The Joy of Dining
The food is fresh, the atmosphere is intimate. This is my second visit to this spot. Joanna is lovely as a host. I will be in Lisboa in 2 weeks and I will be back again. Not a big drinker, but the Michele Pfeiffer and the chocolate cake at the end were divine. A true gem!!!!

Blackboard with the daily menu. The most interested deconstructed Guac ever! Tuna was perfectly prepared. Steak was delicious as was the vegetable dish. We tried and enjoyed the local Vinho Verde. Cozy, family run restaurant in Alfamo, near the train station and port.

Needle in a haystack is just thatโฆ This little place is like literally walking into someoneโs home. There are only a handful of tables. Run by a husband and wife team. Who run it like a well oiled machine. The menu is on a chalkboard. Dishes are all meant for sharing which seems to be the norm here in Portugal. Nice wine list. Food was delicious Would definitely return

I do not often rate a restaurant as high as this but it is well deserved. It lives up to it's name in that even when you find it, you are not sure you have found the right place. The interior is beautifully laid out with plenty of old collectibles such as typewriters and telephones. The tables and chairs follow this line and there I did feel that the tables could have been less rickety! The restaurant is run by a young couple. The husband is the chef and his wife provides a close (but not too close) personal service with descriptions of each of the dishes. The menu is on a chalk board and the servings are shared between two or three people. They are not large servings but beautifully presented and an interesting variety of dishes. We chose an olive mix followed by a vegetable bake and baccalau (cod). Our final course was a perfectly cooked and presented sliced sirloin. All were well presented and enjoyable. We finished with an amazing 'bad' chocolate cake which was particularly hard to share!! There is a good wine list and (a rarity) the person serving knew the wines and was able to give us an idea of what we were buying before we bought it. The prices were fair particularly for the quality of food and I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Lisbon.
