I recently hosted a surprise 70th birthday party for my mom
I recently hosted a surprise 70th birthday party for my mom at Mozart's, and I couldn't have been more pleased with the experience. The space was clean and well-kept, which made for a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. What stood out to me, however, was how easy the planning process was. The staff was incredibly helpful and accommodating, which made the whole process stress-free. Most importantly, my mom was thrilled with the surprise and had a wonderful time.I highly recommend this venue to anyone looking to host an event.

A few things have changed since my last review, but I still love coming to mozarts for brunch and bringing my friends. I still love the smoked salmon breakfast the most, recently my friend ordered the chicken schnitzel breakfast and really enjoyed it. You order at the bar and they bring the food to you instead of getting table service, but there's still always someone playing the piano, and still a good deal for Bloody Mary and mimosas (just not $3 like it used to be). I wish they were open on Sunday for brunch, but it's a great option for Saturday brunch.

Mozarts is well known, established and highly rated bakery and cafe in the Clintonville neighborhood. They have expanded over the years to include event space rentals. They were the first and only place I contacted to cater my mom's 85th birthday in one of their spaces. They made every thing so easy & stress free from the first point of contact. The event manager, Janelle was very detailed & professional. She answered all our questions and accommodated our requests. We had the champagne tea on a Saturday afternoon. The scones, canapés and desserts were all outstanding! Shout out to our servers, Ruth and Angela for their great service. My mother said it was the best birthday party she ever had!!! High praise for sure.
Be the first to ReplyAmazing cafe we've patron for years.
Would give 5 stars but they no longer have afternoon teas! Such a shame. It was so wonderful to share tea with friends and family

I was one of a party of four ladies for afternoon tea on Friday. Just wanted to thank you for an enjoyable experience. The food and tea were delicious and the staff were attentive (but not excessively so) and friendly. We enjoyed ourselves immensely and look forward to our next visit.

Mozart's is the most delightful, well-run place ever! I hosted a bridal shower there, and was a bit nervous since I live almost 200 miles away. However, from the moment they answered my telephone call, the staff was extremely helpful and courteous. They organized a wonderful High Tea party, elegant and over-the-top with pastries, quiche, and desserts. Add a variety of teas and mimosas, and a grand time was had by all. I cannot recommend this place enough.
Be the first to ReplyI stopped by Mozart's, a charming Austrian cafe.
They offer pastries, desserts, coffee and live music. The dining room is elegant and welcoming. I tried the special chicken schnitzel with spatzel. The breaded chicken was light and crisp and the spatzel was cooked nicely. My dessert, a chocolate moose cake, was light and heavenly. The staff was friendly and welcoming and I look forward to returning to Mozart's.
Be the first to ReplyQuality is going down real fast.
Cakes we're used to be one of the best ones in Columbus. Sadly, there's nothing to brag about anymore from the establishment. Cake part was the quality of a "cake box"-dry, the cream texture was "starchy" from cheap powdered sugar. I bought 4 slices from different cakes they have (chocolate cream, tiramisu, carrot cake and forgot what's the other one)....it's forgettable. I wouldn't come back.

I couldn't have asked for a more stress free planning experience in putting my wife's 50th birthday party. They were very accommodating. During the event the staff was on their toes. I even hired the band and came to find out they were being taken care of (food and drink)--not on my bill. Most everybody came up to me after the party and told me what a wonderful event and venue! I'm just a guy with no idea how to throw a party for a lady, and to have a bunch of women tell you it was top notch, I was flattered. The fee was very reasonable, after all was said and done but what I liked most about that was, there were no hidden costs. I had options, but the owner and the event planner made everything very simple to understand and I never stressed. When I paid the bar bill at the end of the night, I was pleasantly surprised. My wife flipped that I was able to pull it off. With the help of a few of her friends Mozart's helped me create a party that will be remembered for quite a while. Thank you so much!!!!! On November 3, my friend brought me here for tea for my birthday. Upon arrival, we were told that they has lost the reservation because of a glitch in their system. The hostess apologized and sat us. Service was a little spotty, but the tea and accompanying food was delicious. In fact, I called a few days later and made another reservation to bring my friend and her mom who were visiting from out of town on Dec 3. I arrived first and was greeted by the same person who had been there on November 3. I told her I had a reservation for tea and my name. She asked how many there would be. I told her there would be 3 of us. She told me she couldn't find the reservation. I told her I made it myself over the phone. She left and a man who I later found out was the owner came up to me and impatiently started hammering me with questions. No apology whatsoever. By this point I am losing my patience and asked are we going to be able to have tea or not (knowing it was by reservation only thus the reason I made one). His response--still no apology--was ma'am I need to make sure this doesn't happen again so you have to give me the information and proceeds to grill me again for all the information I had just given his employee. I really wanted to tell him I didn't have to do anything, but I digress. Then he wanted to know exactly what day I called so I went thru my phone, found the exact date and time and told him that and that I had spoke to a woman. He asks me did I guarantee with a credit card. Again yes. Not sure how that would help him find it, but whatever. He is standing behind the counter pecking away at a laptop. By this time my guests have arrived. I greet them, we chat, he is still leaving us standing there waiting on him. He hasn't asked anyone to seat us. By this time I am livid. Had they not driven a distance to see me, I would have immediately suggested we leave. We stand there longer. No apology by anyone. Finally, he gives his blessing to seat us. The restaurant is barely half full so tables are plentiful. We order and receive our tea and food and are enjoying our conversation. About 30 minutes have passed. He stops by the table and asks if everything is good. I tell him yes--food is great. What happened next is why I won't ever go back. He proceeds to argue with me, in front of my guests. Tells me that the reason he couldn't find my reservation is that it was under 4 people, not 3. I replied you mean to tell me you couldn't find my name or time of reservation because the number of people was entered one off. Then he asks, well did you make the reservation for 4 or not? I am blown away by this man's complete and total ignorance in customer service, not to mention in front of my guests who did not need to be privy to this total debacle. He only came to the table to try to prove I had done something wrong, not to apologize or say it would never happen again. It's really too bad because the food is fantastic, but there are too many other places in Columbus that can actually not lose two reservations in a month AND apologize if they do. Which, by the way, he never, ever apologized. No offer of compensation. Not even a thank you. Charged us full price of course. I don't see this situation improving as he is the owner after all and from reading past reviews this isn't the first time he has treated customers poorly. I won't trust him or his reservation system again. I can't imagine how a special event there would go.

Be the first to ReplyMozart's is in my top 10 for brunch and lunch in Columbus.
Been going there for years and there isn't a better ratatouille in the city. Also, top notch bakery items. Coffee is middle of the road. Love the live pianist.Hours are limited right now due to staffing issues. Challenging time for local small businesses, especially bars and restaurants. Support them where you can.
Be the first to ReplyI love afternoon tea and Mozarts is a top spot in Columbus
I love afternoon tea and Mozarts is a top spot in Columbus for a tea. They serve the full high tea with finger sandwiches,, scones and cream,, and mini pastries.. I do believe you need a reservation for afternoon tea, but you can always drop in for a cup of coffee or tea and a pastry. My friends and I also enjoy their brunch, especially if you can score a patio table. They also offer very nicely priced brunch cocktails Mimosas and kir royales for $3, I think. The smoked salmon breakfast sandwich is very tasty, a baguette stuffed with fluffy egg and thinly sliced smoked salmon topped with cream cheese and eggs. The bread is fresh and the eggs light and fluffy. My favorite treat us the Marzipan Peach - sponge cookies with raspberry jam and a little bit if mousse, wrapped in marzipan and shaped like a cute peach. The music is nice and the restaurant is a pleasant combination of relaxed and elegant.

This place was one of my first dine-in places after getting my vaccine shots. The place is very clean and keeps patrons seated apart from each other. I went with several friends for brunch after running and enjoyed a breakfast sandwich and split an order of the potatoes with my wife. Everyone seemed to rave about the potatoes and I would agree. They are very good. We also ordered a number of the things out of the case including cookies and coffee. I highly recommend this place for anyone interested in a great break experience. This place is also good for anyone wanting to slowly ease back into eating in at a restaurant. They have an air purifier according to the web site. This is a very big plus for me.
