If this is a helpful reference point, quality and price are along the lines of an Ottomanelli's or Lobel's in NYC. That is to say: Everything is expensive, but nothing we've ever tried has been clearly not worthy of the price. And pricing is about on par with other semi-chichi markets we've stumbled across on Nantucket (e.g. 167 Raw, Sayles, where local oysters are about $2 each, across the board, and scallops run just under $30 / lb). Unlike some of its competition, the setup here is clean, expansive, bright, and extremely neat / clean, more evocative of Vermont, where I understand the ownership / management hails, than Boston. Our favorite items to purchase are the unadulterated raw products, but prepared salads -- especially seafood salads -- are well made and enjoyable. Maki and nigiri sushi, available near the cashiers at the front, are ok, probably as good as you'll find on the island: The fish is of good quality, vegetables in vegetable rolls are quite fresh (cucumber and carrots are crispy, avocado appropriately creamy and ripe); the sushi rice is... not what Nakazawa would serve in Jiro Dreams of Sushi. Rolls like tuna, yellowtail, or mixed vegetable, generally run a little south of $10 / roll. As a less-than-100lb person who is moderately active, I can polish off at least two of these without so much as a blink. There's a bakery counter on the left when you walk in, which we've never tried. Standard market items (i.e. organic lettuce clamshell packs, fresh corn on the cob) are fresh, but approximately 15-25% more expensive than what you'll find for sale at Stop and Shop.Worth it? Perhaps. If you have an itch that needs scratching. Even if not... heck... it's ACK.
