
I love this place and try to come every time I'm in town.
Great service, delicious food, super clean and roomy. The marinated meats tend to be my favorite but they're all good. Bring your appetite!

I came on a Sunday during Memorial Day Weekend! It was so amazing - I would recommend to everyone - It is so perfectly priced and the amount of service they gave us was amazing. The egg steam was unlimited which you never see - The staff was so attentive and amazing - They checked on us multiple times and always gave us extra side dishes. amazing complimentary yuzu ice cream!! We were all so satisfied and planned to go the next day AGAIN. The ambiance is lovely and you won't get your clothes smelling like meat. We didn't even take photos cause we were distracted with the food!! PLEASE GO HERE :)
What a lovely late lunch at Nubiani.
The ambience is clean and modern. The service was friendly and attentive. I ordered the beef brisket bibimbap and it was preceded by an array of small plates of delicious specialties -- fried tofu, burdock, lightly cooked greens, Kim chee, sliced egg with marinated shredded beef. The bibimbap was served in a bowl with an array of fresh vegetables - thinly shredded pickled carrots, tart purplish and pale green microgreens, pickled daikon and rice. Everything was beautifully prepared, presented and delicious! The complimentary soft serve vanilla ice cream topped with fresh orange marmalade was a yummy treat. Highly recommend Nubiani - can't wait to return!

The food at Nubiani was great but I was blown away by their service! We had a reservation for a Monday night at 8:30pm and was seated promptly. The inside is modern, beautiful, and sleek, and I really liked the big windows that you can see the street from. We ordered the steak tartare, the perilla oil buckwheat noodles, and the small beef package. As a party of three, we were stuffed at the end. The beef tartare was fresh and paired nicely with the Korean pear that came with it. I liked that it wasn't doused with seasoning so that you can still taste the meat. The perilla oil noodles were really interesting and very taste-I loved how refreshing it tasted and I also enjoyed the sesame sauce it came with. I will say that the quality of the meat is great but not the absolute best. But it was definitely still tasty! I think I liked the marinated short ribs the best. The side dishes that came were also super tasty-I really liked the sweet potato dish, the egg souffle, and the bean sprouts. The kimchi stew that came was very flavorful and packed with a lot of meat and kimchi. Oh and there's also soft serve at the end as well. Now onto the service-our server Michelle was absolutely amazing. She basically anticipated all of our requests without us needing to ask her. She split the soup for us into three separate bowls when she saw that we were too busy eating the meats. I also finished the sweet potato side dish pretty early and asked her if I could get a refill and she told me that she had already put in an order for it before I had even asked! This happened with the egg souffle and some other side dishes too. She also automatically refilled my wasabi before I even noticed it was out. Finally, the moment that truly stunned me was when my friend dropped his chopsticks-she wasn't even at our table, but 10 seconds later she brought a pair of replacement chopsticks without us even asking. The attentiveness that she had was outstanding. All in all, Nubiani is a great place and I look forward to returning again when I'm in the mood for some elevated kbbq! It's also pretty easy to get a resy and note that there's also a cash discount.
This place used to be 3rd floor (oh, the memories!).
Anyways, I love this bbq spot and have come here many times-the meat is high quality, the service is amazing, and they give you a little ice cream at the end! Btw, despite the tiny elevator up here, there is ample space for a stroller (fun fact: we came here when our baby was only 2 days old)!

Could be a great place but based on the conversation I had with the hostess the service seems lacking. There was a reservation issue with Resy, which does happen. Not wanting to miss out on a spot, I tried to call and explain the situation and place a reservation online. The hostess seemed to not understand what I was saying and had me repeat several times before saying "you should try later." If that's how you treat guests, I can only imagine what it's like when you actually eat there.
Such good service and food.
Bartender waited on us while we waited for the rest of our party. Several flores and both are gorgeous. The look is stunning and it's a good time

My sister booked a table of 4, and later on we call to asked if we can add on another person, but they weren't able to adjust it. That was okay since we understood only reservations is required. As we arrived there for dinner, the set up is mostly for a group of even number of people. Looking at the menu, they said a small set is for 2 servings and a large set is for 4 servings. We ordered the Nubiani Set which consists of 3 different cuts of beef, 2 cuts of pork, 3 types of veggies. We also got a shrimp chive pancake and a glass of Asahi draft beer. The staff helped us cook the meats and refill the banchan. The marble beef was my absolute favorite. It was tender and I liked the texture when it's being devoured. The grilled shishito peppers and mushrooms were also good. The pork belly was thick and crispy but I was full to finish it. Overall, good experience and we didn't smell like bbq afterward. Their ventilation seems quite advanced. At the end, we were also given a small cup of mango ice cream to finish the meal.
Food: 8.
6/10 Service: 8.5/10 Ambience: 8/10 I rarely eat KBBQ but I thought everything was well seasoned and good quality. Meat was tender. I would choose Nubiani over Rib No 7. We got a small kimchi stew and the SMALL Beef package (Boneless Short Ribs or Rib Eye, Skirt Steak, Rib Finger, Seasoned Short Ribs) for 2 people. We barely finished the meal. We sat at the counter which was really nice. Ventilation was better than most other KBBQ places.
My entire group loved our experience at Nubiani.
The staff was so attentive and filled our sides so quickly when running low. This place is amazing and then food was so good. Highly recommend for a couple or group!

Came here on a Friday night with reservation and it was quite busy. There was table service for the bbq but it felt extremely rushed, so I was not able to carefully savor the food. At some point, I had 3 different cuts of cooked meat in my plate and there continued to be more cooking on the grill. I would appreciate it if the cooking speed can be similar to the people's eating speed so that everyone can enjoy the meat freshly grilled and warm. Due to that, I felt like the meats were just okay. I wasn't particularly impressed by any of them, perhaps because they were no longer freshly cooked by the time I ate them. The banchan were okay. Egg was pretty good. The one redeeming factor of this place is that they were very diligently replacing the banchans. I really hope that this place can feel less rushed, because it greatly affected my experience.
I was honestly a little disappointed in this place.
I was excited to try it based on all of the glowing reviews (both on Yelp and from acquaintances). I did not feel that we got our value for the price and experience. The meat was good, but I feel like there are other places for similar price/better quality. There are places where you pay less, and expect less quality, or expect better quality for more. The side dishes were also average (or less). They had an extensive wine/liquor menu, but zero cocktail options. The tables are very huge and the people across are very far away. It's not ideal in such a loud place, where sound is bouncing off of the walls. I've been to many loud kbbq establishments, but I've never quite had a place where I felt like I had to shout to the people across from me. They also constantly rushed us and kept telling us changes about when they needed the table. I did not like that. I had booked this reservation a month in advance, and it's not like they squeezed me in after I begged for a table. Otherwise, the servers were nice.
excellent but overly expensive
Beautiful venue with spectacular views. Attentive and courteous service. Excellent, really good, the meat. The wine list is important but difficult to find a bottle for less than $100, Bill of over 600 for two....only discordant note.
Korean cuisine with beautiful views.
Korean restaurant in a tower on 32nd Street with splendid views, luxury and good food. 39th floor I had never been to a Korean restaurant and we asked our friends to choose them. Everything to Nibble and Share To start, octopus with quite spicy sauce (I sneezed a couple of times) and some meat Gyozas. Then a salmon, a sea bass and the Estrella dish grilled with a gas stove, beef and beef. Filleted by the waiter and each one to his point. We didn't have dessert, no wine, just water. The site is worth it. Second
This is one of my favorite kbbq.
The meat quality is good and the service is amazing!! They cooked all the meat for us to perfection. We had a party of 4 so we ordered the set and cold noodles and it was enough food for us. I really like the cold noodle, it's very refreshing and perfect to pair with the meat. The set came with soup and egg and we were able to get refills for the egg. Would definitely be coming back here.

First of all, this place is not street level and if you look at the address (unlike me) you will see it's in the 3rd floor. Once in the restaurant, it's in the standard black decor. If you get the right table, you will have a great view of the street below. The service was excellent. They cook the food for you, huge plus. The staff is sooo helpful. They were ordering the bonchon for us when he noticed it ran low. When the meats were cooked. He even plated the cook meat for us. And explained the pieces. The meats were excellent. Highly recommend the boneless short ribs. I would, however, skip the pork options. I just impressed with them. They weren't bad, just not great. Hard to get a reservation, so plan ahead.. really far ahead.

Super authentic and fun place - food and service both on point. Can't wait to take a group of friends here and try more plates.

Absolutely love this place! Is an elevated kbbq experience that I think is so worth. We were seated at a bar table and the service is amazing. The waiters cook everything for you and are very attentive to how fast or slow you eat too so the meat doesn't get cold before you're ready. The space is nice with dim lighting and dark walls which make for the perfect date night ambiance. I also did not feel like there were any strong bbq fumes that you sometimes get at other bbq spots. They provide so many delicious side dishes such as soufflé egg as well as lettuce to make wraps with. We ordered the small beef platter for two people and we were stuffed at the end. Ended the night off with a delicious soft serve as well. Highly recommend this place!! Note that there is a discount when you pay with cash.
The food here was delicious.
Every single dish we ordered was spectacular. I've been to many kbbq around New York and New Jersey and I think this one is one of the best. They are a bit pricey but the quality and speedy service compensates for it. Also you do not leave the restaurant smelling like the restaurant. Would go again.

My friend and I got the small beef package, soybean paste stew, and cold buckwheat noodles along with a few drinks. Overall, service wasn't the best and definitely not worth the price for the amount and quality. If you want to try, I would get the meat (whether it be beef or pork) and stew. I wouldn't recommend the noodles.
Nubiani was a very solid 9/10.
Service (10/10): The service was outstanding! The team was accommodating and fun to chat with. I'd caveat that I went at a less popular time, but the ambiance was great in my experience. Well lit, not too loud, and not smokey. Food (8/10): The sides were so delicious, especially the yuzu bok choy and egg soufflé! The egg soufflé had a smokiness to it that we really enjoyed. We ordered the Shrimp & Beef Pancake, which was great with the sauce, but otherwise I don't know if I'd order it again (not a ton of flavor.) The Small Beef Package was a great and flavorful experience. I found some of the cuts a little tough to chew, but generally my preference is thinner cuts of meat, which the Beef Package was not. That's just my personal preference though! All in all, I would definitely come back.

Spontaneously booked day of & what a treat! The service is impeccable, food is delicious and the vibe is hip & fun. My boyfriend & I did the small beef package (with Kimchi soup) plus the JAPCHAE (glass noodle dish, amazing!) and had more than enough food. Also, free Korean ice cream desert. Highly recommend, great for a group dinner.
Best Korean barbecue I've ever had.
I went with my partner at dinner time and shared the small beef package. The meat is deliciously tender, juicy, and flavorful. The banchan (sides) were all amazing and none disappointed. The service was friendly and quick. The servers cooked our meat to perfection and refilled our water/banchan impressively quick. Ambiance was a bit dark, but makes for a great date. We only ate at dinner time so there wasn't much light, but they have many windows, so during the day it isp probably a lot lighter. The only knock on Nubiani is that paying with credit card is like a 15% up charge. They have an ATM inside with no ATM fee you can use to avoid this. TL;DR MUST GO, 11/10 HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Now that I don't have the superior digestive tract of a college student and I also gain weight way more easily, the typical all you can eat Korean BBQ restaurants just don't appeal to me at all anymore. I seek quality over quantity and it was only in the last few years that I realize how superior KBBQ can be if it's ala carte style. Nubiani is no exception as they provide some of the finest (and fattiest) cuts of mouthwatering meat in a set meal. Ideally, you'd come with at least a few friends as this style of eating is more on the sharing side. Even better is that the restaurant has people cook the meat for you perfectly right in front of you so that you don't have to. While the price is high, the set comes with everything typically associated with KBBQ - you get the unlimited sides, tofu soups, their famous souffle, rice, dipping sides, and finally soft serve ice cream. Everything was super delicious and honestly I would even venture to say this was a good deal as there was a lot of food. You have to make reservations in advance, but Nubiani is definitely worth a try.
Great. Just treat yourself.
Great experience. We had reserved a window seat (in good time) with the obligatory tasting course menu. The ambience, the excellent food, which is really good even for inexperienced "Korean eaters", and the great service make the package complete. The friendly waiters grill it at the table. You are served from front to back. Tens and Tan prepared a perfect evening for us. There were three of us, parents and a 13-year-old daughter, who was also very impressed. It was expensive, but we had planned for that. For us, it was worth the experience at the end of New York. Clearly recommended. Note: The Gaonnuri (39th floor in the Nomad Tower) has a separate entrance from 32nd Street, coming directly from Broadway.
To recommend
Superb view, attentive staff, careful details and on the plate it's great 3 reasons to spend a great evening in this restaurant
Delicious Korean BBQ in the heart of NYC
Wow, what a gem. Opened our eyes to Korean BBQ. The Wagyu Flatiron barbecue on the table was fun and delicious, as was the black cod entree and fried chicken appetizer. The sauces for each were really perfect. Great ambiance and service as well.
Buyer Beware
Be careful with this place. Most restaurants have a 24 hour cancellation policy; these guys will dun you $25 a head for failing to notify them a full 48 hours in advance (we notified them Tuesday evening for a Thursday evening reservation). A bit of a racket if you ask me.
Very good Korean restaurant
On the 39th floor of the building with a breathtaking view of New York you will enjoy an excellent Korean BBQ. A menu allows you to discover the range of culinary offerings. The wine list is very well equipped (special mention with a superb Château Simone) The service is very attentive In short, faultless for a very nice evening.
First class dining with the best view of the entire city.
We really enjoyed our dining experience at Gaonnuri. We were blown away by the views the second we walked into the restaurant. The entire night was truly a first class experience. The service was truly outstanding. We were made to feel like special guests the entire time. The barbecue grill service was fun, as well as tasty. It was great having our food brought out and cooked table side. We had a few samplings from the à la cart menu. The Wagyu beef was exceptional along with the black tiger shrimp. Their desserts are first class as well. Everyone at our table, thought it was one of their best dining experiences in New York City. This restaurant is pricey, but not by New York standards. We spent about $100 per person without alcohol. For the service, views and exceptional food that we got we all agreed the pricing was fair. We will certainly be back.
I loved
Thank you for welcoming us late for my 60th birthday! My daughters and their surprises! We have just arrived from Montreal where I am visiting my daughter, we are heading to NY and arriving at this magnificent restaurant, the xxl meal, delicious, the staff at the top and the famous dessert. Thank you all for your professionalism despite our late arrival. I loved it , it will remain a wonderful memory from the South of France.
Excellent meat restaurant with exceptional view
Excellent restaurant by * the quality of the meat (we took BBQ) * view * the professionalism of the service The price is also 5 stars but it's worth it. Unforgettable moment for us
Great food, great views.
Absolutely delicious food and unbelievable views of the city. The atmosphere of the restaurant is both professional and lively. The service was quick and nondisruptive. The wait staff were readily available to help, but it did not feel like they were hovering. Food was wonderful.

I have a notice stating that my bid has been accepted and is awaiting transfer. The reservation is for the 18th, but the “moderator” said he will confirm booking by the 28th. Is this an indicator that I may not have a reservation?

Hey @EvocativeFold67, welcome to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.
