Morton's The Steakhouse Jacksonville Reviews from The Last Year
I have been to many Morton's and this is the worst overall
I have been to many Morton's and this is the worst overall dining experience I have ever had. There were 6 of us dining. The server disappeared for 15-20 minutes at a time. We could never "see" her. We sat down at 7pm, ordered a bottle of wine and 2 cocktails. 30 minutes later, the wine/cocktails arrived. We each ordered an entree and "shareable" sides. One hour later, runners brought our cold food. The green beans were cold and shriveled. The lobster tails were rubber and cold. The filets (3 ordered med-rare) were black, hard and inedible. We finally got the servers attention and asked to see a manager. He was inept by offering a table of six 2 "free" desserts. After our insistence, he brought 3 desserts and removed 1 filet entree. It's unfortunate that our dining experience was so disappointing.
Servers were great, second visit.
Food was ok. Not a fan but was present for the celebrating of my Godmother's birthday.
Ribeye was a Disappointment
Stopped here on a Sunday night business trip. Felt like having a nice steak dinner. I ordered Caesar Salad, Au Gratin Potatoes, and a Prime Ribeye. The salad and potatoes were excellent. The steak was a disappointment. Very little flavor. I never order any sauces with my steak, but this one was in dire need of something to give it flavor. In the end, I think a trip to Texas Roadhouse would have been a better choice.
My husband took me to Morton's for my birthday.
The service & food were TOP SHELF! The materdie was helpful. She offered parking passes immediately. Our waitress, Jenna, was very friendly & helpful. Her descriptions on the food helped us decide. The Cajun steak was very moist, tender, or delicious. They offered complimentary dessert to me for my birthday. I can't wait to return again soon.
The food and service were amazing.
We had made a reservation and were seated right away. They have excellent martini's, wedge salad, and steak, of course. I highly recommend Morton's.

This was our first time going here with our friends since we wanted to try a more upscale steak house and we wanted to dress up. Morton's is located at downtown Jacksonville. Parking can be tricky but we parked on the garage connecting to the Hyatt hotel since they are located inside Hyatt. Ambiance: very dark and when we were getting seated, I smelt a a weird smell, it smells like a cloth that was not dried up correctly and now it is just a musty smell stuck inside the restaurant. that was a turn off since Morton's is well known to an upscale restaurant. Food: appetizers was great but the steak.. most of us ordered steak and most of our steak wasn't cooked properly, mine was the only correct one and the rest it was cooked almost to well done which they wanted medium rare. It is a little but disappointing since this is a steakhouse and the cooks should know how to cook the meats correctly. half of our table has to sent their food back and sadly it was still the same. Service: thankfully was great. We have no complaints in that area. Will be back? No, we would rather go to Texas Roadhouse and get our steak fix and it will be way less than what we paid here.
I had a great meal at Morton's.
I sat at the bar and the service was friendly and attentive. I had the Caesar salad and bone-in Ribeye. Steak was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Enjoy!!!

After seeking recommendations from fellow scoopers for the perfect steakhouse to celebrate my birthday, we decided on Morton's Steakhouse and it proved to be an excellent choice. We started with their famous onion loaf of bread which was absolutely addicting! For our appetizer, we had to try their Wagyu meatballs along with some delicious French Onion soup; so far everything was outstanding. For our entrees, we opted for the Miso marinated sea bass and the 16oz New York strip steak both cooked perfectly. To top off a fantastic meal they offered us a complimentary dessert in which we chose the chocolate mousse very light yet full of flavor making this overall experience one awesome birthday dinner.

Managed to cook first steak well done and the follow-up to rare.. a steak house that can't cook a steak correctly. Mortons was a very good restaurant until they were bought out... all that made this place special, is gone...

I eat at this caliber of restaurant a lot and even then, I'm ok with something going wrong. I'm pretty reasonable but when I went, literally EVERY item was disgusting. It all started with the soup we asked for not being available. We got suggested another and it tasted very old and weird. I let that slide but in my opinion, at those prices, the full menu should be stocked and cooked.. but things happen. I live creamed spinach but theirs tasted very bizarre. My guest and I decided not to eat it, for fears of food poisoning. I can't even describe the flavor. This is bad but the worst was our steaks.I'd like to know what "prime" means with the prime ribeye because it was the worst cut of steak I've ever had. I'd have rather had a Waffle House pan fried steak. As a matter of fact, I wish we'd have just gone there. There was gristle.. I mean the uneatable kind that feels like a hard piece of rubber. I feel like almost every bite of my steak I took, I had to spit it out because it couldn't be chewed. My friend didn't even eat his and said I could have it. Since I didn't eat a much there, I tried searing it a little when I got home and it was like dog chew toy quality. I've never tried to eat a more terrible cut of beef. I felt bad because I took my friend to treat him but he hated it and was very vocal about how awful it was. I figured maybe it had something to do with being a Tuesday but at this caliber of restaurant, for these prices and reputation, it shouldn't happen any night. I'd never been to Morton's but when I lived in Hawaii, another fiend used to like the one there a lot, so I figured I'd try it. I've been to all the other usual competition and lots of similar independent spots all over and in different countries but have NEVER had such a fail like this night. It was almost worth the $300 for the story, which I tell a very animated version of.

Good service, good food, busy night lots of people wearing hats. I don't know why? The bathroom has issues too, but it's okay since our waiter was nice.
Good food overall, spotty service.
Ate at a high top in the bar which we loved but service was…spotty at best. Cosmo martini was good but very watery. Good selection of wines by the glass. Great chopped salad - plenty for two. Bread was just ok. Spinach/mushroom combo was very good. Filet had good flavor but was a bit overdone (we like medium rare…it was more medium). The highlight was the espresso martini - made perfectly! Not the clubby steakhouse atmosphere of other facilities. More open. Had to beg for: salt/pepper, wine list, another cocktail…thankfully other waitstaff helped us.
Seafoodtower was amazing
Ty got us a great table and Kathie Lee took care of this for the rest the night, she did a awesome job. my husband steak was cooked perfect. I loved my seafood tower and the fresh onion loaf of bread. I WOULD RECOMMEND
