Anniversary dinner
A wonderful meal! Special mention has to go to the A5 Wagyu flambรฉ steak. Highly recommended even with the (usual) high price tag of $38 per ounce. The garlic shrimp is a gastronomeโs delight as well. However, Nobu tripped up on the Chilean Sea Bass in wasabi sauce, with the center of the thick fish not fully cookedโฆ.unexpected in a restaurant of Nobuโs impeccable quality. Very good ambience and good service, with valet parking (only on weekends)โฆ.definitely recommended especially for the Wagyu offering.
Be the first to ReplyGreat tacos ร la Japonaise
We ordered lobster and tuna tacosโฆ bite size but the taste was heavenly. Sushi was good too - the wasabi is authentiqueโฆ the caramel banana at the end of the meal is so yummyโฆ service was good but our server explained the dishes so quickly that we hardly had time to digest what he saidโฆ luckily we are quite familiar with fine Japanese cuisines.

I have been this restaurant around the world but a couple of little irks tonight as a solo female. I couldnโt book online as a single ๐ณ. I popped into the restaurant personally to make a solo reservation. I sat at the sushi station which I love to watch. Food was amazing. But I felt rushed and had to try and download an APP to order a drink. Well that didnโt work as I am roaming from NZ. Overall great. But maybe in the rush back after COVID, and the challenge of hospitality service staff we have forgotten that some of us want to take our time, and itโs premium here, so no rush!!

What a treat! I have never been to a Nobu before and I totally get the hype. We had the first reservation at 5. They didn't open the doors until 5 which was a little odd as we all stood outside waiting. Once inside, the service level was AMAZING. Plates cleared quickly and often, food runners offering tips on how to eat things, waiter giving great recommendations, water refilled and cocktails timed well. The food was so good. They recommend you do family stye ordering multiple items for the table. The portion sizes were surprisingly generous. We were a party of three and were able to get a decent portion of every dish. Chilean Seabass with Black Bean Sauce and Crisp Rice with Spicy Tuna were two of our favorites but ordered lots of different things and had no misses.

My experience was less than stellar. We were totally rushed. My reservations were for 2, and they put us at a table for 6. I have been to multiple Nubuโs in the US, and Europe. The food was second rate at best at their DC restaurant. No effort was put in its presentation. The sushi rolls were the thickness of my finger. Considering their prices, the better kick it up multiple notches. Sorry. Iโm never going to return.

Amazing food quality. Lobster Tacos, Waygu sliders, Waygu beef, Top Notch Sushi. I wasn't expecting it to be as good as it was. Staff and sushi chefs are great.

Hit or miss worried Hot tea was good Fresh wasabi, always a good sign Ginger was also high quality, personally I like a bit more sour taste but still it was prepared well Chef was still wearing glove, I know this is due to Covid, but I would prefer no gloves - Not sure exactly what but I think glove takes away essential spirit of authentic sushi Taco w caviar yellowtail - it would taste much better if nori shell was more crunchy 5 appetizer sashimi - all fresh high quality Oyster w uni & yellowtail and caviar- good, oyster dish had way too much soy sauce 4 piece sushi - excellent, of these blue fin tuna was superb - sushi rice was just perfect, not cold or hard (last time we went to Sushi Taro, the rice was hard and under cooked, which was a big minus for sushi) Even though we sat at the sushi bar, there wasnโt much interaction between the sushi chef, most dishes were prepared somewhere else Also sushi was served 5 pieces all together at the same time - it would be much nicer if they serve one piece at a time (you really donโt want your sushi sitting on a cold plate for no more than 30 secondsโฆ) At Nobu, there was no real advantage of sitting at the sushi counter If sushi is your favorite, ordering a la carte Sushi would be better (2 piece sushi priced between $7-16, uni and toro being most expensive)

Arrived early.. staff graciously accommodated us. The servers were so attentive โฆ with food and drinks. Our entire party of 5 thoroughly enjoyed the tasting menu. We canโt wait to come back
Be the first to ReplyRATOS NO RESTAURANT! Rats in the restaurant!
There were rats in the restaurant! We warned the staff and they barely apologized and acted as it was not a big deal! The food was not nobu standards! Bad drinks Im never coming back! Cant seem to erase the mouse out of my head! So disgusting

Did a small group party here in May. Pre paid a deposit and paid the bill balance at the end of the meal and was then billed again two days later. Left message at restaurant, emailed the restaurant and even tried to call their corporate office where I was left on hold for ten minutes before hanging up. Food is awesome but the service level has dropped so far that it isnโt worth it anymore. One of the servers said that it was her first day and she didnโt know where to even direct people to the bathroomsโฆ..at this price point, the wheels have come off the bus and the solid food isnโt enough to make up for it. So sad.
Be the first to ReplyFabulous Meal
The food was excellent and the staff was very helpful in explaining all of the offerings and knowledgeable about the menu. If you are not very familiar with Japanese food, I strongly recommend the tasting menu, which is a 7 course fixed price meal that includes dessert..

Have been to this location many times. Food and service are always outstanding. HOWEVER..the last 2 visits (including tonight) the timing was terrible. We had 5:15 reservations today, Motherโs Day. We specifically chose an earlier time to beat the main rush. Appetizers and anything from the kitchen was fabulous and delivered in a timely manner. After our last hot course we waited almost 45 minutes for our sushi. Ridiculous. Then we waited another 20 minutes for the desserts that were comped bc we had to wait so long for the sushi. When we were seated my husband mentioned the long delay in sushi from our last visit, not sure why our sushi took even longer this time. Love the food but the delays tonight were unacceptable.
Be the first to ReplyWhen did it get this good?
Haven't been to Nobu in a couple of years due to COVID restrictions and all, but WOW, I didn't remember it being this good. My prior experience was OK. Last night was among my best dining experience and my guest were as pleasantly surprise and happy as I was. For reference, our benchmark includes The Surf Club Restaurant in Surfside, Florida (if this helps). Service was amazing. We were a party of 6 and everything was timed perfectly, important for fine dining but often overlooked, especially in DC (for example, a well know steak house at one of the best hotel in Georgetown still can not get their timing right). We weren't rush yet they were instantly there when we needed something. Food was outstanding because of it's freshness. I can't emphasize how fresh everything was, particularly important because of the raw food. The raw sweet shrimp with deep fried heads are my new favorites. The Japanese A5 Wagyu was perfectly cooked with a stunning flambรฉ. will definitely return. Thank you Nobu for a great evening.

I was excited to celebrate my daughter's birthday only to be told immediately that they were busy and we had to leave by a certain time. I could not believe how rude, unprofessional an unnecessary the comment was. I've been to Nobu's across the country and this was by far my worst experience ever. I've never had any high end establishment make me feel rushed. Unacceptable. Will not be back, would not recommend for the price.
Be the first to ReplyAwful service
To celebrate our very special occasion we chose Nobu Washington DC. Lakisha was our server and she was awfully rude and no clue how to treat guests. She threw the check in the end and never said thank you or good evening. Never be back, felt very humiliated!!!! What a shame

Outstanding experience from start to finish. Excellent food and the staff was top notch. We were there for a birthday and were treated so well.

Came here to celebrate a birthday. Had reservations for 8:30 and ordered shortly after arriving. The waitress forgot to put in the order for my meal and by the time she realized, the kitchen had closed. Canโt judge the food because I didnโt eat. No compensation or anything, just sat there and didnโt eat

Our son wanted to try Sushi for the first time and what better place than this one. Our son had the Signature Omakase and I had the Chilean Sea-bass and the tacos. Everything was fabulous and the service was outstanding. Everything was fresh and delicious and our son throughly enjoyed everything. Highly recommend
Be the first to ReplyToo dark. Not worth the price.
When we entered the restaurant (we were there to celebrate our daughter's graduation from Harvard), we were immediately told "you have to be out by 8:30p. We are fully booked." Not very welcoming for the almost $1,000 we paid for our family to celebrate. Honestly, I'd rather go back to a Gordon Ramsay restaurant. The Omikase was very good, but not a knock-your-socks-off kind of experience we were expecting. It was waaayyyy too dark in the restaurant and difficult to see our food. Our daughter was happy, but mostly likely, we will not go back.

I loved the restaurant and they work so hard to make it all work like a charm! The food is just amazing, delicious and all around great quality. The drinks and service is unspeakable. We love Zoe!!
Be the first to ReplySub par food and atmosphere for the price
Worst experience out I have had in Washington DC. Food was cooked okay but not worth the price at all. The atmosphere was not near what I expected for all the hype. You can get a better meal, for a better price, at many places in DC. Don't waste your time.

One of my favorite meals, ever.
Ate here as part of a business meeting, a massive multi-course meal. Not a single item was less than stellar. Attentive staff, nice feel, and ridiculously good food. Whatโs not to love?
Super Valentines date!
Great food. Great service. Beautiful restaurant. We had the valentines chefs tasting menu. It was paired with champagne.
