Warming noodles and dumplngs on a cold day
This establishment was recommmended to us by a family member, judging by the other reviews we were lucky on the day of our arrival that there was no queue. Once seated on the top floor at our tiny tiny and chairs, service was extremely efficient and in no time our noodle soup and steamed dumplings were on the table ready to eat. The dumplings were delightful, the noodle soup was piping hot and for me needed a little more flavour with the addition of sauce and a little kimchi. If you finish all your noodles you can ask the waitress for a free bowl of noodles. Not no time did we feel rushed to leave.
Be the first to ReplyDefinitely Worth Queuing For!
We had a shock when we arrived to see a long "snake" queue on the ground floor. It moved pretty fast and we were then told to go to the third floor. Surprise surprise, there is another loo..ong queue there. Apparently the first queue was just to split the patrons into first floor, second floor and third floor based on the number of people in your group. The real queueing only starts after you get the floor number. We ordered the hot favourites, and couldn't go wrong. Everything was delicious! Definitely worth the wait.

A famous Michelin-listed restaurant. The taste is good, but not so good that you can only eat here! The customer service is the worst. The customer service is the worst, they treat the customers like objects. They want you to pay quickly, eat quickly, and go home! I don't want to go there again. I don't want to go there again. Gwangjang Market has a much higher level of customer service and taste than this place.

I went during peak lunch hrs. There was a line outside but it went by quick. Once you get seated you pick what you want to eat then you pay for your meal right after you order. Food came out super quick. The food was delicious and very well priced.

Firstly, I reckon this restaurant has garnered a few negative feedback due to its fame and misunderstanding. The restaurant has a Michellin Bib Gourmand recommendation which is not the same as a Michellin Star. Thus if you're expecting a Michelling star service, ambiance and food, you're in the wrong place. The bib gourmand specifies Kyoja with good quality food and good value cooking which I completely agree. We almost did not visit this restaurant due to the number of negative reviews it has received however we were thankful we took the chance. We ordered the Kalguksu (knife cut noodles in warm broth), Bibim Naengmyeon (cold spicy buckwheat noodles) and the Mandus (pork meat dumplings) and they were all delicious. I've read reviews where the complain of the broth being overly garlicky and the kimchi too spicy which was not my experience. For me personally, the broth had great depth of taste with the garlic and onion base and I love spicy food thus the Kimchi was perfect. I would call the service we received efficient. We did not wait in line long and was ushered to our table for 2 in quick time. We were informed payment in advance was required and once we placed our order, food arrived pretty quickly as well. Usually this would usually mean the food is microwaved rubbish, however the advantage of having just 3 dishes on your menu means you can pre-prepare all the dishes while still serving them fresh and warm. I would revisit and not hesistate to recommend Kyoja.

₩10000 for a noodle soup with minced beef and dumplings and free kimchi. Delicious! Staff doesn't speak English but just point to pictures on wall for ordering what you want
Be the first to ReplyMy Go to Restaurant in Seoul!
I've been here at least 7 times (probably more!) in my 2 weeks in Seoul. It's amazing for so many reasons. First, great place if you're eating solo. Second, amazing noodle soup and dumpling dishes. Third, affordable costs. For 10,000-11,000 won you'll get an average crepe or something on the street. Here, you're getting excellent dishes. Fourth, unlimited kimchi and water means you can fill up on 10,000-11,000 won. I alternate dishes each time I go. Fifth, simple to order and pay and get in and out. Sixth, we can all say we eat at a Michelin restaurant! Avoid coming at peak lunch or dinner hours to avoid lines. I've never had the third dish, but I kind of want to try it.

Great place tasty food 4 things on menu all good, very tasty. Don’t forget the cutlery is in the draws. Saw people eating noodles in different ways so was an eye opener on that front too.

We ate there during our first day in Seoul and it was among the best foodie experiences we had in Korea. The pictures and the reputation this place has tell the truth. There is often a waiting line but it moves on fast. Service is also very fast.
Be the first to ReplyGyoza and noodles both worth trying!
Very crowded joint, but we’ll organized in terms of crowd control. Not a place to sit, chat and relax. Just order your food, eat and leave. Gyoza is big n juicy. Noodles are tasty. Worth a try

Be the first to ReplyMUST TRY AT LEAST ONCE
This restaurant sells Korean noodles and dumplings. You MUST try the traditional Korean spicy cold noodles. If possible one of each!!

There are just four positions in menu, but believe me, it’s enough :) we chose soup and dumplings - everything was very tasty! There is a robot which brings your order to your table, interesting experience. Prices are very very reasonable. There are a lot of seats and very fast service, so don’t worry if you’ll see a queue - it’s fast moving.

Simple menu, fast lunch service and great tasting food. I had the beef soup with dumplings and kimchee on side. The tables have Plexi glass partitions for the Covid-19 precaution. You pay up front with cash or bank card.

Great food! Cheap price and amazing taste, is located in Myeongdong, a bustling shopping district laden with international fashion brands.

No surprise why there are two locations in a 2 block radius! Best noodles I’ve had in Korea, tons of locals and quick and easy.
You are expected to go in and out quickly, and masks and other health precautions are a must.
Must try dumpling place in Myeongdong
Definitely must try when you visit Myeongdong. I personally don't really eat dumplings but this one was really good and tasty! Order a tray with a bowl of noodles to share because the portion was really huge! It can get really packed so be expected to wait awhile for a table.
