Ok at the best!
Poor experience! We waited almost an hour in the bar to be taken to the restaurant. Food was good ..... but not the Michelin star experience by a long stretch ( we dine Michelin at least once a month). Room was unbearably hot 24.5 degrees, and although the LED gave instructions to change the temp, this was not an option. The night manager came to our room and said "our rooms are well insulated, the heating is off so we cannot change the temp", he even admitted that he wouldn't stay in a room this hot! And it was not even a hot day outside so goodness knows what it would be like if it was a hot summers day!! Dont recommend you stay here unless you like to sleep in a sauna! I think the curry house down the road with a glamping tent would be a more tasty and comfortable option! And several 100 pounds cheaper!
Great food - abysmal communication.
I am so sorry that I'm having to write this. Let me start by saying that the food was outstanding. That was the main reason we went and it certainly lived up to expectations. The big problem, however, is in communication. Our stay wasn't perfect (what stay is?) so I emailed them with a few points rather than posting anything publicly. After nearly a week I still haven't had any response beyond the promise of a reply within 5 days. Two further emails have failed to elicit any response whatsoever. The administration is clearly in need of a serious makeover.
A wonderful Birthday Lunch
We visited for lunch yesterday for a special birthday lunch. Northcote did not let us down. We were greeted warmly and taken to the lounge for drinks and to look at menus. Staff as always attentive, friendly and happy to advise with menu choices. Every single course was sublime. Presentation flavours are out of this world. Cheese trolley is a real treat. Great selection of beautiful Champagne, wine and port which we really enjoyed. We were treated like royalty and staff happy to stop and have a chat with us which was lovely. The day was topped off with a surprise tour of the kitchen thanks to Natasha she was wonderful. Thanks to everyone for making our day memorable.
Midsummer overnight stay was lovely. Great 5 course dinner with wine flight and all !
Stunning food. Great wine. Lovely bedroom. Quiet scenic location in Ribble Valley in rural location in Lancashire. Very attentive staff. We stayed for the gourmet 5 course dinner and bed and breakfast in a ground floor garden bedroom. Only suggestion is to place TV in bedroom higher on wall facing bed. A minor point so guest can watch TV in bed! We will be back soon and will stay for longer!
Amazing treat and catered for my gluten free needs
My husband and I booked a one night gourmet break for our 30th wedding anniversary. I am coeliac and have to eat a strict gluten free diet. I contacted the hotel to check they could cater for me, and boy did they. The room was lovely and comfy with a ceiling fan and Dyson desk fan which was needed as very warm night. In with the tea and coffee supplies were some gluten free biscuits - never been supplied with that at any hotel before. Also a card wishing is a happy anniversary was a nice touch. The gourmet meal was amazing. The food was just outstanding with flavour sensations we have never experienced before. My gluten free menu was virtually the same as my husbands, so I did not miss out on anything, just a few adaptations to make it suitable for me. We accompanied it with the wine flight and so clever how the wines compliment the food so well. Some great cocktails to enjoy, our favourite was the banana rum old fashioned. Lovely breakfast in the morning. My husband had an English breakfast whilst I enjoyed the Lancashire cheese souffle. The staff were all extremely friendly and made our stay extra special. Not something we can afford to do often, but will definitely be back.
40th Wedding Anniversary
Celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. What can I say 5 stars all round location, bedroom, staff and food and of course wine ! Nice touch as we received a room upgrade, Anniversary card and sweet treats after the meal. Everybody if they can must do a Northcote. We were treated like royalty a weekend to remember. Thankyou.
Wonderful experience!
Really enjoyed our lunch experience with friends and my young granddaughter. The staff were absolutely wonderful with her and made us all feel so welcome (whispering to us when the little one was sleeping then welcoming her like a special guest when she woke up and joined the party). The food was excellent, ambience great but most of all the food was absolutely outstanding. Many thanks to the whole Northcote team …
Northcote, always a great experience!
We recently had our 1st wedding anniversary at Nothvote after getting married there last June. The Northcote experience is first class from the moment you check in to the moment they wave you off! The terrace menu and drinks service on Saturday was extremely good and the staff made the day very special. The Sunday evening dining experience was simply marvellous. An abundance of choice and everything delectable. Missed breakfast by 30 mins, however on checkout the lovely receptionist said she could ask the kitchen to make us something. June visit
We had booked here for a special birthday. The room was lovely looking out onto the garden. The reception staff pleasant but not too helpful on where to visit locally. We would expect that some sort of ‘nibbles’ would be served with pre-dinner drinks but none offered. The breakfast is great if you like cooked food. I personally don’t and don’t eat eggs either. On asking we were told that the policy was to serve a cooked menu only. No croissants, fresh bread, pancakes, French toast etc. we heard other people also asking the same question and also commenting on the poor quality of the cafetière coffee. No alternative coffee offered we had to ask. The restaurant evening menu was great in parts, some courses disappointing especially the quail. And please put fresh not artificial flowers on the table. Rather disappointing.
Perfection personified
What to say other than faultless! We came to stay as a 50th Birthday surprise as part of a culinary voyage around the North of England! First impressions are ver6 good, beautiful setting wonderful warm greeting at reception and then we were taken to our room, room 12, wow wow wow amazing! We have stayed in many luxury hotels including the Savoy and this trumps the lot! Immaculate, tasteful and smelt amazing! We went for a few drinks at the bar, all were gorgeous, the rhubarb sour was my favourite, staff fabulous, attentive but not overbearing! We then went for a meal at the Michelin restaurant, simply stunning! Every course was packed with flavour and creative without the need to challenge, like so many seem to want to do these days! I’m going to do a full review of the restaurant separately but we WILL be back and I can highly recommend to anyone! Thank you Northcote
Nowhere better in Lancashire
Wonderful family meal with Grandma for an early Mums day, birthday for Dad & new job celebrations for Mum. Wonderful menu, 2 of us did 2 starters & main with cheese, 2 did starter, main & dessert. We all had the paired wine flight which went perfectly. Amazing staff in the lovely bar & restaurant who looked after us all brilliantly.
Birthday Getaway
Booked 5 course dinner, bed and breakfast package for my Birthday. When arrived at noon for lunch. We ate from the standard menu for lunch. We opted for the specials which included bone marrow covered steak. Staff very attentive and nothing too much trouble. We paired our 3 course with the suggested accompanying wine pairing. After lunch we checked into our room. The room was very spacious, with fresh milk in the fridge, still/sparking water and a wide variety of tea and coffee. For dinner we decided to do the wine flight. We looked all the wine just as much as the food. I really liked the pigeon and scallop courses. Again, the service was very good. For breakfast we had a full English. Will be returning.
A nice place for a festive break.
We stayed for a Festive Christmas 3 day break arriving 24th and departing 27th Dec 2023. Hotel was full which led to a general happy festive vibe around the place. Staff were welcoming and friendly throughout. Most of the promised offerings on the festive break advertisement were delivered (although sometimes needed prompting, one such thing was the after Boxing Day mulled wine and mince pies) but nothing major was not delivered which would lessen the overall enjoyment of this break. There are a good variety of seasonal returners and newbies, and it is very convivial.
Excellent 5* hotel , dining & 5* service
Just returned from a fabulous 2 nights stay here which was superb . Room 12 was excellent in every way and from check in to check out ALL the staff were so impressive and made our stay such a joy . Nothing is to much trouble and everyone was so kind polite friendly and professional throughout . Thanks to Jenna , Neve ×2 , Mia , Joy , Zoe , Iona & George who dealt with us the most . Dinner as you would expect is superb , special mention for the " clementine desert " and the lancashire cheese bread just hit the right spot - wonderful . Breakfast was superb , must try is the lancashire cheese souflet , but everything is superb , eggs benedict its a great selection . Staying at Northcote is a special joy and highly highly recommended many thanks to ALL the team including the hidden figures behind the scenes that make everything work so brilliantly .

Having visited Northcote previously, our second visit to Northcote during Obsession 24 certainly wasn't a disappointment! The reception staff were very accommodating, kindly arranging for us to stay in the same room we had previously. The room was fabulous! Comfy, spacious, the room has everything we needed during our stay. The balcony overlooking the gardens was lovely, albeit wasn't used as much this time round due it being a little cold! The food was just fantastic! Every course was wonderful and expertly paid with fabulous wines. A fantastic evening was had with the waiting staff, along with Craig, doing a fabulous job - nothing was too much trouble! Breakfast was also great too! A great selection! Certainly would recommend Northcote! We can't wait to come again! Thanks to the team for another fabulous stay!
Great day of learning in fun atmosphere
French Pastry day at Cookery school - loved it! Lovely breakfast and lunch included, learned great tips and venue was perfect. Well worth the money, I've booked another one already! Caters for all skill levels, and the maximum group size is 8 so everyone gets personal attention from the two teaching chefs. Loved every minute, makes a great gift.
Birthday experience for family, from seniors down to juniors.
Excellent service from checking in at reception to the service provided by housekeeping. Nothing was too much trouble. service and food in the bar area was first class as was breakfast food and service. Restaurant was outstanding, dining at chefs table was amazing, both for adults and grandchildren. All want to return. In addition couldn't fault anything in the bedrooms.
Glorious Gourmet Break
Never disappoints. From arrival all staff are friendly,welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed pre dinner cocktails 🍸 in the lounge bar before being treated to the seasonal gourmet menu with matching wine flight. The meal was a delight on the tastebuds with the wine complimenting each dish beautifully. Service throughout was attentive but not rushed and dinner was enjoyed at a leisurely pace. We couldn’t choose a favourite dish although always love ❤️ the scallop dish! After a restful nights sleep we woke to a glorious crisp day enjoying a tasty breakfast in the restaurant before departure. Til next time
New Year’s Eve house party
The most fabulous New Year’s Eve ever . We arrived at 1.30pm and enjoyed a couple of cocktails and a light lunch in the bar area before checking into our suite. The room was beautifully appointed with a walk in shower, roll top bath and double sink, with fluffy robes and luxury toiletries. The suite had 2 lovely comfy armchairs in which to enjoy a cup of tea and home made biscuits. A balcony is a nice feature for warmer weather. Dinner that night was a black tie affair and it felt special to dress up knowing everyone else would be too. We were greeted and shown to a quiet area of the lounge and offered a glass of Champagne, delicious canapés followed and more champagne. Dinner was called at 7.30pm. We chose the recommended wine flight for each course. An excellent 5 course dinner followed. Each course beautifully cooked and presented. Everything was delicious and worthy of the Michelin star rating. One of our party wanted the main course Aged Lake District beef cooked well done ( sorry about this Lisa!). This was done without any fuss which shows how “ the customer is king” philosophy is alive and well here! The table magicians very great and keep us entertained between courses. I still don’t know how they did some of those tricks! After the amazing dinner we returned to the lounge where there was some Low key entertainment to listen to whilst we enjoyed further drinks. New year was welcomed with another glass of champagne as the Sounds of Big Ben rang out. Haggis, neeps and tatties were served shortly after and were flavoursome and a nice touch. We didn’t want the evening to end and were the last guests to leave (sorry Mr B). We retired to our suite and enjoyed a very peaceful and comfortable sleep Next day after a stroll around the garden and an invigorating shower, we enjoyed a full cooked breakfast which as expected delicious, generous and filling We left with heavy hearts as such a great New Year’s Eve had been celebrated. To console ourselves, we have already booked again for this new year

Fantastic,surroundings,staff, food was amazing!!!! Very relaxed and comfortable, been to a few Mitchelin starred restaurants, this is Number 1 for us. We will be definitely back!! Good choice on food and all courses were faultless.

Wonderful! My parents are visiting and we have wanted to go to Nobu Malibu for years. I tried getting a reservation myself but it was next to impossible. So glad I was able to buy a reservation on appointment trader for a decent price!

I was veeeeeerry skeptical that this would work, particularly at a restaurant as hard to get into as Nobu Malibu, and it was perfect! We had lunch outside on the patio and it was fabulous!

Ok at this point I've attended a reservation purchased on AT by a friend and sold a reservation personally. Both worked pretty smoothly, nothing sketchy about it. A few areas for improvement including a way to more directly communicate between buyers and sellers, but the app always seems to be in development. AT customer support is really(!) responsive and helpful too if you have questions!

As a seller, I like the fact i have the ability now to transfer money out of my AT account and into a bank account. Makes getting the money much easier then the process before.

Does anyone know how AT plans to handle cases where a seller is quitting the platform but has a sell through rate <25%? The error message I got said to fill more bids or find other ways to increase the rate.
Is AT really going to block sellers from withdrawing their money? Especially revenue made before the sell through rate was introduced??

Your bid has been “matched” with a reservation. From the time a reservation has been located, the seller of the reservation must connect with moderator to give transfer information for reservation. If the seller;however, does NOT respond to reservation transfer, then your bid is reprocessed and returns to the first step, which is connecting your request to a reservation.

to appointmenttrader! Once the reservation is in your portfolio, you definitely own the timeslot, the review team would not have approved the trade if the reservation wasn't confirmed - so you are going :-) Judging from your post you bid today and are going tomorrow - don't worry as long as you initiated the name transfer, you are good - the transfer service has to work with the opening hours of the reservation team of the respective venue. You will likely see the transfer confirmation a couple hours before your reservation time.

Mostly from people who don't need their reservations or appointments any longer. AT has no relationship with places listed and acts as a platform connecting buyers and sellers making sure that listed reservations are real and that privacy is not compromised when transacting.

Hey @FluffyStar64, thanks for the question! When you place your bid the amount gets transferred in a deposit account, the second you either cancel your bid or a few minutes after the bid expires the funds are moved back into your main account from where you can refund it to your payment method or use for other transactions.
