Made a quick pitstop here while walking around downtown for
Made a quick pitstop here while walking around downtown for an appointment one day and it did not disappoint! I am always craving sushi and what I ordered was fresh and delicious. Personally, I am a fan of anything with cream cheese and sashimi in it and was able to fulfill that craving here. Would definitely return!
Be the first to ReplyI have never left a yelp review in my life, but the service
I have never left a yelp review in my life, but the service I experienced at this restaurant last night was so appalling I feel compelled to share. When my friend and I arrived, we had to ask for menus, and were given one for the two of us, and no sushi menu, no water, and no small plates for sushi or soy sauce. Despite the restaurant not being crowded at all, our food both took a half an hour to arrive and was cold when it did. And I still after all of this wasnt going to leave a review, because I understand everyone has an off night here and there. But I looked at my bank statement this morning and despite handing me a bill for $23 I was charged $46. While I would love to give this place the benefit of the doubt that they may have accidentally run my card twice, I don't feel comfortable doing so due to how poor the entire experience was. Wouldn't recommend to anyone ever to go here.
Be the first to ReplySlow, slower, slowest! The service couldn't be worse.
Had to ask for a menu, water, utensils, and track down the waiter to order food. Once ordered it took forever for the food to come. Did he even put in the order? When the sushi rolls came, they were so loosely wrapped, the rice just fell out which made it hard to eat with chop sticks. The waiter said they didn't have forks. The manager said, "you have to cut him some slack, our other server called in sick." The waiter seemed very inexperienced, unresponsive, and clueless, but the manager was even worse because he wasn't helping his staff. There were only about 6 tables of customers. To add insult to injury, we asked for the check and it was $70 for 4 rolls. Ouch! Will never go back here and cant recommend Nishiki Sushi when there are so many other options to pick from. If they don't improve their customer service and food prep processes, especially sushi, they won't be around much longer. Sad, because it is a really cute restaurant and could have a good vibe.
Be the first to ReplyTerriyaki chicken was bland and in a wet plate of watered
Terriyaki chicken was bland and in a wet plate of watered down sauce with the salad in the puddle. Took 40 minutes for 4 rolls and chicken on a slow Monday night. Rolls were fishy. Water tasted like dirty tap water. Smells like the inside of a taxi cab. Overall, the best roll we got was solidly a 4/10.
Be the first to ReplyDecent service, and better food.
We got a groupon for this and came in for a late lunch. It was pretty quiet. The fish was decently fresh, some were a little fishy, but still decent quality for the price. We had the Tempura ice cream and that was WONDERFUL. I wish they gave it to us when it was still hot, but it was still good. Service was a little meh. They really didn't care, but it was also a quick moment before their dinner rush, so no real fault there. Overall, I don't know if I'd come back if there wasn't a groupon.
Be the first to ReplyThe host Norman is an absolute disgrace to the service
The host Norman is an absolute disgrace to the service industry. I was just trying to pick up a carry out order for my girlfriend who ordered online. I gave him my name and he quickly dismised it saying he had nothing for that name. I assure him it could only be my name or my girlfriends name. He again dismised it and told me i need an order number. At this point a young lady walked over and was trying to figure out the issue. the asshole continued to talk over us and interject his opinion and even suggest that i would be someone who steals carry out orders. From here the fuck yous are flying both ways. I finally tell the guy to walk the fuck away from me. The young lady goes around and checks the computer and guess what?!?!? My fucking name is on the order ! Nice job Norman! Incompetence and poor customer service, not a good look.
Be the first to ReplyGood food but a different type of sushi place or experience
Good food but a different type of sushi place or experience in Sac. Been going here since 2004 with the P street posse and always enjoyed the experience.
Be the first to ReplyTheir okay .
.... had way better sushi. Rice was super cold. Not enough server to attend. Great portion good prices but quality sucked. Check your sushi to make sure everything that was on the menu is actually on your sushi because their respect for having avocado on your sushi was questionable. I barely had any what so ever on mines and it was irritating.I got another groupon but honestly ill just trade it in instead due to my experience.
Be the first to ReplyMy review is only in relation to their Happy Hour.
I got here at 6:10. I had a 6:15 conference call and I asked if I could take it in their restaurant mostly on mute. The Starbucks next door was closed at 6 so I had to scramble to find a place! The server said it was not an issue for me to take a call from inside and she was super accommodating about seating me at a corner table. She warned me that it might not be that quiet but the space was actually perfect for me as I was on mute most of the time. I was there for about 1.5 hours and I commend the restaurant on their service throughout that time. I got water right after I sat down. Then my hot sake arrived and it was a great temp and quite tasty. I needed a warm drink other than tea. Many times, the server came to check on me about food and drinks and overall comfort. She was great! Their Happy Hour menu has a very large selection of items! $3, $5, and $7 options! I ordered plain edamame as that seemed like the healthiest option to stay alert for my call. Upon leaving, I noticed the bar area did get very full with a large rowdy crowd. It seemed like a fun place for food and drinks.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing service and food.
Servers are very easy to talk to plus they have this magician bartender Alex, always a good time and good vibes. Food takes a longer than average but definitely worth the wait. I recommend Beat LA, sandi, lion king, spicy edamame, and their sashimi.
Be the first to ReplyNot sure what happened.
.. I come to this place all the time and usually the sushi is good. But I think the sushi chef forgot how to make his rolls. You know the sushi is bad when the best thing you had there are the chicken wings. The service was better this time, but the sushi was bad... I love this place. But it's like a bad relationship that you think is getting better and BOOM!!! Something bad happens again. Look at the plate they put the sushi on.... that explains it all. If you know of another sushi place down town, please let me know...
